Send us a textWelcome back dragon fans, to the second part of our coverage of The Lost Firebreather by D.M. Gilmore. A reminder that because we covered a review copy, we released the first half last week in tandem with the official public release of the book, and so put off the spoiler half until you all have had a fair chance to read it, to be fair and respectful to the author.Join us once again as we discuss this heavily ATLA inspired dragon book, talking about our favorite characters and which ones were difficult to get into. Come here Rei's crackpot, conspiracy-board worthy theory on what the elements actually are. Cool down with a glimpse into the thought process and history of the podcast and a small discussion on how emotional dragons are supposed to be. We even have discussions about Rei's high school writing attempts and his dream dragon game. Many topics were had this episode, as both the hosts went on quite a few tangents.Twitter: @OfficialWODPODEmail: wodpodcastmail@gmail.comPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/worldofdragonspodcast Discord - https://discord.gg/Kfjh74aqn2
Hörður Ægisson og Þorbjörn Atli Sveinsson hjá Acro verðbréfum ræða um nýafstaðið hlutafjárútboð í Íslandsbanka, hvort rétt hafi verið að stækka útboðið, hvort það sé jafnvel heppnað og stjórnvöld halda fram, hvernig eftirmarkaðurinn kann að líta út, um ummæli fjármálaráðherra kosti þess að fjárfesta í banka á meðan útboðið stóð yfir, hvernig Íslandsbanki mun starfa í framhaldinu og margt fleira. Þá er rætt um stýrivaxtaákvörðun Seðlabankans í næstu viku, skráningu Alvotech í Svíþjóð og fleira.
Send us a text✨ Grab Adriana's free Human Design 101 guide here! We're back with the next installment of my series on the five energy types, and this one is so special!I rounded up three rare and beautiful Reflectors to talk about their experience, and WOW, I learned so much. Not only did it feel like they were reading my mind the whole time, but it was such a wild trip to recognize the power and freedom of being a Reflector — which I hope feels validating to all the Reflectors out there! Our panelists today are:Eir Atla, a 5/2 Reflector and Scorpio sun / Scorpio moon / Leo risingGabs Hayes, a 4/6 Reflector and Libra sun / Cancer moon / Scorpio risingKristine Kapatos Rowe, a 4/6 Reflector and Cancer sun / Capricorn moon/ Gemini risingAnd we're talking about:discovering their own cycles of work and rest, and why we can all benefit from taking mini sabbaticalsreleasing the mental timelines of when something's “supposed” to happen or when we have to make a decision, instead allowing for the clarity to comebeing a mirror, not a sponge, and simply physically leaving the space to get out of the energy when it's not rightliving in alignment as Reflectors and how surrendering control to the Universe can put them in the mindset of surprise and delightAnd as a reminder for all of us, we've got a beautiful reflection on the importance of being slow and still in our lives.
Send us a textWelcome, Dragon Fans, to another prerelease review! D.M. Gilmore, author of Lazy Scales (a Rei favorite) has given us a review copy of his newest book, first in a series, so we could do another day 1 review! As such, the second half of the episode, the spoiler filled discussion, will be released next week so everyone can have an honest chance to read the book and we don't just immediately spoil everything day 1.The Lost Firebreather is a take on the Avatar The Last Airbender formula, but with dragons! That's great, we need more "but with dragons" stories honestly. The world has several tribes of dragons, all aligned with an element, and a survivor or a genocided tribe must discover who he is, and quite possibly learn how the other cultures interact with their 'elements'. Unfortunately, no juiceboxing in this book. Rei sad. We're back! To commemorate Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month, I talk with Bobby Rubio, who has had an impressive career. Starting with an internship at Disney, he has worked on Pocahontas, Treasure Planet, Avatar the Last Airbender, and many more animated films and series, including being responsible for the first animated Filipino lead character, in the Pixar short, Float. We talk about it all, including what a "Clean up Artist" does, why there actually is pretty good representation in the animation industry, and how he thought his career was over just before landing a job on ATLA at Nickelodeon. And we get awesome advice on how to make a name for yourself in today's age of AI. Check out his work on Instagram and other socials at @bobbyrubio and stay tuned for his comic book Kickstarter coming up in October!
Note: This episode contains strong language. Easily the hardest part of turning something like our live event celebrating the chemistry between Burt Bacharach and Dionne Warwick (and lyricist Hal David) into a radio show is figuring out what NOT to include. Onstage at Watkinson School in Hartford, we went nearly 80 minutes. The finished radio version runs just 50 minutes. So we thought we’d present to you here separately some of that excised half hour. This podcast extra includes four full song performances that didn’t make it into the radio show plus some odds and ends from rehearsals at soundcheck that we particularly enjoyed. Atli Þór Kristinsson, sagnfræðinemi, var í vinnu, námi og stundaði félagslífið af krafti en eftir að hafa smitast af COVID-19 er hann óvinnufær. Sjúkdómur Atla Þórs heitir Long Covid og hann líkir honum við spennitreyju. Atli Þór segir okkur frá upplifun sinni af sjúkdómnum. Hann hefur í rannsóknum sínum kafað ofan í veruleika ungs fólks sem dvaldi á elliheimilum á síðustu öld, og segja má að hann hafi sjálfur fengið smjörþefinn af veruleika rannsóknarviðfanga sinna þegar hann innritaði sig á heilsustofnunina í Hveragerði, langtum yngri en aðrir sjúklingar. Við fjöllum nánar um þennan sjúkdóm, Long Covid, sem hrjáir hátt í 3000 manns hér á landi. Hrönn Stefánsdóttir situr í stjórn ME-félagsins og er fulltrúi þess í vinnuhópi um Long Covid hjá Alþjóðaheilbrigðismálastofnuninni í Evrópu. Samtökin stóðu um síðustu helgi fyrir herferð til að auka meðvitund um sjúkdóminn og þá sérstaklega á veruleika barna sem glíma við hann hér á landi. Edda Olgudóttir kemur svo til okkar í vísindaspjall í lok þáttar. Við ræðum plastmengun í lungum fugla. Tónlist: DIRE STRAITS - Walk Of Life.

Ali commemorates the 20th anniversary of Avatar: The Last Airbender by reflecting on what the show means to her, sharing a few silly memories based on what little she saw of it back when it was originally airing, as well as why she's always loved Kataang from the very beginning. Additionally, she expresses her infinite excitement for the new upcoming animated projects from Avatar Studios, including the limited series, Avatar: Seven Havens, and the first theatrical movie featuring the Gaang as young adults titled Aang: The Last Airbender. She also shares her love for the cast of the live-action Netflix adaptation of the series. To close out the episode, she shares a mushy Kataang story she wrote called "An Air of Certainty." "Will you go penguin sledding with me?"
The title says it all. The mission is complete. It's time for truth. Summary In this conversation, Monet discusses her experiences and insights regarding the transformation of Earth and the role of galactic beings in this process. She shares her journey of healing, the impact of the suppression grid, and the awakening of crystal children. Monet emphasizes the importance of solar frequencies and the shift towards a new Earth, where individuals are empowered to awaken themselves. The conversation culminates in a declaration of freedom and the beginning of a new chapter in her life and work. Takeaways Earth is no longer under quarantine, allowing for direct contact with galactic beings. The shift in consciousness is irreversible and has already begun. Individuals are now empowered to awaken themselves without external activation. The suppression grid that held humanity back has fallen, enabling a new era. Solar frequencies are crucial for the transformation of Earth and its inhabitants. The awakening of crystal children is essential for anchoring new energies on Earth. Monet's role has shifted from being a guide to embracing her own freedom and choices. The journey of Atla, the spirit of the Atlantis Crystal, marks the transition to a crystalline Earth. The cosmic grid is now interacting with Earth, enhancing its connection to the universe. The new Earth is a collaborative effort where everyone plays a part in its creation. On the night of December 18, Colin got 10 performers together onstage, and they rocked their way through an 18-song setlist of holiday and holiday-adjacent classics. With a single sentence, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has ended a nationwide program that had seized untold millions in cash from airline passengers without arrests.“I am directing that the DEA suspend conducting consensual encounters,” wrote Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco in a Nov. 12, 2024, directive to the Drug Enforcement Administration. The directive was an immediate response to a report from the Justice Department Inspector General that was set in motion by Atlanta News First Investigates. The award-winning investigation, In Plane Sight, has been viewed millions of times on YouTube. One of those viewers took action because of it, setting off a chain of events that led the Justice Department to shut the program down.Read the full story here: https://www.atlantanewsfirst.com/2024/12/03/airline-informant-received-thousands-passenger-cash-seizures/

In today's Daily Fix: Saber Interactive has announced the team is working on a triple-A RPG set in the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe. While this won't be the first ATLA game, the previous entries have been mostly shovelware that rehashed the events of the animated series. This new game promises to be the big budget title fans have been clamoring after for years. In other news, Konami had to bump the difficulty up on the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 3 remake. The new camera scheme in MGS Delta made the old style of playing apparently too easy. And finally, a mod for the PC version of God of War: Ragnarok can silence the verbal companion hints on some of the puzzles. And yes, the mod is called "Please Shut Up."

Lipreading has been in the news this month, thanks to gossip-stoking mouth movements at the Golden Globes that the amateur lipreaders of The Internet rushed to interpret. But lipreading tutor Helen Barrow describes how reading lips really works - the confusable consonants, the importance of context and body language - and gossip maven Lainey Lui explains why these regularly occurring lipreading gossip stories are unworthy of a second or even first glance.
