Yahritza Martinez, 16, went from apple picking in rural Washington, to becoming a TikTok sensation and chart-topping musician. But her career nearly came to a halt after her comments about Mexico went viral. Despite the controversy, Martinez played at a major Mexican Independence Day concert in Mexico City — but some fans were not yet ready to embrace her.

Jordan DeMay was a popular, well-liked sports star at his Michigan high school. The 17-year-old took his own life just hours after someone demanded money to keep a compromising photo from being sent to his parents and friends. The extortionists, a group of men from Nigeria who have targeted more than 100 children and adults, initially contacted DeMay over a hacked social media account, posing as a teen girl who enticed Jordan into sending a nude photo. The sextortionist then flipped the script, pressuring DeMay to pay to keep the photo private. The teen sent everything he had, totaling $300. The perpetrators wanted more. Police say the entire sequence of events appeared to have taken about six hours, until deputies responded to the DeMay home just after 7:30 a.m. The family is now hopeful Jordan will receive justice. FBI agents, with help from Nigerian law enforcement tracked down the three men behind the international sextortion ring. Samuel Ogoshi, 22, and Samson Ogoshi, 20, have now been extradited from Lagos to Michigan to face charges related to sextortion and Demay's death. Authorities are still working to extradite a third suspect, Ezekiel Robert. Viral video shows Maryland police use Taser on teen to enforce vaping ban In a separate incident also caught on video, an officer can be seen repeatedly thrusting his knee into one teen who was already pinned to the ground by other officers. Maryland police defended officers' actions after viral videos showed them kneeing and deploying Tasers on Black teenagers to enforce a vaping ban on Ocean City's boardwalk. However, Maryland House Speaker Adrienne A. Jones on Monday questioned the use of force over vaping. The video from this weekend in Ocean City is deeply disturbing. Vaping on the Boardwalk is not a criminal offense," Jones said in a statement. "Black and brown children should not be tased while their hands are up. Officers should not kneel on the back of a minor. Vaping should not yield a hogtie." Four teenagers from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, were picked up Saturday night and charged with various offenses, including disorderly conduct and resisting or interfering with an arrest. She has worked on research projects exploring racial/ethnic disparities and disproportionality in child-serving systems, and that identified culturally appropriate mental health interventions for at-risk youth and their families. Dr. Barksdale, a licensed clinical psychologist and educator, received her doctorate in clinical psychology from George Washington University, her Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, and her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Kristin Bauer van Straten was born Kristin Neubauer. She started out in Wisconsin thinking she would be a graphic artist and then one day in her 20's decided she wanted to try acting. She received immediate success by getting small parts and cast as a regular on a short lived show called The Crew. She got an agent by stalking means.
