Lule and Jae give their review on this seventh installment in the Transformers live-action film series which serves as both a standalone sequel to Bumblebee (2018) and a prequel to Transformers (2007). Set in 1994, ex-military electronics expert Noah Diaz (Anthony Ramos) and artifact researcher Elena Wallace (Dominique Fishback) help the Autobots and the Maximals protect an artifact known as the Transwarp Key from the villainous Terrorcons who intend to use it to bring their master Unicron to Earth.

We're back with the next installment of our summer series, and this time we're returning to one of our respective favorite settings. Dom is joined by Luk of Luk Reviews to break down the first live action Transformers installment since 2018's Bumblebee, "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts." Directed by Stephen Caples, Jr. of Creed II fame, this installment takes place in 1994 and sees the Autobots attempting to claim the Transwarp Key which would allow them to return home to Cybertron after they've been marooned on Earth. Along for the ride is disgraced former military operative turned car thief Noah Diaz (Anthony Ramos) and museum intern Elena Wallace (Dominique Fishback), as they help the Autobots interact with the Maximals, a separate race of Transformers that transform into animals rather than cars and trucks. Together, these two factions face off against the Terrorcons, who seek to claim the Transwarp key for their master, the planet devourer Unicron. The film features a voice cast that includes the likes of Peter Cullen, Ron Perlman, Pete Davidson, Michelle Yeoh, Peter Dinklage, Cristo Fernandez & Colman Domingo. Dom & Luk break down how this compares to the previous installments in the series, what this film lacks versus how it honors the Beast Wars cartoon, and where it ranks for them in the Transformers canon. I've grown up owning a LARGE amount of Transformers toys and enjoying some of the early material but these movies really burned me by Age of Extinction and The Last Knight. I'm a fan of Steven Caple Jr's work from Creed II so I was really pulling for him to make the first great MAINLINE Transformers movie (I REALLY liked Bumblebee). In this episode of the Twincast/Podcast, “Toy Fair 2018”, we join ScottyP along with Tigertrack and xRotorstormx as they discuss all the exciting news coming out of New York's Annual Toy Fair event. The episode starts off with the cast's take on the fully revealed upcoming Titan Class Predaking from the Transformers Generations Power of the Primes series. In the latest episode of the Twincast/Podcast, "NYCC 2017", the latest reveals from Takara Tomy and the new products showcased at this years New York Comic Con are discussed in depth, some garnering prase while others raise questions. Our discussion begins with two reveals from Takara Tomy that seemed to be a given but still a pleasant surprise, Grand Maximus and Greatshot. We then take a look at the figures revealed at NYCC including the Terrorcons, more Pretender decoy shells and the last of the monsterbots, Grotusque. Botcon may be gone but it appears the shattered glass concept is alive and well in Hasbro's mind with the upcoming Rodimus Unicronus figure, which raised some questions with the crew. We take a break from the toy talk to answer a few listener questions including how to avoid burnout in terms of collecting, current distribution issues and its effect on buying in store versus online, as well as a fun question about which alt modes we would like to see more of. We have a brief round of Trainbot bragging rights before wrapping up with a special segment from the TFcon Podcast Panel.

NYCC 2017 happened this week right after the DC TFCon and we had more reveals for Power Of The Primes including the Terrorcons and coloured versions of the Volcanicus. But that's not all there were other bits of news over the week for Andy and Mikey to talk about including comic summaries for the Legends Sharkticon, Hot Rod and Kup comics, there was also more early G1 concept art.
