Today The Lost Bay Podcast's guest is Adam STATION.Adam is best known for designing modern horror RPGs, with a surreal twist. Their games and modules have two unique features. First they are heavily procedural, based mostly on tables and nested tables. Second they are inspired by modern and contemporary music, to the point some of them are actually partially sampled from song lyrics and titles.Today we'll be talking about “I dont belong here”, a modern horror module for Liminal Horror, inspired by Radiohead music and that is crowdfunding on Backerkit right now. We'll also do something a bit different, we'll roll on some of Adam's wild tables! While you listen to the episode take a moment to check the backerkit page https://www.backerkit.com/c/projects/stations/i-don-t-belong-here-modern-horror-inspired-by-radioheadStorewww.thelostbaystudio.comNewsletterwww..thelostbaystudio.substack.com/subscribe?Follow the The Lost Bay Podcastwww.bsky.app/profile/thelostbaystudio.comwww.instagram.com/thelostbaystudio/Produced by IkoEditing Laura ElleMusic Avery Isles
Riveting character creation! You won't be able to turn your ears away. Then the scenario begins with a scene of horrifying madness: giving away collectibles for no reason! SETTING BACKGROUND Set in the fictional town of New Braunstein, Wisconsin, which broods on the south shore of Lake Geneva, glaring across the watery expanse at its famous twin to the north. The region, nestled in the fertile lowlands of the state's southeastern corner, has been at the center of many larger than life legends from Chicago crime boss shootouts to the excesses of the Playboy mansion hosting secret midnight revels in the 1970s. The Lake itself has earned its own share of legends. Boats and passengers gone missing on still, cloudless days, never to be seen again. Nights when the water seems to exude a slight but unmistakable aura that just doesn't show up in photographs. Many of the older residents who've watched the Lake over many years will swear that on certain clear nights under the new moon they looked into the lake and saw lights that reflected no heavenly constellation but were otherworldly beacons in the starry depths. Recommandé aux fans de Junji Ito, John Carpenter, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Call of Cthulhu, Monster of the Week et Silent Legions.

Goblin Archives is a game designer and educator, creator of Liminal Horror, and fomenter of the fantastic (and horrific in a good "horror is cool" kinda way) community of players and creators around it. He thrives on collaborative work, and in this episode this becomes a theme that we explore deeply. Liminal Horror is a fantastic gem of a game of Investigative Horror that uses the framework from Cairn and provides it's on set of tools and structures to create very instigating scenarios. This fostered a dedicated community of creators and a steady flow of modules and supplements that keep the game going and always full of ideas. Here we are in the brambles. This week on the Vintage RPG Podcast, we're looking at Cairn, Yochai Gal's ultra-lite hack/remix of Into the Odd and Knave. How few mechanics can you have and still have a D&D-esque RPG? It's both more and less than you expect, probably. Cairn actually highlights Into the Odd's differences from D&D by pulling the Odd mechanics in a more old-school direction (Into the Odd lacks a recognizable spellcasting system, for instance). We run it all down. Next up: Liminal Horror!New year, new Noble Knight discount code! Liminal Horror is a modern horror tabletop RPG. It started a year and a half ago as a hack of the game Cairn, and since then its ecosystem has significantly grown. It has been published in print, counts two official modules, and is supported by a vibrant community. In this episode we'll talk about Goblin Archives' journey as a game designer, how to write horror, crowdfunding using itch.io, growing supported by the community and giving back to it, and the two first official modules for the game: The Mall inspired by John Carpenter's 1982 movie The Thing, and The Bureau an adventure of corporate horror.
