Midlife is often a time of big transitions. Giving up alcohol can also create monumental shifts. As we move through these transitions, we sometimes leave parts of ourselves behind, and sometimes we leave others behind. My friend and fellow coach Aimee Ames has been on her own transitional journey, including going back to school to become a Functional Nutritionist, redefining her relationship with alcohol and ending a 23-year marriage. Along the way, Aimee discovered that 'you are your one true partner'. I love this saying as it reminds me of what I came to recognize in my own path: the one person who will be with you at the end, is you. I am excited to share this conversation with you. Aimee is an incredible human who shares her wisdom freely and shares the difficult parts as well. Amy also talked about her work with the Somatica Institute, training as an intimacy coach and a sex and relationship coach. Find out more in the Show Notes HERE

My conversation with Christie Watrous expands my limited viewpoint…again. We unpack what it means to connect with our bodies and each other, defining intimacy and pleasure in REAL terms. Spoiler alert: intimacy and pleasure are not always sexual and wow sometimes they are - AND it can look different than what the culture dishes up. As the founder of Embodied Life Transitions, Christie brings her personal experience of transformation and empowerment to our discussion, offering insights into reclaiming our bodies and desires. We talk candidly about our need to deconstruct shame narratives and embrace the pursuit of pleasure, which extends beyond the confines of the bedroom and into the joy of our simple daily rituals, from sipping a warm beverage to soaking in the melody of our favorite tune.Christie and I confront our individual and collective truths - from unhealthy self-concepts to narratives that frame the end of a marriage as failure. Awakening is just a beginning. What follows the initial shift of perspective is a continuous opening to aliveness, to intimacy, to presence and peace that is beyond words and understanding. I talk to Adam about his journey as an individual and a teacher. We look at strong emotions as shame, guilt, remorse around being yourself and sexuality. Adam Chakcsfield is a spiritual teacher who shares the openness of nonduality, the intimacy of love, and the aliveness of erotic life energy. He grew up in England, but now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. Adam first turned to spirituality and meditation after a series of profound psychedelic-assisted openings led him to the truth beyond all philosophies.Adam began inviting his friends to do nondual inquiry with him and was amazed by the ease with which the direct experience of openness could be shared. In 2010, with Peter Fenner's encouragement and support, Adam started to share nonduality with groups and individuals where he was living in rural Illinois. His work grew organically from there as Adam was invited to teach in nearby cities, then the San Francisco Bay Area, Canada, and Europe. The way Adam supports healing and transformation has been greatly influenced by the heart-centered softness and full-bodied aliveness of Jeannie Zandi's teaching. His retreats and private sessions bring loving awareness to the depths that reveal themselves as we become more intimate with our embodied experience.More recently, Adam enjoyed a potent erotic opening after connecting with the teaching of the Somatica Institute. After training with Somatica, he began working with groups and individuals on erotic embodiment and intimacy, despite the way this crucial dimension of our experience is treated as taboo in most “spiritual” settings. Adam also created the Erotic Embodiment & Intimacy course to support people becoming free and empowered in the realm of eros and intimate relating.Adam's website:https://www.adamchacksfield.comIf you need assistance with your own inquiry come to Liberation Unleashed where you can register for a free account and get a volunteer guide completely free of charge. Childbirth is not just a physical act; it's the ultimate confluence of sensuality, power, and transformation! Join Dr. Danielle Harel as she redefines the concept of the intersection of sexuality and childbirth. Emphasizing the transformative power of breath and mindful movement, she reveals how the pelvic floor is the nexus of empowerment. Challenging societal norms, Dr. Harel paints birth as an orgasmic, sensual experience. Tune in, reconnect with your body, and explore the potent blend of sexuality in motherhood. Don't miss this enlightening journey! Dr. Danielle Harel is the co-creator of the Somatica Method and the co-founder of the Somatica Institute. She has a Ph.D. in Human Sexuality (DHS), a graduate degree in Clinical Social Work (MSW), and a Bachelors (BA) degree in Psychology and Educational Counseling. As a somatic sexologist, professor, and author, Danielle has devoted the last 20 years to resolving her client's sexual challenges, training sex & relationship coaches, and empowering people. In this episode: Introduction of Dr. Danielle Harel, co-creator of the Somatica Method, who has done extensive research on orgasmic birth, discussing the role of sexual empowerment in women's empowerment Danielle's personal journey of her not-so-empowered birthing experiences and her realization about the lack of embodiment in traditional birth education Her research reveals two main groups of people regarding orgasmic birth: those who proactively use sexuality during childbirth for empowerment and connection and those who unexpectedly experience orgasms during childbirth Dr. Harel introduces a practice focusing on deep inhalation, extending breath awareness down to the pelvic floor, with this, individuals can cultivate heightened sensations and an intensified connection with their sexual energy Through her training sessions, she assists individuals in reconnecting with their bodies, advocating for people to actively acknowledge and reclaim different parts of their bodies As individuals become more sexually empowered, they often experience a renewed sense of aliveness Addressing the societal dichotomy between motherhood and sexuality, Dr. Harel underscores that birth is an inherent part of the life cycle and is closely linked to sexuality Dr. Danielle offers training for professionals to become sex coaches and a workshop called In Love to help people learn tools of relating and sexuality Key Takeaways: Understanding and harnessing sexual energy can transform your life and your birth Sexuality and orgasms can help the body relax, feel safe, and expand during childbirth Sexual empowerment is about feeling alive and connected to our erotic energy Taking deep breaths and squeezing the pelvic floor can help us become more sensitized to our bodies Bringing awareness to the pelvic floor and breathing into it can help sexual empowerment Holding hands on the belly and saying "this is mine" can be powerful Feeling alive, joy, pleasure, and being able to say yes/no more clearly are benefits of connecting with erotic energy Integrating sexuality in birth can be challenging but beneficial Tweetable Quotes: "So when people embody and connect with the erotic energy, their accessibility to the turn ons is much higher. They feel more joy, they feel more pleasure walking day in and day out in the world. They are just more alive." - Danielle Harel "We're not just like walking heads. There's so much more of us than our brains, and living fully in our body is such a much more expended way of living." - Danielle Harel Connect with Danielle!
