Just like every other podcast, two friends decide to make their voices heard to the masses. Talking about a variety of different things with a mixture of laughs, be sure to check out I Love It Here, I Hate It Here!
The finale is here! Our final episode. We want to thank you all for your support this last year with this fun endeavour. It allowed us to talk about things each week, as friends, and share that with you, our friends. We also got to interview and speak with some old friends as well. Please enjoy this episode as we wrap up I Love It Here, I Hate It Here. We both wanted to make a podcast and never thought we would make an official episode, let alone FIFTY-TWO. What in the world? Why would anyone listen to us that many times? Truly, thank you all so much. The penultimate episode is here! Episode 51. For once, Steven is not entirely prepared. The hosts debate a few topics in this episode. Endgame vs. Infinity War. Blond vs. Channel Orange. Steven talks about his undying love for Heath Ledger and The Great Gatsby. Connor has the audacity to speak negatively about Harry Potter and spam phone calls. Only one of those is worth negativity and it is not Harry Potter. Steven talks about the changing colors of the trees in Michigan during a drive on Halloween and how it is superior to New Jersey. As our show wraps up, please email us at iloveithereihateithere@gmail.com, we would love to know your thoughts on the show! This week, Steven wants you to listen to his favorite album of all time, Blond by Frank Ocean. Connor would like you to listen to Classic Series vol. 1 by Stan Taylor As always, thank you for listening! 50 episodes are you kidding!! Thank you for spending nearly 50 hours of your life with us. Our hosts bring you another fun episode. They begin by talking about HBO's hit show, Succession. They then dive into the world of Halloween and Steven shares an awkward story from his past. The hosts then provide insight into what is happening to the world of shopping malls and what it is like to have a TV show that you invested so much time into reach its conclusion. Then, they pivot to discussing something that had the comic book world buzzing: Superman's son came out as bisexual on National Coming Out Day. And that is such a fantastic thing but of course, it also brought out a crowd of homophobia. As our show wraps up, please email us at iloveithereihateithere@gmail.com, we would love to know your thoughts on the show! This week, Steven wants you to listen to Freudian by Daniel Caesar. Connor would like you to listen to The Great Gatsby soundtrack As always, thank you for listening! Episode 49 is here! And it is WILD. We talk about male contraception, experimenting on mice, and MORE. No really, they do spend a lot of time talking about mice and male contraception. Steven spent $8.00 to watch SVSU's homecoming football game as he couldn't make it in person as he planned, and it was a GREAT investment. Our hosts bond over their disdain for decision-making in horror movies. And Steven cannot fathom that people pay millions of dollars for artwork. This week, Steven wants you to listen to YoOHoO by TOM FELTON. DRACO MALFOY MAKING MUSIC. Connor would like you to listen to Norman F'n Rockwell by Lana Del Ray. As always, thank you for listening! Arguably our best title so far and episode 48 has arrived! And it is masked with tragedy as Steven got a huge ink stain on his comforter. But have no fear (Shakespeare), it was at the end of the episode and we brought you some BRILLIANCE. Connor, for once, brings us down to the depths of despair as he brings up the Pandora Papers. A topic that should be major news on every network but fell victim to those in power not caring nor feeling any desire to act ethically. We also just really love food this week. All of our love-it's involve food. Who doesn't love food? If you have a Sam's Club or Costco membership, buy Smore's Snack Mix. You won't be sorry. This week, Steven wants you to listen to Doo Waps and Hooligans by Bruno Mars. Connor would like you to listen to So Far Gone by Drake. As always, thank you for listening! Send in your mailbag questions, comments, concerns, insults, or what-have-you to iloveithereihateithere@gmail.com. Episode 47 has arrived! And it is an interesting one. For some reason, holding the microphones instead of using a mic or desk stand just makes this podcast a lot better, not that it was good in the first place. This week, listen to Connor and Steven draw the parallel between Steven and Edward Cullen. They discuss dating apps and the four years since Steven last downloaded one, all thanks to Connor. Not only that, but they also talk about how painful applying for healthcare is and why Five Guys is simply the best fast-food chain. This week, Steven wants you to listen to KANYE WEST'S best album. Connor would like you to listen to Mura Masa by Mura Masa. As always, thank you for listening! Send in your mailbag questions, comments, concerns, insults, or what-have-you to iloveithereihateithere@gmail.com. Episode 46 is live! It is with a sad heart to announce that our podcast is coming to an end. Between working full time and school full time, Steven cannot put the time into this that he wants. And Connor has grown exhausted from never preparing for an episode ever. Episode 52 will be our final episode so we can say that we have a year's worth of weekly content. This has been such a fun experience, making a podcast with my best pal. This is Steven writing these, if you couldn't tell. I really did love doing this, always wanted to do one, and able to archive this year of our lives. It has been really cool. Sappiness aside!! This week, we talk about A YouTube channel based around Kanye West albums, however the creator recreates ALL OF THE SONGS by using only his voice. It's crazy. We also discuss which horror movies Steven should watch as he embarks on the film genre. If you have recommendations, text him or message him or email us. Next week, Steven recommends The Chief by Jidenna. Connor wants us to check out Crazysexycool by TLC. As always, thank you for listening! Send in your mailbag questions, comments, concerns, insults, or what-have-you to iloveithereihateithere@gmail.com. And if you're on Apple Podcast, be sure to give us a review! Thank you for listening! Peace & Love!
WE ARE BACK!! Episode 45 is here and we are glad to be back. Might be a bit scatterbrained as we get back into the swing of things. Our dear friend Brandon joined us to talk about Blink-182's Enema of the State! The hosts also talk about where they were the last few days, some life updates, and some other stuff. As Marshawn Lynch once said, sometimes you have to focus on your mentals. The trio also talk about how delicious Southern cuisine is, why flying rules (Steven is still getting there), and why getting an apartment is just a painful experience. Next week, Steven recommends Food & Liquor by Lupe Fiasco. Connor wants us to check out Hot Fuss by The Killers. As always, thank you for listening! Send in your mailbag questions, comments, concerns, insults, or what-have-you to iloveithereihateithere@gmail.com. Welcome to episode 44! This is a more music-oriented episode as we discuss both our recommendations as well as new projects by Kanye West and Drake. Kanye West released Donda over the last few weeks and Drake's Certified Lover Boy was released last Friday. And let me tell you, our hosts had some thoughts on the music. Additionally, Steven spices things up by talking about how awesome the search function is and Connor talks about how it was to experience the end of Hurricane Ida. The two also cover a few recent news stories that have a significant impact on many lives. Next week, Steven recommends an artist that has only 86 monthly listeners on Spotify!! Check out 2020 with Steve Buscemi by Jadoni. Connor wants us to dive into our punk rock side with Blink-182's Enema of the State. As always, thank you for listening! Send in your mailbag questions, comments, concerns, insults, or what-have-you to iloveithereihateithere@gmail.com. Episode 43 focuses heavily on the Netflix film series The Kissing Booth. More importantly, they are joined by Steven's longtime friend, Jena Smith! Jena and Steven watched The Kissing Booth 3 together via a weird web streaming service that Steven found on Google so they could suffer together, virtually. The Kissing Booth is a high school rom com that centers around how people fall in love at a high school kissing booth. It has SCANDALS. It has ROMANCE. It has… DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION. The guests also discuss the joys of making food and the disdain for setting up garage sales. Jena brings her own list of loves and hates that you will have to tune in to find out what they are! This week, Steven recommends listening to The Duchess by Fergie and Connor wants us to listen to The Colour and the Shape by the Foo Fighters. As always, thank you for listening! Send in your mailbag questions, comments, concerns, insults, or what-have-you to iloveithereihateithere@gmail.com. On the 42nd episode of I Love It Here, I Hate It Here, Connor EDITS the episode himself. How did he do? The hosts discuss many things. Including the soon-to-be review of the Kissing Booth trilogy on Netflix! Steven's friend Jena will join us next week to discuss it. Connor discusses a recent trip to Five Guys and Steven exclaims why Cornhole is a great math tool. Not to be forgotten, Steven says why zoos and nosebleeds suck. This week, Steven recommends listening to Pure Heroine by Lorde and Connor wants us to listen to Nocturnal by the Midnight. As always, thank you for listening! 41 episodes it took for Connor to lead the episode. 41 long episodes until he decided to be the lead host. And how did he perform? Who has any idea? The hosts are back with an episode that was recorded into the wee hours of Monday night for a Tuesday morning release, so apologies if it seemed rushed. They discuss the negative perception that the city of Detroit has and how it is very wrong. Not only that, but they talk about weddings, favorite dinner meals, and also vacation! But not before Connor tears into Steven for his recommendation of Soulja Boy last week. What a terrible listening experience. This week, Steven looks to redeem himself with Where the Light Is by Surfaces and Connor throws it back to 2002 with Maroon 5's Songs About Jane. As always, thank you for listening! Send in your mailbag questions, comments, concerns, insults, or what-have-you to iloveithereihateithere@gmail.com. 40 episodes!!!! And a guest! Longtime pal Kayla Garrett joins our fantastic (lol) hosts. After a few postponements due to jobs and moving and such, the three finally connect and talk about nonsense. Omegle, Marvel, and belligerent drunks are all on the menu today. Steven recounts a pleasant conversation he had with a customer service employee for Dockers. And Kayla brings some hot fire with her topics. Kayla and Connor go way back to performing Legally Blonde on stage together in high school. All three talk about the PAINS of moving. This week, Steven recommends Soulja Boy's iSouljaBoytellem and Connor begs you to listen to FutureSex/LoveSounds by Justin Timberlake. Please email us what is on your bucket list!! As always, thank you for listening! Send in your mailbag questions, comments, concerns, insults, or what-have-you to iloveithereihateithere@gmail.com. Podcast Pals, episode 39 is HERE! Have you ever wondered what it's like to eat at a Red-Neck Yacht Club? Well, Steven will tell you all about it as he recalls his weekend adventures. He also brings up watching Boogie Nights for the first time. A more detailed review can be found on Wednesday with Completely Unqualified. The hosts also talk about rapper DaBaby's ignorant comments over the last few days and the lasting impact they might have on his career. All the while, Connor is gushing about celebrities and how awesome they are. He really is terrible. And, yes, Steven lied. We were supposed to have a guest but plans fall through some times. Kayla will hopefully join us next week! This week, Steven recommends Ne-Yo's Year of the Gentleman and Connor begs you to listen to Atlas by FM-84. What a hipster. As always, thank you for listening! Episode 38 time! This episode is full of some fun topics. Connor recalls his first venture into New York City since before COVID. Even better, he went to see some stand-up comedy. Florida Man is at it again, this time even more chaotically. One of America's greatest pastimes is Keeping Up with Florida Man. Steven shines some light on Jeff Bezos's most recent blunder and why virtual town halls flat-out rule. And why does Kanye West do us dirty each and every album release? Making us feel like fools for believing in him. This week, Steven recommends Journey's Escape, which is just fantastic. Connor wants you all to listen to Bleed American by Jimmy Eat World, we promise it is better than Steven's singing. As always, thank you for listening! Send in your mailbag questions, comments, concerns, insults, or what-have-you to iloveithereihateithere@gmail.com. Hey folks! Episode 37 is here. And we are joined by our best friend Sam Irish!! Sam is coming to us from Seattle, Washington where he works directly for Bill Gates (not really). The hosts discuss all things Olympics as more and more news comes out about how… not great of an idea it is to keep the show going. They also discuss the passing of hip-hop legend Biz Markie before jumping into a few topics surrounding Pokemon Go! Sam truly is one of our favorite people and we hope that you enjoy this episode a lot. He's a genuine, kind soul and this was a lot of fun to record. This week, Steven recommends Whack World by Tierra Whack. A 15-track, 15-minute debut album from one of the up-and-coming musical masterminds. Connor thinks you all should listen to Because The Internet by Childish Gambino, which also is Sam's favorite album of all time. As always, thank you for listening! Hey folks! Episode 36 is here. After having one guest lined up, and then another, we bring to you a guest-less episode! Scheduling conflicts happen. The hosts make do by talking about all things that they think are important. Y'know, ticket scalpers, 12-foot missing mall pythons, and Kraft Spirals being the superior Mac n Cheese design. All before Steven complains about people not knowing how to drive. They also recap their weekend which includes the Sims 2 (s/o Kevin), baking soda in the bathroom, and also BLACK WIDOW!! This week, Steven recommends Vince Staples by… Vince Staples. Connor thinks you all should listen to The Goofy Movie Soundtrack... Yeah… As always, thank you for listening! Send in your mailbag questions, comments, concerns, insults, or what-have-you to iloveithereihateithere@gmail.com. Hello folks! Episode 35 is here and ready to be listened to! Steven and Connor talk about all things Fourth of July as it stays a relevant topic throughout the episode. On that note, they also talk about interest rates on certificates of deposit (yawn), when ducks attack in the suburbs (scary), and the most recent court cases involving Bill Cosby and Britney Spears. Disclaimer that neither one of the hosts are yet legal experts. Also importantly, Steven talks about the love he has for conversations involving his uncle and cousin while Connor reflects on his move back to New Jersey. This week, Steven recommends Shawn Mendes by… Shawn Mendes. Connor thinks you all should listen to Portrait in Two by McClenney. As always, thank you for listening! Episode 34 is FINALLY here. Steven and Connor finally take some time to sit down and talk about the 1986 classic Top Gun. They also discuss not wanting to get a tapeworm and how we hope that all the babies born at the same hospital as us on the same day are thriving. The hosts then discuss the importance of the first openly gay active NFL player and why Connor strongly dislikes coastal elites while residing on one of the coasts in question. This week, Connor recommends Red Earth & Pouring Rain by Bear's Den. An album that the hosts attempted to write a screenplay to. Steven recommends the classic Coming Home by Leon Bridges. As always, thank you for listening! Send in your mailbag questions, comments, concerns, insults, or what-have-you to iloveithereihateithere@gmail.com. Episode 33 is here! Steven and Connor give some thanks to their fathers and also reflect on the first two episodes of Loki before jumping into their top-3 favorite non-Avengers Marvel films. The hosts then discuss their loves and their hates which include things to not do at a Dairy Queen and accidentally purchasing a water tower. Honestly, how do you accidentally sell a whole entire water tower? Connor recommends Summertime by Will Smith and the album Big Willie Style and Steven recommends Graduation by Kanye West. As always, thank you for listening! Send in your mailbag questions, comments, concerns, insults, or what-have-you to iloveithereihateithere@gmail.com. Another episode, another guest! Episode 32 features an old friend, Kelly Carmien. Kelly has two degrees, (sort of) knows things about flying planes, and really loves White Persian cats with blue eyes. Before Kelly jumps into the recording, Connor and Steven talk about their music recommendations. Connor recommends Malibu Nights by LANY and Steven finally recommends Fine Line by Harry Styles, which has been on the docket for weeks. They also discuss the fantastic In The Heights and seeing films in the theaters again, including Top Gun 2. Kelly joins the pair to discuss double dates, bing dogs that love to jump, and more! This was a pleasantly enjoyable episode. Except for the discussion about a whole entire whale swallowing a man and spitting him up. As always, thank you for listening! Send in your mailbag questions, comments, concerns, insults, or what-have-you to iloveithereihateithere@gmail.com. Follow us on Twitter at @LoveHateItHere and on Facebook and Instagram at @iloveithereihateithere. Please be sure to follow/subscribe wherever you listen to your podcasts. Another week, another episode! Episode 31 is live and yes, it contains yet another discussion of Top Gun. Connor's obsession with the 1986 classic is something special. The hosts also talk about more meaningful topics such as Connor's endeavors with beach volleyball and Steven's love for all things NBA Playoffs. Bo Burnham and Hawaiian shirts are discussed, of course. Might not have been the greatest episode we've uploaded, but it's still something. Be on the lookout for a sneak peek at our upcoming guest. Some of you may know him/her. This week for our weekly album recommendations, Steven recommends American Teen by Khalid, a fantastic album to play with the windows rolled down on a nice summer day. Connor recommends Paramore's Riot!, which is fantastic. As always, thank you for listening! Episode 30 features the hosts talking about a variety of things. Steven and Connor begin by discussing how Top Gun has taken on a new life as a queer film. Pretty sure this is our fourth straight episode talking about Tom Cruise. As the title states, they also discuss what makes boat tours enjoyable, and not enjoyable, as well as why musicals are just so dang fantastic. The pair also discuss why conspiracy theories are popular in addition to talking about Power/Love ballads. This week for our weekly album recommendations, Steven recommends Just Until by Cordae and Connor recommends the 4-Track EP by Litany. As always, thank you for listening! Episode 29 features one of our biggest fans: Stephen Prince! Stephen joins Steven and Connor to rehash how the trio know each other. Beginning at their time at Meijer, they have some fun stories to share. Stephen also discusses his loves and hates. He does all of them. Three loves and three hates. He came to play. Lastly, as I'm sure most are waiting for, Steven and Stephen discuss the spellings of their names and who is truly more superior before jumping into a fun mailbag. This week for our weekly album recommendations, Steven recommends Kendrick Lamar's Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City and Connor recommends the Top Gun Soundtrack! Yes, he loves Tom Cruise. We survived the 27 club and episode 28 is here! Connor and Steven return with, arguably, their most fluid episode yet and one that they agree is probably their best one from a production standpoint. That being said, they begin the episode on an uncomfortable note regarding the film Cars and Mater. The hosts talk about washing cars, chipping teeth, and how problematic men writing female characters can be. Also with the new release of Nicki Minaj's Beam Me Up Scotty debuting on streaming services, the two talk about the normalcy of hip-hop mixtapes releasing on streaming platforms. If you want to listen to young Nicki Minaj, arguably at her best, check it out! This week for our weekly album recommendations, Steven recommends Mac Miller's The Divine Feminine and Connor recommends Konvicted by Akon. As always, thank you for listening! We have entered the 27 Club…. Episode 27 is here, folks! Connor and Steven are back with a somewhat abbreviated episode as they recorded on Mother's Day. The boys discuss why Letterboxd is so great, the stress that comes with making a grocery list, and DISCUSSION POSTS. So many discussion posts in school. They also touch on how great karaoke is. What is YOUR favorite karaoke song? Let us know via email at iloveithereihateithere@gmail.com or commenting on one of our social media pages! This week for our weekly album recommendations, Steven recommends Machine Gun Kelly's Tickets to my Downfall and Connor recommends Continuum by John Mayer. As always, thank you for listening! Episode 26 is here, folks! Half of a trip around the sun. And with new artwork! Steven and Connor are joined this week by a special guest, Molly! Molly has written in some mailbag questions and is currently dating a very good friend of both Connor and Steven. Nepotism! It could land you a spot on a podcast. This week, the three hosts tackle events that should be added to the Olympics, Steven's questionable use of water while in the shower, and Molly's Super Positive News of the Week! Not before tackling the age-old question: does cheese belong on a sloppy joe? We really enjoy making this episode. This week for our weekly album recommendations, Steven recommends Justin Timberlake's Justified, and Connor recommends The Midnight's Days of Thunder. As always, thank you for listening! Send in your mailbag questions, comments, concerns, insults, or what-have-you to iloveithereihateithere@gmail.com. What's funnier than episode 24? 25. Get it? SpongeBob reference!! We are so funny. In this episode, the hosts tackle some strong subjects: why technology is built to break, why milkshakes DO bring all the boys to the yard, and why two-day weekends just suck. They also talk about some grievances they have with trash cans before getting into the MAAAAAAILLbag. Steven and Connor actually got to see each other over the weekend. A reunion that was nearly 8-months in the making. And they spent it being dudes. Watching MMA fights (which neither of them cared about) and playing poker (which neither of them card about). This week for our weekly album recommendations, Steven recommends Styx's Greatest Hits and Connor recommends Kacey Musgrave's Golden Hour. As always, thank you for listening! Send in your mailbag questions, comments, concerns, insults, or what-have-you to iloveithereihateithere@gmail.com. Hello and welcome to episode 24! No Keifer Sutherland, though. Steven and Connor do talk, however, about Connor's true origins. If you can bear the brutal first five minutes of the pod, the hosts do eventually find their rhythm. They talk about the importance of having a high-speed transcontinental railroad in the United States, why nosebleeds just kinda suck, and also the loss of Guitar Hero and Rock Band. It should also be noted that they want to discuss top-5 animated films next week! If you want your films to be known, email us at iloveithereihateithere@gmail.com. The big 2-0 is here! Episode 20 was one of our favorites to make. If you ever wanted to hear an intricate conversation about washing hands, tune in. If you want to know what it's like to be pricked in the back 40+ times by the allergist, tune in. If you want to know everything you need to know about Justin Bieber's newest album, tune in. The hosts keep it light this episode, no trivia, no mailbag, just their voices. The tail end of the episode discusses some aspects of both WandaVision and Falcon and Winter Soldier. If you have yet to see both, you can skip it, obviously. But you really should watch the shows! This week, Steven recommends Sam Cooke's Ain't That Good News. Sam Cooke is one of the best voices that music has ever offered us. Connor recommends Justin Bieber's Purpose. As always, thank you for listening! With episode 19 comes great responsibility. A responsibility to LISTEN! Our delicate hosts take some time this episode to talk about how Drake is human, just like all of us. He may be unfathomably wealthy and privileged, but human, nonetheless. The hosts then talk about how problematic Arkansas's new abortion law could be, why shopping cart etiquette can reveal if someone is a good person or not, before diving into which two fast food stops they would put in the same building, a la Taco Bell and KFC or Tim Horton's and ColdStone Creamery. They also take a journey down the feed of Instagram's own @SiblingsorDating. Which is just... exactly as it seems. This week, Steven recommends the flat-Earther anthem B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray and Connor recommends Be by Common. As always, thank you for listening! The two hosts catch up on what Connor has been doing, how he's enjoyed the podcast as a listener and not a host, and what his thoughts on Malcolm and Marie were. Hello podcast pals! Episode 15 is live and in your eardrums. This episode is a tad bit longer than the typical "Steven talks to himself" segments. And that is because he finally got tired of talking to himself and found a guest host for the final half of the show! Prior to, he talks about film, and music, and getting gum stuck in the dryer. He's then joined by dear friend of the pod...... drum roll please....... Brandon! The only thing Brandon and Steven have in common is owning Ford Fusions. Steven and Brandon go on and on and on about Kobe Bryant's last game and hot water tanks before getting into the mailbag segment. We didn't do a song lyric of the week, but if you want to listen to an album, it was the five year anniversary of Kanye West's The Life of Pablo! Or just listen to Blonde by Frank Ocean.
