Tom and guest-host Paul Herrold of the Sons of Speed opened the show discussing the Lexus RC F, a V8-powered small coupe that Paul recently spent track time with. Paul noted that though the RC F has grown dated since its 2014 introduction, the car is very capable on the street and on the track. Listen to hear Paul's complete review. Tom and Paul also discussed technological “fads” that were introduced by automakers to great fanfare, but since amounted to little in the market place. In the second segment Tom and Paul welcome Dave Sloan of the Chicago Automobile Trade Association. Dave shared his thoughts on a number of topics, including the UAW strike, EV startup carmakers working outside the franchise dealer system, and dealership acquisitions by large, national corporations. Dave joined Paul for this week's “Whose Brand is it Anyway” quiz.
Matt and Bill recap the Indy 500, review the Lexus RC F and discuss Ford's partnership with Tesla for their EV charger network. DrinkBravago.com
Are you ready for the all-new 2024 Ford Mustang? Ford has unveiled exciting details about the new Mustang lineup for 2024, and we have more Ford Mustang news than you can shake a bridle at. In this episode of America on the Road we'll present comprehensive details on the complete 2024 lineup. It includes both a turbocharged four-cylinder-powered Mustang and a V-8-powered version. No, the V-8 isn't dead. But there's even more. Ford is doubling down on V-8 power by announcing a completely new variant, the first in more than two decades. The 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse features sinister yet sophisticated exterior and interior styling — styling that broadly hints at the high performance expected from its well-sorted suspension and 500-horsepower V-8 engine. Ford claims the Dark Horse with its available handling package will be the most track-capable, 5.0-liter V8 street-legal Mustang ever. It boasts upgrades in aerodynamics, hardware, software, and tuning. For those who love throwbacks, it will offer a six-speed manual transmission. In the road test segment, we will have two high-performance vehicles for you to drool over. Co-host Chris Teague was at the wheel of the 2022 Mercedes-AMG GLB 35. While the crossover SUV might look mundane its performance is anything but. Also in the road test segment Host Jack Nerad took control of the very limited-edition 2022 Lexus RC F Fuji. Just 50 of these luxury sports cars will be forthcoming from Lexus. And the car adds to the performance of the already impressive RC F by subtracting weight. In this week's interview, we will be covering an important but under-reported story — electric-vehicle fires and emergency response. Joe McClaine is a General Motors Electric Vehicle safety engineer, and he will tell us about a special effort GM is making to ensure first responders know how to deal with electric vehicle fires. It's a fascinating look at a story you'll find nowhere else. All that and more coming up in this episode of America on the Road.

Dom did some maintenance on the Viper with some really cool friends. We each pick a car we would love to own, but that we have never talked about. We pick between the Audi RS5 and Lexus RCF, not surprisingly there is a disagreement. Lastly, some loose ends are tied. Everything from the state of Dom's C55 to Dan's Miata.

Gears and Beers: The Unashamedly Unprofessional Automotive Podcast
We couldn't start this week without first talking about the Tokyo Motor Show. We discuss the Sports EV and Urban EV concepts from Honda, the BRZ STI and briefly the S208 WRX STI, the cool new Volkswagen Up! GTI, and the 10th Anniversary edition of the Lexus RC-F. We briefly talk about the blue Stinger GT we checked out in a Kia dealership after the podcast last week, which neatly transitions into a tangent. We talk about Yokohama reviving their HF type D from the 1980's specifically for older vehicles with smaller wheels which are harder to find tyres for. We then discuss the possibility of the Nissan Titan being converted to RHD and may be sold in Australia. We play the fan favourite 'What About This Car', which suprisingly all agree is a cool car... Which spurs an argument about the Panda car craze. Then Joseph introduces a new topic, which should continue to be a fun one.Like us on
This week we have Bob Redinger from Ready Honda on the show to talk about the all-new 2018 Honda Odyssey. We go throuh the new minivan's many features and talk about how you can get a great deal on this popular family mover. We also answer a listener's question about whether to go with a inivan or a crossover. What are the benefits each and which should you choose? Finally, we review the 2017 Lexus RC F and compare it to its performance coupe competitors from BMW and Mercedes. All on this week's epsiode.
