In this potent conversation with theologian, author, and activist Dr. Christena Cleveland we explore how Dr. Christena’s journey of awakening to the black female divine supports the healing of white supremacy and patriarchy in her body and continues to deeply nourish her commitment to activism rooted in true spirituality.Dr. Christena’s speaks on how she noticed margins from a young age (she staged a 1st grade sit-in!), even though her religious upbringing prioritized detachment from earthly realities. As she moved deeper into justice work as an adult, burnout and frustration with the lack of humanity in some movement spaces led her to seek deeper spiritual nourishment. As she turned toward the black female divine, she found liberation and support as she unpacked the legacy of white male god and it’s expression in capitalism, fear, patriarchal power, and scarcity. Dr. Christena shares her devotion to the black female divine as a coming home to direct connection with the divine, deep healing, love, abundance, and joy - which has allowed her activism to be more life-giving and effective.more from Dr. Christena Cleveland:Download “Christ Our Black Mother Speaks”Join Dr. Christena’s Patreon Community@christenaclevelandDr. Christena’s Websitemore from Lauryn Miranda:FREE Insight Coaching CallFREE healing is my birthright audio affirmation bundleFind all the rest at linktr.ee/laurynmiranda, and keep on healing + liberating!

In my candid and powerful conversation with Johnathan and April Perkins of the black& podcast, we discuss the key understanding that all White people benefit from racism and are responsible for dismantling white supremacy. We also explore their Fundamental Truths About Racism, close interracial relationships as a key motivator for anti-racism, and how White folks in the US must dismantle oppression of black and indigenous people in distinct yet parallel ways. We also chat about what brings Johnathan and April joy, and laugh about the challenge of having a podcast that includes an ampersand.“Biracial, millennial, brother-sister duo, Johnathan and April Perkins, speak candidly about racism, white people, and what to do next. black& focuses on current events and social issues through the lens of race and racism. The progeny of a long line of civil rights activists, authors, and lecturers, April and Johnathan speak largely to white people who are looking to dismantle racist systems.”How to Talk to Your Family About Racism on Thanksgiving by Rachel Carglemore from Johnathan and AprilListen to Black&Instagrammore from Lauryn Miranda:FREE Insight Coaching CallFREE healing is my birthright audio affirmation bundleShow your support by leaving a tip!Find all the rest at linktr.ee/laurynmiranda, and keep on healing + liberating!
