CORVETTE WINS THE GT3 CLASS AND…   THIS WEEK'S NASIR HAMEED CORNER WE HAVE: A MOMENT IN MOTORSPORTS HISTORY…AN INTERVIEW WITH MIKA SALO. MORE GREAT TRIVIA FROM ANDREW. George Russell Congratulations to Lewis (Hamilton). He drove a really impressive race today after being incredibly quick in Qualifying yesterday. Coming into the weekend, I don't think we expected that pace from Ferrari, so we know we've got a challenge coming from them in the races ahead. We will be working hard to tackle that challenge and get back to winning ways. On my side, the race today was not straightforward. I was struggling with the tyres towards the end of my second and third stints; the Virtual Safety Car didn't help us either and it would have been a fascinating race with Lewis without that. I will take the positives from this weekend though. It has been clean from the very start and I come away with 18 points, which is 18 points more than I managed across Canada and Monaco! We will regroup in the week ahead and look to improve for Austria. We've got a big double-header coming up with Spielberg and Silverstone and I am already excited for it. Kimi Antonelli It is very disappointing to retire from P2, but these things can happen in racing. George suffered an issue in Canada and now it's happened to me; we know our reliability is something we need to work on and I am sure the team will be pushing incredibly hard to improve that. It's more important points that we've lost but we must remember that it is the first year of these new regulations and we are all learning quickly. Congratulations to Lewis (Hamilton) on his victory today. He is a great driver and has been so much help in my career so far. I am pleased to see him up there once again as he really deserves it. I think we had the pace today to challenge him for the win, but the Virtual Safety Car came out at a bad time for us, and we didn't get to see how things would have played out. We have one week without racing before returning in Austria. We have seen our competitors take a step forward here this weekend and we will need to raise our game there if we want to fight for victory again. We will pick ourselves up, learn from this weekend, and come back stronger. MAX VERSTAPPEN - 4th "Today we just didn't have the pace to keep up with the cars ahead. I was really just doing my own race as we were a little bit behind the guys that finished in front of me. As a Team we did everything right, it was the winning strategy, so we made the right call there with the tyres. We were just too slow compared to the cars ahead on each compound, unfortunately. We tried our best and put everything into it but ultimately the whole weekend was a bit tough for us. We do struggle more with these high energy tracks with high degradation and we just need to work on things and try to find more pace in the upcoming races." ISACK HADJAR - 6th "I felt like I had good pace this weekend once we got to Qualifying and the race, but I had a shocker at the race start with so much wheelspin, so that's one aspect I really want to focus on before Red Bull Ring. We could have fought with Oscar if we had a good start, so it's a bit of a shame. I think we did way better than we thought we would this weekend given the track layout and conditions. Austria will be a better track for us, and we expect to have a stronger car. We just need to work on the starts." TOYOTA TAKE ITS SIXTH VICTORY AT LE MANS Toyota executed a perfect, textbook strategy throughout the 94th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans to claim its first victory since 2022, securing a sixth overall triumph and equalling the tally of British marque Bentley.     To spectacular fanfare, Japanese powerhouse Toyota Racing lifted the iconic trophy at a sun-kissed Circuit de la Sarthe for the first time in four years, in front of hundreds of thousands of spectators at the venue and millions more watching around the world. Drivers Kamui Kobayashi, Nyck de Vries and Mike Conway emerged as the team to beat at the end of the race, guiding the #7 Toyota to victory ahead of the sister #8 Toyota Racing entry, the #20 BMW M Team WRT and the #12 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA machine in an epic four-way battle to the chequered flag – underlining the "Platinum Era" status that the Hypercar category is building. For Kobayashi, it was a second Le Mans victory. It marked a second triumph for British star Mike Conway and, for the first time in 38 years, a historic win for the Netherlands as Nyck de Vries became the latest Dutch driver to conquer Le Mans. It looked set to be another Toyota one-two, but BMW's never-say-die attitude ensured that the FIA World Endurance Championship points leaders – the #20 crew of Robin Frijns, René Rast and Sheldon van der Linde – claimed second overall and a valuable haul of championship points. Toyota could still be delighted with third place, although a few costly mistakes and strategy calls denied the #8 Toyota of Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryō Hirakawa another victory. Meanwhile, Cadillac can take plenty of plaudits once again. A crowd favourite throughout the week, the #12 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA crew gave everything in pursuit of victory, and the pace they demonstrated at Le Mans suggests they will remain contenders for years to come. Inter Europol Competiton lock-out LMP2  It was a grandstand finish in LMP2 as Inter Europol Competition worked well overnight to bring both cars into the rostrum contention, but a second day charge from Forestier Racing by Panis had everyone on the edge of their seats, but after 24 hours of racing the Polish #43 ORECA with pilots Jakub Smiechowski, Tom Dillmann and Nicholas Yelloly win the penultimate race at Le Mans for this specification LMP2 car! Corvette charge back to the top! Corvette capture the magic of Le Mans once again with iconic yellow #33 Corvette run by TF Sport took LMGT3 laurels with Ben Keating, Jonny Edgar, Nicky Catsburg taking a popular leap onto the top step of the podium. Akkodis ASP Team put Lexus on the podium for the first time at Le Mans with the #78 car second and the #23 Heart of Racing Aston Martin joins in the celebrations in third. From there, he won the 2016 Pro Mazda Championship beating current Indy car start Pato O'Ward.

Mirando a Estados Unidos. Tobi Lütke is a German born Canadian who built a multibillion-dollar company from a snowboard shop; champions economic freedom for regular people starting businesses; combines old-world craftsmanship with modern innovation. He is an entrepreneur, software developer, best known as the co-founder and CEO of Shopify, a leading e-commerce platform powering over 4 million merchants worldwide as of 2024, generating billions in annual revenue. Born in Germany, Lütke discovered his passion for coding at a young age with a Schneider CPC computer, rewriting game code by age 11. A self-taught programmer who dropped out of school after tenth grade to pursue a computer programming apprenticeship at Koblenzer Carl-Benz-School, he moved to Canada in the early 2000s. In 2004, as a snowboard enthusiast, Lütke co-founded Snowdevil, an online snowboard shop, but frustrations with existing e-commerce tools led him to build a custom platform using Ruby on Rails, which became Shopify in 2006 in Ottawa, Canada. Welcome to our motorsports podcast where we discuss F1, IndyCar, IMSA, NASCAR, our own racing adventures, and some other adventures! After a minor summer break of our own, Nate and Christian are back and do their best to recap all the action that has happened this past month.NASCAR was at Sonoma, Dover, and Indy these past three weeks. SVG solidifies his playoff presence with his 3rd win of the season at Sonoma. Nate gives us his on the ground report from Dover where Denny Hamlin took the win there. Last but not least, we touch on the Brickyard 400 where William Darrell "Bubba" Wallace Jr. comes out on top!IMSA is going to Road America this weekend but we recap their previous race at Mosport which had plenty of action! AO Racing claims their first LMP2 win and DragonSpeed take the win in GTDPro.Staying in the sportscar world, we also recap WEC's 6h of Interlagos. A race that went green for just about the entire way with only a couple VSCs or code 60s which was great to watch a race play out in its entirety that led to not only Cadillac's first win in Hypercar but their first 1-2 as well! Lexus takes their first LMGT3 win too!IndyCar had 4 races in the past 3 weeks where two drivers split the wins - Pato and Palou. Impressive drives by Kyffin Simpson, Christian Lungaard, Rinus Veekay, and David Malukas over the course of these past few rounds as well. After all the racing that did happen, it's looking more and more likely that Palou will indefinitely take his 4th IndyCar championship. He could even clinch the title after this next race at Portland.Formula 1 went to Spa this past weekend where once again we had rain. This time was not as severe as 2021 and we were able to go racing after a delay but the response after the race was one that drivers thought they could've gone racing a bit sooner. In the end, they played it safe and McLaren was able to secure a 1-2 with Piastri ahead of Norris. F1 heads to Hungary this weekend before they take their traditional summer break.Coming up this weekend: NASCAR at Iowa, IMSA is at Road America, and F1 is at Hungary.

We caught up with Colin at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach Media Day where he was giving pace car rides and also evaluating an new Acura track day road car (we'll have a walkaround podcast on this one in the future). He started off the year with a second place podium finish at the Rolex 24 Hour race at Daytona in his Meyer Shank Racing Acura GTP car and followed that up with three top ten finishes in the next four races. In this interview, he fills us in on what it was like to race the MSR Indy car, how that compares to his GTP car, and the intensity of racing at Long Beach. He also tells us how challenging it is to share the track with different classes of cars and gives us his thoughts on how he manages that challenge. He's a humble guy but an incredible racer. Enjoy!NOTE: Colin Braun will be racing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans this weekend in an LMP2 car.

Tonight, we have an opportunity to bring a piece of Le Mans to you, sharing in the Legend of Le Mans with guests from different eras of over 100 years of racing.  In 2007 Adrián Fernández made his debut at Le Mans taking home a second place in a V8 powered LMP2 prototype. This was the first podium for a Mexican driver at the Circuit de la Sarthe since the 1960s.  Three years later in 2010, Adrián found himself back at Le Mans this time behind the wheel of Aston Martin's LMP1 finishing fifth in class (6th overall).  Returning for the 80th running of Le Mans in 2012, Adrián and Aston Martin took home a third place finish in the GTE-Pro class covering 332 laps without failures or serious mechanical problems. With his help, the team achieved the fastest lap in their class at 3:54.928. And Adrián had the distinct honor of driving the Aston to the checkered flag. On September 12, 2012, Adrián announced his retirement from racing, thus concluding his relationship with Aston Martin Racing, but that wasn't the end of this involvement in the world of Motorsports. ===== (Oo---x---oO) ===== 00:00 Adrian Fernandez's Le Mans Journey 01:56 Early Racing Career and Challenges 03:20 Transition to Endurance Racing 07:54 First Le Mans Experience 10:50 Challenges and Triumphs at Le Mans 13:13 The Art of Endurance Racing 21:45 Aston Martin and Later Years 24:49 Transition to GT Racing 25:58 Final Race and Reflections 29:03 Advice for Aspiring Drivers 34:37 Changes in Motorsport: Safety Innovations 38:32 Historic Cars and Modern Racing 40:55 Life After Racing 45:35 Closing Thoughts and Farewell ==================== The Motoring Podcast Network : Years of racing, wrenching and Motorsports experience brings together a top notch collection of knowledge, stories and information. #everyonehasastory #gtmbreakfix - motoringpodcast.net More Information: https://www.motoringpodcast.net/ Become a VIP at: https://www.patreon.com/gtmotorsports Online Magazine: https://www.gtmotorsports.org/ To learn more about or to become a member of the ACO USA, look no further than www.lemans.org, Click on English in the upper right corner and then click on the ACO members tab for Club Offers. Gossip time! Why did Ross steal that Ferrari from Chip Ganassi? Just who dropped that tire on Jeff's toe at Daytona and became his sworn enemy for life? Which aging F1 driver did Sam give a wedgie to in the pits at Lime Rock? Listen and find out! (Warning: This episode may not actually contain the above information.) This episode's working title was "The Dumbest Things We've Seen in Racing." When we sat down at the mic, it got way more interesting—a discussion about high-pressure environments, room for error, and how "dumb" doesn't always mean what you think. This show's format rotates weekly, because squirrel. This format is called “Ross and Jeff Teach Sam a Thing." Related Trivia: Jeff was at Mosport this weekend with the AWA IMSA Corvettes. Ross was coaching LMP2 remotely from his home in Seattle. Sam was at Road America for the WeatherTech vintage races. Only one of them spilled a Siebken's Root Beer on his shoes and doesn't regret it. We tell racing stories and leave out the boring parts. Ross Bentley is a former IndyCar driver and a world-renowned performance coach and author. Jeff Braun is a champion race engineer. Sam Smith is an award-winning journalist and a former executive editor of Road & Track magazine. Together, we explore the emotion at the heart of the machine. We don't love racing for the nuts and bolts—we love it for what it asks of the bag of meat at the wheel. New episodes every Tuesday.

IndyCar may have had the week off, but that didn't stop the news machine from turning the motorsports world on its ear and the Speed Street boys have the latest scoop. Conor Daly chats with his co-host Chase Holden about catching the 24 Hour of Le Mans coverage over the weekend, where many IndyCar drivers were in action. Friend of the show Nolan Siegel brought home a victory in the LMP2 class at the historic race, and found himself in the middle of the latest IndyCar silly season happenings, as the announcement was made that he would be replacing Theo Pourchaire in the Arrow-McLaren number-6 for the rest of the 2024 season. Conor expresses to Chase the immense pressure that young drivers are facing in what is shaping up to be a volatile driver employment climate, where many drivers have been let go after being unable to perform in a short amount of time.Road America winner Will Power joins the show to discuss how his Penske number-12 team converted some recent solid finishes to a well earned victory in Elkhart Lake. Will had a front row seat to the calamity that broke out in the first turn of the race, which he attributes to passing ability becoming increasingly difficult this year and the importance of top-10 finishes. Will suggests the limitation of push to pass in cars that are about to be overtaken, which would lead to more strategy on the shorter courses that IndyCar visits. Conor also inquires about Will's utilization of overcutting his teammates and how that helped him come out on top during the final stretch of the race. The guys all look ahead to the Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey and speculate what differences fans will see in the race this year compared to last year's season finale at the 2.238 mile long road course.
