Terrorists are like cockroaches… you don't see how many there are until you turn on the light! But, they're on the ‘ground floor' of today's headlines from Elections to the Olympics. And the purpose of The Terrorist Therapist® Show podcast, hosted by Carole Lieberman, M.D., is to ‘turn on the light' so everyone can understand the threatof global jihad and how to stop it from destroying our lives. In this episode, we start off by analyzing reports of Iran's involvement with the assassination attempt on former President Trump. Of course, Iran denies it, but they still posea threat to Trump's life - not only for revenge, but also because they fear a Trump presidency. Unlike Obama, Bidenand Kamala, a President Trump wouldn't be their BFF. You'll also hear how Iran doesn't deny that they are funding the widespread Pro-Hamas protests. Next, we'll look at Netanyahu's visit to Washington, D.C. -from the maggots the protesters dumped into the Watergate Hotel, where he and his delegation was staying to the anti-American (not just anti-Israel) violence in the streets to the speech he gave before Congress - and who was glaringly absent. He received many standing ovations, including for his simile: “Gays for Gaza are like Chickens for KFC.” Finally, we turn to the Olympics and the ever-present cloud that terrorism holds over it: death threats to Israeli athletes, arson attacks on the French train network, comparison to theMunich Olympics and more. Looking to the future, Dr. Carole warns of how a White House that befriends terrorists will not only endanger Israel, but America, as well.

In 1972, five clumsy burglars broke into the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate Hotel. They were armed with tear gas pens, wads of cash, and enough surveillance equipment to make the NSA blush - and they were immediately caught. What could've been written off as the dumbest burglary in history swiftly unraveled through leaks from gossip queen Martha “Mouth of the South” Mitchell and an investigation by reporters Woodward and Bernstein. Suddenly it became clear that the bonkers attempt to cover up the crime went all the way to the top - and President Richard Nixon was going to pay for it. This Day in Legal History: Watergate Burglary Trial BeginsOn January 8, 1973, a trial commenced that would eventually etch its name into the annals of American legal history. Seven men stood accused in a Washington DC courtroom, all linked to the now-infamous break-in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters, located in the Watergate Hotel. This event, which unfolded on June 17, 1972, sparked a series of revelations that would have profound implications for American politics and the legal system. The trial, led by Judge John J. Sirica, uncovered a complex web of political espionage and sabotage. Evidence presented during the proceedings pointed to the involvement of high-ranking officials in the Nixon administration. This raised alarming questions about the abuse of political power at the highest levels of government. The defendants, including operatives of the Committee to Re-Elect the President (CRP), faced charges ranging from burglary to conspiracy and wiretapping. The prosecution's case was bolstered by the discovery of a secret taping system in the White House, which provided crucial evidence. These tapes would later play a central role in unraveling the cover-up efforts by Nixon's aides. The trial set in motion a chain of events that led to extensive investigations by the media and a Senate committee. These investigations eventually unearthed a pattern of illegal activities sanctioned and covered up by the administration. The revelations from the trial and subsequent inquiries brought to light the vulnerabilities in the American democratic system, especially regarding the checks and balances intended to prevent such abuses of power. The impact of this trial extended beyond the immediate legal consequences for the accused. It prompted a nationwide introspection on the integrity of political processes and the accountability of elected officials. The Watergate scandal, as it came to be known, ultimately led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon on August 8, 1974, marking the first time a sitting U.S. President resigned from office. This trial, more than just a legal proceeding, became a symbol of the struggle for transparency and ethical governance. It underscored the importance of an independent judicial system and a free press in upholding democratic principles. The events of January 8, 1973, and their aftermath, thus remain a crucial chapter in the history of American jurisprudence and governance. The current term of the US Supreme Court is shaping up to be historically significant with the addition of a case determining former President Donald Trump's eligibility for the 2024 presidential ballot in Colorado. The docket includes high-profile cases challenging the power of federal regulators and expanding gun rights, alongside another significant case on abortion access.Experts like Lisa Blatt and Stephen Vladeck express their astonishment at the gravity and unprecedented nature of the cases before the Court. The term initially focused on the administrative state, but the rapid addition of cases involving Trump and abortion has amplified its importance. The Court will consider overturning the Chevron doctrine, which gives federal agencies leeway to interpret ambiguous laws, impacting a wide range of regulatory areas. The Trump-related case, Trump v. Anderson, stems from a Colorado Supreme Court ruling about his alleged incitement of the January 6 Capitol attack, raising both legal and political stakes. Additionally, the Court will address whether federal prosecutors can charge January 6 defendants under an Enron-era statute in Fischer v. United States, indirectly affecting Trump. In the realm of abortion, the Court's docket includes a case on the FDA's rescinding of safety measures for medication abortion in FDA v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, potentially limiting access to the most common abortion method. Another case, Moyle v. United States and Idaho v. United States, concerns whether hospitals can perform abortions in emergencies, with Idaho's prohibition currently in effect. The Court's agenda also covers gun rights, with cases like United States v. Rahimi, which could temper gun rights expansions regarding domestic violence restraining orders. Additionally, the Trump administration's bump stock ban, enacted after the 2017 Las Vegas shooting, will be reviewed.Other significant matters include disputes over social media regulation, a major opioid settlement, and a corporate tax overhaul law from 2017. With such a diverse and controversial docket, Chief Justice Roberts faces the challenge of managing these pivotal cases, each potentially reshaping major legal and societal landscapes.Big Supreme Court Term Now Historic with Trump, Abortion CasesLaw enforcement and court administrators are intensifying their focus on courtroom security following a series of violent incidents and threats across the US. These events include a shooting at the Colorado Supreme Court, an attack on a Nevada judge, and a string of bomb threats that led to the closure of judicial buildings nationwide, all occurring within a single week.Sheriff James Brown, chair of the National Sheriff's Association's committee on court security, emphasizes the importance of resource allocation and strategic placement of officers in courtrooms to prevent hostility and ensure safety. However, the effectiveness of these measures often hinges on the availability of sufficient staffing. Courts across the US, from New York to Texas and Florida to Illinois, are consistently preparing for threats, but the recent surge in violent incidents has heightened concerns and the sense of vulnerability within the court community.Nathan Hall, a consultant specializing in courthouse planning and security, notes that while court security is a long-standing concern, the recent incidents have escalated the urgency to strengthen protective measures. In response, court leaders are seeking additional safeguards against potential violence. For instance, in Ohio's Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas, Judge Brendan J. Sheehan has initiated discussions with the local sheriff to review courtroom security protocols. This increase in violence against judges is part of a broader trend of threats against government officials, as public trust in institutions wanes. Attorney General Merrick Garland highlighted a "deeply disturbing spike" in such threats. In New York, for example, there was a 66% increase in judicial threats and related incidents in 2023 compared to the previous year. This rise has led to a significant recruitment of court officers, with plans for further expansion in 2024.Court personnel across the country are feeling the impact of these increased threats. As political tensions rise in the lead-up to the 2024 elections, court administrators may seek more funding from state legislatures for enhanced security measures and additional personnel. Kevin Taylor, Marshal for the First District Court of Appeal in Florida, emphasizes the importance of communication and strategy among court security officers, using recent incidents as case studies to improve preparedness and response.‘Shell-shocked' Courts Review Security After Threats, ViolenceFisherBroyles, a prominent virtual law firm, is facing a significant exodus of partners due to dissatisfaction with leadership over expense handling and a tax accounting error. The firm's corporate and litigation chairs, Michael Pierson and Joel Ferdinand, left to start their own firm, Pierson Ferdinand, potentially taking up to 130 former FisherBroyles partners with them. This move could represent nearly half of FisherBroyles' workforce and be among the largest law firm spinoffs in recent history. The departures underscore the economic challenges faced by virtual law firms, which operate with minimal overhead but need to provide sufficient resources to partners. FisherBroyles' model, where partners keep 80% of the revenue they generate, has led to grievances about bearing costs like legal research and marketing, which some believe should be covered by the 20% revenue share returned to the firm.A significant issue contributing to the discontent was a firmwide tax problem related to California, discovered by a new accounting firm. Partners in other states were informed they would need to pay taxes to California, leading to widespread frustration and sparking the exodus. In response to these issues, Pierson Ferdinand is implementing changes, such as a profit-sharing plan and substantial investments in technology, contrasting with FisherBroyles' approach. FisherBroyles itself is also planning a profit-sharing plan this year. This isn't the first tax-related problem for FisherBroyles; in 2014, they acknowledged failing to file timely taxes in Georgia and offered to reimburse partners for any resulting penalties.Despite these challenges, FisherBroyles' founders express confidence in their firm's future and plan to continue providing world-class legal services. The recent upheaval points to the evolving nature of virtual law firms and the balance they must strike between operational efficiency and partner satisfaction.FisherBroyles Exodus Shows Rift Over Virtual Firm Profits, TaxesThe corruption trial of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and its former leader Wayne LaPierre is set to begin in a Manhattan courtroom. This follows LaPierre's recent resignation as the NRA's chief executive, citing health reasons. The trial, led by New York Attorney General Letitia James, accuses the NRA and LaPierre of misusing millions of dollars for luxuries and other improper practices, including unapproved conflicts of interest and no-show contracts.James asserts that these actions violated state laws governing nonprofits. The NRA, however, denies any wrongdoing, claiming political targeting by James and arguing that the lawsuit violates their First Amendment rights.Jury selection for the trial began on January 2, with LaPierre in attendance, and opening statements may also start on the day the trial begins. The NRA is currently facing financial challenges, with a significant drop in revenue and membership in recent years.LaPierre, who has led the NRA since 1991 and transformed it into a major political force advocating for gun rights, is expected to testify. Other defendants include John Frazer, the secretary and general counsel, and former finance chief Wilson Phillips. Joshua Powell, a former high-ranking NRA official, settled separately, agreeing to reimburse $100,000 and admitting to misuse of NRA assets. The trial, expected to last six weeks, will be presided over by Justice Joel Cohen. It will focus on the financial misconduct of the individual defendants and determine any repayments to the NRA. The jury will also make recommendations on Frazer's position, while the judge will decide on any removals. The case was allowed to proceed to trial after an appeals court found substantial evidence of mismanagement within the NRA, despite their resistance to leadership changes.NRA, Wayne LaPierre head for New York graft trial after his resignation | Reuters Get full access to Minimum Competence - Daily Legal News Podcast at www.minimumcomp.com/subscribe

John O'Connor has been researching the scandal for decades, publishing two books on the subject and even building a relationship with whistleblower Mark Felt, known colloquially as "Deep Throat." On this special episode, he returns to the program to talk even more in-depth on the origins of the scandal, how Nixon's downfall was initiated by rogue elements within multiple levels of government, and how current scandals within the White House relate to this embarrassing and somewhat frightening chapter in American politics. ***** TOP STORIES California Now Outlaws Police From Asking The Most Uncomfortable Question Ever Pro-Hamas Nazis Vow to Sack Seattle's Space Needle on New Year's Eve 'Missing' Melania Stories Confirm Pundit's Advice: Former First Lady Is Key to Trump Win in 2024 Here's Why the Harvard President's Resignation Letter Set Off the Plagiarism Klaxons Again Sean Hannity Has Had Enough: 'Goodbye, I Am Done' A Jewish Family Is Attacked at 'American Dream Mall' in N.J., and We've Got One Big Question AOC Gives Away the Game on America's Southern Border Crisis West Coast, Messed Coast™ — 'Save Democracy' Crowd Sues to Stop Oregon Voters From Choosing Trump Government Regulators Are Coming for the Amish Farmer Again ***** MORE INFO VictoriaTaft.com Victoria Taft @ PJ Media --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/victoria-taft/support

It's based on a book by former Nixon domestic advisor Egil "Bud" Krogh, a key player in the administration's secret espionage unit, aka "The Plumbers," and his son Matt Krogh. G&R talked to Matt last year on the 50th anniversary of the Watergate break-in. We're reposting the episode to coincide with the HBO series' premiere. From 2022: "June 17th, 2022 was the 50th anniversary of the Watergate break in. In 1972, five men were arrested breaking into the Democratic National Committee HQ at the Watergate Hotel in Washington D.C. They were part of a group that operated out of the Nixon White House called the “Plumbers.” Their job was to investigate leaks in the White House and conduct other surveillance and sabotage against Nixon's political enemies. One of the heads of the White House Plumbers was Egil “Bud” Krogh. Krogh passed away in 2020, but before his death, he co-wrote a memoir of his experience in the Nixon Administration's secret espionage unit with his son Matt Krogh (@mattkrogh). In our Watergate anniversary episode, we talk with Matt Krogh about his father Egil Krogh, the Plumbers and the Nixon administration. We also talk about the Watergate scandal in relation to the current political environment. Bio// Matt Krogh is the co-author, with his father, the late Egil “Bud” Krogh, of "The White House Plumbers" (out this fall), along with its earlier iteration "Integrity." HBO has made a mini-series based on the book starring Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux. By day, Matt is a professional change maker focused on issues of climate change, fossil fuels, and policy. Mostly based in Bellingham, Washington, he has spent his career in nonprofit activism at various organizations, and has worked as a freelance writer, ranger, and geographic analyst. He currently co-owns Warthog Information Systems (www.warthogis.com), a company focused on using geographic information to make the world a better place. In the summer of 1972, the US was withdrawing forces from Vietnam, there were talks of a mysterious burglary at the Watergate Hotel, the first episode of The Price is Right aired, and for two weeks Chuck Berry's "My Ding-a-Ling" was the number 1 song in America. It was rock and roll progenitor Berry's only number 1 and it's awful! Or is it? Why did it go to number 1? A huge swath of folks in their 30s and 40's were deeply nostalgic for the 1950s, radio DJs had a massive influence, and don't forget the stunning work the crowd did singing in rhythm and on key!! Watch as Q and Tim dive in to figure it all out. Welcome to the Quintana Show. Q has spent years in the political world so he knows how to ask questions. Watch as we bring you entertaining and insightful interviews from guests across the sports, music, entertainment, and news world. And we didn't forget you either true crime fans! Watch and subscribe!
Ojai resident Douglas Parker, a writer and attorney, was deep in the thick of it when Watergate reached its apogee in 1972-1973 as Nixon's White House counsel, working for the formidable Leonard Garment. Parker, Garment and Nixon all worked for the same Wall Street firm in the 1960s, and came onboard to helped Nixon navigate the subsequent scandal after members of Nixon's Committee to Re-Elect the President (the aptly named C.R.E.E.P.) broke into the headquarters of the Democratic Party headquarters in the Watergate Hotel. Parker draws many parallels, but just as many differences in this tumultuous time as the hearings recess until September. Trump's brazenness stands in contrast to Nixon's paranoid guile. But both men believed themselves above the law. Parker writes about these issues and many more at Rinocracy.com -- his blog about how Trump has caused him to lose faith with the Republican Party to which he was devoted for much of his life. Parker's career has taken many twists and turns. Besides his brilliant career on Wall Street, he also wrote an authorized biography of legendary humorist Ogden Nash. We talk about his upbringing, his being one of a very select group of Chicago Cubs fans who attended World Series games in 1945 and 2016, and his representing the Toronto Blue Jays as they tried to secure their contract with a promising young third-baseman named Danny Ainge against the rapacious Boston Celtics. We did not talk about za-zen, Australian rabbit-proof fences or the seminal Alan Flusser book, "Style & The Man."

We are in the process of a national economic reset. 50 years ago, today, burglars break into the Watergate Hotel in Washington D.C. Criminal activity reaching the office of the President. President Nixon resigns with 14 minutes of recorded phone calls erased from the White House telephones. Today 250 + pages of testimony blanked out by Anthony Fauci's office … and nothing happens! The layers of bureaucracy and criminal wrongdoing extend deep in many agencies of government. What will our future leaders do? Our elected officials need to create new incentives to rehire people back to work, not to fund them to stay home. Food, Energy, and Health are just three items at risk in the Biden Administration.Originally Aired: WMXI Radio on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 7:15am CSTSeason 1, Episode 56Learn more at: https://genevalentino.com/in-the-news/#pri Click Here to Share this important message with a fellow patriot: Download the Audio MP3 Now!Special thanks to the following source(s) for the image(s) used in this article:https://www.pexels.com/photo/close-up-photography-of-person-in-handcuffs-7714892/A Special Message from Gene & Maureen ValentinoDoing “the right thing” is not always easy. It's not always thought to be wise, most profitable, or popular. Doing the right thing has more to do with “COURAGE”; forged from the principles and beliefs given to you by your parents. There's an ole' saying I've adopted, “The Politician will tell you what you want to hear. The Leader will tell you what you need to know.” And, telling you what you need to know may not be popular”. So, my Accomplishments here do not show you things I've walked away from. As a result, I left A LOT of money on the table. However, God is good! This summer marks the 50th anniversary of the break-in at the Watergate Hotel that eventually led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon. Watergate not only had profound impacts on how Americans see the government and the press, but it has influenced decades of film and TV, books and podcasts.
The former president scammed $250 million dollars in low-dollar donations from his most passionate followers for his bogus Election Defense Fund, and only time will tell if the DOJ prosecutes anybody after the Jan. 6th Committee investigation concludes. Next up, a special bonus act that didn't air on TV, all about the Watergate hearings! Which brings us to legendary journalists Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, who have released an updated edition of their book, “All The President's Men” fifty years after they broke the story of a break-in at the Watergate Hotel. Listen to this exclusive podcast extended interview as they share their thoughts on the Jan. 6th Committee hearings, compare how Republican congressmen like Barry Goldwater stood up to Nixon to the way the current crop of GOP lawmakers continued to back T**** even after the horrors of the Jan. 6th insurrection, and tell stories of great moments in journalism history. June 17th is the 50th anniversary of the Watergate break in. Krogh passed away in 2020, but before his death, he co-wrote a memoir of his experience in the Nixon Administratins secret espionage unit with his son Matt Krogh (@mattkrogh). He is grateful for the opportunity to amplify his dad's important life lessons through co-authoring The White House Plumbers, along with its earlier iteration Integrity. -------------------------------------- Music// "Watergate Blues" by Tom T. "18 1/2," set in 1974, follows Connie (Willa Fitzgerald), a White House transcriber who stumbles onto the political unholy grail of the time: the missing audio (18-and-a-half minutes long) of President Richard Nixon discussing the Watergate Hotel break-in with one of his cohorts. What's on this tape that couldn't be released to the public? Connie needs to know and teams up with a New York Times reporter named Paul (John Magaro) to find out. Unwilling to just hand over the tape, Connie agrees to check into a hotel with Paul so they can listen to the tape together and then go their separate ways. But as can usually be expected in the movies, plans never end intact. | Follow me on Twitter: @TheMovies_Pod

It was May 28, 1972, and Hunter Thompson was having drinks at the bar at the Watergate Hotel. Unbeknownst to him, nearby, the offices of the Democratic National Committee were being infiltrated by the “plumbers.” It had already been a landmark month in politics, as we remember reading the May chapter of “Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail ‘72.” From the shooting of George Wallace to the anticipation of the national conventions, this is when American politics would be a irreparably changed—50 years ago this month.

Could this be the greatest film about journalism ever made? It's certainly one of the most celebrated investigations of one of the greatest political scandals in American history. We follow two young reporters from the Washington Post – Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein – as they exhaustively get to the bottom of not only whom was behind the infamous 1972 break-in at the National Democratic Party headquarters as the Watergate Hotel, but who was covering it up….and how that went, all the way to the White House. Robert Redford plays Woodward, Dustin Hoffman plays Bernstein, and they are joined by a stellar cast of veteran actors including Jason Robards, Hal Holbrook, Jane Alexander, Jack Warden, and Martin Balsam. We loved Katie for sharing her story this week and that Tom is willing to give up pot but not hot tubs. Is Lala trying to protect Scheana or expose Brock? We can't get enough of Winter House! Hubb House came in hot this week! How is Austen in a love triangle? Will Kyle sleep at all this trip? Luke can make us an igloo anytime. Erika is sad, mad, tired, and exhausted but NOT the victim and we will just have to wait to see what she does. Did this reunion need to be four parts? In Salt Lake City, do we need Jennie to be a housewife? Do we care that Duy wants to be polygamist? Is everyone ganging up on Lisa? What is Mary so upset about? Clearly Google is a sensitive word for her. In Potomac, Karen jumps out of a cake for Ray, Michael owned the Watergate Hotel, Ashley made the viewers uncomfortable by blindfolding him, Wendy is looking for her Skims Ambassador role, and G can't remember who was napping. …come judge with us!Did you think we'd forget about the TJG hats?! Remembering Kobe Bryant, Gianni Bryant, Egil “Bud” KroghKobe Bryant was one of the greatest basketball players of this generation. A shooting guard, Bryant came out of high school to become the youngest player in NBA history. He joined the Los Angeles Lakers and guided them to five NBA championships, while amassing most of the Laker scoring records. Gianna “Gigi” Bryant was Kobe’s 13-year-old daughter who died alongside him and seven others in a helicopter crash. She was an emerging basketball star in her own right. Egil “Bud” Krogh was one of Richard Nixon’s operatives, who organized the plumbers and planned clandestine break-ins including at the Watergate Hotel and Dr. Daniel Ellsberg’s office. Krogh was also the man who invited Elvis Presley to meet Nixon in the White House for a famous photograph.
Jean-Louis Palladin, who came to the United States from France in 1979, was one of the most talented and influential chefs of his generation. From his base in Washington, DC, Palladin, who died much too young in 2001 at age 55, helped forge a network of farmers and purveyors along the Eastern Seaboard, brought an unparalleled artistry and innate gift for improvisation to his cooking, wrote one of the first "coffee table" chef cookbooks, and left his mark on a generation of young Americans, inspiring such then-aspiring chefs as Anthony Bourdain and Thomas Keller.During a recent tribute dinner at the Watergate Hotel, Andrew sat down with a number of chefs who knew Palladin well: His contemporary and fellow immigrant French chef Jacques Pépin, three chefs who supported him at Jean-Louis at the Watergate--Larbi Dahrouch, Jimmy Sneed, and Jamie Stachowski--and chef of the Watergate's current showcase restaurant Kingbird, Sébastien Giannini. All of that, plus a bonus conversation with Jacques Pépin about how his hobby of painting parallels his life in the kitchen.***EPISODE GUIDE***0:00 - 7:15 - Intro7:15 - 27:07 Segment 127:08 - 30:42 Mid-Show Break/Housekeeping Notes30:43 - end Segment 2***LINKS***Andrew Talks to Chefs official siteJean-Louis Palladin NY Times obituaryJean-Louis Palladin's book Cooking with the SeasonsJimmy Sneed's blog Product, Passion and SaltKingbird Restaurant at the Watergate

We sat down in the Watergate Hotel in Washington, DC a few weeks ago for a candid conversation, where we touched on a number of topics, from his vantage point of hip hop in the early days to what we know now. We talked about the role of Manager/A&R and got a first hand understanding of what the music industry is like from behind the scenes to his current top 5. Guy took some time out to speak on his new role as Husband and how much he is enjoying being a newlywed. Hope you enjoy this 4 part episode! Ashley has a major gap in her knowledge of American history, and it is shaped like the modernist Watergate Hotel in Washington DC. This week, Dave’s pick, ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN (1976) seeks to fill that gap with intrigue, secret parking lot meetings, inappropriate nicknames for anonymous sources, and a whole lot of phone calls. For Dave this is a flashback to film school and one of his favorite screenwriting books by William Goldman. A good time for all involved, except perhaps the US democracy and Richard Nixon. This could be our most delicious show yet! Joining us on Industry Night with Foodie and the Beast are sheep farmers John and Sukey Jamison own Jamison Farm in Latrobe, PA. Set in the rolling Appalachian, their farm is home to a pampered flock of sheep and lambs that frolic and nibble in fields of bluegrass, white clover, wild flowers and seasonal grass pastures, while munching on free-choice hay bales throughout the winter months. Why’s that matter? Because their 100% natural diet and free-range lifestyle yield meat that is lean, firm, tender, delicate and pink, free of hormones, antibiotics, herbicides and insecticides. And meat that is prized by some of the most famous chefs in the world, past and present. In fact, John and Sukey reach jump-started their business by meeting the exacting standards of the Watergate Hotel’s legendary, Chef Jean-Louis Palladin, and they’ve been on a roll ever since, working with renowned chefs such as Dan Barber at Blue Hill, William Telepan of Telepan and Annie Quatrano of Baccanahlia in Atlanta. A very talented cook herself, Sukey Jamison has created a line of hand-prepared lamb dishes, which include a Lamb Stew created in collaboration with the late, great Jean-Louis Palladin and Sukey's award-winning Lamb Pie. Don't be sheepish about joining us for this scintillating hour of conversation with two of America’s eminent sheep farmers.

If you had to pick the beginning of the end for President Nixon, the date of June 13, 1971 might be the front running candidate. That was the day that the New York Times began publishing the Pentagon Papers, a top secret study commissioned by Defense Secretary Robert McNamera in 1967 which basically said that the US had f**ked up in Vietnam. And badly. After the story about the Papers broke, Nixon became very concerned about leaks coming out of his administration. Which, in turn, led to him creating the Plumbers unit to stop the leaks (get it?). The Plumbers eventually became frustrated with the lack of action and began to pester the Nixon White House for more jobs to do. One of the last jobs assigned to the Plumbers was to plant listening devices into the Democratic headquarters, located in the Watergate Hotel, almost exactly a year later in June, 1972. In this episode's phone call, a nonplussed Nixon gets word about the Pentagon Papers from General Alexander Haig. But is it really possible the president wasn't aware of the impact of the New York Times story? Or was he lying? That's what Harmon and Scott will be discussing in this episode. We'll also touch on how this reflects on President Trump and what the recent arrests mean for the Trump White House. Also in this episode: the World Series, New York City open container laws, 80s sitcom starrs and Scott learns that there is a bona fide cast member from The Apprentice in Trump's White House Staff. Ivy joined Dr. Ernest Morrell in Washington D.C. at the Watergate Hotel at a Literacy Summit in October 2016 to discuss the importance of not just bringing media into classrooms but how to guide students in examining it critically. Dr. Morrell also explains how to inspire kids to love themselves as readers. He reminds us, that as educators, there is always the opportunity to reinvent.
