JFD is back to help you ease into November and this month we pay tribute to Teri Garr by taking a look at three of the goofiest entries in her filmography. Up first, OG SNL writer Tom Schiller directs a short for Cinemax Comedy Experiment in 1988 titled Flapjack Floozie starring Teri Garr as a turn-of-the-century singer with and addiction for pancakes that almost spells her demise. Then, the director of License to Drive and the writers of Bill and Ted tell the tale of a boring middle-aged suburban couple (the disgraced Jeffrey Jones and the wonderful Teri Garr) who are kidnapped by an alien dictator (Jon Lovitz) in the visually impressive Mom and Dad Save the World from 1992. And finally, Teri Garr plays the mother of a young boy played by Ben Savage who befriends an alien played by Sinbad, who he finds in a box of cereal and helps him defeat an intergalactic threat in the made-for-TV movie Aliens for Breakfast from 1995. All this plus Thanksgiving food rankings, partying with Metal gods, adventures at the drive-in, blu-rays to get you in the holiday spirit and so much more!LISTEN NOW!:MP3 Direct DonloydAlso, if you like the show, please take a minute and subscribe and/or comment on us on iTunes, Stitcher, Blubrry or Podfeed.net. "Mom and Dad Save the World" is a sci-fi comedy film released in 1992, directed by Greg Beeman. The movie follows the quirky and adventurous journey of Jeff and Karen Randall, an ordinary couple from Earth who find themselves transported to the distant and bizarre planet of Spengo.Upon arrival, the Randalls discover that Spengo is ruled by the eccentric and power-hungry Emperor Tod Spengo, portrayed by Jon Lovitz. The emperor, infatuated with Karen, decides to marry her and make her his empress. However, Jeff and Karen, with the help of some eccentric characters on Spengo, embark on a mission to save themselves and the planet from the comically inept and tyrannical ruler.Filled with slapstick humor, imaginative sets, and over-the-top characters, "Mom and Dad Save the World" is a satirical take on classic sci-fi tropes. As the Randalls navigate the absurdities of Spengo, the film explores themes of love, heroism, and the triumph of the ordinary against the extraordinary. It's a light-hearted and entertaining adventure that combines elements of space opera with a generous dose of comedy, making it a cult favorite among fans of unconventional and offbeat cinema.Friends of the Show1 Man Mafia (twitch.tv/1man_mafia)Jayke The Gamer God (twitch.tv/JaykeTheGamerGod)IB Best Gaming (https://www.tiktok.com/@ibbestgaming)Intro for the shopSupport the show'Beavis and Butt-head' Cover art created by Joe Crawford

COVIDleaf Radio's (Cloverleaf) host, "The Host with the Most" "The King of the Quarantine" welcome Actor/Stuntman, Ed Gale! Ed left his hometown two years after graduating from Plainwell High School (Plainwell, Michigan) at the age of 20 with $41 in his pocket and hitched a ride California to pursue his dream of being not a "star", but a steady working Hollywood "actor". His very first experience in the "biz" was auditioning for and subsequently winning the lead role of Howard The Duck. Initially he was told "you are too tall" (he keeps that letter readily available in his living-room and often refers to it with a humble smile). Early in his career, Ed had performed many of his own stunts such as being run over by a big rig, flying on wires, fight scenes, being tossed, thrown & dropped great distances, and crashing through the windshield of a moving vehicle. However, his most impressive stunts just might be his Full Body Burns in the first Child's Play movie and his Full Body Burn while "flying" on wires in Leprechaun 3. Ed Gale has appeared in over 130 Television Shows, Films, and Commercials to date; playing some of Hollywood's most famous (and infamous) characters such as "Howard" in the movie Howard The Duck; "Chucky" in Child's Play, Child's Play 2, and the Bride of Chucky; "Birdie the Early Bird" in one of the very few McDonland's commercials in which "Birdie" actually flew; "Tasha" (the baby dinosaur in the ABC Saturday morning kids show The New Land of the Lost; and the "The Mole" in The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle. Other popular films to Ed Gale's credit include; Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey, Mom & Dad Save the World, and the Christmas Holiday Hit: the Polar Express. Out of Costume, Ed has played some rather notable "human" roles as well; "Hank Tarver" (The District), "Oscar" (3rd Rock from the Sun), "Stan" (Santa, Jr.), "Benson" (Call Me Claus), "Mr. Larry Briggs" (The Hughley's), "Jimmy" (Just Shoot Me), and "Baby Jesus" (Grounded for Life). Ed is probably most recognized for his roles as "Lavalle" (Bones), "Little Prisoner" (My Name is Earl), "Simon McKay" (Baywatch) and as the "Little Man" (O Brother, Where Art Thou?) Ed has starred, co-starred, & guest starred along side of some of the biggest names in Hollywood, the likes of which include: Lea Thompson, Kym Whitley, John Candy, Mel Brooks, Keanu Reeves, Catherine Hicks, Tom Hanks, George Clooney, Matthew McConaughey, Ray Liotta, Charlton Heston, Billy Bob Thornton, Jeffrey Jones, Teri Garr, Hal Sparks, Holly Robinson-Peete, Caroline Rhea, Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz, Bobby Lee and many, many more! Ed Gale is no stranger to Television Commercials either, pitching such products as: Burger King, Toys R US, Cingular Wireless, Best Buy, Progressive Insurance, Nike, I Can't Believe It's Not Butter (with Fabio), Kinko's, Twisted Metal 4, Taco Bell, Polaroid Cameras, Snapple, McDonald's, Holiday Inn, Nissan Cars (Japan), California Eggs, & Sony Video. We face many challenges with how to use technology for security. There's a race to develop screening tech to quickly assess facial images and determine threat levels. AI systems are being developed along these lines, including one called the Avatar (Automated Virtual Agent for Truth Assessments in Real time), a system using AI techniques to assess threat levels, funded in part by the federal government. The subject answers questions on camera during the assessment. The developers claim only 80% accuracy. A cold call lab test scam is costing people their identities and money. Kaiser Health News reports on an ongoing scam operating around the U.S. wherein senior citizens are contacted and told they're due for Medicare directed testing. Contacted by criminals receiving kickbacks, by phone, in person or on social media, the senior may even be driven to undergo genetic testing that Medicare is then grossly over-billed for. Make sure your loved ones know not to agree to any test unless ordered directly by their doctor. Save more, Spend less- Team Clark lives this. You’ve heard of Bond, but what about Matt Helms? When your friends start taking the Bond movies in a direction you don’t like, you go out and buy the rights to another spy novel, of course. Dean Martin plays the hero in this drunken series of a spy films. They’re like spy film lite. Sean Tilley joins us to talk 8th grade biology, quitting villainy to make toy models, and Bond’s alcoholism problem. Join us in our hovercraft with projected scenes in the windows as we get saucy with Dean Martin. Oh look, a misogynist trailer for the film! A A Ron! Sirius Stuff was falsely arrested before they actually caught Sirius Black. Murderers’ Row is the second film in the series, the first was The Silencers. This film and You Only Live Twice largely influenced Austin Powers. Is this a comedy? Paul says at least he knew Doctor Goldfoot and His Bikini Machine was. Sean believes the B.I.G.O. headquarters is something from The Holy Mountain. While Paul thinks set pieces are borrowed from Forbidden Planet. “Juicero tried.” We get a lesson in Mod. Oh hey, Dean Martin’s character “dies” just like Bond in the last movie we watched, You Only Live Twice. The bad jokes abound so much that characters seemingly ignore Dean Martin like he’s Al from Quantum Leap. Is Karl Malden your Pollyanna villain or Chris’ Jack Klugman. Hey, when your dad’s the star of the film you can get your band, Dino, Desi & Billy in the picture. Dean Martin’s blocking during scenes, when he’s not talking, is basically the male gaze. Ironhead is actually Bender? He blows fire! The dancing style has confused us all, including Dean Martin. The parade float dress made of flowers with, yet another crazy, crazy dancing scene. Is Ironhead Inspector Gadget, perhaps? A Knight Rider reference? Yes please. Chris shares his love for Mom and Dad Save the World. Behold the light grenade! Why do we like Dean Martin more in Cannonball Run? Sean thinks this bad film is no The Room. Is it Mike Myers or Michael Myers, we always get those two deadpan comedians confused. That was it for go-go dancing bombs and rat pack references. Thank you for listening and thanks to Sean Tilley for watching this film with us. Will he be back in Our Man Flint?
