On today's show... Is it bad to not want to share the bathroom with your significant other? Milky Ways are not a popular candy bar, right? Are you ready to get your weekend started with some of Luke's dad jokes? Enjoy!
Marilyn Adolph Scarabin gives an update on the giant 50 lbs. over-the-limit package that Helen Mae and the sisters sent. A great camera that D.D. wanted. So much bubble gum and balloons which she'll save most for Christmas instead of giving the kids all of it at once. Included too were many new cassette tapes to record on instead of recycyling the ones from Louisiana. Jason and Deron thank everyone for what they sent. Two-year old Josh Scarabin talks and says he went to Portsite. Louis M. "D.D." enjoyed getting all the "junk" but were really a bunch of "goodies" including some Milky Ways and Snickers. Marilyn and Jason smacking gum. Josh kept wanted to talk but then wouldn't. Happy to hear Saints won 4 preseason games - as usual. Time-Picayune is delivered over there two weeks late. Tell his family hello including Happy Birthday to his dad and sister Judy Willig. Said Marilyn seems to be doing ok despite Carolyn Bergeron reading her handwriting that she's "depressed." Thanked Uncle Emmett, Aunt Yvonne and Aunt Annie. Josh has a stone ax. Marilyn explains a visit from Don Richardson who was a missionary that bought machetes and tools for the native Asmat and Sawi tribes who were cannibals and they didn't kill him. Marilyn explains the tradition of eating their first born and breast-feeding pig then do the opposite for second born. Pig tusks through their noses. Natives digging in the garbage. Marilyn feels sympathy towards them. Josh tells MawMaw he ate some strawberry ice cream. Grateful for everything. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jason-scarabin/message

What Toffee candy is the best? This week we will try out my nomination for the best chocolate candy bar on the market. The chocolate covered toffee candy bar feels less exciting than your Snickers and Milky Ways of the world. But what they lack in pizzazz, they make up for in flavor and texture. The contestants are Heath, Russell Stover's, and Skor. Please like and subscribe and if you have any suggestions, let us know by tweeting us @tastetestdummies or email us at nickandjohnpodcast@gmail.com. SPOILER! Below is a list of which candy corresponds to which numbered cup it was in: 1. Skor 2. Heath 3. Russell Stover

It's all about the Celebrations this Christmas week! Who are the team's Mars Bars, and who are the Milky Ways? Plus, a quiz for all Gulls fans
I saw Lincoln Riley at a grocery store downtown, yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn't want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you're doing now?” I was taken a back, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don't even think that's a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/arewedeadyetfuneral/support

One of the guys also told cops he was "Matt Damon."
10-31 Segment 3 - High quality egg rolls, Scary Movies, best Halloween candy, and the great debate about MilkyWay's
The progenitor galaxies of stellar haloes as "failed" Milky Ways by Sownak Bose et al. on Tuesday 13 September The stellar halo of the Milky Way records the history of its interactions with dwarf galaxies, whose subsequent destruction results in the formation of an extended stellar component. Recent works have suggested that galaxies with masses comparable to the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC, $M_star sim 10^9,{rm M}_odot$) may be the primary building blocks of the stellar halo of our Galaxy. We use cosmological simulations of the $Lambda$ Cold Dark Matter model to investigate LMC-mass galaxies at $z=1-2$ using a semi-analytic model of galaxy formation. We find that LMC analogues at $z=2$ evolve until the present day along three distinct pathways: (1) those that are destroyed in Milky Way-mass hosts; (2) those that are themselves the main progenitors of Milky Way-mass galaxies; and (3) those that survive until $z=0$, with stellar mass $sim$1.0 dex lower than typical Milky Ways. Our model predicts that the properties of these galaxies at $z=2$ (stellar metallicities, sizes, gas content etc.) are more or less indistinguishable, irrespective of which of these pathways is eventually taken; a survey targeting such galaxies in this redshift range would struggle to tell apart a 'destroyed' stellar halo progenitor from a 'surviving' LMC analogue. The only factor that determines the eventual fate of these galaxies is their proximity to a neighbouring Milky Way main progenitor at $z=2$: while the typical separation to a 'surviving' galaxy is around 7 Mpc, it is only 670 kpc to a 'destroyed' galaxy. Our results suggest that the old stellar populations in the Milky Way may be essentially indistinguishable from the progenitors of its stellar halo. arXiv: http://arxiv.org/abs/http://arxiv.org/abs/2209.05493v1

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! Do you hear that? That deep dark growling sound? Is that the sound of the demonic angels of darkness wailing and gnashing their teeth realizing their eternal demise? Nope. It's every kid's stomach after bingeing their Halloween candy of Snickers, Starbursts, Twizzlers, M&M's, Milky Ways, among others after a night of trick-or-treating!Josher shares the history of trick-or-treating here in the U.S., how it has roots in Ireland and England and then sits down with a candy expert -- his nephew Elijah -- to talk about the current trends in trick-or-treating and Halloween Candy. They also try to assess the best and worst Halloween candy currently out on the market, but it ends just as you would expect, it's just Josher and Elijah eating a bunch of candy much to their delight and to the dismay of those suffering from misophonia (Episode 005).So before you head out to trick or treat PUSH PLAY so you can LISTEN TO MY PODCAST ABOUT HALLOWEEN CANDY!!!

Growing up in my big family, as a kid, I didn’t get much candy. So when halloween would roll around, trick-or-treating was a really big deal! After my sisters and I would get back with our pillow cases full of treats, we would do what most kids would do, we would pour it all out and sort it by size, ingredients, and desirability.

Between the interview and 10 questions, you'll hear about filming in New England, writing a movie for a house, what it takes to step into the realm of "elevated horror" (and why that term is nonsense), why Milky Ways are the poor man's Snickers, the awesomeness of Boogie Nights and haunting Mitch McConnell. These days when most of us look at the night sky, we don't see very much. Sure, there may be a few hundred visible if we are outside the reach of the light pollution of cities, we see more. Even the faint white band of the Milky Ways billions of stars. We may pick out a constellation or two, while those who study a bit of astronomy see patterns all over the place. Now and again you may look up there and wonder if there is any life out there, in all that vast space. Around one of those faint white lights doting the sky. When Dr. Karin Öberg looks up at the sky, she sees more than just about anyone else on Earth. When she asks the question about the possibility of life somewhere out there, she knows what to look for and how to look for it. Dr. Öberg is a professor of Astronomy at Harvard University, where her research focuses on astrochemistry, and the processes of star and planet formation. Her expertise gives her a unique view of the composition of habitable planets. Ones in which it would be at least possible for life as we know it to exist. Of course, all her work, looking way out there, also bears tremendously on our understanding of what it means for us to have life here, on this planet. While Host Leonard DeLorenzo is sure it doesn't surprise anyone, that in Dr. Öberg, Harvard boasts of the leading scholars in her field, what may surprise you is that she is a practicing Catholic, who serves on the board of Directors of the Society of Catholic Scientists. Today's episode will be the first part of a two-part episode with Dr. Öberg, as part of the short series we are running on the relationship between science and religion, and our conversation will move between her work, some questions that many of us have of someone with her expertise, and the story of her own faith journey of coming into the Catholic Church during her formative young adult year, while already deeply engaged in serious scientific pursuits. ------ Resources: The Oberg Astronomy Group: https://www.cfa.harvard.edu/~koberg/Home.html ------ Live: www.redeemerradio.com Follow Redeemer Radio on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram: @RedeemerRadio Follow McGrath Institute for Church Life on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram: @McGrathND Subscribe to the Podcast: iTunes | Google Play | SoundCloud

You can pretty much set your watch by the arrival of a new DYNAMITE HEMORRHAGE RADIO podcast, every two or three weeks or so, give or take a few days on either end. Our newest edition is our fortieth (four-zero; #40) and was recorded on the 4th of July in a place where said day is utterly meaningless and uncelebrated. I've been enjoying larding these shows up with new stuff rather than mp3s from my outrageously bountiful mp3 collection (you should see it!), primarily because every two weeks I keep hearing new stuff I think is totally rad.
