Lori Daybell Trial: She Called It an Accident Lori Vallow called the life insurance company just one week after Charles Vallow was shot to death, calmly reporting his death and trying to file a claim on his $2 million policy. When asked the cause of death, Lori paused, then said, “Well, he was shot. I don't know if I want to put that,” before quickly clarifying, “It was an accident.” In that moment, she wasn't calling as a grieving widow. She sounded like someone handling paperwork for a delayed flight. Robin Scott, a claims processor for Banner Life, testified that Lori believed she was still the primary beneficiary. But Charles had changed that months before, making Kay Woodcock—the grandmother of JJ Vallow—the sole recipient. Banner sent Lori a letter informing her she wasn't the beneficiary. It didn't say who was, just that she wasn't. After receiving the email, Lori left a voicemail, then finally got Scott on the phone. In that recorded call played in court, Lori gave her name, spelled out the policy number, and made a point of noting that she and Charles had five kids and had been married fifteen years. She also brought up their adopted 7-year-old son, JJ, who had autism, expressing shock that Charles would make a beneficiary change without telling her. But none of that changed the facts—she was no longer entitled to the money. Scott explained in her testimony that changing a beneficiary is a straightforward but secure process. If a policy is valued over $500,000, the form must be notarized. That's exactly what Charles did in February 2019, five months before his death. Lori may have suspected it, but hearing the confirmation seemed to catch her off guard. Back in the courtroom, forensic evidence added grim clarity to what really happened to Charles Vallow. Dr. Derek Baumgarner, the medical examiner who performed the autopsy, described two fatal gunshot wounds. One to the chest and one to the abdomen. The first bullet traveled through the chest, perforating the heart, and exited out the back. The second shot entered the abdomen, tore through tissue and a lung, then exited out the shoulder. The exit wound bore a telltale “shored” pattern—meaning Charles was lying against a hard surface when the bullet exited his body. He was likely shot again while already on the ground. There was stippling near one wound—tiny abrasions caused by gunpowder particles—indicating the gun was fired from close range, likely just two to four feet away. No drugs or alcohol were found in Charles' system. The official cause of death: multiple gunshot wounds. And according to the ME, neither wound was instantly fatal—Charles may have lived for a few seconds, maybe a few minutes. Enough time, perhaps, to reach toward his injuries or collapse to his knees, as abrasions on his knees and hands suggested a fall. Firearms expert Jeff Moberg from the Department of Public Safety testified about the gun used in the shooting. A semi-automatic handgun, found in Alex Cox's bag, had fired the rounds recovered from the scene. When a bullet travels through the barrel, it picks up microscopic markings—essentially a ballistic fingerprint. That fingerprint matched casings found at the scene to Alex's gun. Moberg explained how casings from semi-automatic firearms are ejected after firing. One trigger pull, one shot, and then it cycles another round. It's not just the projectile that carries evidence—the casing left behind holds telltale markings too. Moberg, trained in forensic firearm analysis, verified that the casings from the scene were consistent with rounds fired from Alex Cox's gun. The kind of evidence that doesn't lie, doesn't bend to emotion, and doesn't forget. Then came the financials. The Social Security Office's Mark Saari testified that Lori Vallow received survivor benefits not just for JJ Vallow, but for herself as well. After Charles' death, she received $1,951 per month for JJ, with backpay of nearly $4,000. She also received her own benefits, totaling around the same amount. Combined, Lori was pulling in almost $4,000 a month. But there was a catch. If she remarried, her eligibility for the spousal portion of the benefit would end. Which is exactly what happened when she married Chad Daybell in November 2019. The payments stopped—at least the ones meant for her. Saari also revealed that Lori had previously been receiving benefits as the representative payee for Tylee Ryan, from the death of Tylee's father. It wasn't just one financial pipeline—Lori had several. But Social Security benefits require recipients to follow the rules, and when Saari investigated, he found discrepancies. For instance, Lori never told the agency she had remarried. She continued to receive spousal benefits until investigators discovered the change. That's not a clerical error. That's fraud. On the stand, Lori attempted to suggest that Social Security employees might have made mistakes during her application process, that maybe someone entered the wrong code or clicked the wrong box. But Saari stood firm. He had reviewed all the documentation. The forms Lori filled out were correct—for the benefits she applied for. And she applied for them. In the end, all the legal wrangling, insurance claims, and benefit paperwork come back to one day: July 11, 2019. That's when Charles Vallow was shot. Two bullets. No drugs. One witness—Alex Cox—who claimed it was self-defense. But the physical evidence, the phone calls, the policy forms, and the forensic reports all speak louder than words. #LoriVallow #CharlesVallow #TrueCrimePodcast #AutopsyEvidence Want to listen to ALL our podcasts AD-FREE? When Nick Launay was seventeen years old, he achieved a remarkable feat, landing his first producing credit on Robin Scott's 1979 chart-topping hit single Pop Muzik. And that's just the beginning of his incredible story. As an assistant at Townhouse Studios, Nick found himself in the right place at the right time when the original engineer took a quick pee break during a Public Image Limited recording session. In an unexpected twist, PIL's frontman John Lydon took advantage of the moment and locked the door, entrusting Nick with the controls. As a result, Nick went on to produce PIL's acclaimed album Flowers of Romance. Nick's producing talents soon made him a sought-after producer in post-punk, working with some of the biggest artists. The Birthday Party, Kate Bush, and Lou Reed are just a few who have benefited from his producing.

Do you often feel misunderstood or alone as an empath? As a highly sensitive Soul, I often shunned that side of me in hopes of being heard, understood, and SEEN as I am, yet the world we live in doesn't truly understand what it means to be an empath. And if you're wondering if you are an empath yourself, ask yourself if you FEEL the energy around you deeply, such as other's emotions, posts on social media, or crying during an intense scene on your fave Netflix show. An empath FEELS all, often times without even logically knowing why, but a deeper sense of knowing that something connects, or feels "off". Layer all of this with being an entrepreneur or creative, and you are porous to all the emotions + energies around you to the point of constant overwhelm, exhaustion + burnout! So how do you harness the power of being an empath in business, and really at a deeper level, life? In this episode, I welcome one of my fave podcasters and dear Soul, Robin Scott of The Empath Podcast to enlighten us with her wisdom on finding that "beauty in the balance" of honoring the Empath within you to find the FREEDOM you have been longing for, without sacrificing success! M lanzó tres álbumes: New York • London • Paris • Munich en 1979, The Official Secrets Act en 1980 y Famous Last Words en 1981. Un cuarto álbum grabado por Robin Scott con Shikisha fue producido en 1984 pero no salió al mercado hasta 1998. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/radioflowok/message

She reflects on the significance of her tarot deck as well as her journey as an artist. Blondie had already established mainstream success by the time they released Eat to the Beat, their fourth studio album. Their previous album featured the hit singles “One Way or Another” and “Heart of Glass.” While not duplicating the commercial success of its predecessor, Eat to the Beat would nevertheless showcase Blondie's diversity while continuing to draw a mainstream audience led by the hit song “Dreaming.”Blondie was an American band formed in 1974 by guitarist Chris Stein and vocalist (and former Playboy Bunny) Debbie Harry. The name of the group was originally called “Angel and the Snake,” but they changed the name to Blondie based on catcalls Harry often heard from truck drivers on the road. Blondie was a six person band for Eat to the Beat, with Harry and Stein joined by Frank Infante on guitar, Nigel Harrison on bass, Jimmy Destri on keyboards, and Clem Burke on drums. The band came out of the punk and new wave genre originally, but had already achieved crossover appeal (and accusations of selling out) with the disco-influenced “Heart of Glass.” Eat to the Beat would see further diversity in genre and sound bringing rock, reggae, and disco-influenced tracks complementing the synth-heavy new wave sensibilities. If your familiarity with Blondie is limited to the hits played on top 40 radio, you will be impressed with the variety of sounds and genres represented on this single album..DreamingThis song was written by Harry and Stein, and was inspired by ABBA. There is a lot of energy in this song, and the drums are a big part of that. The drummer, Clem Burke, was "blowing through the song," and deliberately overplaying it on this fast-paced take — they ended up using this one for the track. The Hardest PartThe funky sound of this deep cut characterizes the diversity in the album. The song itself is about a heist. “The hardest part of the armored guard...big man of steel behind the steering wheel.”ShaylaLed by a synth prelude, this song depicts a woman who works in a factory. There's an alternative, almost “coffee shop” feel to this one, and it truly showcases Debbie Harry's range in vocal talents.AtomicWe're getting a western or surf music-influenced sound with this fourth track. Destri and Harry were attempting something similar to “Heart of Glass,” and there is a definite dance feel to the song. The bass solo in the middle of the song is a nice touch. ENTERTAINMENT TRACK:The theme from the animated television series “Scooby-Doo”The character "Scrappy-Doo" was introduced to the Scooby-Doo lineup...beginning the start of a long line of mediocre to horrible cartoons. STAFF PICKS:Pop Muzik by MWayne leads off the staff picks with a one hit wonder from a new wave and synthpop music project from London. M was musician Robin Scott, his brother Julian bass, and his wife Brigit on backing vocals and other backing musicians known as "The Factor." It is sung from the perspective of a disc jockey spinning records at a dance club.. Lonesome Loser by the Little River BandBrian brings us the distinctive harmonies of the Little River Band. While the band is from Australia, the founding members were from the UK. The song is about a guy who is "unlucky in love," but keeps trying rather than taking a hard look at himself and realizing that he won't find love without getting himself right first. Sail On by The CommodoresBruce's pick features the close harmonies and excellent piano work of Lionel Richie and company from The Commodores and their seventh studio album. The song itself is a break-up song, but it is more resigned than angry or sad. "It was plain to see that a small town boy link me just-a wasn't your cup of tea, I was wishful thinking."Goodbye Stranger by SupertrampRob's staff pick is off Supertramp's sixth and fantastically successful studio album “Breakfast In America.” Surprisingly, this song did not do well in the UK, but made it to number 15 in the States. "And I will go on shining, shining like brand new, and when I look behind me my troubles will be few." Davies and Hodgson wrote the songs, and wrote separately. INSTRUMENTAL TRACK:Regatta de Blanc by The PoliceStewart Copeland, Andy Summers, and Sting make their third appearance as our instrumental track with the title track to their second studio album.
Robin Scott-Elliot talks to Nikki Gamble about the personal story that set him on the path to writing The Acrobats of Agra. Agra 1857, the Indian rebellion. Three children are trying to make their way through a country at war with a circus tiger in search of safety. Jacques is a boy acrobat who has lost his circus; Beatrice ( Bea) and Ping are both orphans. United by a deep friendship and their desire to save Tonton the tiger, find Bea's lost brother and Kamal the fire-eater, they set out on a wild and dangerous journey. Will they make it? A magical tale based on the true story of a lost French circus during the Indian rebellion.
Hoping in the One Hit Wonder time machine, this episode of Wonder Why travels back to 1979 to explore the career of the hardest artist to Google, M. Achieving a number one hit with the song "Pop Muzik," M (AKA Robin Scott) quickly climbed the Billboard charts and then, almost as quickly, faded from the spotlight. @chadsmart and @MikeDeKalb break down the pre and post "Pop Muzik" career of M to see why he only had one hit. The reason may surprise you.

Entrepreneurship encompasses a lot of things, and one of the best things it comes with is personal development. Should everyone be an entrepreneur? Is it all just about making more money? In today's episode, Nate talks about what an entrepreneur really is. Check it out! Recently on Facebook, I posted the question: Should everyone be an entrepreneur? Now, there's a lot of heated debate on this question. I got some interesting responses. A lot of them were no. Your answer to that question might be no as well. But I'm betting that after this episode, I'm going to change your answer to yes and you're going to be agreeing with me that everyone should be an entrepreneur. Let's see what happens. Here's what I'm going to present in this video. I'm kind of excited about this one. So, first of all, I want to get your responses. There's a poll right here because I want to know do you think that everyone should be an entrepreneur? Okay? And then I'm going to dive into everyone else's responses on this Facebook post. And you'll see what everyone's opinion is. But then I'm going to lay the case of why I think that everyone should be an entrepreneur. Now, I know you might think I'm crazy but I'm betting by the end of this episode that most of you are going to change your mind and you're going to agree with me. Are you ready? So, the the very first response, quickest one that I got said, "Nope" right off the bat so I asked him why. And he... You know, somebody else responded. "Because not everyone has the desire of the ability." Nathalie Bowman says, "No, my husband would hate it." Teddy Hodges said, "Hahaha! No." Mary says, "Of course not." Ashley says, "Definitely not." Mario says, "I believe anyone can. Should they, however? The choice is theirs." Jason says. "Nope." Michele says "Nope." Kevin says "Not everyone is suited." Erin says, "Nope." Felicia says, "Nope. Not everyone is cut out for it." Gina says, "No. We're all here for different reasons." Charlotte says, "No, it's not for everyone. The world is vast there's a place for everyone." I love that answer. Kristen says, "Definitely not." Robin Scott says, "You bet your sweet bippy..." They said... So, we got one vote yes. Mary says, "Stupid question." Oh, yeah. Oh, that hurts, Mary. Julie says, "Nope." Naomi says, "The world needs more leadership but that doesn't always look like entrepreneurship." Okay. Bill says, "No." There were a couple that were more in favor. So Molly says, "Well, when you think about it, an entrepreneur is really a mindset not a job. It's a mindset so on so forth." So she says. "Yes. I think everyone should be an entrepreneur." Kind of like her line of thinking there. And Richie says, "Well, anyone that wants should. Entrepreneurship is 100% learnable skill." So overwhelmingly, the response to my question was a big no or no absolutely not. Or that was a stupid question. Okay, let me make a case for entrepreneurship. First, I believe within my soul that entrepreneurship is noble. There's just something about everything that you go through as an entrepreneur that means growth. That means to struggle and triumph. It's kind of like this battle of good versus evil. At least that's how I feel about it in my mind. Like there's just something noble about entrepreneurship. So, let's get specific. Like, entrepreneurs create. It is such an important part of life to create. To go to religion a little bit I believe that one day I get to become like my God. You know my God who created this planet, I am his child and I am an heir to what he is. I get to become a creator and in this life I get to experience that. And there are a lot of ways that we can create. Entrepreneurship is a huge one. You know, we face challenges and problems. Like at another another huge advantage to entrepreneurship that I see is that we get to make mistakes and learn from them. See, entrepreneurs have tenacity. They have that stick-to-it-ness. When they fall, they pick themselves back up they brush themselves off. They learned from it and they try something else. And they keep going. Like my own journey. 8 years a financial rollercoaster. I believe in entrepreneurship so much that just a few years ago at one of the financial bottoms, you know, being a dad going to my mom and saying, "Hey, mom. Can I borrow some money? Or really, can I have some money?" And the response that I expected in the response that she gave that stunk so much is, "Nate, why don't you just get a job? It hurts. It hurts because I feel like I'm working for something that's more noble that I've created something. I've grown so much. And I believe in my ideas. I know that it's going to work and other people in those low moments can't see that. So glad that my mom is so super proud of me right now. That I did stick with it. You know, the first eight years were that financial rollercoaster. The last couple of years, yeah, I guess maybe I finally arrived. I felt like I still got a ton of goals but I'm just not under any financial stress like I experienced often throughout those first 8 years. So, how is that a benefit of entrepreneurship? Well, I look back in what I trade it, like part of me wants to say yes. But the other part of me is like, "I wouldn't be the person I am today without those struggles. I love the opportunity of trying something, failing at it but learning from it." Now, I have wisdom. I have so much wisdom from all these lousy mistakes that I made. All these lessons that I learned. Entrepreneurship is like the best personal development program I could ever go into. I mean I love everything that I learned by being a part of a religion and being a man of faith. I love all the lessons that I learned of being a family man. Being a husband, being a father. I learned so much. Entrepreneurship is right up there. Entrepreneurship is an amazing personal development program. In order to succeed as an entrepreneur and to succeed in a really competitive world, you've got to innovate. You've got to be a problem solver. You've got to find solutions. And I love efficiency. I call myself the master of efficiency. Entrepreneurs become really good at finding more and more efficient ways of doing things. Have you seen the Disney movie Moana? You know, the Hawaiian Disney Princess? I think she's an entrepreneur. Okay, so here's what I mean. I think entrepreneurs have gotten really good at listening to that inner voice, right? Moana, she had responsibilities on the island. She grew up and she really respected that. She loved her Island, she loved her people but there was this inner voice calling to her something that she needed to do. And ultimately, when she followed that inner voice, she ended up serving her people on the island in a much bigger way. And my journey of entrepreneurship, I've had a lot of experiences of hearing that inner voice and when I do follow that inner voice, it's hard. Especially when everyone around you tells you that you're crazy. I mean in the Moana movie, right? People told her that she was crazy. That she was kooky dux. You know, even when... And it doesn't seem to be working. Yet I know and I just fill this voice inside telling me, "This is what... This is what you're meant to do. You can do this you can succeed even when no one else around you believes." Entrepreneurship gives you a great opportunity to listen to that inner voice. Entrepreneurs also learn leadership. Just by the nature of turning your business from self-employed to really being a business owner, you hire people, you lead people you train people and over time, you get better and better at it. You'll learn leadership. Another great advantage of entrepreneurship is you learn public speaking. I am quite introverted. At least I feel like I'm an extrovert inside. It doesn't really make sense to other people. That's how I feel. But I've had to learn to speak in front of people. I speak on stages now and what used to totally terrify me now lights me up. It's totally because of this journey that I put myself on on entrepreneurship. I've got a big one for you. Entrepreneurs have to learn self-discipline. And when you don't have co-workers around you, if you don't have a boss like needing reports or needing things by a deadline, you control the deadlines. You have to learn self-discipline. And a lot of people say that they can't handle entrepreneurship because they don't have that self-discipline. I didn't have the best self-discipline in the beginning and that's why my business is early on weren't as successful. But I've learned self-discipline. And so if you want to learn self-discipline, become an entrepreneur. An amazing principle that I'm teaching my kids right now is the difference between trading time for money and trading ideas for money, right? Or learning the principle of leverage. And in talking to my kids about this they really got excited. And my daughter asked me the question like, "Well, dad. Where's a good place to start?" And I said, 'Well, maybe it is a good place to start trading time for money. So you can learn what that's like." And and I let them know that you know right now, when people hire me for consulting, I charge a thousand dollars per hour. And my kids were pretty impressed with that. And and they had a hard time comprehending that I said, "I really don't enjoy it." Because I don't. It's really taxing on my brain because I put a lot into it. I really want to help them and leading up to it. My brain gets worn out and exhausted. But no matter how high a dollar amount you can put on trading time for money, there's still that ceiling. And there is a difference of leverage and really trading your ideas for money. I mean, one of the most exciting I'm working on right now and my videographer might be excited to hear this. I'm actually writing a book series a Fantasy book series. I don't know why. Maybe this is audacious but I'm confident that it's going to rival Harry Potter. I love the Harry Potter series. I've learned so much by reading that. I listen to it. In the spring again. And as I listen to it I just know I can do this. And I'm putting my ideas out there. I'm writing this series and that's a way that I'm going to be leveraging my time for money. Being an entrepreneurial II helped me learn and understand this principle. Okay, so you tell me, should everyone create? Do you think it could be good if everyone learned to innovate? To be creative? To learn to be problem solvers? Do you think it would be good for everyone to learn to make mistakes and try again? To pick themselves up and to keep trying until they succeeded? Do you think that everyone should go through a great personal development program? Do you think that personal development is valuable? What about listening to that inner voice? That Moana voice that I described? Do you think that that's important for people to learn to listen to? What about developing leadership? What about developing public speaking skills? What about developing self-discipline? Is that important for people to learn? And what about that lesson of trading time for money versus trading ideas for money? Do you think that that's an important lesson to learn? That's why I think everyone should be an entrepreneur. Now, I admit... I don't know if I can do a second poll in the video. I'm going to try it. If not go ahead and do it in the comments below but I just I'll ask the question if your answer changed. Now do you think that everyone should be an entrepreneur? On the topic of entrepreneurship, there's another video. I'll link to right here that I think you'll really enjoy watching next. It's how to get people to buy your product. In that video, I take you through my journey of where I had a great idea, I knew it was going to work but nobody would buy it and then how I was able to transform that now I've got a great track record of success. And it's a pretty simple formula. It takes some time but if you follow it, you'll get results as well. So, link to that video.
It’s tough dealing with your own emotions on a daily basis, but what if you’re also dealing with everyone else’s? If you can deeply feel others’ feelings, if you can actually feel the mood in a room, you’re probably an empath! But it goes beyond just being able to sense what others are feeling. Robin Scott is a social worker turned creative entrepreneur who supports empaths in understanding themselves & following their calling. Here's how she found hers. In this episode, I'm chatting with Robin Scott of The Diary of an Empath, a Taurus based in Canada, who turned her desire to work closely with others into a blog - and then a business - after a short career in social work left her feeling unfulfilled, underpaid, and feeling like she was in the total wrong place. We discuss her journey into embracing her gifts as an empath and how you can use your sensitivity as a gift while creating a business you love as long as you put solid strategies in place to support you.// For complete episode show notes, visit http://www.soulshineastrology.com/episode61// Download Robin's worksheet for strengthening your intuition to better understand what you desire (and what you don't) as an empath by becoming a member of our Cosmic Community at https://www.soulshineastrology.com/community/Support the show (http://soulshineastrology.com/community)

Robin Scott is a Social Worker & Founder of The Diary of an Empath, in which she helps empaths like herself understand their abilities, set strong boundaries, and find and live their calling.Empath or not, Robin believes in embracing the idea of standing out: "the you doesn't fit in because it's not supposed to."In this episode, Robin and I discuss the importance of self-awareness, setting energetic boundaries, some astrology talk, accepting the constant change in one's "authentic self," and why putting oneself first is necessary. Empaths are often mistaken for over-givers, who sacrifice their own happiness for others. Robin and I discuss how that's not the case - how one can be an empath, while also choosing to put themselves first. In the latest episode of LDS Perspectives Podcast, guest interviewer Stephen Smoot visits with Latter-day Saint Church historian Robin Jensen about the newly released Revelations and Translations, Volume 4: Book of Abraham and Related Manuscripts. Robin explains that this latest volume is part of the overall strategy of the Joseph Smith Papers Project to help scholars around the world study Latter-day Saint history. “We test our success, not in how many volumes we are selling” he declares. “But in how well they are being used. … If they are listed in the bibliographies of books, then we find that a success.” Scrutinizing Joseph and his teachings is highly encouraged and is now easier than ever before thanks to the Joseph Smith Papers project. The interview dives into the question, “What is the relationship between the Book of Abraham and the papyri.” The relationship is difficult to define due to complexities and ambiguities in the available documents. Dealing with the challenges requires faith, but such faith does not require ignoring such challenges. Robin clarifies: Let me be clear, sometimes people say it is a matter of faith as a way of sweeping under the rug, some of the complexities, I think we should definitely address the complexities because they are there. One of the things I appreciate about the volume is ... that I have come to understand Joseph Smith as a translator better through it. As we get to know Joseph better, Robin notes that our previous understanding of the Prophet’s translation efforts may need to be upgraded: “There may be some correctives in the process.” That is, our previous assumptions about how the Book of Mormon or Book of Abraham were “translated,” may need to be revised. It is possible that Joseph Smith’s “translations” involved more revelation and less traditional translating than previously suspected. If so, the relationship between the dictated texts might not strictly resemble the literal meanings of the engravings on the gold plates or the Egyptian hieroglyphics on the papyri. Joseph may not have even been aware of the discrepancies. Robin states unapologetically: “It could be that Joseph Smith assumed that he was translating from the papyri when he was not, in fact translating from the papyri.” How could that be? “After mentioning the 1838 account from Warren Parrish, who wrote that Joseph received “the translation of the Egyptian hieroglyphics ... by direct inspiration of Heaven,” Robin further explains: “Joseph Smith received revelation for the text of the Book of Abraham. He may have through that revelation, made assumptions about where that text came from.” And those assumptions may have attributed a greater connection between the revelation and the papyri than was justified. Later in the podcast, the subject of seer stones arises. Robin confesses: “For me and my upbringing, seer stones are weird. To approach God, my first inclination is not to pick up a rock. That’s not how I was raised, but for Joseph Smith it was and the Lord was going to work through that.” Don’t miss the remarkable discussion of Joseph Smith and translation in this week’s episode of LDS Perspectives Podcast. In the late 70s, artist Robin Scott adopted the moniker "M" and created one of the most enduring pieces of pop art in history with his 1979 global #1 "Pop Muzik." This piece of profound simplicity wrapped in the guise of fluffy, disposable pop art took the world by storm and showed in neon what the next decade of music would sound like. As Robin continued to push the boundaries of pop music, his sound became more and more challenging and the hits never came again. But, hits are not what Robin was about. He ventured into world music, painting and anything else that tickled his fancy. Last year, he released his first album in years called Emotional DNA and it's a return to the pop music of his M days. This chat is a conversation in its truest form - we discuss the challenges of putting creativity out in the world, competing for people's attention, and staying true to yourself. Robin Scott of Ray Scott's Dock in Margate Proposed regulations using faulty research could put another nail in the coffin for flounder fishing along the South Jersey shore. New proposed regulations would force people to throw back any flounder less than 19 inches. Those 19 inch flounder are the female breeders. Regulators want the mama flounders to be the keepers. It doesn’t make sense. Listen to the Fish Jersey Shore Podcast for April 21, 2017. Robin Scott of in Margate is not backing down. She, along with Dick Herb, Chairman of the Marine Fisheries Council, and Bucktail Willie aka Bill Shillingford were guests on the recent Shep on Fishing radio show on WOND Radio. They have steam coming out of their gills.... I mean ears..... as they impatiently wait for a May 10 decision that could destroy the summer flounder season for recreational fishermen. SHEP ON FISHING Show notes: Second biggest industry in New Jersey. Fishing. Makes sense. We're next to a lot of water…fresh & salt Who wants to kill this critical portion of the NJ economy? We’re chasing away recreational fishermen to Delaware and Maryland in the Outer Banks. Did ya know… licensed Delaware anglers can pillage New Jersey's flounder since they're able to take home a 17-incher....even in NJ waters. NJ boaters can't do that in Delaware. Are we dealing with faulty flounder research? Is the management and monitoring of our New Jersey fisheries accurate? There's no shortage of Seabass or Flounder. That's what most fishermen say. But under new proposed regulations, any flounder that you're allowed to keep is going to be a 19 inch female... which is a breeder. The regulators use a vessel called THE BIGELOW....to fish alongside the big commercial fishermen. Many think they're not fishing properly. They're either using the wrong equipment... or they're just poor fishermen. Robin Scott: We look like fishing villages, without absolutely no fishing. The economic impact of harmful fishing regulations in South Jersey is going to be significant. Even though the Angelou Economics Report from last year….made it very clear that diversification of the Atlantic County economy was critical. Fishing is still being overlooked as key economic driver that needs better awareness.
