After leaving the military, Tim’s weight skyrocketed to 250lbs. At the advice of his doctor, he switched to a diet thought to be healthy consisting of foods such as whole grains. After following the diet for a while, he noticed he wasn’t reducing his weight. It was then Tim decided to do research and began to “hack” his weight using potatoes and other methods.

Tim Steele, author of the "Potato Hack" visits Perfectly Healthy And Toned Radio Tim Steele, like most people, is no stranger to weight gain. As an 18 year old lanky, teenager he entered the Air Force. During his 21 year in the military, he would watch his weight rise. Pizza and beer were the main staples of his diet. When his stint in the military ended, Tim would continue to watch his weight rise and fall as a result of the yo yo dieting he adhered to while in the military. His health continued to decline until he discovered a paper detailing a "potato diet'. He adopted the diet consisting of consuming potatoes as the basis for achieving and sustaining weight loss and saw satisfying results. Since then, Tim has helped people shed weight, and improve gut health through teaching the art of resistant starch with the “Potato Hack".
I discuss Tim's recent book, The Potato Hack, and the people we've both helped over years lose massive weight, no matter where they came from.
On today’s show, guest Tim Steele tells us how a short-term, all-potato diet can be used as a successful weight loss tool. In addition, you'll learn about potato history, antinutrients, satiety, resistant starch, and more. Tim recently published a book, The Potato Diet: Weight Loss Simplified and it is available on Amazon in print and kindle formats. There is also a Michael Pollan documentary recommendation (one you may have missed) and in the After the Bell segment, we’ll hear more about all-potato diets.
