"The goal is to create a work environment that is a great place to work," says Mark Daly, as he leads the relaunch of ROLM, a company known for its pioneering legacy in Silicon Valley. Speaking with Doug Green, publisher of Technology Reseller News, at ITEXPO and MSP Expo, Daly shares insights on ROLM's new focus on AI, cybersecurity, and UCaaS—industries at the forefront of innovation. ROLM: A New Era of Innovation Once an iconic name in Silicon Valley, ROLM was a trailblazer in telephony and business communications. Now, Daly and his team are bringing ROLM back, this time with a focus on: Artificial Intelligence (AI) – Investing in decision-making AI solutions, including a government-funded project blending human and AI intelligence to mitigate risk. Cybersecurity – Developing cutting-edge security tools, with product launches expected later this year. UCaaS – Offering business communication solutions in a highly competitive market while leveraging AI and cybersecurity as key differentiators. AI's Role in the MSP Market Daly, a well-known industry expert, has been moderating multiple AI-focused sessions at IT Expo. He highlights how AI is still in its early adoption phase, yet its impact is already being felt. From Outlook's auto-suggestions to intelligent IVRs in telephony, AI is reshaping MSP operations. The big question now is: How can MSPs integrate AI into their service offerings? "MSPs are still figuring out how AI maps to their customers' needs. It's an evolving space," says Daly. Building High-Performing Teams Beyond technology, Daly also led a panel on how to build high-performing teams. Drawing from his own experience, he emphasizes that team culture, talent selection, and leadership are key to driving success. He also highlights Predictive Index (PI) as a modern tool to analytically identify and hire top talent. What's Next for ROLM? As ROLM builds momentum, Daly hints at bigger plans for next year's IT Expo: "No swimming pool yet, but next year, we're aiming for the big tent!" For now, ROLM continues to push forward with AI, cybersecurity, and business communications innovations. Hello everyone! I'm thrilled to introduce my guest for this episode of the podcast: Mark Daly and his band, The Ravens. The Ravens are Jack Ross on bass, James Brown on lead guitar, Danny Laverde on drums, and Cillian Plummer on rhythm guitar. Earlier this year, Mark and the guys hit the road with Mr. Big, and I had the pleasure of catching their electrifying performances every night. Their shows were fantastic, and it was a privilege to get to know them. Mark and the band were kind enough to sit down with me for an insightful chat about the musician's life, just before one of their shows. I really appreciate their generosity in taking the time to share their experiences and perspectives. Mark has been diligently crafting his career through relentless touring and record releases, continually building his brand. Witnessing their dedication and commitment to delivering top-notch performances was truly inspiring. This autumn, Mark and The Ravens will be hitting the road again, this time supporting Richie Kotzen across the USA. Check out the link below for tour dates—you won't want to miss it! That's right, darling readers, we keep you on the edge of your seat, tantalizingly close to the verdict of whether "Queen on Fire Live at the Bowl" lives up to the epicness of "Live Killers." But trust us, the journey we take you on is so hilarious and captivating that you won't want it to end. So strap in, turn up the volume, and get ready to join us on this sidesplitting and rock-filled odyssey of Queen's "Queen on Fire Live at the Bowl." His new album, Call Me JT, produced by Michael Ramos dropped today and is available on all the streaming services as well as on vinyl and CD. Go to justinstewartmusic.com for show dates, vinyl, CD's and more. Next up, I talk to Irish, rock and roll singer-songwriter, Mark Daly! His new EP, "Nothing To Lose" is available now wherever you stream or download your music. We spoke while he was home on a break from from tour opening for Geoff Tate (Queensryche). Go to markdalyoffical.com for music, tour dates, merch and more. We have a great conversation about playing the Monsters of Rock Cruise with Alice Cooper, Buck Cherry and more, his #1 Autism Awareness charity single, "Your World" inspired by his son, writing with Geoff Tate, Cruising with rockstars and much more. Embrace the world music video: https://youtu.be/DeSa1950pdc Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kevin.walsh... Bandcamp: https://kevinwalsh.bandcamp.com/ About Kevin Kevin Walsh is a songwriter, musician, singer and actor who developed his passion for music from an early age, singing before he could talk. He graduated from MTU (formerly CIT) Cork School Of Music with First Class Honours BMus and MA Degrees, having achieved the award of Highest Placed Student for three consecutive years. Participation in numerous supporting and ensemble roles in local musical theatre, television / short film and opera productions informed Kevin's style as a songwriter, combining popular music tropes with the dynamic harmonies and storytelling found on both the stage and screen. Kevin dreams of working in every facet and capacity of the industry, as a singer, songwriter, musician, actor, arranger and producer. His debut single titled Embrace the World, a supergroup collaboration with Irish artists Emma Langford, Ger O Hanlon, Caroline Kay, Stephen Gormley, Molly Lynch, Mark Daly, Lisa Curran and Rebecca Houlihan, is in benefit of AsIAm, Ireland's leading Autism charity. The song debuted on the Irish iTunes Singles Charts and the Irish iTunes Rock Charts at #1, and entered the Irish Homegrown Top 20 in a mere two days of its release. The project is very meaningful to Kevin as he was diagnosed with Autism at the age of five, and it is his way of communicating with the world and assisting a prominent charity ran by autistic people for autistic people. He looks forward to releasing his debut EP later in the year.

The Good Friday Agreement that ended most of the violence in Northern Ireland was signed on April 10, 1998. It is widely regarded as a monumental peace deal after 30 years of violence. Bertie Ahern, who served as Taoiseach or prime minister of the Republic of Ireland from 1997 to 2008, was a key player in the negotiations. On this podcast, Ahern talks with NCSL's Tim Storey on how the deal was struck and what politicians today can learn from the challenges he and his colleagues faced. A core principle he stressed is that both sides need to feel they've won to have a successful negotiation, and both sides must agree the status quo is unacceptable. Ahern is joined by Senator Mark Daly, the Cathaoirleach of Seanad Éireann or chair of the Senate of Ireland. He discussed the critical role of Irish-American relations to his country and new initiative to reach out to state legislators in the U.S.

Nike spends a lot of money sponsoring and marketing some of the best athletes in the world. It doesn’t just back global superstars like Serena Williams and Cristiano Ronaldo on the field, but off them too. It made the American football player Colin Kaepernick as the face of an advertising campaign after he protested against racial injustice by kneeling during the US national anthem. The events of the last few days don’t fit Nike’s preferred narrative. The firm has shut down the Oregon Project, its elite training programme, after the main coach there, Alberto Salazar, was found guilty of cheating by the US anti-doping agency. Nike says it doesn’t accept Salazar was deliberately cheating and is supporting his appeal against the ban. Matthew Price hears from two people who’ve followed this story from the start. The BBC’s Mark Daly first exposed Salazar in a Panorama investigation four years ago. And Matt Lawton, the chief sports writer for The Times, has been inside Nike’s controversial Oregon Project. Ireland have been undone at rugby world cups in many different ways over the years - from Michael Lynagh, to 15-man lineouts, to Juan Imhoff... but we've never been knocked out by a freak weather event before - UNTIL NOW. It turns out there are alternative arrangements in place if indeed a typhoon does roll into town on Saturday and makes our final match against Samoa unplayable... but it's a World Cup, which means we're a little jumpier than usual. Gerry Thornley of the Irish Times joins us from Japan. The World Athletics Championships in Doha have been a bit of a disaster, from the empty stands that we saw at the start of the week to the 4-year ban handed out in the middle of the event to the most recognisable coach in the sport, Alberto Salazar. Salazar's woes began with a BBC Panorama documentary, and we speak today to the maker of that programme, Mark Daly. For years there had been rumours. But they were just that - rumours. Then in 2015, a BBC documentary accused one of the world's top athletics coaches of being involved in widespread doping. This week, Alberto Salazar was banned from the sport for four years after an investigation by the US anti-doping agency. Salazar runs the Nike Oregon Project, which has been home to some of the world’s leading athletes, including, until two years ago, Britain’s four-time Olympic champion Mo Farah. Mark Daly, an investigative journalist for the BBC, has been following this story for more than four years. He tells Caroline the process behind making the documentary and how he got key witnesses to speak up. We’re riding the waves with one of the top names in surfing, Mercedes Maidana. In her own words, she was "truly living the dream, travelling the world chasing waves, until one incident that changed everything". In 2014, Mercedes suffered a head injury at a competition in the United States. She lost her career, sponsorship, house and even her relationship with her husband. Five years on, she now wants to raise awareness of concussion in a sport where it receives little attention. A new sport at next year's Olympics is climbing. We’re in Slovenia speaking to the 20-year-old phenomenon Janja Garnbret, who is already the most successful competitive climber in history. Hear her journey of how she got into the sport and how she is hoping it will be a success at the Tokyo Games. Tottenham Hotspur are away at Brighton this weekend in the English Premier League. But there will be football at their new stadium in north London - American football. The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will host its first-ever NFL game as it welcomes the Oakland Raiders and the Chicago Bears. Joining Caroline on the programme will be a Spurs legend! He scored goals for fun during his 17-year football career, but he also played a season for the London Monarchs American football team. Clive Allen will explain all. Former Australia and Saracens fly-half Michael Lynagh tells Caroline Barker that it is "a miracle" he survived after suffering a stroke in 2012. Seven years on, the World Cup winner is now a commentator, and he tells us his thoughts so far on the 2019 World Cup, plus the key ingredients for winning such a prestigious competition. David Rudisha's name means "to return" in Swahili, and that is exactly what the Kenyan is planning to do. The double Olympic champion is aiming to win a third Olympic gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The world 800m record holder has not competed in the last 18 months due to an injury, and he also escaped unhurt in a car accident earlier this year. This week, Rudisha has been speaking to the BBC's Celestine Karoney about his comeback and how he's been dealing with tragedy in his personal life. Picture - Alberto Salazar (Credit - Getty Images).

EPISODE SUMMARY Deal with disadvantage before unity, argues Senator Mark Daly To achieve a united Ireland without a return to conflict requires northern society to resolve the problems of its communities that contain deep-seated deprivation and alienation, argues Senator Mark Daly. Mark is the former chair of the Oireachtas Good Friday Agreement Implementation Committee and was interviewed for the latest Forward Together podcast shortly after the release of his report, ‘Returning to violence as a result of a hard border due to Brexit or a rushed border poll: risks for youth’. Mark explains: “This report I did in conjunction with two UNESCO chairs who are experts in preventing violent extremism and they make the point that most kids would never get involved in any of that. But that was the same during the Troubles - most people were not involved in armed conflict on either side. But it didn't take much more than a few people to create a huge amount of harm to the whole society. Listen on for the full interview.

Fianna Fáil TD Éamon Ó Cuív has spoken out about the party's partnership with the SDLP saying he is “disappointed” that a merger has been taken off the table. Mr Ó Cuív said a “huge number” of SDLP politicians and members of other political parties would run for Fianna Fáil in the forthcoming local elections in Northern Ireland if the party decided to run candidates. The Galway West TD was speaking to Independent.ie's Floating Voter podcast as Fianna Fail ruled out a merger but announced a partnership with the SDLP in Belfast today. “I hope it is a stepping stone (but) that remains to be seen,” Mr Ó Cuív said “I am disappointed with the arrangement, I have to say. The SDLP is going down and down and down. It is becoming a smaller and smaller party. “If Fianna Fail did organise in the North - the SDLP has gone down so low - there would be a huge number of SDLP representatives who would have just transferred immediately to Fianna Fail,” he added. He said Northern Ireland elected representatives who are currently members of Fianna Fáil are being told to run as Independent candidates in the forthcoming local elections. The long-serving TD said he first learned a Fianna Fáil/SDLP merger was off the table when it was revealed in last weekend's Sunday Independent. Mr Ó Cuív was sacked from the party's frontbench for his role in unveiling Sorcha McAnespy as a Fianna Fáil's first candidate in the North. He said he knew party headquarters would not be “overly pleased” with the decision to announce Ms McAnespy's candidacy but insisted Fianna Fáil needed the “push” to move North. He insisted he accepted his punishment and “hasn't run away” from his involvement with the election stunt which also involved Fianna Fáil senator Mark Daly. Mr Ó Cuív also discussed attempts by Galway County councillors to get him to run in the Presidential election and his work with dissident republicans.

Ireland's main political parties are not split on a traditional left-right model, but instead represent different sides of a bloody civil war in the 1920s. But why is this war spoken about so little today? Could it be that its memory is too painful? Or is it because it still so strangely dominant in modern Irish politics? In this episode, Tim Mc Inerney traces the history of Ireland's Civil War from 1922-23, and how it shaped the country's political landscape. Meanwhile, Naomi O'Leary pays a visits the Irish Seanad or senate in Dublin, where she meets two politicians who have been deeply influenced by Civil War politics, albeit in very different ways. One is Senator Mark Daly, a descendant from anti-treaty rebels still questing for a 32-county Ireland, and the other is Senator Ian Marshall, the first northern unionist ever to be elected to the Irish Seanad.
