Ana Gonzalez, Photo byJuan Moore Ana González's artistic practice celebrates the landscapes of her native Colombia and her partnerships with the indigenous communities dedicated to their preservation. Her work serves as a vibrant tribute to the sensory richness and cultural significance of these environments whilst highlighting their crucial role in historic ecosystems. Her oeuvre bridges multiple disciplines, including painting, photography, and sculpture. In her work González references to the 18th-century naturalist Alexander von Humboldt and his exploration of the interconnectedness of all living systems. Her Devastations series features textiles onto which the artist prints photographs of Colombia's vulnerable environments which she then partially unravels by hand. The works preserve these spaces as sites of power, abundance, and renewal while referencing the slow disappearance of ancient ecologies. González has worked closely with Colombian Indigenous communities, leading social and humanitarian initiatives with the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta communities, the Nukak people of Guaviare, and Misak women in Cauca. In collaboration with Cartier and the Amazon Conservation Team, González founded a health and social project in the Colombian Amazon. In November 2024 they completed a healthcare center in Murui Muina, Umancia, an indigenous settlement positioned at the intersection of three key regions: Putumayo, Caquetá, and Amazonas. Ana González is a graduate in architecture from Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. She pursued advanced studies in Art and Gender at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, and completed a master's in arts and media, focusing on Photography, Printing, and Publishing, at both the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts and the École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris in France. Her work is part of significant private and public collections, including the Patricia Phelps de Cisneros Collection, the Havremagasinet Länskonsthall Museum in Sweden, the National Museum of Colombia, the Bogotá Museum of Modern Art (MAMBO), the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, CA, the JP Morgan Chase Art Collection, NY, the Bancolombia Art Collection and the Museo de la Universidad de Antioquia, Medellín, Colombia. She currently lives and works in Bogotá. galata'da tarihe geçecek muhteşem görüntüsüyle gerçekleşen Gazze mitinginden hızla bir hilafet tartışmasının çıkarılmaya çalışılması öncelikle Galata'dan verilen mesajın ne kadar etkili ve isabetli olduğunu anlamak mümkün. O mitinge katılanlardan birinin elinde tuttuğu ve üzerinde Müslüman olmanın olmazsa olmaz şartı olan Kelime-i Tevhid yazılı olan bayrağı görünce kırmızı görmüş boğa gibi saldırarak yumruklaması ve bunun üzerinden bir hilafet tartışmasının başlaması ise Gazze'nin tarihimiz, kişiliğimiz, kültür ve kimliğimize dair nasıl bir pandora kutusunu açmış olduğunu işaret ediyor. O saldırıyı gerçekleştiren gencin bunu ne kadar bilerek ve planlayarak veya başkasının planının bir parçası olarak bunu yapmış olabileceği ihtimalini geçiyorum. Çok spontane gelişmiş de olabilir ama o genci bu harekete sevk eden cahiliye ortamı ve tabii daha önemlisi bu hareket üzerinden hemen organize olan kötülük doğrudan Galata'daki inisiyatife karşı bir suikaste dönüştü. Türkiye'yi vatan kılan varlık sebebidir i'lâ-yı kelimetullah. Bu sebep olmasa ne Türkler bu topraklarda tutunabilirdi ne bildiğimiz kurtuluş savaşı verilebilirdi. Bu toprakları vatan yapan sebep bizatihi o yeşil bez parçasının üzerinde yazan kelimedir. Bir insanın İslam'a giriş parolası, bir insanın Müslüman olmasının ilk şartı onu bilmek, kabul etmek ve o yükseltmeye çalışmak. Elbette bizimle Gazze'dekiler arasındaki bağ da o kelimede yatar, dünyanın başka herhangi bir yerinde kula kulluğu reddedip sadece Allah'a kul olmayı kabul eden herkesle aramızdaki bağ bu temel misakta yatar. Misak-ı millîmizin dahi esasıdır kelime-i tevhid. Türkiye'nin eğitim sisteminden geçen birinin bu kelimeyi tanımamasının mümkün olması ayrı bir vahamet, tanıyor da saldırıyorsa bambaşka bir tehlikedir, ciddi bir milli güvenlik sorunudur. Elbette son zamanlarda iyice kışkırtılan Arap düşmanlığı, Arapça düşmanlığına da dönüşüyor ve bu tahrik işini üstlenen provokatörlerin en çok güvendikleri şey tahrik ettikleri, galeyana getirdikleri kitlelerin cehaletidir. Oysa ne kadar cahil de olsa hiçbir Müslüman evladının kelime-i tevhide bilerek saygısızlık yapabileceğini düşünemeyiz. Ama karşı karşıya olduğumuz provokasyon, cehalete hipnoz teknikleriyle, bir mankurtlaştırma boyutunda götürmüş durumda. Tahrik edilenler hiçbir şeyi düşünmemeli, akıllarına hiçbir şüphe getirmemeleri, kardeşlerini, babalarını, analarını görseler tanımayacak hale gelmeleri gerekiyor. Yoksa kelime-i tevhidi tanımamak da ne demek? O senin Müslüman olma şartın. O senin özgürleşme teminatın. O seni mankurtlaştırıp kendine kul etmeye çalışanlardan kurtulma şansın.

Host Casandra Grundstrom is joined by special guest University Lecturer Arto Lanamäki from the University of Oulu in Finland. Much of his research is qualitative and phenomenon-driven research, concerning the role of information technologies in social practices. He is currently working in the Research Council of Finland (Suomen Akatemia) funded AI-REG project (2022-2026) investigating the European Act on Artificial Intelligence. While publishing mostly in the field of IS, he champions a certain research eclecticism and a boundary-breaking ethos. His research has been published in the Journal of Strategic Information Systems (JSIS), Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW), Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology (JASIST), Communications of the Association for Information Systems (CAIS), among others.In this episode, we first catch-up with Arto's research and new AI legislation, before turning our attention to paradigms in IS.  We consider the historical saturation of positivism in the IS discipline, the leaning into interpretivism before narrowing in on a paradigm gaining attention called 'critical realism'.  What is critical realism? İzmir İktisat Kongresi, 17 Şubat 1923 tarihinde emperyalizme karşı elde edilen zaferin ekonomik kısmını tamamlamak üzere hangi politikaların uygulanması gerektiğini tespit etmek üzere toplanmıştı. Kongre'nin, Cumhuriyet ilan edilmeden toplanmış olması da ekonomi meselesinin ne denli önemli olduğunu bir göstergesidir. Bu maksatla kongrenin açış konuşmasında Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk şöyle diyordu; “Siyasi, askeri zaferler ne kadar büyük olurlarsa olsunlar ekonomik zaferlerle taçlandırılmamışlarsa, meydana gelen zaferler devamlı olamaz.” MİSAK-İ İKTİSADİ Kurtuluş Savaşı'nın ardından Türkiye'nin ekonomi politikasının ne olması gerektiğine ilişkin bir yol haritası tespit etmek gerekiyordu. Ancak uzun süren savaşlarla elindeki insan kaynağı da dahil olmak üzere kaynaklarının çoğunu kaybeden, işgal güçlerinin harap ettiği şehirleri yeniden imar etmek zorunda kalan, yeniden üretime başlamak için yeni fabrikalar kurmak zorunda olan ve zaten yetersiz olan hatta çok zarar görmüş ulaşım altyapısını yenilemek isteyen bir ülkenin tüm bunları eşzamanlı olarak nasıl yapacağı çok merak ediliyordu. İşte İzmir İktisat Kongresi'nde bu soruya cevap bulmak için çiftçi, tüccar, sanayici ve işçi zümrelerinden seçilen 1135 üyenin katılımı ile alınan kararlar oybirliği ile “Misak-i İktisadi” başlığı ile yayımlanmıştır. İLK KONGREDE ALINAN KARARLAR İzmir İktisat Kongresi'nde alınan kararların uygulanmaya başlanması ile Türkiye'nin ekonomide hızlı bir atılım sürecini başlattığını görüyoruz. Elbette bu başarının ardında alınan kararların isabetli olmasının çok büyük önemi var. Alınan kararlar arasında; büyük sanayi tesislerinin kurulması, sanayiyi teşvik etmek üzere milli bankaların kurulması, özel sektörün kuramadığı fabrikaların devlet eliyle tesis edilmesi, dış rekabete dayanabilmek için bütüncül bir sanayi politikasının belirlenmesi ve yabancıların kurdukları tekellerin engellenmesi gibi önemli başlıklar vardı. BANKA-HAN YENİDEN İNŞA EDİLİYOR Cumhuriyetin 100. yılında İzmir İktisat Kongresi Hazine ve Maliye Bakanlığı öncülüğünde yeniden toplanacak. Bu konu ile ilgili dün İzmir'de Hazine ve Maliye Bakanı Nureddin Nebati'nin düzenlediği bir basın toplantısı ile yeni yapılacak kongrenin detaylarını dinleme imkânı bulduk. Nebati'nin İzmir İktisat Kongresi'nin ruhunu yansıtan ve yeni dönemdeki ekonomi politikalarına kaynaklık eden atıflara yer verdiği kapsamlı konuşmasında önemli bir başlık daha vardı. Bakan Nebati İzmir İktisat Kongresi'nin toplandığı ve 1979 yılında belediye tarafından yıkılan Banka-Han binasının aslına uygun bir şekilde yeniden inşa edildiğini açıkladı. İzmir Valisi Yavuz Selim Köşger'in koordinasyonunda devam eden inşaatın Kongre'nin 100. yılına yetişeceğini öğrendik. Bu adımın İzmir İktisat Kongresi'nin sadece ruhuna değil aynı zamanda tarihine de sahip çıkmak anlamına geldiği için çok kıymetli bir yaklaşım olduğunu değerlendiriyorum. MİLLİ EKONOMİ YAKLAŞIMI Basın toplantısında katılımcıların sorularını cevaplayan Hazine ve Maliye Bakanı Nureddin Nebati yeni dönemde uygulanacak ekonomi politikalarının tıpkı bugüne kadar olduğu gibi İzmir İktisat Kongresi'nde alınan karar ışığında şekillendirilmeye devam edileceğini ifade etti. Nebati, gelişmekte olan ekonomilere dayatılan ve ağırlıklı olarak sıcak paraya bağımlı modellerin yerine Türkiye'nin katma değeri yüksek ürünlerin üretildiği bir üretim merkezi üssü olması için her türlü desteğin verilmeye devam edileceğini de söyledi. Bu yaklaşımla bir kez daha hatırlatmakta fayda var; tüm dünyada ekonomik dönüşümün yaşandığı ve rekabetin giderek arttığı bir dönemde dışa bağımlılığı azaltacak adımların gelecek nesiller için çok önemli olduğunu unutmamak gerekiyor.

En 1980 los Misak iniciaron un proceso de descolonización y en la actualidad están caminando en la construcción de su autonomía en temas como educación, salud, justicia, entre otros. En este programa conoceremos cómo con el derribamiento de estatuas en honor a los colonizadores y genocidas de los pueblos originarios, los Misak ejercen lo que ellos llaman “justicia profunda”, que ha sido esencial para sanar espiritualmente a sus ancestros y convocar a la resignificación del relato histórico, con el fin de construir una historia en la que se dignifique a los Pueblos Indígenas del mundo. Experiences of migration and displacement are finding exciting form in the work of Colombian artists. Their art offers possibilities for new identities, questioning the very idea of home. Presenter Maria Wills Londoño, director of Bogotá's Banco de la República art museum, meets migrant and displaced Colombian artists to explore art of the spaces ‘in-between'. Turner Prize-winner Oscar Murillo exhibits work around the globe, yet his starting-point is often family history. In the sound-piece My Name is Belisario, Oscar's father recounts his migration journey, offering a universal message within a personal tale. In the Cauca region, Maria meets Julieth Morales, an indigenous artist from the Misak community. Julieth uses Misak fabric known as chumbe to weave textiles combining indigenous and Western knowledge. The fabric is an expression of resistance: to survive, the Misak must accept the world beyond their community. Colombian artist Carolina Caycedo lives in Los Angeles, but returns to her homeland regularly. She grew up by the Magdalena river, which became a major focus in her work when she learned it was to be dammed. She uses fishing nets as a metaphor for a sustainable mode of environmental engagement. In Popayán, Maria visits performance artist Edinson Quiñones. His extreme, sometimes violent performances heal past trauma. He explains the piece which defines his career: the ritual removal of a tattoo dedicated to his grandmother.
