Wendy and I are thoroughly saddened that the theatrical release of Disney's live action Mulan has been pushed; to cope Wendy and I decided to analyze the trailers that have come out. Wendy brings some historical and cultural education to our analysis, while I just talk about how high my hype level is. Enjoy and drink more tea!  

Directed by Niki Caro (The Zookeeper's Wife) and written by the team behind the newest Planet of the Apes trilogy (Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver), this movie seems like the perfect choice for a live action entry. A cast including Donnie Yen (IP Man, Rogue One), Jet Li (Hero, Once Upon A Time In China) and Yifei Liu playing the titular Mulan. Mulan will be released on March 27, 2020 and has been given a $300 million budget. We talk about the dangers of running on a wall, directly at someone who is also running on a wall. Also, the original villain of the cartoon version, Scott Cahn and whether or not a phoenix should be considered a "fire monster". This is our first episode after a prolonged hiatus and we are glad to be back. We answer the burning questions that you have been wanting answered. Will Mulan pull a horse up a mountain on a rope? Will there be a naked wrestling match in a pond? Will she climb a pole with a couple of gold medals? There’s only one way to find out. This was a light movie week, mostly because I was at home binge-watching and obsessing over Stranger Things. You know, the show I was totally NOT into? Ha!  All that TV time meant little movie theater time.
