Iconic Crossover Confirmed: G.I. Joe Meets Transformers in Upcoming Film

In a thrilling announcement that has fans of both franchises buzzing, Paramount Pictures has confirmed the upcoming crossover movie featuring G.I. Joe and the Transformers. This iconic union, hinted at in last summer's "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts," is set to bring together these two legendary Hasbro brands in a cinematic spectacle. The exciting venture will be executive produced by none other than Steven Spielberg, a nod to the seriousness with which the studio is treating this ambitious project. While the film currently has no director attached, the concept was originally developed by Steven Caple Jr. during the making of "Rise of the Beasts." Lorenzo di Bonaventura, a name synonymous with the Transformers franchise, will return to produce the film alongside Mark Vahradian, Michael Bay, Tom DeSanto, and Don Murphy. This powerhouse team has been integral in shaping the Transformers universe and are now poised to do the same with this crossover. Brian Robbins, CEO of Paramount Pictures, announced during CinemaCon this morning that di Bonaventura's production deal at the Melrose Lot has been renewed, ensuring that the veteran producer will continue to bring his expertise to this and other exciting projects. This crossover draws on a rich history, dating back to the 1980s when G.I. Joe and the Transformers shared storylines in Marvel comics, creating epic narratives that fans still reminisce about. This film aims to capture that nostalgia while introducing these characters to a new generation of viewers. As anticipation builds, fans eagerly await more details about the film's plot, cast, and eventual release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this groundbreaking cinematic event.

Veteran composer Jongnic "JB" Bontemps took a long and winding road to film scoring. Despite showing an early passion for scoring (and studying music at Yale), he didn't immediately enter that world. Instead, he sought a tech career, becoming a software developer and entrepreneur. But music came calling again, and JB found himself studying film scoring and building a career as one of the industry's top composers.   After years of building his bona fides working under various A-list composers and scoring video games like Redfall and shows like Godfather of Harlem, he's found himself with his highest-profile work yet: Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Building off his childhood love for the robots in disguise and the groundwork that composer Steve Jablonsky had laid for him in the Michael Bay films before that, JB worked with Rise of the Beasts director (and longtime collaborator) Steven Caple Jr. to assemble a suitably robust, muscular, and era-appropriate score for the '90s-set throwback blockbusters.   Together, JB and I talk about all of this -- his winding path to film composing, the value of building a team and working with valued collaborators, and using music to mark Rise of the Beasts' distinct globe-trotting adventure and '90s aesthetics.   You can find Jongnic Bontemps at his official website.   Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is currently playing in theaters, and you can listen to the score on your preferred platform courtesy of Milan Records.

Check out all of our other Stranded Panda Podcasts! www.strandedpanda.com Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universes Disney announced major shake-ups to its release schedule with far reaching effects to some of the biggest franchises under its belt. Most notably, the Marvel slate has seen a complete overhaul with Phase 5 film Captain America: Brave New World shifting dates from May 3, 2024 to July 26, 2024, which in turn, delays the Thunderbolts to December 20, 2024. Similarly Phase 6 is seeing Blade and The Fantastic Four pushed to February 14, 2025 and May 5, 2025 respectively. Perhaps the biggest impact is both phase-culmination Avenger films being delayed by a full year each, with The Kang Dynasty now eyeing a May 1, 2026 release and Secret Wars set for May 7, 2027. After languishing in development hell, The Flash is finally set to hit theaters later this week and the film's press tour is in full sprint! Star Ezra Miller has been noticeably absent, as the studio has focused on marketing and promoting the film itself, rather than its star, which is unsurprising given Miller's problematic past behavior. While early reviews are positive and there is certainly buzz around the flick, box office projections for its opening are soft at around $70 to $75 million. Director Andy Muscheitti has featured heavily in the film's promotion and while there won't be a script until after the writer's strike ends, he is reportedly the frontrunner for the DCU's Batman reboot: Batman: The Brave and The Bold. The Autobots and Maximals rolled out in fine fashion last weekend, taking the top spot at the box office with a $61 million domestic debut. That was enough to narrowly beat out Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in its second weekend, which saw a strong and impressive $55.4 million hold. The Transformers sequel/prequel from Creed II director Steven Caple Jr. is a recent series best, beating 2018's Bumblebee which opened to $21.6 million and 2017's The Last Knight's $44.6 million debut. According to industry insiders, Nintendo and Illumination are reportedly close to finalizing a deal for the next entry in the Nintendo film franchise: The Legend of Zelda. More Nintendo films were a given in the wake of The Super Mario Bros. Movie's unbridled $1.6 billion success, with many fans clamoring for a Zelda adaptation specifically. Always the shrewd business, Nintendo is apparently aware of the franchise's potential as the insider reports also suggest that obtaining rights will cost Universal “a pretty penny.” Adult Swim has released a new trailer for the upcoming animated series My Adventures with Superman, starring Jack Quaid as Superman. Ahsoka will begin streaming on Disney+ on August 23rd. (We originally reported a rumor that it would be streaming 8/31). Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is currently tracking for a $60+ million dollar domestic box office outing. This lackluster projection comes on the heels of lackluster reviews, a sparse marketing campaign, and a crowded summer blockbuster listing of films. Tom Holland announced that following the emotional weight of his upcoming AppleTV+ series The Crowded Room, that he is taking a year off from acting. Holland recently described the role as leading to "a bit of a meltdown" in his personal life. The first 5 minutes of the upcoming Marvel series Secret Invasion is now available to view online. The first episode of the series begins streaming on June 21st. Lucasfilm Games has released the first cinematic trailer for the upcoming Star Wars game Star Wars Outlaws. A gameplay trailer was also shown and the game was described as the “first open world star wars game” 'Stan Lee,' an original documentary on the life and impact of Marvel comics creator Stan Lee arrives on Disney+ this week on June 16th.

The Transformers franchise is back, but only sort of? This week on Cinemaholics, we discuss Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. The new film takes place in the 90s and departs from the mainline Transformers movies by Michael Bay. It's maybe barely a sequel to Bumblebee, the prequel we declared as the best Transformers by default in 2018. But this time around the Autobots, still led by Optimus Prime, team up with new allies inspired by the Beast Wars cartoon to stop a worldwide alien threat you probably don't care about. That said, Jon and Will don't fully see eye-to-eye on this one. So stay tuned to hear where they both ultimately land on this transformative new take on the series. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts was directed by Steven Caple Jr. (Creed II) and written by Joby Harold, Darnell Metayer, Josh Peters, Erich Hoeber, and Jon Hoeber. The cast includes Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback in live-action roles, with the voice cast including Ron Perlman, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Yeoh, Liza Koshy, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Pete Davidson, Colman Domingo, Cristo Fernández, and Tongayi Chirisa. Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal, together, fighting to keep Earth safe along some unlikely human heroes. We dug Steven Caple Jr.'s transportation of the franchise into the 90s for the first time and thought the action, the humor, and the heart were all very solid and helped deliver one of the better films featuring the robots in disguise so far. We question whether there was enough use of the Maximals, discuss the surprise at the end, and try to think through what a perfect Transformers movie would even look like, plus so much more.* Note - full spoilers in effect for entire episode *Follow & SubscribeAaronTwitterFacebookLetterboxdPatrickTwitterAn Original Series Podcast TwitterFeelin' FilmFacebookTwitterWebsiteLetterboxdEmail feelinfilm@gmail.comFeelin' Film on Apple PodcastsFeelin' Film on SpotifyFeelin' Film on RepodFeelin' Film on StitcherFeelin' Film on PodchaserNow Playing NetworkJoin the Facebook Discussion GroupJoin the DiscordRate/Review us on iTunes and on your podcast app of choice! Fabulous Film & Friends

This week on Fabulous Film and Friends we're continuing our discussion of the Rocky/Creed franchise with an in-depth comparison of the two Russian-themed sequels in the series: 1985's Rocky IV directed by and starring Sylvester Stallone, along with Talia Shire, Burt Young, Carl Weathers, Tony Burton, Brigitte Neilsen and Dolph Lundgren with 2018's Creed II, directed by Steven Caple Jr. and starring Michael B. Jordan, Sylvester Stallone, Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashad, Florian Munteanu, Brigitte Nielsen and Dolph Lundgren.  I'm joined by a man who can well-relate to long winters, bloody knuckles and empty vodka bottles, the master of plastered, the duke of downstage, the one and only Gordon Alex Robertson The synopses:  Rocky IV follows up the slick, high energy, music video style of 1982's Rocky III with an even slicker, yacht-rock and montage laden tale of triumph, pitting Rocky Balboa  against superhuman Russian powerhouse Ivan Drago after Drago kills Rocky's nemesis turned friend and mentor Apollo Creed in an exhibition match in Las Vegas. Rocky travels to Russia where he trains super hard with logs and horse-drawn carriages and boulders to beat Drago in an epic, blood-curdling battle to the death. Who wins? All one had to do was look at the Rocky IV poster to find the answer to that one.More than 30 years later, Creed II continues the story in Ukraine where Ivan Drago trains and grooms his equivalently vicious and menacing boxer son Victor so they can pull themselves out of obscurity, humiliation and poverty to challenge Rocky Balboa's heavyweight champion protégé Adonis Creed to a title bout. Rocky, sensing danger, refuses to train Adonis and so an angry Adonis takes on Victor with Little Duke Evers in his corner as trainer and is given a brutal beating by Young Drago. Adonis is only saved the humiliating loss of his title by a disqualifying cheap shot given by Victor while Adonis was down on the canvas. Adonis recovers but is reticent to fight Victor again until Rocky comes back in his life and agrees to train him in a spare and hardcore fashion so Adonis will not only  to be capable of enduring a savage beating but to be able to deliver one as well.  Who wins?Find out!
