Does property undermine development, and specifically, the construction of infrastructure? Along with co-host Aurora Echaverria, we discuss Prof. Alisha Holland's article "Roadblocks: How Property Rights Undermine Development in Colombia". Looking at the case of Colombia, Prof. Holland argues that strong property rights encourage opportunistic behaviors that undermine infrastructure investments, even though political economy models define property rights as essential for economic development. This is especially important given the lengths that Colombia's president-elect, Gustavo Petro, went to great lengths to promise to never expropriate. Is it time to rethink property rights, from the left as well as the right? Check it out the article: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1111/ajps.12706 Prof. Alisha Holland is an Associate Professor in the Government Department at Harvard University studying the comparative political economy of development with a focus on urban politics, social policy, and Latin America. Aurora Echavarria is a PhD student in Urban Planning at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she is a graduate fellow in the Latin American Cities Initiative. Her research centers on the relation between systems of local government finances, property taxation and the dynamics of urban inequality in public good provision. Aurora's dissertation research is supported by the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy's C. Lowell Harriss Dissertation Fellowship.

Land has been central to economic inequality for centuries. Today, we sometimes see homeownership as a path to the middle class, but it is important to see how this particular asset still drives inequality. This panel discusses the past and present of ideas like Henry George's land value tax, hoping to draw lessons for the real economy. SpeakersJo Guldi is a scholar of the history of Britain and its empire who is especially involved in questions of state expansion, the contestation of property under capitalism, and how state and property concepts are recorded in the landscape of the built environment. These themes informed her first book, Roads to Power, which examined Britain's interkingdom highway and its users from 1740 to 1848. They also inform her current research into rent disputes and land reform for my next monograph, The Long Land War, which profiles three moments in the history of property: the Irish Land Court of 1881 and its invention of rent control, the ideology of "squatting" in post-1940 Britain, and the creation of the "participatory map" for contesting legal boundaries in Britain and India in the 1970s and 80s.Alisha C. Holland is an associate professor in the Government Department at Harvard University. She studies the comparative political economy of development with a focus on Latin America. Her first book, Forbearance as Redistribution: The Politics of Informal Welfare in Latin America (Cambridge University Press, 2017), examines the politics of law enforcement against the poor. She is working on a new book on the institutional determinants and challenges of large-scale infrastructure projects.ModeratorMatt Prewitt is RadicalxChange Foundation’s president, a writer and blockchain industry advisor, and a former plaintiff's side antitrust and consumer class action litigator and federal law clerk.

’Tis the season for endless holiday specials. I remember torturing my parents by requiring us to all watch the same crappy shows every year… “Here Comes Santa Claus” or “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” or watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade or seeing “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” for the upteenth time… it was really a sacrifice because back then we didn’t have more than one TV in the house and it wasn’t like my Dad could watch something else or play on his iPad while I watched “A Very Brady Christmas” again. I’m surprised I wasn’t abused. But now, you can get back at your kids by listening to this on the way to wherever you are going … Let’s start with a Thanksgiving sketch about everyone’s favorite holiday side dish… “It’s a New World Delicacy” Of course, Thanksgiving is great and all… especially when that one uncle with the confederate flag on his truck drinks a little too much and starts a good, healthy conversation about politics… but let’s face it, Thanksgiving only exists so that we can celebrate the holiday that really matters… Black Friday! Here are a couple of sketches that really highlight the pleasant memories of Black Friday’s past… “It’s More Like Brown Friday, You Know What I Mean?” “The Saddest Part of Black Friday” You know it’s time to really hit the holiday gas when Starbucks brings out their holiday cups. Really, how else are you going to know when to start drinking peppermint mochas and put a lid on the pumpkin spice for a year. That’s right, there has never been a year those cups didn’t completely disappoint and cause people to lose their damn minds. “Red Cups” Now we get to the part of the show that is all musical. I’ll just let these go uninterrupted. First up, we have a song about Santa Claus that may have been unexpectedly kinky, then we have another classic that features a celebrity that takes an already rape-y song and makes it more rape-y. After that, we have rock legend Don Henley send mixed signals with his holiday classic and that is followed up by an updated version of “The Grinch” which will likely give you reason to head to UrbanDictionary.com. “The Most Unintentionally Inappropriate Christmas Song of All Time” "Baby It's Coz In Here" “Don Henley’s Most Personal Song Ever” “How The Grinch Stole Innocence” Hopefully all of those wonderful songs got your toes tapping and your voices all prepped, because one of the best things about the holidays is accosting your fellow neighbors with your unprepared voices to regale them with songs that you likely don’t know while they keep their front doors open to the bitter cold. That’s right, caroling! “Carols of the Dumbbells” What is Christmas going to become in the future? Well, we know one thing that will never go out of style… nostalgia. What is nostalgia going to look like in 2036? Kids will be just as disappointed as they are now. “Christmas Nostalgia from the Future” Well, that concludes Sketch Comedy Podcast Show’s End-of-Year One-Hour Holiday Special. I hope you have had a fun time listening, had a wonderful year and have all of your loved-ones near and close to you. Stay warm and enjoy eating all the goodies! I look forward to bringing you more interesting people having intriguing conversations and then improvising comedy sketches based on what we talked about next year and hopefully many years afterwards. As a special special bonus, after the end credits there is a song performed by former co-host Alisha Holland where she purposely does a horrible rendition of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas”. Watch the sketch on YouTuber here!: Let me tell you about Jim Asbell. Not only is Jim one of the best people I ever had the pleasure to work with, he saved my tookus more than once and helped me realize I was probably working in the wrong place, but he is also just a fantastic human being. What makes him fantastic? Well, he is one of the last people to have polio… wait, that doesn’t make him fantastic, that just makes him have polio…. Well, he is also dying from stage IV colon cancer! What the hell am I talking about? That doesn’t make him fantastic, that just makes me sad. Oh, I know what I meant to say: even though he has had hardship from the time he was very little, and got the rotten luck of getting cancer later in life, he approaches these things with more zest and gusto than I deal with someone at McDonalds getting my order wrong. Jim is so dedicated to living life to the fullest, and having other people do the same, he wrote an amazing book entitled “Live Well With Terminal Illness and Other Crappy Diseases” (buy a copy here: http://amzn.to/2miEt9t and all proceeds are donated to cancer research). Not only is it a good book to read if you are dying, it is a tremendous read for anyone who is feeling particularly stuck in this world. You have no idea how good you have it, but Jim does and let’s you know you are wasting it. Not only that, but he does amazing portraits of pets! (jimmy-asbell.pixels.com). Oh, we talk about all the things, and we also record a sketch which had my jaw on the floor… Jimmy knows how to party! Honestly, I usually try to talk to you about something blah blah blah about this podcast, but you really should read “Live Well with Terminal Illness and other Crappy Diseases” it is really good. You can even get the Audible version! That’s how I read it! When we need spiritual guidance, where is the first place we turn? The internet, of course! After getting caught in a YouTube spiral for three days the next place you go is to church. Church is the place where we reset the moral compass and get our souls back on track. We seek counseling from our church leaders and listen intently to their well-crafted and loving sermons. Well, most of the time. Actually, I haven’t been to church in a very long time and that’s actually been pretty good for me, except it’s harder to get casual sex. We love podcasts and we know you do too! We also know you love this podcast best, but there are other podcasts to listen to. One you could absolutely choose to do that with is “Designated Drinkers”. Do you like drinkers who drink? Of course you do! That’s what this podcast is about! Looking forward to the next episode! Actually, here is what the challenge is: If you are an Apple device user, go on to Apple Podcasts or iTunes and leave us a review. How do we determine the charity? Whichever side wins this battle of the internet forever, a random reviewer will be picked and the entirety of the donation will be given to that person’s desired charity in their name! Watch the sketch on YouTube here!: Alisha comes back (or forward, depending on how time works for you). She’s fun, she co-created the original show, blah blah blah. First off, apologies for the apparent vacuums that are coming out of our faces. This was an episode where the technical difficulties definitely overwhelmed us, which is why this is kind of a lost episode. For some reason, Alisha’s audio vanished, but after a lot of processing I was able to get it back. Why did I spend so much time on this? Because what a delightful conversation about Stuart’s anatomy, Alisha’s horrifying movie experience and more! Then, we use a thing that happened at one of Stuart’s daughter’s cheer competitions to come up with a sketch. Season 2 is going to be great! I’m really excited about it! So far I have assembled some pretty fun names and pretty interesting people. The season is going to start off with a great sketch with Mike Phirman of “Hard ’n Phirm” fame. There are a number of songs of theirs that I absolutely adore, especially “Anything” It is one of the most inspirational songs I have ever heard… for some. New season debuts September 3rd! Just in time for back to school! In celebration of @Stoopac’s daughter, @aleyriice going to the Cheerleading National Championships (#NotSoHumbleBrag), we revisit an episode that was lost about a year ago! During one of the competitions from a couple of years ago, there was a team that competed using a cheer that included the phrase “white is our power” and then there was a whole Trump cheerleading thing that happened and… well… it resulted in this sketch. Alisha did a really good job coming up with cheers on the fly. When I think of the podcasts that really influenced me in starting my own, I have to look to the stars, and one of my favorite podcasts of all-time “The Improvised Star Trek”. I love this show so much. Follow the adventures of the USS Sissyphus and their fearless(?) Captain Julius Valentine Baxter as they traverse the universe on their 5 year mission to… um… I am pretty sure they have a mission, don’t they? Beam down new episodes to your phone and listen to the group improvise their way through an entire episode of Star Trek based on a show title they get from their audience. It is brilliant, and the sound design is fantastic as well. (http://www.theimprovisedstartrek.com) Next episode is the final re-release of the Summer ReRuns. I’m not going to lie, I’m glad I finally got a chance to remaster and reconfigure the show this way but I’m excited to get to the new stuff! Though we were not connecting on the recording of this sketch, it turned out awesome! There is a YouTube channel we believe you should be visiting, and it’s the Sketch Comedy Podcast Show channel on YouTube! (bit.ly/SCPSyoutube) It’s kind of great, and getting better all of the time! Visit sketchcomedypodcastshow.com for a link directly to our YouTube page where you can listen to individual sketches, recording sessions, and then complete shows! However you like to get your Sketch Comedy Podcast Show, YouTube has it! It’s not enough to run, these days you have to be able to track that you were running as well. What we are trying to say is, if I can’t share on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter why would I do any physical activity at all? I just realized that Facebook, Instagram and Twitter spell FIT. How appropriate! Seriously, the only reason to do exercise, so I can exercise at other people and make feel like lesser human beings. “An unexamined life is not worth living.” was said by someone at some point, I would look it up but since no one is tracking how I use the internet, what’s the point of that?!? Can we talk about something? I want to talk to you about something called “natural ability”. Now, I personally have the natural ability to literally say the weirdest thing at the weirdest times. For example, I was talking to someone recently and she said “I imagine us like a mix between ’50 Shades of Grey’ and… um…” to which I replied “‘All Dogs Go To Heaven’?” Maybe I should work on my game. But I know of one man who has amazing natural ability to say lots of words that sound good together in complete stories that are really insightful, intelligent and, more importantly, downright hilarious! His name: S. Anthony. The show? The appropriately named “S. Anthony Says”… take a listen, you will not regret it. Next show is another Alisha show recorded long, long ago, like almost 2 years ago long, long ago. It is so strangely and eerily appropriate right now… Sketch Comedy Podcast show is an independent and completely improvised sketch podcast that is based on conversations with interesting people like YOU! Listen to the sketch on YouTube here!: https://youtu.be/RGJQnvKXOVM This is one of my favorite all-time sketches that Alisha and I did, I think it is fantastic and really just well executed. Sometimes some of my favorite humor is when a character gets into a really uncomfortable or awkward situation and sees his or her way through it, this is not one of those cases. Also, the punchline on this sketch was perfect. So we have finished migrating the podcast over to the new service, iTunes has been updated and now you can actually see our delightful artwork in Apple Podcasts and hopefully everywhere! That has been a thing I have wanted so badly for so long! Also, I want to really quickly read a review from someone and urge you to jump onto whatever service you are using and give us a quick 5-star review. If you do, I will absolutely read one at the beginning of every episode! I would really appreciate this, I would like to get at least 100 reviews by the end of summer, so I need one a day… you could be the one! Also, do you happen to have an amazon echo? If you do that’s great! You can actually just ask Alexa to play “Sketch Comedy Podcast Show and she will totally do it! And now onto Alisha and my discussion about spider gender and feces… totally classy! We also record a sketch about our deepest, darkest fears…. Muahahahahaha-ahem… enjoy this week’s show. And don’t forget to stick around after the show to hear us improvise the actual sketch! Zootopia is a remake of a classic sci-fi movie. Stuart gets attacked by a spider and then Alisha and Stuart try to figure out the spider’s gender. This episode was out of the space-time continuum, and should have been released before last week’s episode but go check that one out too because Dr. Kiki! Alisha did something called Questival which is a 24-hour scavenging hunt; Alisha learns how to become a true a**hole about it. Alisha officiated a wedding and did not sleep for 39 hours so she could legally kill someone; Stuart ruined said wedding and would have been a good victim. Summertime is terrible because kids require things. The sketch is fantastic. Pooping is never an option while sexy time, but sometimes it might be better than trying to race home. A smorgasbord of feces ensued. Forks should never be the tool one uses for plumbing. Alisha and Stuart decide the best upgrade for any toilet is a blender. Listen to the sketch on YouTube here!: https://youtu.be/EmRV86iTXQc This week, we go back to the laboratory and try something different with the format of the show, as was suggested by friend of the show Jason Marshall (@jasonmarshall2) who he himself has a great podcast called “We Don’t Have Cookies” (URL) which Stuart has actually had the pleasure of being on (you can listen to that episode here: URL). So we are going to call this the Marshall Initiative and see if you like it better. I think it makes the most interesting parts of the show front and center and am pretty sure it will be a crowd favorite as well. We start off with the conversation between Alisha and Stuart. Stuart gets offensive in the introduction. Alisha went to the coast to a casino for her birthday played the inside and won! But still won’t put any money into the show. Stuart should never play craps because he causes people a lot of pain. Stuart is “huggable” and he wants to cry. Alisha and Stuart agree that Paul Rudd is the ultimate; Alisha talks about her dream Rudd hug and Stuart feels sexually confused. Dane Cook… that’s all. Stuart teases the new format of the show… and look what happened! It’s really funny that we talk about formats and are still trying to figure it out. Alisha was depressed for her birthday and then went to a Bernie Sanders rally and took it upon herself to annoy other people by trying to keep them safe. Stuart went to a massage-a-tois event… listen to get info. Stuart won’t go to a nude beach by himself anymore because he had a REALLY bad experience and now understands why women don’t hang out at pools and beaches by themselves. Alisha reminds Stuart of how lickable his balls are and it reminds Stuart of another flattering story about them. Warning: There is a story about Stuart going to the nude beach and things go awry. We talk scales, like how people would superficially judge other people, and Alisha ranks Stuart above average; Stuart smartly doesn’t even approach this subject. The two play the “essence” game, which is just as pretentious as it sounds like. The sketch: As if it could be possible to become MORE superficial, the brilliant minds behind the Tinder app somehow find a way to get the app even more addictive… regardless of the effects on your soul. Listen to the sketch on YouTube here!: https://youtu.be/jP03Pas3jmQ Hey everyone! It’s the second episode! Once again I am lucky to have Alisha Holland on the podcast with me and we have a great time coming up with a sketch about childhood dreams gone awry. Also, you are invited to come and check out the new website! I love it! It’s a combination of the episodes, a blog, and it’s all wrapped up into a tidy little package. If you are thinking about starting a podcast and would like some tips, please go to the new website and contact me and one of the things I will suggest is finding the right podcast hosting company… I finally think I have done that. And now, enjoy episode 2 “I Want a Pony”: During the recording session, we talked about all sorts of good things like #DuckFetish #OnFappingPond and other things related to water fowl. Alisha gets older. Send us money, or send money to Bernie Sanders, either way, if you match Alisha’s age in money to either get at T-shirt! #HipsterEmo - The hipster that knows too much, and Stuart’s new Halloween costume. Alisha and Stuart converse about great bargain stores #BargainAlley. Alisha celebrated her birthday and played bingo. Stuart crumbles to peer pressure. There was almost a Dukes of Hazzard moment which leads to a weird interaction with a cop. A phrase that should never be used on a nude beach is discussed. Gross kid stories are discussed. Alisha believes John Cougar Mellencamp and Prince are the same person. She is going to LOVE that statement. STD checks make you a virgin again. The sketch recording is, quite possibly, the most tense and uncomfortable moment on the podcast… Join us for it! Childhood dreams are great, until they come to reality as adults. When we are children, we spend most of our days and hours just dreaming about two things: our birthdays and Christmas; unless you don’t celebrate those things. But for most of us, those are the two things we focus on. Our entire brain is consumed with magical visions of amazing gifts… and then we usually just get gift cards. Childhood is pretty dumb. Listen to the sketch on YouTube here!: Welcome to the first episode of Sketch Comedy Podcast Show! Well, not the first episode, but the first episode of the revamped Sketch Comedy Podcast Show. Catch the sketch alone on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/K5fFeNDQo So what changed? Well, we found out that people like to hear the discussions that lead to the sketches, so we decided that should be part of the show. Then, we decided that instead of doing four sketches in a week, we went with one a week. Lastly, it felt like it was time to start inviting other people to be on the show finally, so we decided to do that. Then, my partner on the podcast, Alisha, decided it was time to take a hiatus. It was a bit of a crisis, because I didn’t know what to do… suddenly I was forced to make a decision: Do I carry on and talk into a microphone on my own or do I wrap up the show and be done with it? Then, I realized that the show could exist, but it couldn’t be the same. It never really will be, and I really love the show Sketch Comedy Podcast Show was, but to be completely honest, I love this new version so much more. The reason? It’s about finding people, people who are not what you would normally expect to hear on a comedy podcast like scientists, lawyers, other podcasters, everyday people doing extraordinary things, and making them incredibly vulnerable by asking them to do something that terrifies most people: being funny. But somehow, they do it and it is fucking amazing. So join me in applauding the people who decided to take the plunge and do so gracefully and, more often than not, hilariously. As you listen, if you feel like you could do this and you are also an interesting person, please let me know! There is a spot on the website (sketchcomedypodcastshow@gmail.com) at the top that states “Be A Guest” (https://form.jotform.us/71530480274149) Click on it, fill out the form, and let’s start talking! This first episode, and there are a lot this season that continue to do so, stars the lovely, talented, and one of my best friends Alisha Holland. You will understand why she was so integral for the genesis of the show as you listen to this first episode and you will no doubt look forward to hearing her every time she is on the podcast. And now, enjoy episode 1 “One Night Stand” Alisha evidently really likes romance novels. Stuart no longer trust secondhand desks at work. Don't allow Alisha to housesit for you #OnOrOff. Alicia is the worst/best at Facebook. Spiders out your pee-hole or scorpions out your butt? Either way: #SpiderNudes #SpiderNudes! #ArachnoPussyPhobia! 911 dispatch sounds like a great way to find the next place to score. May the 4th might be the dumbest day for the dumbest jokes. Then, they finally record a sketch. We don’t want to drudge up any bad feelings or memories, but we’ve all had that night. You know, the night that you meet that great person at the bar and then you go and have a great time with that person, and then NEVER TALK TO THEM AGAIN? Actually, that doesn’t sound so bad, but sometimes the feelings are the hardest thing to get over… and the required testing afterwards. This week’s sketch explores those feelings afterwards and tries to find the answers. Yes, it’s me again – Marc Hershon – your host and commemorative beer stein for Epi130 of Succotash, the Comedy Podcast Podcast. And I got a passel of comedy podcast clips for you. Our ace associate producer Tyson Saner harvested some. I found a couple. And we got some uploaded directly to us from podcasters themselves, using the upload link at http://hightail.com/u/Succotash. Podquest If you think you have a cool idea for a new podcast, don’t keep it to yourself. I’m saying you should tell me about it either, but you’re going to want to hang in for my chat with Julie Shapiro, who’s the executive producer with the Radiotopia network — they’ve got a baker’s dozen of shows occupying podcastland, including 99% Invisible, The Memory Palace, Song Exploder, and Mortified. But they're looking for more and they want a show that no one is doing yet. So if YOU have an idea for a show, or are doing a show that’s been bumping around, cloaked in obscurity, Radiotopia is sponsoring Podquest, the search to find that show. Julie and I talk about the contest and how you can get your concepts in front of their ears.  What's Up I’ll tell you whose clips we have on the show in a moment, but you should also know that we’ve got our Burst O’ Durst with political comedian and social commentator Will Durst. Our show's brought to you by Henderson's new Hooray For Hollywood Pants, and we have a dip into the Tweetsack, where we FINALLY Have a couple of recorded calls from our Succotash Hotline. Plus I’ve got Cursed, a really cool musical piece that Tyson put together using bits and piece from The Todd Glass Show. Our Associate Producer continues to amaze me with his talents. And we have a SECOND musical piece from our acapellanist, Abner Serd, who brings us a seasonally-appropriate tune called Joe Mann, the Self-Rolling Snowman. The Clips As for the actual shows that we’re featuring clips from this time around: Cave Crew Radio, I Am Rapaport, Local Ass Bitches, Loud & Obnoxious, Obsessed, The Potato Bureau, Russell & Mudtooth, The Sketch Comedy Podcast Show, and Spontaneanation. As a blanket thing, the podcasts that we get our clips from can be found at their homesites — click on each show's title to be whisked there instantaneously — as well as on iTunes, Stitcher, SoundCloud, and a number of other podcast distribution points on the World Wide Web. I Am Rapaport: Stereo PodcastI caught actor Michael Rapaport on WTF with Marc Maron this past week. You might know him from his work – he’s been in over 60 movies and TV projects, starting with Zebrahead through last year’s Little Boy movie. He had a great arc on the second-to-last season of TV’s Justified, too. He and his best friend, Gerald Moody, kick out fresh episodes of the I Am Rapaport: Stereo Podcast every week, or maybe it’s twice a week. Rap and G, as they call each other, shoot from the hip on a variety of topics. I actually met Michael years ago, when I used to hang out at the Improv in LA, because he did, too – his sister’s step-father was one of the owners. Anyone, he always seemed a decent guy and I like what he has to say on his p’cast. A word of warning if you don’t like profanity — Rap and G speak the language of the streets. Oh, and they also take a certain measure of pride in the fact that they don’t fact-check their spew. SpontaneanationTyson grabbed us a clip from Epi49 of Spontaneanation, the latest podcast from the brain of one of the hardest-working men in podcasting, Paul F. Tompkins. It’s a completely improvised show, with a rotating cast of guest friends and performers. On the episode this clip is from, Paul’s guests are Cameron Esposito, Shulie Cowen, Brandon Johnson, and Chris Tallman. I’m a big fan of Paul F. but then, who isn’t? Potato BureauOne of our upload savvy listeners is Corky Kneivel, he of the Potato Bureau podcast. This week he shot us a scene clipped from their Epi2, featuring Court Hansen as the guy getting his dishes back, Molly Doan as “Darren” (the screw up), Corky's playing Darren’s brother, with Michelle Petro is the security guard who — spoiler alert — gets killed. The way the Potato Bureau "gimmick" works is that the scenes are somehow inspired by each episode's musical guest, which is where the sketch in this clip sprang from…) Loud & ObnoxiousAnother clip that was uploaded directly to us this episode comes from the crew over at Loud & Obnoxious — Korey H., D-Brew, Producer Dave, and Halfpint. First off, how can you NOT listen to a clip featuring someone named Halfpint, right? They’re part of the MenRule Network. Here’s their description of their show that’s up on iTunes: “They are four guys that don't apologize for speaking the truth. Each week they discuss movies, news stories, beer, politics, and sports. They also have their intern, Halfpint, do things that he is very uncomfortable with including karaoke and talking to girls.” Sketch Comedy Podcast ShowTyson clipped us something from a recent epi of the Sketch Comedy Podcast Show, which is about as descriptive a title as you can get in a podcast title. Also maybe a bit misleading, as the description for the show says it’s “Lightly scripted and improvised.” The hosts are Alisha Holland and Stuart Rice and the show booms out of Portland, Oregon. ObsessedThis next clip was ripped from the Tweetsack, having been dropped in there by Sarah Meyer who writes “I really enjoy your podcast reviews and I hope it’s not taking a liberty, but I’d LOVE it if you could take a listen to a comedy podcast I co-produce — 'Obsessed with Joseph Scrimshaw.'" It’s over on the on the Feral Audio network. The title is a little deceptive because it isn’t a show about an obsession with Joseph Scrimshaw — he’s the host and he talks to guests about their obsessions. In this case, the obsession is podcasts and the guest is Dustin Marshall, the founder and maniac behind the Feral Audio network, host to such shows as Harmontown, The Duncan Trussell Family Hour and Obsessed with Joseph Scrimshaw. Also, this is Joseph’s 100th episode of Obsessed, so congratulations!  Russell & MudtoothTyson clipped us off a hunk of the Russell & Mudtooth Show from the Radio Random Network. It features Russell Devlin McLain (or #RDM, as he’s socially mediatroducing himself these days), and Mudtooth. To me, “Mudtooth” is WAY more interesting a name than hashtag-anything, but maybe that's just me. This show drops every Friday and #RDM, who is a musician, tears up the country music scene, music in general, as well as sports, current events, etc., etc. with his pal Mudtooth. In this sample of the show, Mudtooth goes off on a tear about the most recent Oscars. Cave Crew RadioIn case you haven’t figured it out on your own, podcasters are not the only ones who can upload their clips to the show. If you are a LISTENER to a comedy podcast that you enjoy, you are cordially welcome to upload a clip, too! That’s exactly what Stuart Ramsden did recently when he uploaded us a chunk of Cave Crew Radio, which is great. Because who knows how long it have taken us to discover the hosts, DK and Big B on our own? And the show has been going for a tad over a year. (So way to take the inish, Stuart!) In this clip the talk is about Valentines and giving stuff up for Lent. Local Ass BitchesOur friend Davian Dent — host of the soon-to-be-defunct The Bitter Sound podcast and co-host of The Strange Times podcast — has sent in a promo of a show he enjoys: Local Ass Bitches, a comedy podcast I’d not heard before. Davian must really like the show, because he knows I’m not a fan of playing promos. He uploaded it directly to us via out Hightail link and he says, “Four best friends from Chicago talk politics, sex, dating and everything in between!  Born, raised and living on the NW Side – Lisa, Manny, Nora and Rosa are the epitome of Local Ass Bitches, a term coined by one of their comedic favorites, Kevin Hart, which now has its own definition in the urban dictionary. They also win the Davian Dent Award for being the sexiest mofo's in podcasting...” That’s it, friend. The Succotash tank is empty for another week or so. You can help us to keep the show going by clicking on the Donate button at our http://SuccotashShow.com homesite. Or else go there and click on the Amazon banner at the top of the page And visit the Succotashery, also accessible though the website, where you can get some garments or other gewgaws festooned with the snappy Succotash logo. Even if you can’t afford to give us any of your hard-earned money, the least you could do it to tell your friends about our show. And, in exchange, I give you a hearty thanks for passing the Succotash! — Marc Hershon
