We dive into Disney's Memory Maker, the ultimate way to capture and relive every magical moment of your Walt Disney World vacation. We'll break down what Memory Maker is, how much it costs, and what's included—from attraction photos and Magic Shots to character meet-and-greets and dining experiences. Whether you're striking a pose, caught in a scream, or making a silly face with your travel crew, ride photos are a snapshot in time that bring the magic home with you. But not all ride photos are created equal so we're talking about them all. We'll explore what makes a great PhotoPass experience, from the timing and placement of the camera to the quality of the image and how well it captures the spirit of the attraction. Some offer the perfect moment to show off your themed shirts or matching ears, while others might catch you totally off guard. A few might leave you wondering where the camera even was, while others deliver the kind of image you'll want to frame the moment you get home.As Walt Disney World regulars, we've had our fair share of ride photos—some amazing, some hilarious, and a few we'd rather forget. In this episode, we'll reflect on the overall experience of these in-ride captures, how they add to the magic, and which ones really stand out. These images are part of the joy and surprise that comes with every Disney visit. It's time to say “cheese,” hold on tight, and find out which Walt Disney World attraction PhotoPass comes out on top!MEI-Travel – Expertise. The New Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Photo Ops for 2023Where to find them and where to find some Returning Favorites as WellMickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is now scaring things up at Magic Kingdom Park, and Disney PhotoPass photographers have some brand new spooky shots and spots taking place during the event.New photos include Donald Duck's mischievous nephews, the Lonesome Ghosts, Maleficent and more. Plus many of your favorite Magic Shots are also back this year, including the Headless Horseman and Oogie Boogie. Where to Find Disney Photo Ops during Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party Multiple locations (Evil Queen's hand and a poison apple) NEW! At the entrance to the park and on Main Street, U.S.A. (TinkerBell in your hand and Halloween Mickey balloons, Donald's nephews in costume, lonesome ghosts) NEW! Town Square near the flag pole (holding a Mickey shaped pumpkin) Select spots in front of and near Cinderella Castle (fire pumpkin) Near the gardens in front of Casey's Corner and The Plaza Restaurant (pumpkin patch) NEW! Liberty Square near the Hall of Presidents (hitchhiking ghosts, headless horseman) In front of the Haunted Mansion (holding a lantern) At the castle walls near Pinocchio Village Haus (Maleficent dragon) Near the main entrance to Storybook Circus (fun photos, not scary) Near the Purple Wall (just past Tomorrowland Terrace)(scary cartoon monsters in costume) and at many of the party character greetings Some of the coolest Disney photo opportunities with the spookiest ambiance are those that you get in black and white. The best BxW shots are on Main Street: Walt Disney's classic dancing skeletons and a very spooky misty ambiance mood shot with bats and large moon. This one would make the perfect portrait. Favorite shots: bubbling cauldron (near the gardens by Casey's Corner and The Plaza Restaurant) Favorites New shots: fall TinkerBell in your hand at the park entrance (past the train station)Thank You for Listening to the Disney Travel PodcastThank you very much for listening to this episode, Amelia and I hope that you enjoyed it. This time, the beignet flavor of choice is the Maple Pecan Pie Glazed beignets. The beignets are glazed and covered in a candy pecan and graham cracker crust, and come with a side of autumn spiced creme anglaise dipping sauce. These are available now. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/11/02/maple-pecan-pie-beignets-are-now-available-in-disneyland/ Starting a little later than the kickoff to the holidays at the resort, the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will have the “Grand” Gingerbread House. The house is a replica of the hotel, standing 7 feet tall and 12 feet wide. It is made out of 600 pounds of powdered sugar, 250 pounds of fondant, and 600 pounds of gingerbread. The gingerbread house will also feature 25 hidden Mickeys adorned around the sweet model. The GCH Holiday Cart will also feature some gingerbread goodies. {check out the entire list} Inside the parks a gingerbread Mickey Ear Hat Bowl and a gingerbread Bottle Topper will be on sale. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/11/disney-eats-unveils-new-foodie-guide-to-cant-miss-gingerbread-displays-2022/ Festival of the Holidays hasn't started yet, but like most things for the holidays, some of the merchandise has already arrived at the resort. Festival of the Holidays 2022 pins are available in a number of different designs and are limited edition. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2022/11/festival-of-holidays-2022-pins-arrive-at-disney-california-adventure/ Magic Shots are here for the holidays from your friendly neighborhood PhotoPass photographer! There are some options in front of the Christmas tree on Buena Vista Street, and a Magic Key specific shot by Silly Symphony Swings. Guests typically have 45 days to download their Magic Shot photos through their Disneyland account before they disappeared, but that has been extended to a full calendar year! – https://dlnewstoday.com/2022/11/holiday-magic-shots-now-available-at-disney-california-adventure-photo-expiration-date-extended/ Guests who have been heading to the resort from the Harbor Boulevard side may have noticed that for a while now, the sign for the resort has been looking less than stellar. Fear not! The crews are already at work on repainting the sign and getting it back in pristine order for guests to be welcomed to Disneyland, as well as thanking guests for visiting. MiceChat thinks that it might be getting a facelift to promote Disney100, which will be centered in Disneyland. – https://www.micechat.com/338333-disneyland-news-a-storm-is-brewing/ Weeklyteers who love to shop, this next story is for you! At select locations, there is now the option to order items through mobile checkout and then come and pick it up later in the day. The store will hold the item, which could be amazing for some of the hard to get or larger items for sale in the parks. To be clear, a guest needs to go into the store and purchase the item through mobile checkout like before, but now there is an option to have them hold it for you. – https://www.micechat.com/338333-disneyland-news-a-storm-is-brewing/ Over at the Animation Building in Disney California Adventure, two sisters are back for their meet and greet! Anna and Elsa are finally back meeting with their subjects. They are really popular, so be ready to wait for a bit in line to see them. – https://www.micechat.com/338333-disneyland-news-a-storm-is-brewing/ Discussion Topic: Holiday Foodie Guide! – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/11/disney-eats-delivers-the-foodie-guide-to-holiday-treats-at-disneyland-resort-2022/

Today I'm joined by Amy who blogs at Meet Me in Tomorrowland and she shares incredible details about multigenerational trips, which I think is just really helpful because planning a trip with a big extended family has a lot of extra details that you need to think about. Amy has been diagnosed with Celiac disease, so she also shares information about food allergies in Walt Disney World and how you handle them. Food allergies are such a serious topic and can cause anxiety and her perspective, knowledge and expertise around food allergies and your vacation is invaluable. Trip Dates: October 28 - November 3 Resort Review: Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village Disney's Boardwalk Villas Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village Sanaa Trip Planning Details Travel Party: Amy and her husband, her brother and her brother's girlfriend, Amy's father and Stepmother, her Grandmother, Aunt and Uncle Travel Agent: No - Amy books through Disney Vacation Club Disney vacation club does an amazing job making sure that we have everything we need, that we have access to anything we might want and that we find out information about things you might not have known about before the trip. Their goal is to make sure that you have the perfect trip every time you come down. Tickets: Most of the travel party had Annual Passes Memory Maker: Yes (Included with the Annual Pass) Disney Dining Plan: No - Tables in Wonderland Dining in Disney World with a Food Allergy The Itinerary Arrival Day: Hollywood Studios Amy's Pro Tip: The credit card you use at check-in can be a security guarantee. Then at the end of your vacation, before you checkout, you can pay down your balance with Disney gift cards! This is a fantastic way to save money on your vacation because you can purchase Disney gift cards at a discounted rate at places like Raise, Target using your Red Card, BJs. Everyone's going to be starting with their first day to and work through them systematically. Start out with your farthest day of your vacation first. If you do this, you are more likely to get those hard-to-get-FastPasses. For additional information on this strategy, read this article. No matter how many times you have been there to see the big change over from one holiday to another, it is just spectacular. And you just stand there and think how hard these people must have worked all night to change this park over to be this whole new park in just a matter of hours. So that was really cool. I had a fantastic chat with Amanda who vacationed to Walt Disney World in September with her husband and her brother. We discussed a lot of details, especially around the free dining promotion and the Disney Dining Plan. She also gave a great review of Saratoga Springs, so we talked a lot about that lesser-known resort, which I think is really helpful. We dove into Food and Wine Festival just a little bit and Amanda shares her FastPass+ strategies. Just wait until you hear the most FastPasses she has ever gotten in one day. Get ready. Is Disney World just for kids? So many people ask, can I go as an adult (without kids) or is that weird? A lot of people think that Disney World is just for kids and Amanda's brother was one of those people. He thought that Walt Disney World was just a place for kids and he wasn't going to enjoy it, but it really is just somewhere that you can go and relax and enjoy yourself. They've truly got something for everyone. It's fantastic. Resort Review: Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa Two-bedroom Villa, DVC (Disney Vacation Club) (I highly recommend Shipt or Amazon Prime Now for grocery delivery to the Disney World resorts.) Disney Springs Trip Planning Details Park Hopper: Yes Memory Maker: Yes Make sure you ask for Magic Shots! Disney Dining Plan: Yes Dining reservations: Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' in Disney Springs. If you can't get a reservation on My Disney Experience, check Open Table! FastPass+ Strategy: This was the first time Amanda has vacationed to Hollywood studios since Toy Story Land opened, so Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers were first on her list. She was up 7:00 AM EST, 60 days out because she was staying on property. Favorite time of year in Walt Disney World: Food and Wine Festival time.
