Episode 18: The Drama of Trauma

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 5, 2020 7:38

As I, Natasha Vaswani, welcome you back to my podcast, Unfiltered Emotions Unplugged, I recommend you to listen to this episode just before you fall asleep so that your subconscious mind can connect with the missing dots of any trauma that you or your family/friends might have suffered from and guide you through itThere are various symptoms experienced by people who suffer from trauma such as a low confidence level, fear, recurring nightmares, and flashbacks of the traumatic event and memory lapses. Our emotional body reacts to trauma in a different way compared to our physical body. Mentally, we might suffer from brain fog and an imbalance in hormones due to all the fear and low-energy emotions, resulting in hot flashes, shortness of breath, and anxiety attacks in extreme casesAnd on an emotional level, we have that fear, stress or sadness eating into us and sacrificing a happy life for one full of limitations and insecurities. We tend to attract similar events and relationships without knowing whyYou will be amazed to know that there is a fear area in our frontal and temporal lobe that if not healed completely, automatically recreating events similar to the traumatic one. You try your level best to run away from that trauma however it keeps on coming back! Why? Because you might be suffering from PTSD –post traumatic stress disorder which occurs when we do not attend to our traumas and expect them to simply disappear. As time passes by, the trauma doesn’t just disappear; in fact it negatively affects your life even moreOne trauma that I encountered in my childhood was abandonment as my father passed away when I was quite small. Thereafter, I only attracted friends into my life who abandoned me until I figured out how to treat myself once I became a coach and counselorLet me tell you the truth, that this doesn’t take a day or two to overcome and one requires various resources to overcome PTSD but there definitely is a solution to it You might be surprised to know that the person whom you least expect might be suffering from PTSD and might be reliving that traumatic moment every day of their lives. We humans are mentally programmed to not express our emotions and tell our stories to anyone unless we trust them 100%. While we try searching for the perfect person to trust, we miss out on really good support systems who can truly help us to overcome this fear. They might suggest a good psychotherapist or counselor to us or introduce us to effective holistic therapies. Nonetheless, you are the one who has to accept it and ask for help as asking for help is a sign of courage not weaknessIn extreme cases, where people with or without PTSD are self-destructive, I always suggest my clients to be attended by psychotherapists as they might be taking anti-depressants or other drugs or alcohol to quiet that internal noise within. And alongside I use effective methods of CBT to rewire the brain. In other words, trauma occurs as a result of a horrifying experience and it is entirely dependent on how a person reacts to that event. The same event can be horrifying for various people, but to some it affects them on a much more on a deeper level than to others who take it in their stride. You might be wondering what causes us to enter the trauma mode, so let me tell you that there are various causes such as natural catastrophes like earthquakes and fires, childhood or adulthood sexual, physical or emotional abuse, a dear one’s demise, a life-threatening illness, and armed robberyAnd some consequences of not attending to your trauma are: losing your job, feeling a sense of numbness as a contrast to the nervous system always being on high alert, mood swings, attracting the same traumatic experiences over and over again, divorce or heart-breaks, outbreaks of anger, and learning challenges for children such as ADHD and dyslexiaAcute stress disorder begins within four weeks of the traumatic event and anything beyond that time frame might result in PTSD. So its always highly advisable to be treated as quickly as possible after undergoing a traumatic experience before it takes over your entire lifeIt would be great if YOU, my dear listeners would share some of your traumatic moments as your trauma is not your fault but healing from it is your responsibility. You can put an end to all this drama of trauma by booking an online session with me on my website www.unfilteringourselves.comI look forward to hearing from you’ll as we are in this together, this is host Natasha Vaswani signing off!

Episode 17: How Your Emotions Affect Your Body

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 17, 2020 5:46

Unfiltered Emotions Unplugged Podcast is the place you can listen to and discuss emotional and mental health. I, Natasha Vaswani, coach/counselor and emotional and wellness therapist walk you through topics that add to our universal growth. As promised to you during my last episode, today I will discuss how exactly our emotions affect our bodiesYou might think that I am just uttering some nonsense, however I am here to guide you with valuable knowledge based on various medical and holistic therapies I must mention how much Dr Mona Lisa Schulz has taught me when it comes to the mind-body connection and the significance of our emotional wellbeing; hence if you wish to research more on this topic I highly recommend her book, Heal Your Mind, Your Prescription for Wholeness Through Medicine, Affirmations, and Intuition, by Louise Hay and Dr. Mona Lisa SchulzSo I will explain it to you in simple terms so that it is easy to understand and retain. Let’s first divide the brain into two parts, the right-side of the brain and the left-side. The right side takes care of our emotions and intuition whereas the left side helps us in making logical decisions and taking action. Let’s presume that at this very moment you are feeling the emotion of anger, as it is a very natural emotion that all of us experience. Take consciousness of the right side of your brain and allow that anger to convert itself into an image. Then, focus on the left side of your brain and register that anger not with a feeling but a word to define it. This word might lead you to create an actionOnce it is registered on the left side of your brain, your neurotransmitters activate a certain hormone which is released throughout your body. If it’s a happy emotion, endorphins, dopamine and /serutonin/ serotonin are released and if it’s a low-energy emotion such as anger, adrenaline and cortisol are released. As soon as certain hormones are released and secreted the whole body is alarmed and inflammation is spread throughout the body. This is the reason why medical science is researching more and more on cell memory as each and every cell of ours preserves emotions and the memory attached to it.So the hypothalamus is that area in our brain that regulates eating and sleeping patterns. This is the reason why when we are angry we have difficulty in sleeping and may not feel like eating. If the anger still remains, the pituitary gland affects our eating and sleeping even further. As time passes by, the chemical symptoms are transmitted through the brain stem to your adrenal gland which spreads this throughout the bodyYou must be asking yourself how this is actually possible. This is because we all have a mind-body duo connection so whatever we think and feel is transferred into the organs of the body.•We will discuss this more at length some other time but if you are interested you can research on medical intuition readings to further understand your mind and bodyEventually one can never get tired of discovering all that is within us in our brains through our thought patterns, and the emotions we feel in our hearts that materialize as a low or high vibration frequency. This is just a little brief of how our emotions affect our bodies, but if you are interested in receiving more information you can check out research papers, articles and blogs on the same •As of now, this is Natasha Vaswani, thanking all of my listeners for your love and support. Stay tuned by subscribing to my podcast, Unfiltered Emotions Unplugged, to know all the interesting content coming up.

Episode 16: Connecting With Your Emotions Through The Art Of Dance

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 3, 2020 5:16

I, Natasha Lalwani, welcome you back to my podcast show, Unfiltered Emotions Unplugged where I discuss mental and emotional healthAs mentioned in the previous episode, I have created a dance therapy called E-Motion to validate and release all the emotions from within through holistic dance movementsYou might be wondering how exactly does dance affect our mental state and emotions as well as the body. So today I will explain how powerful dance is in bringing our emotions to the surface and accepting themAnd in the next episode I will cover up an in-depth analysis of how our bodies retain our energies/vibrations and which emotion affects which organ of our bodiesWe all know that there are unlimited forms of dance and the moment one begins to delve into any form, he/she automatically makes it a daily or weekly habit. The reason behind this is that dance makes us express ourselves without allowing anyone to judge us; hence it is literally letting yourself free from all your problems and responsibilitiesDance elevates our vibrations as we humans operate through our thought patterns and vibrational flows. If you are in a high vibrational flow, you automatically feel happy and content with life as well as you create positive thoughts that boost your energy further. It is like having an adrenaline rush penetrating through your mind and body that satisfies youAs an emotional coach and spiritual healer I understand that positive thoughts along with positive vibrations create positive outcomes. You can see various examples around you of successful people who are physically very active to remain in that constant flow of joy while productively working towards their goalsAlso as you learn to disconnect from all the issues troubling you while you dance, with time you develop an inner awareness that is also referred to as intuition. Intuition is a gift given to us so that we can follow our gut and detect when there is some danger in the coming future as well as it helps us to connect with our Higher SelfEcstatic dance is when you allow the rhythm to take over you and go into a beautiful and peaceful trance. In this state of mind, you are consciously aware of your surroundings and you tap into your subconscious mind Through dance we get to pay attention to our bodies which automatically boosts our confidence level as it helps us to focus on the core of our being rather than on physical ailments. What happens is that negative thoughts and low vibrations block the energy from naturally flowing into the meridians of our bodies which is why chakra cleansing and healing is done. So when we dance we elevate our vibrations and create positive thoughts that unblock our chakras and help us to enjoy our lives to the fullestLastly, dance is an excellent therapy to deal with stress and anxiety because it reduces stress and increases happy hormones like serotonin and dopamine. And as we all know, dancing increases our heart rate and blood flow throughout the body and brainThese were some of the basic points to consider when it comes to connecting our emotions and dance. Do tune in to the next episode on how dance affects each organ in our bodiesI thank all of my listeners for tuning in to each episode of mine and welcome you to share your experiences of how dance has affected your livesUntil the next episode of Unfiltered Emotions Unplugged, this is your host, Natasha Lalwani signing off

Episode 15- E-Motion

I, Natasha Lalwani welcome you back to one more episode of my podcast show, Unfiltered Emotions Unplugged. You must be wondering what took me so long to release this episode so let me first apologize myself for this leap and tell you the reason behind it. I was creating E-Motion dance therapy.E-Motion is exactly as it sounds, working around our emotions. I conceptualized this dance therapy after doing a lot of research and training in various dance forms. World-known performance coach, Tony Robbins always states that emotions are created by motion; hence E-Motion Dance Therapy creates emotional shifts and validates them through holistic yet fun body movements. Each body movement has been created keeping in mind mental, physical and emotional health. Firstly, mental health is a very important factor that many of us prefer ignoring nowadays which is why there are so many cases of depression, anxiety and even suicide. All of us continually think and cannot control our thought patterns but we can learn to deal with them and substitute them with more goal-oriented ones. Also, E-Motion has been designed considering how our emotions affect our health. For instance, pent up anger or fear results in kidney failure or kidney stones as each cell of our bodies have also got memory of every experience and the pain attached to it. If you want a complete list of which emotion is connected to which ailment, you can email me at unfilteringyouremotions@gmail.com and I will send it to you right away! When it comes to our emotional well-being, there are many ways of maintaining a balance such as yoga, meditation, and self-help forums among other holistic approaches. E-Motion comes into the picture as I guide my students to go deep within and connect with their true self or higher self. As they consciously do it, many other emotions and thoughts engraved in the subconscious mind come to the surface which are then treated with this dance therapy. This includes childhood traumas, beliefs engraved deep within set by our families and friends, and feelings of lack of self-worth or self-hatred. You might wonder which therapies I use within E-Motion so let me throw some light on some of them: first of all, chakra cleansing to remove all the stagnant energy blocking our chakras and meridians in our bodies; also creating scenarios with cognitive therapies to relive a past traumatic experience and heal the emotions stuck in it by diagnosing the event from a 3rd person’s perspective; including I teach holistic movements to release anger and frustration so that the energy can be focused more towards your goals, etcAs E-Motion dance therapy is not categorized to a niche group but to all, I have created groups so that each person is given unlimited attention and care during each class. Therefore, I have created Survival Of The Fittest, which is E-Motion specialized for cancer survivors and these classes are conducted every Tuesday from 6-7 pm at Zenergy All Way Fitness Studio in Mumbai. Also, Danza Shimmy that is a blend of belly dance movements that help us connect to our gut and work with it so that we can follow our instincts with greater ease. There are many health benefits also included in this dance therapy, some of which are: o Improvement in digestiono Constant menstrual cycles and reduction of fibroids as well as less menstrual cramps and mood swingso Delay in menopause and rheumatoid arthritis o Weight loss if practiced regularlyDanza Shimmy classes are held every Wednesday and Saturday from 6-7 pm at Zenergy All Fitness StudioLastly, Fridays are dedicated to anyone and everyone who wants to invest in himself/herself through E-Motion. I have students ranging from 18 to 60 years old who come looking for a quick and easy solution to their mental and physical ailments, and once they start practicing E-Motion they feel revived as they begin to listen to all that emotional drama within and sober it down through all the dance therapy they learn during the classes. E-Motion classes for all are held on Fridays from 6-7 pm again at the same studio. As I call it a wrap here, let me just inform you that I have just covered the silver lining behind all that E-Motion delivers to all of its students. This is your host, Natasha Lalwani signing off!

Episodio 14: Prevenir El Estres Y Agotamiento

I, Natasha Lalwani, welcome you back to another episode of my Podcast Show, Unfiltering Your EmotionsAs you might recall, last week, we discussed what exactly is stress, as well as types of stress and ways of managing it before the burnout stage. So, I am sure many of my listeners must be wondering what to do once you reach the burnout stage encountered by stress and ways to prevent stressHow can you be sure when you have reached the burnout point? Well if you experience any of the following symptoms, you have indeed reached the burnout point. These symptoms are:oPhysical aches and pains which might lead to illnesses and diseasesoLess or no interest in work or life tasks you would normally enjoy oFeeling unmotivated without the willingness to look forward to the day oA high level of procrastination which hinders your productivity oYou care less about quality and meeting expectations oYou experience feelings of overwhelm oYou feel disconnected from your family, friends or co-workers oAnd you get anxious or anticipate events or reactions from people at work or at home When we suffer any of these symptoms, we focus on the physical aspects of how to get rid of them such as engaging ourselves in consuming painkillers, anti-depressants, high intakes of sugar, alcohol etc. However, the solution to getting rid of these symptoms is by focusing on the cause of the problem which is stressHave you ever wondered what is the reason behind your stress? How do you react when you are under stress? And what do you do to reduce your stress level? But the golden question is how to prevent stress from being a part of your lifeI am sure you have heard or read of many ways to prevent stress such as:oAlways maintain a positive attitudeoAccept the fact that everything is not in your control and you should just let gooPractice meditation or yoga to relax your mind and bodyoExercise daily and have a nutritional dietoAnd seek help by joining social groupsNonetheless, if we do a reality check, how many of us are satisfied with these options? After all, it’s easier said than done and one needs to find the quickest and most convenient option to fit his/her tight work scheduleDon´t you think that there is a solution within which can prevent stress from materializing and taking over our lives? In reality, stress is a mental state of mind which can be controlled by monitoring our thoughts and emotions creating reactions that affect our bodies and resulting in diseases or when the body is not at easeAfter dealing with various clients who have stress disorders, I have compiled very effective methods to prevent stress and burnout:-First of all, communication is vital in our lives as our minds are programmed to verbal and non-verbal communication; hence, find someone whom you can discuss your issues with as stress is formed by a feeling of overwhelm when we think that the whole world is falling on us due to the problem we are facing. Once you speak your heart out, you will feel better and there will be less chances of anxiety compiling into your life and manifesting into stress-Another way which I totally love is thinking of the problem which is disturbing you and feeling that emotion of discomfort right in your heart and then releasing it by punching a cushion or pillow. Keep on punching it until you feel you have released all that pent-up anger or frustration from within. And you don’t have to worry about how others will react as you should do it when you are alone in a room-Most of the times, we build up stress as we are unable to prioritize our goals and manage our time effectively, thus do find a way to set your most important goals first and focus on them as that will help you to one by one complete all of themThese are some free and excellent tips I just walked you through, however if you want to know more you can book a one-to-one consultation with me on my website which is www.unfilteringyouremotions.comAs they say, prevention is better than cure so prevent this dreadful feeling of stress and the burnout experienced by it before it jeopardizes your life! ¡Sí, has oído bien!

•Welcome back to another episode of Unfiltered Emotions Unplugged Podcast. As you all know I am your host, Natasha Lalwani, and I will be presenting to you another emotion we tend to feel quite often but many times do not know how to deal with, and that is stress•Stress forms a vital aspect of our lives as it influences our thought patterns and behaviors, at times making us react in an unwanted manner•In fact, stress is quite a debatable topic as it is not only bad but even good because it gives an adrenaline rush and pushes a person to create a certain action instead of procrastinating over it. However, one should use stress only to boost the desired results rather than suffer from a burnout•So before you reach the burnout point, begin to control your stress. Yes, you heard me right! We all can learn how to control our stress by firstly recognizing our symptoms of stress. It might seem difficult at times as most of us don’t even realize that we are undergoing stress, until we fall sick and then ponder on what caused this downfall in health•It is of utmost importance to become aware of your stress so that you can manage it by identifying the stressors and then reducing them to the point of elimination•The key is how we respond to these stressors as there are triggers which create a stressful experience such as a certain event or unwanted person´s presence in our personal or professional lives•Our body is a very powerful catalyst that continuously informs us of any uneasiness or feeling which needs to be given attention to. In other words, you might notice that when you are stressed, your body gets very tense and can also create pain or stiffness in a certain area, so this is how your body sends out signals to your consciousness that you are stressed and should do something about it•Our mind and bodies are programmed for survival, hence when there is stress, chemicals are quickly released into the blood, resulting in an energy boost which is essential for survival yet dangerous if too often and over the top. Our bodies are designed to handle some amounts of stress but if we fail to manage it, it can lead to chronic illnesses such as a heart attack, obesity, eating disorders, and mental health problems•What we should also recognize is that this feeling of your heart-rate and breath increasing, muscles tightening and blood pressure rising are indications that you are ready to act or react to harmful situations not only real but also perceived, hence the body is protecting us by alerting us to take action•People who suffer from stress experience various symptoms which are emotional, physical, cognitive or behavioral. Emotional symptoms include:•Becoming easily frustrated or moody•Feeling overwhelmed, as if you are losing control or need to take control•Having difficulty relaxing and quieting your mind•Suffering from low self-esteem, loneliness, worthlessness, and depression•Avoiding others•Whereas Physical symptoms of stress comprise of:•Low energy•Headaches•Having an upset stomach, including diarrhea, constipation, and nausea•Aches, pains, and tense muscles•Chest pain and rapid heartbeat•Insomnia•Frequent colds and infections•Loss of sexual desire•Nervousness and shaking, ringing in the ear, cold or sweaty hands and feet•Dry mouth and difficulty in swallowing•Clenched jaw and grinding teeth•If you suffer from Cognitive symptoms of stress you experience:•Constant worrying•Having Racing thoughts•Forgetfulness and disorganization•Inability to focus•Poor judgment•Having a pessimistic approach•Behavioral symptoms of stress include:•Changes in appetite -- either not eating or eating too much•Procrastinating and avoiding responsibilities•Increased use of alcohol, drugs, or cigarettes•Exhibiting more nervous behaviors, such as nail biting, fidgeting, and pacing around•Having skin and hair problems, such as acne, psoriasis, and eczema, and permanent hair loss•Gastrointestinal problems, such as GERD, gastritis, ulcerative colitis, and irritable colonWhen stress and anxiety increase, the chances of becoming ill also increase as the immune system is sabotaged, impacting both psychological and physiological areas of ours such as:•Generalized anxiety disorder•Multiple personality disorder•Obsessive Compulsive Disorder•High-blood pressure•Sleep walking•Hypochondriasis which is a persistent fear of having some serious illness•So keep stress far away as the greatest weapon to attack stress is our reaction to that stressor. •I Natasha Lalwani will be throwing some light next week on effective ways to prevent the burnout caused by stress•Until then do subscribe to my podcast available both on the iPhone and android and don’t forget to share your comments below•Wishing you all a wonderful week full of stress-free moments to cherish

•I, Natasha Lalwani welcome you back to episode 12 of my podcast show, Unfiltered Emotions Unplugged •Today I will be discussing a very sensitive topic requested by my listeners and followers, which is anger•Unlike what most of the people think, anger is not a bad emotion, and it is only the consequences of anger which create destructive thoughts and actions•All of us experience anger at some point in our lives, however what matters is how we cope with it and express our anger•During my consultations, some of my clients do not even realize that they have pent up anger and do not know how to express it or overcome it•So if you want some FREE tips on how to deal with anger, listen very carefully:•Focus your energy on some physical activity such as workout or even a brisk walk to blow-off some steam•Observe what are your trigger points that make you snap or change your mood and then take note of them. When you write them down you are consciously aware of what agitates you so the next time you face such triggers you will be a bit more alert•Some of the common reasons why we feel angry are because we are under a lot of pressure, we are experiencing hormonal changes which create mood swings, or we are unhappy with the way our life is going•You can also try some of the suggestions online such as counting to 100 or simply talking to someone. Nonetheless, I suggest a very effective method which is to invest some time alone by walking away from the event or person for a while until you are in a better frame of mind and not overpowered by the emotion of anger. Then, once you have calmed down you will be able to have a constructive conversation with that certain person•If you still cannot figure out the reason behind your anger, you might need to unfilter your anger further by: accepting the fact that everyone gets angry and the only thing that differs is our trigger point to that anger; finding the root of the anger may entail other emotions such as pain, frustration, and fear so we need to face these emotions as well in order to solve the root of the problem•You might be interested to know that there are 3 types of anger: passive anger, open aggression and assertive anger.•Passive anger is experienced when we do not like facing heated-up arguments, hence we prefer bottling up our frustration which results in silence during an argument, sulking or procrastinating.•Whereas open aggression is its complete opposite by acting physically or verbally aggressive and when dealing with such people it can be quite a challenge trying to find a solution•Accordingly, the best way is by adopting the assertive anger type which entails working towards a solution by carefully listening and talking in a controlled and confident manner. Yes, this does require a lot of patience and maturity particularity if the person who is experiencing constant anger does not want to receive help of any sort. •To wrap it up, just remember that anger is perceived harm to oneself on a physical and emotional level, so stop harming yourself because you deserve to live a happy and peaceful life forever!•If you would like to have a personalized consultation with me in order to treat your anger, do book an appointment on my website which is www.unfilteringyouremotions.com right away!•You are welcome to add any comments below and let me know if you would like me to cover any other topics of interest •This is Natasha Lalwani signing off!

Episode 11 talks about Kaizen which was mentioned last week as a powerful method to treat anxietyKaizen originated in Japan, and the term consists of two concepts — “kai” (change) and “zen” (wisdom). This theory was invented by Masaaki Imai, who confirms that this philosophy can be applied successfully in business as well as to one’s personal lifeDue to its nature, at times there is disbelief on achieving the desired results in the Western culture as people are trained to focus on the finish line. However, as Kaizen explains, if we break down our goals into small steps and work on them, we will successfully attain these goalsKaizen also states that highly structured challenging programs of self-improvement can deprive a person of a lot of energy resulting in exhaustion, and incomplete results. Whereas, Kaizen focuses on continuous improvement as a daily routineIn other words, continuous improvement is not the definition of kaizen but the result of it if executed wellThe best thing about Kaizen is that anybody can try it anywhere in the world and at any time. All we need to do is determine what we want to achieve and we are set to go! There is tremendous amount of information online on how companies have grown after implementing the methodology of kaizen into their work areasNonetheless, I would like to bring to your attention how kaizen can affect our emotional growth. Kaizen isn’t only continual improvement but also continuous self –development as one needs to work on internal factors to achieve successful results in all areas of their livesIn fact, Kaizen is a mental process of bringing your innate potential to the surface by developing strong willpower to break the status quo or the existing stateThe point is not creating this change with positive thinking but by being responsible for your struggles and acknowledging your negative emotions. I always tell my clients that there is nothing as a positive or negative emotion as both are two-sides of a coin. Depending on which side you are on, you crave to experience the other side. In other words, if we would only experience a completely happy life we would never grow as we learn from our mistakes. So you need to hit rock bottom at times to spring up with a bang and make that change happenWe shall understand that without accepting this internal struggle we will not be motivated to avoid defeat in the futureHansei is the practice of self-criticism that fuels Kaizen as it inspires us to work towards self-improvement. What happens is that just positive thinking does not derive any personal growth because it hinders any sort of development. When you criticize yourself you understand what you need to work on and with motivation and dedication you create the change to convert your weaknesses into your strengthsDigging deep within is not easy and if it were easy we wouldn’t value it at all! The human mind is conditioned in such a way that we don’t like anything easy in life but also get disheartened when our actions don’t reap our desired results. That’s when emotions such as anger, anxiety, jealousy and shame come into power to create that motivation in us to improve the situation at handExperiencing these emotions is essential to carry out the process of Kaizen as it forces your human instincts to drive you to better resultsAs you know, a process is only effective if practiced on a consistent basis so until you are not motivated to acknowledge your failures, no true change will occurI am not demeaning the power of positive thinking as we require positivity from day to day but as the proverb states, “no pain, no gain”There is never a finish line as if there would be, we wouldn’t push our limits and achieve the impossible. And while achieving our goals in life, we need to remember to keep our egos to a minimum as our ego stops our personal growth. While we are on our journey towards the goal we shall also help others because all of us are eventually one creation. After all, leadership qualities are only attained if you improve your and others’ weaknesses to achieve the desired resultsKaizen isn’t a goal one has to achieve but the ability to challenge your mindset by accepting your drawbacks as well as others and creating the motivation from within to establish a changeSo take small steps and work on them to achieve your goals and while you are at it, focus on your emotions and use them as a motivator to create a shift from within that will radiate fantastic results on your personal and professional lifeYou are most welcome to write your comments below

A belief is simply a thought intensified with a certain emotion that creates a desire and materializes into itFor instance, if you think that you are fat, you will hold that belief and that lack of self-worth will encourage you to make the wrong/unhealthy lifestyle and nutritional choices. Whereas, if you believe that you are slim you will invest in your body with regular exercise and healthy foodSuccessful people such as Oprah Winfrey, Deepak Chopra, Jack Canfield, Jim Kwik, Vishen Lakhiani, are where they are today because they faced their fears and overcame them Secondly, you might be surprised to know that there are only 2 types of emotions which are Love and Fear. I had discussed how to love yourself in tip 1 before the release of my podcast so if you have missed it, you can view it on my YouTube channel Unfiltering Your EmotionsSo there are 2 types of emotions and all others are connected to them; hence love includes: compassion, happiness, self-love, kindness, having a supportive nature, balance, calmness, unconditional love and non-judgment, all of which are rapid and high frequency energiesOn the other hand, fear has low-frequency vibrations and emotions associated to it are: anger, hatred, jealousy, greed, addictions, manipulation, judgment, rejection, resentment, egoism and self-hatred. What you should do is identify the emotion as a love or fear-based one and then stop giving power to it in the case of fearful emotionsYou might find it difficult to believe but fear is actually just a product of our imagination so the best way to deal with it is to consciously and subconsciously control it by facing itOne of the strongest fears we have is the fear of rejection. ..we need to take a risk and get out of our comfort zone to face this feeling and overcome it. This might include meeting new people or sharing your thoughts with other as taking a chance is better than regretting it for the rest of our lives.Listen to the entire episode here!

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 5, 2019 5:19

I, Natasha Lalwani, welcome you back to another episode of my podcast, Unfiltered Emotions Unplugged. Now I know that many of you must be wondering how the unconscious mind differs to the subconscious mind so let’s just start be defining the unconscious mind. The unconscious mind is the storehouse of all memories and past experiences, both those that have been repressed through trauma and those that have simply been consciously forgotten and no longer important to us. It’s from these memories and experiences that our beliefs, habits, and behaviors are formed.By now you’ll are well versed with my previous episode on how powerful the subconscious mind is, however there is another realm of the subconscious which is unconscious awareness that communicates with the conscious mind via our subconscious.Psychologists and Psychiatrists prefer using the term unconscious while relating to thoughts that are not part of our conscious mind. Please do NOT confuse the unconscious mind with the medical term of unconsciousness which means to be sedated. So unconsciousness is what gives meaning to all our interactions with the world through our beliefs and habits. Like the subconscious, the unconscious also communicates through emotions, sensations, imagination and dreams. When it comes to storing memories, the unconscious mind stores them on a deeper level than the subconscious mind which is why counseling therapies and consultations are done. These memories are based on deep-rooted beliefs that many times trigger habits and make us do wrong actions and take wrong decisions in life. In other words, the unconscious mind is the storehouse of all our deep seated emotions that have been programmed since birth. These include repressed memories which we do not wish to remember such as a traumatic event in our childhood. But not all memories have to be traumatic as not recalling a childhood friend’s name is also part of the unconscious. This is the place where you will receive significant changes to attain the results you desire. Now you might ask yourself how to become aware of the unconscious mind in order to create certain changes in your life. To be honest, it isn’t as easy as tapping into the subconscious mind because many memories and emotions are layered by lots of pain or experiences. However, there are psychoanalytical methods that can bring these memories to the surface so that they can be treated and gotten rid of in the case of traumas. Such methods are either hypnosis or triggering a certain event which helps you to recall that memory. What is essential to understand is that we cannot by choice remember anything in our unconscious mind without some special event or technique. Whereas in the subconscious, we can chose to remember as the memories are closer to the surface and more easily accessible by focusing on them through meditative and healing forms.Listen to the entire episode here!

Welcome to another episode of Unfiltered Emotions Unplugged.During the last episode, I discussed what exactly the subconscious mind is and how it plays a vital role in our lives. Today I will be throwing light on the fundamental differences between the conscious and the subconscious mind.We all can recall Sigmund Freud’s controversial ideals, but he was one of the first to categorize the mind into 3 different parts: the conscious mind or ego, the preconscious which we call subconscious and the unconscious mind. Now before you’ll wonder what exactly is the unconscious mind, let me inform you’ll that I will be talking about it in next week’s episode and look forward to many comments as not everybody has tapped the unconscious mind or even knows about it.It is rightly said that we are conscious of our actions as when you are conscious of something you are aware of that act or belief. Therefore, the conscious mind is the mind of stored thoughts and awareness, hence raising its awareness leads one to go within and discover the subconscious mind. Various research studies have proven that the main differences between the conscious and subconscious mind depends on the basic human functions and mental processes. In other words, the conscious mind is responsible for rationalizing and logical thinking whereas the subconscious mind is in charge for involuntary actions.Within the conscious mind, you rationalize, pay attention, think logically, reason out and control daily voluntary actions such as running, eating, decision making, planning strategies and executing them, communication through languages and skills, etcConversely, the subconscious mind is responsible for involuntary actions such as breathing, memory, digestion, beliefs, attitudes, gut instincts, reflex actions, imagination, heartbeat, emotions, etcListen tot the entire episode here!

EPISODE 5: THE POWER OF THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND

Welcome back to a brand new episode of Unfiltered Emotions Unplugged. This is your host Natasha Lalwani. As mentioned in one of my previous episodes, the power of the subconscious mind is more vast than what any of us can imagine. So let’s dedicate today’s episode to what makes us think from our heart which is the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is so powerful that it can do a trillion things at one time; it registers everything and is always alert; in fact, it controls 95% of our lives as it is 30,000 times more powerful than the conscious mind. It is the emotional mind as it has no language and only operates on sounds and emotions; affirmations make us feel good, which lifts our energies and taps into the subconscious mind. As it has no language and only functions through emotions, it speaks to you in your dreams and sends you divine messages (warnings, bright ideas…)But guess what? It is very easy to fool the subconscious mind as it obeys you and takes everything literally. Just think about this for a moment. How do you think that people achieve the impossible in life? Or how magicians create such mind-blowing magic tricks? It is all done by controlling the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind helps you to focus, make the right choices, lose weight, keep illnesses away, balance finances and all other aspects of your life. Keep on visualizing and day-dreaming as that’s the only way the subconscious mind will reciprocate in the manner than you want it to; what we don’t actively perceive will not become a reality. Your subconscious mind controls things so that you can multi-task (ex: when we drive we are always thinking of many things so while our conscious mind drifts away the subconscious mind is always alert and perceives danger)-we might not get the message as we are not in alignment with the subconscious mind. So, don’t focus only on your goals but also on its journey so that the subconscious mind can work towards it.The famous Dr. Joseph Murphy always referred to the subconscious mind as the subjective mind and the conscious to be the objective mind as we command our subconscious mind to behave according to what we believe as a reality, even though it might not yet have physically manifested as a reality. This is the only reason why affirmations might not work at times as we chant them on a daily basis but do not believe them with unlimited faith to already being manifested as our reality. As I had stated before, the subconscious mind only understands the language of emotions, hence until and unless you do not believe and feel the contentment you would once this affirmation materializes, nothing will change. For instance, if you keep on affirming that you want to buy a certain car and day in day out you keep on imagining each and every detail of it while affirming it with complete faith that you already have it, you will be surprised how the Universe works to bring this certain model into your life. Let’s bring a closure here with Earl Nightingale’s very famous quote, “Whatever we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish it with repetition and emotion, will one day become a reality.” So plant your positive seeds well and water them with consistency and love.As many of you all must be wondering, in the following episode, I will clarify the fundamental differences between the conscious and the subconscious mind.

Welcome to another episode of Unfiltered Emotions Unplugged. This is your host Natasha Lalwani. Today we will discuss a very sensitive topic many times shunned by the society with the owner of Brains On Wheels, Ailsa Speak. The human spirit is one of ability, perseverance and courage that no disability can steal away; hence today’s topic will be on the ability of disability.Ailsa Speak, who is this inspiring and talented young woman with Cerebral Palsy, is the owner of Brains on Wheels. Ailsa, please tell us about this concept?Ailsa: Brains on Wheels is my personal blog. If you have read my blog, I am sure that you will be aware that it’s all about raising awareness of disabilities. I focus on Cerebral Palsy because that’s the easiest as I have CP myself. I talk about various subjects surrounding disabilities. I think so many people just dismiss me because they think they won't be able to understand me or the other way around. There is no doubt that other people feel the same way about this, so I want to help to put a stop to this. This is partly why I created Brains on Wheels.I feel that too many people are afraid to talk about disabilities because they think that they might offend another person, or they might feel awkward talking about it. In my opinion, you have nothing to stop you talking about things and if other people don't like it, then it's their problem, not yours. Never be afraid to talk about disabilities or illnesses.I totally agree with you Ailsa; one should never be afraid to talk about such sensitive yet essential topics which are dismissed by the society. What exactly is Cerebral Palsy and how did you get it? Ailsa: CP is an umbrella term for lots of different neurological disorders, caused by damage to the brain. There are lots of different types of CP, and it varies a huge amount from person to person. Cerebral Palsy is a non-progressive (does not get better or worse) umbrella term for different disorders that affect an individual's muscle control. CP can affect different people in different ways and no two cases of Cerebral Palsy are exactly the same. When I was born, I didn’t breathe. I was stillborn, but I was revived as it took the doctors about twenty minutes to bring me back to life. Around five percent of babies are born on their due date, and I was one of them.As far as I'm aware I was fine when I was in my mum's womb, but when I came through the birth canal the doctors lost my heartbeat, which is normal, but when I came out, I didn't breathe. At that point, the doctors didn't know whether I would live or not. Then they said I would live but they didn't know how long for and what quality of life I would have. Finally, they said I would live a good quality of life, like anyone else. As a result of me not breathing, in that period when my brain didn’t get the oxygen I needed, brain damage occurred. I was on a ventilator for two days; the ventilator took breaths for me by pumping oxygen around my body and into my brain. I had tubes all over me which was to help me breathe. If I didn't have the tubes on me, you could never tell that there was anything wrong with me because I was a perfect colour, all the other babies were premature, or they had something wrong that was visible. There were about three stillborn babies on that day, and I was the only one that survived. The doctors turned my life support down, so they could find out whether I would breathe on my own, and I did. I came off the ventilator on my sister's birthday, which was a wonderful birthday present for her.To listen to the entire episode just click on the episode tab!

Episodio 3: Entrevista Con Danielle Martins Sobre Esclavitud Mental

Bienvenidos a Emociones Sin Filtros. Realmente no cambiaría nada. Siempre tengo mentores.Escucha al episodio entero aqui!

Welcome back to Unfiltered Emotions Unplugged. This is your host Natasha Lalwani. As promised to you, in today’s episode, we will discuss various mind-blowing insights with reputed co-author and transformational coach, Danielle Martins.Natasha: You, Danielle were raised in poverty and underwent a lot of mental assassination which continued and formed your beliefs. If you look back, what would you change and how would you change it so that other people know how to handle such a situation?Danielle: Well, this is an interesting question for it brings to the table something that a lot of people are missing today: The importance of being grateful for who you are.I wouldn't really change anything. Yes, there was a time in my life that I would have wished things were different but in fact, I wouldn't be the person I am today if I hadn't endured so many difficulties in my past. I am not saying that I am happy that I had to go through all the things I had to in my youth, but we all have some negative past experiences, some darker and deeper than others, but the truth is, we all must learn how to make peace with those experiences for they cannot be changed: what was, is in the past. All we've got is the present moment and the time for us to write our future is in the “now”! Like a diamond, our character is shaped under great pressure. Instead of asking questions like: - Why me? What have I done to deserve that? Why am I so unlucky?Ask questions like: - What strong abilities did I develop because of those experiences? What lessons did those experiences come to teach me, what are the outtakes? How can I use my experience and what I've learned to create a future that I really want? Give your past a new meaning and be grateful for it, that’s what I do to my clients, I help them in finding the positive side of everything they went through so they can move forward with a new mindset. I am grateful for my past.Natasha: The blog that you had written for my website, blogashopper.com was very much appreciated as mental turmoil is such a common issue and yet very few people know how to deal with it. You mentioned 3 golden nuggets in your blog, so which of them is your favourite or the one that you practice the most?Danielle: All 3 are very, very important, I wouldn't live without practicing any of them but the 1st one, about having a mentor, is a must! Because nobody wins by doing everything by themselves. You can go forward alone but in order to keep always stretching and reaching higher levels, you need mentors. If you want to learn more about business, you need a mentor who can guide you on that subject; if you want to deliver a great speech on a prestigious stage, i.g., you need a mentor; if you want to be a better leader, you'll need the guidance of a master leader. Likewise, if you want to develop yourself by getting rid of fear, insecurity, limiting beliefs, you will also need a mentor who can help you and so on. All the great achievers in history had/have mentors and that's one the most important reasons for their success. I always have mentors.Listen to the entire episode here!

Episode 2: The Art Of Never Giving Up

Welcome back to Unfiltered Emotions UnpluggedAs mentioned in our previous episode, winners are not those people who never fail but those people who never give up.Today’s topic will be on never giving up! I have met people from all walks of life with all sorts of perspectives and experiences. The one similar factor between all of them is their die-hard attitude to never give up.Let’s begin by discussing a few bitter but true realities about life: nobody ever said that life is supposed to be a cake walk and we shall only enjoy everlasting happiness. In fact even if there are great people out there who have it all today, have mostly risen from painful and miserable pasts. So one’s experience teaches him/her what to want and what not to want from life. Also, we need to understand that each one of us has some problem or the other and it entirely depends on how we see it. If we ponder over a problem rather than working on the solution and already manifesting it as a reality, life indeed does become easier! Moreover, failures are nothing but stepping stones before we reach our purpose so we shouldn’t allow our failures to take over and alter our confidence level. Confidence and unshakable belief is the only thing that will get you through the worst.Personally speaking, I too have had my share of disappointments in life but if I had to sit down and cry over them and then give up, I wouldn’t have the understanding and awareness that I have today. So if you feel that you are all alone let me tell you my friend that most of us are constantly in this battle of not surrendering to the easy and or negative way out. You just have to remain determined on never caving in to what goes against your principles or heart’s desires. Listen to this entire episode and begin practicing the art of NEVER GIVING UP!

Welcome to Unfiltered Emotions Unplugged Podcast! This is your host Natasha LalwaniAre you sick and tired of living a monotonous and meaningless life? Wouldn’t you wish to live a happy and prosperous life? How about facing all your fears, insecurities and doubts without having to join any rigorous or expensive seminars and instead by tuning into weekly inspirational tips and talks discussing mental and emotional health? Here at Unfiltered Emotions Unplugged, I will walk you through valuable insights to get rid of all the unnecessary baggage you are holding onto which is preventing you from living the life of your dreams. But before I begin, let me introduce myself; I am Natasha Lalwani, a podcaster, motivational speaker, writer, blogger, fashion designer and stylist. I am blessed to share various cultures as I was born and brought up in Spain by Indian parents. What was at one time a meaningless life is today a great journey. Today I am a successful entrepreneur owning two companies but that wasn’t how it started off. I was a dyslexic child who used to sit at the back row of each classroom so that my teachers and classmates wouldn’t make a mockery out of me and call me “dumb." This very journey from a fearful, introvert girl with no self-confidence and self-love to a successful and empowering woman has been quite like being on a roller-coaster.There will be many episodes where I will share with you certain anecdotes, milestones and failures before I reached this chapter in my life. But before that let me dedicate this introductory podcast to one of my favorite topics which is having gratitude. Trillions of people all around the world practice the “attitude of gratitude” as it is one of the most powerful human emotions we possess. Many of us start off our days by being grateful for all that we have, most of which are the simplest and basic for us, but a luxury for others. Conversely, when we aren’t grateful for all that we do have, we tend to take people and things for granted and become judgmental towards them. This creates mental blocks with clustered negative thoughts and emotions that penetrate through us and make us feel devastated. So we should always appreciate all the people, events, and experiences in our lives as well as appreciate ourselves for all the time, effort, and energy we channelize on us. I have always stressed on the fact that self-love is essential in having a balanced life; thus self-gratitude is a focal point of self-love. If we don’t appreciate ourselves then how will others appreciate us for what we truly are?You choose how to practice gratitude and make it a habit. Experiment new and fun ways which you are most welcome to share in the comments below. Let’s wind up here by reminding ourselves that feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.
