If you're a business leader, you're legally obliged to optimize your strategy and resources to maximize shareholder return. This may lead you to assume that it's not your responsibility, or in your best interest, to care about the environment, social, and governance issues (ESG). But, actually, making ESG a part of your business strategy can unlock growth opportunities, reduce costs, and future-proof your brand in the eyes of an increasingly conscious public. Listen to this HRchat episode to learn how!Our returning guest is Scott Lane, Founder and CEO of Speeki, a group focused on transforming compliance hotlines and other compliance areas using Ai technologies. Speeki is also a player in compliance certifications and compliance auditing and one of the few bodies accredited by ISO for certifications under the ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Standard.Questions Include: There seems to be lots of dialogue right now about ESG and whether it is a fad or something that will stay around. What do you think? Is this just for large global companies or is there a place for smaller companies to build ESG?You recently presented a webinar called Combining a whistleblower program with social listening to generate data. The webinar's goal was to show how to generate real data for one's #ESG and compliance efforts by combining an active #whistleblowing program with a proactive social listening tool. Can you tell me more? How do most Human Resources teams get involved in ESG? Does the process typically start with HR or is there a ESG officer?Where do you think this ESG area will go in the future?Want to hear more about Speeki? Check out HRchat episode 357, released in late 2021.We do our best to ensure editorial objectivity. We live in a digital world where a desktop and a suite of applications can be made available on any device. But did you know that there are 2.7 billion deskless workers worldwide, comprising over 80% of the total workforce? This episode explores how frontline workers also need to be connected and access multiple applications during their shift. After hearing how ow Zebra Workstation Connect is making it possible to turn Zebra mobile computers into mobile-driven workstations. We felt compelled to learn more about how they do it and their relationship with Citrix. Join Tech Columnist Neil C. Hughes, Scott Lane from Citrix, and Lesly Gonzalez from Zebra technologies in a conversation about the future of mobile-driven workstations front frontline workers. We also discuss how Workstation Connect simplifies the management process of managing the growing number of devices, desktops, and applications.
Compliance is a critical function of the HR department. HR is tasked with making sure that hiring practices, workplace rules, treatment of employees, and a variety of other factors all comply with the relevant laws. In today's episode, we will talk about compliance and suggest some ways that one's compliance reporting platform can lift the load and open up new insights. Bill's guest this time is Scott Lane, Founder and CEO of Speeki™, a group focused on transforming compliance hotlines and other compliance areas using Ai technologies. Questions For Scott Include: How can we begin to build companies and workforces rich in integrity and with a common set of shared values? You recently offered ten top ways to use one's compliance reporting platform to drive value. Can you share some of those with us now? In February 2021, Speeki surveyed global compliance officers to assess what their thoughts were on the ‘value' of compliance to a business. The survey found that only around 20% of participants effectively map against business goals, with the remaining 80% attempting to align their goals with the business but doing so poorly. What can happen to performance when goals are not mapped against the business correctly or even at all? Let's talk about the employee voice. If employees don't (feel like they) have a voice inside the company, then won't they just go outside the company to voice their concerns? E.g. Glassdoor or quitting. How important is dialogue to retention during this Great Resignation? How can companies build an ecosystem where people feel comfortable raising issues without fear of retaliation? We do our best to ensure editorial objectivity. The views and ideas shared by our guests and sponsors are entirely independent of The HR Gazette, HRchat Podcast and Iceni Media Inc.

Scott Lane is the Founder and CEO of Loud Labs News, a news content and gathering organization that was featured in the 2017 Netflix Documentary "Shot in the Dark". Although Netflix shined the spotlight on the Stringing Industry, which is freelance journalists who contribute to news and media companies, it has been around since the 1990's. Loud Labs was founded in 2012 and headquartered in Los Angeles, but has now expanded to New York, Detroit, and now LAS VEGAS.Scott Lane is a pioneer of the Stringing Industry. He began working with OnSceneTV in the late 1990's and later with RMG in the early-mid 2000's, both who appeared in the Netflix Documentary. Scott was given the "heel" role for his aggressive and eccentric style when it comes to capturing the "perfect shot". His Netflix character precedes his authentic and kind-hearted personality who is currently spearheading the global Stringing Movement. |ScottLane|-LoudLabs.com-LoudLabs Youtube Page-@ScottLane_|JakeGallen | TheGuestListPod|-Instagram | -Instagram -Twitter | -Twitter -Facebook | -Facebook-Linkedin | -Youtube|FLOW OF THE SHOW|[0:00] Introduction[1:30] Navigating LA[4:45] Right place, right time? Stepping back for a moment of reflection, Kyle Davis realizes now, perhaps more than ever, that music can be a vehicle for change. No stranger to success, his music has received attention from Sony Records and Phil Ramone via Don Dixon, four stars from Rolling Stone and a cover feature in Billboard Magazine calling him “one of the best unsigned artists.” In addition, Davis has shared the stage with the likes of Bob Dylan, John Mayer, Shawn Colvin, The Wallflowers and Sheryl Crow. While Davis has received extensive accolades over the course of his career, Make it Count is about more than simply making music. Woven together with the wisdom of life’s profound experiences, Make it Count offers a timeless reflection encouraging listeners to make the most of the time that they have. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCUZ1GMyxVk&feature=emb_title Created by Mikan Media, the music video for the title track, “Make it Count,” expresses Davis’s amazement at our inability to affect time’s linear motion. Struck by nostalgia upon looking at an old photograph, the video features Davis driving by the house where he grew up, speaking to the creases in each of our timelines while paying homage to Davis’s personal history; the song lyrics note how his family disintegrated a little after they moved and also serves as a place for Davis to say he misses his Dad - something he needed. Illustrating shared human experiences, the music video also features a few real stories including one of grief through the eyes of a woman looking upward in a church, holding a picture of her brother who took his life; it also tells of rebirth and life through the eyes of a young mother with her child. Notably, the song expresses how we get many chances but each one only once. Produced by Scott Lane and Stewart Myers, Make It Count features Daniel Clark on organ, piano, and whirly, Charles Authur on mandolin, pedal and steel, Carter Gravatt [Carbon Leaf] on mandolin, acoustic, pedal steel, Mike Durham and Scott Lane playing electric guitars, as well as drummers, John O’Reilly and Pinson Chanselle, and Stewart Myers and Scott Lane on bass, as well as backing vocalists Kenneka Cook and Scott Lane. Davis began recording in his early 20s, spawning a string of albums -- Kyle Davis, Waiting For You, Raising Heroes, Don’t Tell the World, and River City Gang -- which harnessed national attention and effectively expressed a keen sense of melody, infectious energy and hooks that sank in quickly and refused to let go. These days, Davis is more eager than ever to rekindle his career, and remains inspired by his love of music and a desire to connect with others.

In this podcast, J. Warner Wallace is interviewed by Scott Lane on his Tru-ID Podcast. They discuss the evidence for Christianity, the importance of developing a “forensic faith” and the growing racial tension in America. For more information about Scott’s weekly radio show and to listen to other episodes, please visit the Tru-ID Podcast homepage.
J.Warner Wallace is an internationally known Christian apologist and author of several books such as Cold Case Christianity, God's Crime Scene, and his most recent work Forensic Faith. J. Warner Wallace has a unique approach to apologetics that flows from his professional background as a cold case homicide detective. In fact my listeners may recognize J. Warner Wallace from his role as a testifying detective in the movie God's Not Dead 2. In this episode Scott Lane and J Warner chop it up about how he applied his skillset from being a cold case homicide detective to investigate the historical evidence for the life of Jesus and the Christian worldview. Also, given his background in law enforcement I couldn't help but strike a dialogue with him on the issue of police misconduct and the criminal justice system. J Warner's perspective on this will likely surprise a lot of my Tru-ID family out there.... Key Points: Journey from atheist homicide detective to believer in Christ Historical evidence for Jesus and the Gospels How does apologetics fit in with evangelism Forensic Faith J Warner's take on police conduct, interaction between the Criminal Justice system and the black community, and solutions

The Tao of Sports Podcast – The Definitive Sports, Marketing, Business Industry News Podcast
Scott Lane has been overseeing one of the more unique minor league baseball franchises in the West Michigan Whitecaps, but that didn’t prepare him for one of the ultimate national stories that involved his operation in January 2013 when the White Cap’s stadium press box burned to the ground. Lane talks about the rebuilding effort of the club, including various ways that they not only rebuild, but grew their ticket base during the off-season when the team’s future was never in doubt. Lane discusses the White Caps’ incursion into the auto racing world, along with lessons learned in promotion and audience acceptance, and expands on what happens when the team’s 4,100-calorie Fifth-Third Burger drew the attention of Man Versus Food’s Adam Richman.
