Happy Sunday! Welcome to Heal Squad's The Sunday Set Up. Life lessons to help you start the week. This week's episode kicks off with the uplifting lyrics of Belinda Carlisle and blossoms into a spirited talk about the difference between possessing and admiring. Why admiring something—a house, a car, a theater, even success—might bring you more peace than actually owning it. We explore the age of Aquarius, generational disillusionment, and how the old systems just don't vibe anymore. Keven shares why the younger generation seems lost (hint: it's not laziness), and how our unconscious minds obey the scripts we write—whether that's “my relationships never work out” or “I'm not enough.” We revisit Letting Go by Dr. David Hawkins to learn why guilt is just another indulgence of the small self and why stepping into “Selfishness” with a capital S (the empowered Self) might just be the most generous thing you can do. Add in a deep cut from Star Trek, ironic lessons to Captain Lou Albano and you've got this week's Sunday Set Up. Remember, the bullets aren't real. Not theirs. Not yours. Nothing here is permanent—except change. Let go and be present. Happy Mother's Day, Heal Squad! It's another Sunday Setup, still not greenlit but vibing high anyway, as Kev and his co-conspirator Anne ease us into the week. We kick things off with melancholy theme songs, Lutheran Easter specials, and why life isn't about chasing joy or dodging pain—it's about being present for both. (Kitty rollercoaster > Space Mountain. Debate settled.) From there, it's a gratitude deep dive, courtesy of The Magic and Dr. Kim's MindBody work. The lesson? Ungratefulness isn't neutral—it takes from you. So when the negative thoughts hit, stand by... and respond with thanks. Even if it's for the very thing that triggered you. Especially if it is. We also get a simple but game-changing reframe on manifestation. Forget complicated vision boards—just feel the feeling now. Want love? Feel lovable. Want wealth? Feel successful. Want to move like you're still 22? Feel like it—and maybe throw in a basketball. Kev walks us through his own case study, from spiritual mogul-ing to BD(E) energy, all wrapped in gratitude, shadow work, and a few Captain Lou Albano references for good measure. PLUS: meditation tips for movers, ADHD learning hacks, and why window sales legend Big Ed is Kev's new inner mascot. This week's Setup takeaway? You're not waiting to become—you already are. Feel it. Live it. And as always, whether it's pain or joy, remember: nothing here is permanent…except change. DOUBLE TROUBLE: CINDY LAUPER AND MILEY CYRUSTwo towering, Olympian female voices, from different generations, aligning here to honestly testify about their love damaged hearts. They describe world's of hurt, confusion, and finally, triumph in the face of loss. Miley Cyrus “Heart of Glass”I love Miley Cyrus - not only because she carries the flag of peace, love, and musical tradition with her Happy Hippie Foundation, and, at the same time, continues to reinvent herself and confound expectations, but because she's one of the most captivating singers America has ever produced. Here she isn't channelling Debbie Harry's Blondie anthem, so much as honoring the past, and goosing the disco chestnut with rock n roll hydrogen. Displaying the vocal power of a roaring jet plane, Miley conveys a super sonic vibration alongside the mournful cry of an injured wolf. Before I ever saw her, I auditioned for her Disney show, Hannah Montana. I'm glad I didn't get that job, because the Miley that I was finally introduced to was not a preternaturally talented moppet, but it was The Wrecking Ball, the Can't Stop Won't Stop girl - the irresistible force for all that's forward looking in this society, and at the same time Dolly Parton's God daughter. What a combo!Cyndi Lauper “I'm Gonna Be Strong”When Cyndi Lauper emerged from the depths of Queens (my home ground), wearing orange hair and thrift store swag, singing about how Girls just wanna have fun, and mugging on MTV besides Captain Lou Albano, the wrestler, I loved her kookiness, but I was sure that she was not gonna be around that long. Boy, was I wrong. She demonstrated her amazing writing and vocal chops in all genres, spoke her mind faithfully about human rights, and in short order became a feminist icon. She has even scored big as a Broadway composer with the sensational Kinky Boots. For over 40 years she has dominated our national consciousness, and this year, as she makes what she claims is her farewell tour, she continues to represent unwavering notions of integrity, self-respect, and professionalism with undeniable power. Here she is reviving the 1964, Gene Pitney hit composed by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, with a gut wrenching, operatic dynamism that leaves me speechless.

Does it suck today? Eh, maybe a little. But for so many of us, Captain Lou Albano will always be our Mario. I was always crushed when I'd turn it on and find stupid Link and his stupid "Excuuuuuse me, Princess" face. Fortunately, most days it was Mario and Luigi hanging out in their basement apartment/shop in front of a studio audience with celebrities, and that was followed by the sweetest cartoon ever drawn. The animation sucked, but whatever. My buddy Bradley McCue swings by the show this week, and despite the fact that we grew up watching this show in two totally different eras, we had a blast looking back on a massive part of our childhoods. Hey Pisanos! It's the Super Mario Bros. Super Show! And before we go plumbing, I deliver another edition of the Infamous Intro! This week, someone asks if I'd ever consider reviewing games from some of the lesser known retro consoles. What am I gonna play now that I'm done with Mario Wonder and Spider-Man 2?? And why do people like "war" games so much? Plus we play a rare round of 'Watch One, Remake One, Erase One', too! This one features 3 classic gaming cartoons: The Legend of Zelda, Mega Man, and Captain N! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Were you alive in 1985? If you were we bet you won't believe what went down in 1985! In this episode we discuss the major events that happened in and around Wrestlemania 1. For those of you who weren't around, this is an episode that will likely blow your mind. The match this week comes on the heels of the death of the Iron Sheik and it features his tag team championship win alongside his longtime partner Nikolai Volkoff. Although most people remember these two for their singing of the Russian National Anthem and the Sheik's mic work immediately after Volkoff sang, these two were actually really sound workers and this match is a must watch for any true wrestling fan. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/sixmantagpodcast/support
