Welcome to Day 2514 of Wisdom-Trek. Thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom Day 2514 – Thanksgiving - A Heart of Gratitude, Daily - Psalm 100 Putnam Church Message – 11/24/2024 A Heart of Gratitude – Psalm 100 Last week, Paul's short but powerful letter to Philemon reminds us about the profoundly Christ-centered concepts of freedom, forgiveness, mercy, and grace. This week is our celebration of Thanksgiving; in a message titled “A Heart of Gratitude, daily,” we will absorb Psalm 100 on 937 of your Pew Bibles. Introduction: Thanksgiving is a time when many of us gather with friends and family, enjoy good food, and reflect on the blessed Thanksgiving season. It's a day set aside to express our gratitude, but true thanksgiving—the kind that goes beyond a single day and shapes our daily lives. Thanksgiving is something we are called to embody year-round. Psalm 100 is a short, yet powerful passage that captures the essence of this kind of heartfelt gratitude toward God. Today, we'll walk through this Psalm together and unpack what it means to live with a heart of thanksgiving. Problem Statement: We live in a world where gratitude often gets lost. Life's challenges, stress, and busyness can distract us from focusing on the blessings we have. Sometimes, we focus more on what's missing rather than what we already possess. As Christians, we are called to live differently. We're called to live in a constant state of thankfulness, not just for what God has done but for who He is. Reading Psalm 100:1-5 (NLT): 1 Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! 2 Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy. 3 Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. 5 For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation. Main Points: (Bulletin Insert) Gratitude Starts with Joyful Worship (Psalm 100:1-2) “Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy.” The psalm opens with a call for everyone to shout joyfully to the Lord. This isn't just for a select few—it's a universal call for all the earth! It's a reminder that worship isn't just something we do out of duty or obligation, but it should flow out of a heart full of joy. Illustration: Imagine a little child who runs to greet their father after he comes home from work. They don't just walk quietly to him—they run, they shout, and they jump into his arms with excitement. That's the kind of joyful worship God desires from us. He wants us to come to Him like children, filled with joy and awe. Memorable Point: Thankful hearts lead to joyful worship. When we're truly aware of God's goodness, our natural response is to worship Him with gladness, not out of a sense of duty, but out of sheer delight. Acknowledging Who God Is (Psalm 100:3) “Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.” True thanksgiving...

Matthew 6:19-21 Jesus shares in the Sermon on the Mount about storing up treasures in heaven. What do we find in our storehouses? The third part of our vision statement is to be a daily disciple – what does this mean and how might we insert daily gratitude into the stewardship of our gifts?
Hello Fam, Due to some changes in policies in streaming platforms like Spotify, we would be changing our Sleep Music only content to Guided Meditation + Sleep Music to help you sleep better. As uploading Music Only Tracks would make the Spotify remove our Podcast, so that's the reason for changing To Guided Meditation Tracks. We will also be coming soon with our own Android/iOS app to serve you better. Hope you understand and continue to support us. Had a busy day yesterday where I went to a funeral for the mom of a longtime friend of mine. We have been friends for roughly 53 years and her mom was in her early 90's when she passed away. The church was crowded of course with the impact her mom made on so many people. I also got to spend some time with my parents before the service at their house and then also at the church, because they knew my friend's mom too. Powerful emotions all based around the idea of “relentless gratitude.” The gratitude part was something that I've been focusing on for a long time, and then one of Ben Newman's themes is being relentless. Something he said recently in a post got me thinking about the two ideas being put together. Good things happen when I'm focusing on gratitude more than being distracted with other happenings. The relentless part of the equation seemed to fit together very well. Here is a Facebook Live that I recorded later in the day and I share some reflections. Hope the audio is good enough … one of many things that I need to start focusing on and making a tad bit better. A fabulous day of celebration of a great lady & being around some awesome people too. Welcome to Day 1810 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom Express Your Gratitude – Daily Wisdom Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1809 of our Trek, and it's time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today's trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. So we are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today's trek as we increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2016%3A16&version=NLT (Proverbs 16:16) How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver! If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let's jump right in with today's nugget: Today's quote is from Michael Josephson, and it is: A person of character feels and expresses gratitude freely and frequently. Express Your Gratitude Certain character traits distinguish a person as an upright person from someone who is not honorable. For example, one of the most vital traits of a respectable person is expressing gratitude freely and frequently in nearly every situation. Gratitude in this person is not forced or contrived; it is part of who that person is. Gratitude is tied closely to so many other positive character traits. A person who magnifies appreciation as part of their life will be more joyful. They will get along with people better, and in most cases, will be physically, emotionally, and spiritually healthier. We, as Christ-followers, should always be grateful in all areas of our life. God's Word is full of examples of giving thanks at all times. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ephesians%205%3A20&version=NLT (Ephesians 5:20) And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. As you ponder this nugget of wisdom for yourself, please encourage your friends and family to join us and then come along tomorrow for another day of ‘Wisdom-Trek, Creating a Legacy.' If you would like to listen to any of our past 1809 treks or read the Wisdom Journal, they are available at Wisdom-Trek.com. I encourage you to subscribe to Wisdom-Trek on your favorite podcast player so that each day's trek will be downloaded automatically. Thank you so much for allowing me to be your guide, mentor, and, most of all, your friend as I serve you through this Wisdom-Trek podcast and journal. As we take this Trek together, let us always: Live Abundantly (Fully) Love Unconditionally Listen Intentionally Learn Continuously Lend to others Generously Lead with Integrity Leave a Living Legacy Each Day I am Guthrie Chamberlain….reminding you to 'Keep Moving Forward,' ‘Enjoy your Journey,' and ‘Create a Great Day…Everyday'! Today on the show, you'll meet Shelby Horn, the Master Coach at Bridge 4 Recovery. One of my favorite parts is when Shelby talked about listening to God and walking with Him during those lonely times. It was such an inspirational and encouraging piece of advice to keep my eyes off myself and on God. We also chat about the importance of staying present in the moment, something I am trying so hard to practice myself these days! Be sure to give Shelby some love! "The more I have, the greater the capacity for me to deepen my gratitude to the creative force. And then I get to be a custodian of more of a resource to turn around, and give that away. And here's what's so cool about money. And it's the same thing with a lot of things. The more you have, you actually just created room for more expansion for other people." - Grab your spot to the Welcome Soul Retreat! http://welcomesoul.com/
