One of my dreams is to write a book. When we think about what goes into writing a book, we think of the obvious key players, the author, editor, publisher, agent, publicist, sometimes a ghostwriter, but have you heard of a book coach? I'm so excited to introduce you to the original book coach, Jennie Nash. She's a 10 time author, creator of the Author Accelerator Program, and a book coach who has helped authors land big publishing deals and write the books of their dreams. Are you choosing to be a victim? Did you know that whether you are happy or whether you feel like a victim, those are choices you can make? About 18 months ago, I met my wonderful podcast guest, Meaghan B. Murphy. We were both at a big media event (where I was on stage pitching to speakers, she being one of them), and afterwards, I wrote to her and thanked her for her feedback and critique. We have stayed in touch ever since, and I was so excited to finally have her on the podcast because her story is absolutely incredible. Meaghan is the author of Your Fully Charged Life - where she shares her best tips & tricks for having endless energy and happiness. She is a longtime magazine editor, writer, on-air personality expert, podcaster, and certified trainer (wow!). But, she had a very tough childhood before all that. Growing up, her nickname was “Grumpy” because she was always so miserable and negative. Her teen years were no different as she found herself a raging anorexic to cover up the inner negative turmoil in her head. Her anorexia got so bad that she was admitted to the hospital. Her best friend (also an anorexic) was on her way to the same hospital when she jumped from the car and died. Tormented by her friend's death, Meaghan struggled for many years. But she eventually decided that her mess would become her message. As you listen, you will hear: Her biggest failure + what she learned from it What PERMA Theory is and how it relates to your ability to flourish and be happy One super simple (+ tiny) step you can take tomorrow morning that will noticeably move your happiness needle How she found her sole purpose in life How to eliminate your lack of motivation with 2 simple things Look, life will throw you a sh*tty hand at some point (probably more than once). Making the choice to be happy regardless of that? That is a skill very few people ever learn in life. It won't mean your life will be perfect, but it sure as hell will allow you to flourish despite the chaos. And that is something we all deserve. Hope you love this as much as I did! Having negative thoughts and feeding them rather than finding and embracing the positive in the situation makes you unable to become fully charged.
