Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes basketball team march forward to return to the women's NCAA Tournament Sweet 16. Clark scored 32 points in a tough battle vs West Virginia Monday night. Also, Big 10 rival Indiana defeated Oklahoma and will join Iowa in the sweet 16, March Madness fun.Up next the Hawkeyes face Colorado on Saturday while the Hoosiers play undefeated South Carolina Friday in Albany, New York.PENN STATE RECEIVERSSpring football is in full swing and James Franklin and the Penn State football team is laser-focused on their wide receivers. We are not sure they upgraded enough at the position with all due respect to Ohio State Buckeyes transfer Julian Fleming. But #WeAre excited to see the Nittany Lions offense under new offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki. There will be a lot of pre-snap motion. A lot! And we will see if quarterback Drew Allar will cut things loose a bit. We think he was over-coached about not throwing interceptions last season and he played too conservatively at times. (But it should be noted he only threw 2 interceptions in 2023).Also, tune in to find out what Minnesota Gophers football coach PJ Fleck said about the new Big 10 commercial coming on the Big 10 Network! Feel that chill in the air? It's not just the winter breeze but a cold reminder that now's the perfect time to prep our HVAC for the sweltering Texas summer. And speaking of heat, the Dallas Cowboys are certainly feeling it after their wild card game left fans and legends like Michael Irvin and Emmitt Smith in a state of disbelief. We're peeling back the layers on the Cowboys' frigid exit from the playoffs, examining the future of the McCarthy era, and whether Jerry Jones will navigate the team out of this icy patch to their former glory. Plus, get ready to explore the commendable defense of the Green Bay Packers and what it meant for our boys in blue.Amidst the football frenzy, we're tipping our hats to the Houston Texans, defying expectations and marching on to the AFC Divisional Round. Their journey, built on a faith-driven culture, is a beacon of hope for the underdog spirit. And as we honor Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we're reflecting on MLK's enduring legacy, contemplating the unity and progress he championed, and how it resonates in today's world. So, buckle up as we tackle the gridiron upsets and look to the horizon for potential changes within the Cowboys' ranks, all while keeping the dream of improvement and community at the forefront.Support the showPlease like and follow each of Stories Inside the Man Cave Podcast social media links on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and Tik Tok.

Marching forward requires an understanding of the direction that God wants us to go. I believe that we often get stuck because we just aren't sure what step we are supposed to take next. It's not that we don't want to move forward-it's just that we are not sure that we are moving in the right direction! The key, if we are going to March Forward in a meaningful way, is to spend time with God so that we understand the direction He wants us to go. But how do we do that? How do we "Spend Time With God?" This week on the "March or Die Show", we talk about the "What", "Why", and "How" of spending time with God. My hope is that this episode will help to equip you to know and follow God. From the archives, (2019) for Black History Month: Melba Pattillo Beals, one of the so-called Little Rock Nine .... the nine young black students who were the first blacks to attend Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. Their dramatic entry into the school in the fall of 1957 was one of the most crucial events in the civil rights movement. In this interview, Beals discusses her memoir "March Forward, Girl: From Young Warrior to Little Rock Nine."
This week in part 3 of the "March Forward" series, we discuss the concept of the "Something New". How do we know what the calling is on our life? What happens when something new presents itself to us? How do we address and embrace change? This week we talk about that and a lot more, as we "March Forward" in our series.
This week in part 2 of the "March Forward" series, we discuss the concept of the "Rear View Mirror". What happens when we look back, why should we look forward, and are objects really closer than they appear to be? We'll talk about why dwelling on the past can be dangerous, why it's important to be "present", and how we can always be ready for the future by focusing on what God gives us each and every day.
One of our favorite things every summer is drum corps. I'm always fascinated by how a creative team can take a theme and turn it into a field production. The theme and the storyline is the most important part of putting a show together - long before music is picked and visuals are drawn up. I spent some time digging into the show themes for all of the corps this year, because I was just so impressed with how well so many of them told the story through their show. So, for the next 4 weeks, I've taken a few of our favorite shows from the summer and relate their titles to some of the things we've experienced and learned this summer. I've titled this series “Marching Forward”, because after some of the things we've experienced, I know we're being called to move forward in many areas of life. Today, we begin with part 1: Riffs and Revelations. This show was about a journey… the parts that repeat, the things that were learned, the things discovered - over the road on a journey to reveal who we really are. I'll share a little about some of our repeated patterns and the revelations God has shown us to move forward in several areas.
The Next Steps Forward guest this week is Master Sergeant Crystal C. Romero, who retired after serving sixteen-and-a-half years in the U.S. Army National Guard. She served full-time, providing active-duty operational support, primarily in her home state of New Mexico. Today, she is an activist for veterans' causes and has had a significant role in passing legislation related to military sexual assault and veterans' mental health. Crystal will discuss these topics, as well as her experience with escaping human trafficking, the role models and inspirations in her life which helped her to further her Army career and personal development, and her work through the legislative systems to make things better in regards to sexual harassment and sexual assault in the military. Crystal provides a unique perspective on how to avoid repeating whatever crisis we each may face that will resonate with everyone from active duty military personnel, veterans to civilians.

Some of us are going through the next chapter of yet again another change. Others have fears or grieving that they have not faced. Goals exist, but the following steps have yet to occur. Let's start a new season with the intent to march forward to march on. Let us march in unity to face what is before us and get to a place where we can attack what has a stronghold on us and break through with embrace. Lookup, and let's elevate!

For this season opener, Daniel has a conversation with his best friend. His wife. As a Care Partner, she sits on the front row of his life. She witnesses the effects that the progression of Parkinson's has on her husband. The couple has been married for nearly 20 years. In this episode, they discuss the important steps that need to be made to keep the marriage fresh and vibrant. A key first step involves providing each other the understanding that they are trying their best. If communication breaks down or wasn't there, to begin with then unreasonable expectations are placed on each other. Finally, listen as the team provides valuable steps regarding the practical management of the progression. May you be encouraged. Add your experience and suggestions to the conversation in this Parkinson's podcast. If you would like to leave Daniel a voice message and you live in the U.S. call 1-706-873-1656. March Forward Towards Allah

While the deal is already being seen by many as Nike's way of saying “Just Do It” to the Web3 era, it'll also likely signal to NFT startups and legacy clothing brands alike that the world of virtual fashion will further heat up in 2022. Founded in 2019, RTFKT has becoming increasingly popular with sneaker and Web3 enthusiasts, and has gained momentum during the NFT boom that began earlier this year. In February, the startup released several virtual sneaker designs in collaboration with the artist Fewocious and quickly made more than $3 million buy selling more than 600 pairs that can't even be worn in the physical world. In March, it partnered with Atari on a limited edition Atari-themed virtual sneaker. And just last month, RTFKT partnered with the artist Takashi Murakami on an NFT auction to sell 20,000 3D avatars that are a part of the CloneX collection. Several universities, such as Georgetown, George Washington and Cornell, have decided to either cancel all indoor events or hold them online, among other restrictions. Georgetown University, for example, is restricting all indoor campus dining to a "grab-and-go" model, where students pick up their food in a dining hall and eat in their private room. The university is also closing fitness centers, and has canceled all events if they cannot be held outdoors or online.” Many universities across the United States have also announced that they will require a coronavirus booster shot as well. Syracuse, George Washington, Northeastern, Notre Dame, University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and more have announced booster shots will be required for all eligible students beginning in the spring 2022 semester.

The ruling class of the world appears to have no intention of slowing down the train to downtown fuck-town. They are finally doing what they've openly said they were always going to do. For nearly 2 decades, "tinfoil hat" people have tried to sound the alarm. They openly publish their agendas via the World Economic Forum, Bilderberg, Davos and other elitist quarterly gatherings. It would be wise to simply take them at their word and prepare. Australia has become a police state, other European countries teeter close to the same while our appointed rulers here in North America muse about doing the same. "Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men. Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers. Pray for powers equal to your tasks."

Part One: Melba Pattillo Beals, author of "March Forward, Girl: From Young Warrior to Little Rock Nine." In 1957, Beals was one of 9 African-American young people who were enrolled in the facially segregated Little Rock Central High School in the wake of the Brown vs. Board of Education decision of the U.S. Supreme Court. Part Two: ABC's Dan Harris, author of "Meditation for Fidgety Skeptics: a 10% Happier How-To Book." Harris turned to meditation to help him through some anxiety issues; it worked for him, even though he was far from the typical practitioner of meditation.

Dr. Melba Patillo Bales is a truly great figure in history and in this country. She is one of the high school students from 1957, the Little Rock 9, who played a significant role in desegregation. The Federal Court had ruled on integration in all schools. Even at a very young age Melba did not understand segregation, so she was a natural candidate for the group of black students selected to attend Capital High School in Little Rock. In her memoir "March Forward, Girl" she tells of her youth and life in the south in the 1940s and 1950s. www.melbapatillobales.com
The notes I read from for this episode:Service and giving back using Jason McCarthy GoRuck guy on Jocko.Friend, Dan Zehner, knows JasonTold me about his episode on Jocko Willink's podcastOne section resonated with me because it described what I feelHe speaks as a veteran and starts by describing owingJason says elsewhere in the conversation that military service isn't unique in providing these results. Other kinds of service do too.The sense of service and stewardship, and the depth and meaning of teamwork and community seem similar.I hear how most people describe the interaction with the environment, grasping to reusing disposable cups. They sound like they feel shameful and guilty, as if someone else and not their behavior, was causing the feelingsListen to Jason. Wouldn't you rather sound like him?Beyond feeling better about personal action, think of the potential to lead, to create that feeling based on effective results in othersImagine helping transform American and global culture, or your local community, to become clean, to foster and value stewardship, community, and connectionWho wouldn't want this? The recording starts with a question of JockoHear how much Jason wants to share the meaning and purpose of this activityBy the way, speaking of Dan, we became friends over his doing the exercises in my book Initiative, which led him to create his life's dream project, meeting the top people in the field in the process, and partnering with a dream partner. I'll include a link to his blog, where he is recording his experiences doing the exercises. If you want to do something meaningful with your life and haven't found a passion to build it on or how to bring it to life or your work, I recommend my book Initiative. Do I sound passionate about my work? This podcast resulted from what it teaches.Post-episodeHe talked about building a bridge between worlds, giving back. Maybe I'm projecting, but I see stewardship, especially environmental stewardship, overlapping with what he talked about. It's service. We who have acted on our environmental values have to build a bridge to because judgment, guilt, shame, facts, figures, doom, and gloom aren't what we're about, or at least not what I'm aboutStewardship for me is joy, community, connection, meaning, value, importance, purpose, and passion. The stories I know of people who have acted bring out those things.Let's make environmental action more about these things. I consider it my responsibility.Dan Zehner's blog on doing Initiative's exercisesGoRuckA Forbes article on Jason McCarthy, How A Special Forces Soldier Built A Multimillion-Dollar Backpack BrandThe Jocko podcast episode featuring Jason, 208: March Forward, One Foot In Front Of The Other. Dr. Melba Pattillo Beals is an important and historical woman in the US. She is one of the high school students who became known as the Little Rock 9, and who played a significant role in desegregation. The Federal Court had ruled on integration in all schools in the years prior, and some leaders in Little Rock, Arkansas determined to make it reality in their city. In her memoir "March Forward, Girl" Melba tells of her youth, and life in the south in the 1940s and 1950s, with stunning insight into the time she attended Capital HS. September 25 was the 61st Anniversary of that first day of school. www.melbapattillobeals.com
Melba Pattillo Beals bolted into the spotlight as a teenager in 1957 when she, a black girl, enrolled at Central High School, an all white high school in Little Rock, Arkansas. As a part of the Little Rock Nine, Melba quickly became a leader in the Civil Rights movement; and later, an accomplished journalist and author. We had the honor of sitting down with Melba where she talked about her sense of belonging, growing up fast, how society today has regressed in civil rights, and finding the strength to march forward. The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview Melba Pattillo Beals, Author of MARCH FORWARD,Girl From the legendary civil rights activist and author of the million-copy selling Warriors Don't Cry comes an ardent and profound childhood memoir of growing up while facing adversity in the Jim Crow South. Long before she was one of the Little Rock Nine, Melba Pattillo Beals was a warrior. Frustrated by the laws that kept African-Americans separate but very much unequal to whites, she had questions. Why couldn't she drink from a "whites only" fountain? Why couldn't she feel safe beyond home—or even within the walls of church? Adults all told her: Hold your tongue. Be patient. Know your place. But Beals had the heart of a fighter—and the knowledge that her true place was a free one. Combined with emotive drawings and photos, this memoir paints a vivid picture of Beals' powerful early journey on the road to becoming a champion for equal rights, an acclaimed journalist, a best-selling author, and the recipient of this country's highest recognition, the Congressional Gold Medal.
