L'artista romagnolo classe 1968 è stato ospite nel PN1 di martedì 22 agosto per celebrare assieme a Miky Boselli e Marco Vignoletti questo e altri suoi brani. «Fiky Fiky non è solo una canzone, è una filosofia di vita, si tratta di ciò che l'estate rappresenta per me: follie, caldo, donne e feste» ha detto l'ospite. Quella festa che ama ancora scatenare tra le persone di tutte le età: «Dopo 26 anni vedo ancora scatenarsi i bambini, come gli anziani, sulle note de Il ballo del pinguino, la canzone che ci fece divertire così tanto nel 1997». Here at Castle, we have received questions from investors lately about investing in so-called “stablecoins,” such as USD Coin (“USDC”), Tether (“USDT”), and Dai (“DAI”). Generally, these virtual currencies seek to maintain a value of approximately $1.00 USD. The mechanisms for maintaining this value vary by coin but rely typically on various incentives designed into their minting, burning, and collateral management processes to keep the value of the coin close to the $1 “peg.”Stablecoins continue to attract investors; for example, the research firm Messari.io reports that the value locked in the USDC stablecoin is up roughly 700% for the seven months ended July 31, 2021. In addition to the custody, valuation, illiquidity, and other risks applicable to any virtual currency investment, we believe that investors considering stablecoin investing should consider, at a minimum, the following questions:Who or what is backing the stablecoin?How difficult is it to convert the stablecoin back to USD or other currencies? ● What drives demand for the coin?Backing Stablecoins: Institutions and CollateralAs of July 31, 2021, there are few regulations governing the issuance of stablecoins, including the requirement that each coin issued be “backed” by assets having a value equal to or greater than the number of coins outstanding.However, the market for stablecoin dollars is competitive, and the issuers of USDT and USDC have in recent months been issuing reports showing the value of their “reserves” as of certain dates, as verified by third-party accounting firms.This approach differs from the “decentralized autonomous organization” issuing the DAI stablecoin, which uses a computerized “smart contract” to maintain reserves of various virtual currencies, such as Ethereum and Bitcoin, with a value roughly equal to the number of DAI issued.Following the financial crisis of 2008, which stressed the money-market mutual fund industry, the Securities and Exchange Commission made several rule changes requiring managers of those funds to stress test their portfolio valuations and report the composition of their portfolios timely to the regulator. No such regulations yet exist for stablecoin reserve portfolios. Accordingly, investors should consider carefully whether these reserve assets are sufficient tosupport the value of the coins in circulation and whether the reserves are invested in a way that could fund substantial liquidations in times of market stress without significant losses.Liquidity and ConvertibilityUltimately, the market determines the price of a stablecoin, regardless of the value of the reserve portfolio. In addition to any premium or discount to these reserves, the technology behind the coin (blockchains, lending and staking applications, etc.) can have a significant impact on the returns investors can expect from their stablecoin holdings.When comparing stablecoins, investors should consider:Transaction costs involved in the purchase and sale of the coin (for example, the distributed exchange SushiSwap currently charges 0.05% to exchange USDC for USDT);Any costs associated with moving the coin between wallets and applications (for example, “gas” f

U.S. lawmakers ask the Federal Reserve to consider creating a digital dollar, IKEA settles an invoice on Ethereum, and MakerDAO patches a critical bug. ☕ Buy Me A Coffee: https://glow.fm/mota U.S. Lawmakers Consider A Digital Dollar U.S. Representatives French Hill and Bill Foster sent a September 30th letter to Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, outline concerns they have about risks to the U.S. dollar if another country or private company creates a widely used cryptocurrency, and asked whether the central bank is looking into creating its own version. The letter stated “We are concerned that the primacy of the U.S. Dollar could be in long-term jeopardy from wide adoption of digital fiat currencies. Internationally, the Bank for International Settlements conducted a study that found that over 40 countries around the world have currently developed or are looking into developing a digital currency.” The congressmen also addressed Facebook’s Libra, saying that it could remove important aspects of financial governance outside of U.S. jurisdiction. The letter also mentions J.P. Morgan’s and Wells Fargo’s fiat backed coins. IKEA Settles Invoice On Ethereum IKEA Iceland has used the Ethereum blockchain to settle an invoice with a local retailer, accepting payment in digital cash. The transaction was carried out on a platform provided by supply chain management firm Tradeshift and used programmable digital cash from Monerium’s tokenized krona. Monerium and Tradeshift claim it’s the world’s first transaction showing that government-regulated, programmable e-money is ready for mainstream markets. Gert Sylvest, co-founder of Tradeshift stated “With a ‘smart invoice’ we can issue tokens that represent the future cash flow down to each dollar on the invoice. Whoever holds tokens will get paid upon due date, which makes smart invoices ideal to use for financial-services apps” Tradeshift was notably backed by Goldman Sachs in a $250 million Series E funding round last May. Chainalysis Adds 10 ERC-20 Tokens Chainalysis has added an additional 10 ERC-20 tokens to it’s crypto tracking software. New tokens include Basic Attention Token (BAT), OmiseGO (OMG), Dai (DAI), Maker (MKR) and 0x (ZRX). Chainalysis’ compliance, regulatory and tracking software is a favorite among federal investigators and crypto exchanges. The software tracks and flags tokens with an illicit history, including recent exchange hacks. BitGo Adds Staking Support Custodian platform BitGo has added staking to its services, starting with dash and algorand. Through BitGo Staking, coin holders can earn between 7 and 13 percent annual returns. BitGo said dash and algorand will earn staking rewards while remaining in cold storage. CTO Ben Chan stated “In order to be a great custodian, we need to provide our clients with the ability to use their assets in custody. Staking provides our clients with returns on their investments without ever moving their assets out of custody.” As part of the announcement, BitGo acquired staking infrastructure company Hedge and plans to use its hardware security modules (HSMs) for part of it’s wallet solutions. MakerDAO Patches Critical MCD Bug MakerDAO has patched a critical bug in its Multi-Collateral Dai (MCD) upgrade. HackerOne user lucash-dev revealed the bug via the HackerOne forum and received a $50,000 bounty for uncovering the flaw. Chris Smith, a senior software engineer for MakerDAO, stated “Our auction system allowed the potential attacker to create a fake auction, basically offering very little collateral for a large amount of DAI. The system would trust that number and use it as credit against collateral, allowing the hacker to basically take that other collateral out of the system.” The system could have put more than 10% of the Maker’s total collateral at risk. Luckily, the bug was caught during the testnet, before any users had access to the system. Multi-Collateral Dai (MCD) enables users to stake cryptocurrencies other than ETH as collateral to issue new Dai.

Dai (DAI) is a USD-pegged stablecoin built on the Ethereum blockchain, and has no centralized authority. Its $1 USD equivalent is maintained through automatic pricing mechanisms built into smart contracts. When Dai is worth more than $1, the smart contract pricing mechanisms works to decrease the price. Conversely, when Dai is worth below $1, the smart contract pricing mechanisms works to increase the price. Dai can be freely traded like any other ERC20 token, and anyone with an Ethereum wallet can own, accept, and transfer it without a middleman.

In Nineveh, Katya Grubbs, proprietor of Painless Pest Relocations, expertly wrangles every manner of wild critter, creature or beast with the help of her unwitting nephew, Toby. When she is hired to remove the exotic beetles that have overrun Nineveh, a new luxury housing development on the coast, Katya finds that bugs aren’t the only unwelcome creatures hiding in the new, and supposedly vacant, apartments. As she investigates further, it becomes clear that Nineveh is fast becoming an environmental, not to mention architectural, blunder.  With marshlands encroaching on its borders, and the nearby seaside more menace than attraction, Katya becomes immersed in the world of Nineveh’s few residents—the mysterious caretakers and scavenger crews that survive in its shadow. But soon, Satsuki is appearing at their home uninvited, and when news that Satsuki’s estranged mother has been found dead at a nearby monastery emerges, Daidai is suspicious of her new friend’s intentions. Daidai begins to investigate the death of Satsuki’s mother—an apparent suicide, but Hiroshi is appalled, and Satsuki feels betrayed. To smoothe things over, Daidai accompanies Satsuki to Mito, Japan to visit her wealthy father. Daidai struggles to better comprehend Satsuki’s troubled past and dysfunctional family, and the trip proves increasingly disastrous. Rattled by the events, Satsuki moves in to Daidai and Hiroshi’s apartment and her dangerous and erratic behavior forces Daidai to uncover the secrets of Satsuki’s past.
