Come along as we follow Toaster, Lampy, Blanky, Radio, and Kirby (he's a vacuum - we don't know why he gets a real name either) as they embark on a journey through the wilderness and into the city to find their Mast... Er, their "owner". Will the appliances be reunited before they are: thrown off a waterfall, sucked into quicksand, kidnapped by appliance Ed Gein, thrown into a dumpster, and almost turned into blocks of metal!? Well technically no since all of those things happen BEFORE they are reunited... But don't worry we all somehow make it out in the end! Released in 1987, it was based on the novel of the same name written by Thomas M. Disch.

Disch (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Petit_Grille-pain_courageux). After a haitus, Aly & Sarrah have returned! This week they are discussing a child-hood, nostalgia inducing, classic: Disney's (now) The Brave Little Toaster, from 1987! Aly as usual, starts us off with a biography on the author of the original novella - Thomas M. Disch. We learn that once again, writers sometimes have awful lives. She also breaks down some differences in the plot points of the book and the film. Sarrah talks studio and how this WAS a Disney movie, LEFT Disney, then came BACK to Disney. It's a saga. We then break down all of the very talented voice actors who took part in this film, talk video release and reviews, and wrap up with a bit of a discussion on sequels and nightmare toasters. Our walk-through has us discussing the problem with plugs, questioning whether there were dirt jokes involved, and generally wondering who plays with appliances as a child. So let's go on a journey together to find our own bravery and talk about the Brave Little Toaster! Podcast Music by: bradleyparsons (via Fiverr)

Kommt, folgt uns nach… Manhattan. ¡¡Pasen y escuchen!!

As the bleak winter pummels us with ice and illness, John E. O. Stevens, Fred Kiesche and Jeff Patterson muster the strength and lucidity to write February off as a loss and trudge forward in search of the mythical Springtime. First, they discuss the death of Leonard Nimoy, and his impact on SF and Fandom. Then they turn to the subject of Thomas M. Disch, whose works broke genre conventions on an almost industrial scale. The gentlemen recall their introductions to the author’s work (including fiction, non-fiction, and poetry), and his legacy in SF. There follows a litany of culture consumed, and some talk about whooshing doors, online shrieking, and myopic definitions of “fan.” Host Fred Kiesche, John E.O. Stevens and Jeff Patterson.
