In Ethan's own words, Psalm 143 is like a huggable prayer. It offers us insight into the relationship that God had with King David, a man after His own heart. We see that David changed his perspective whilst going through a tough time of life. He was in hiding due to his own son's rebellion and betrayal, but it was his knowledge of God and his remembering what God had done for him, that got him through. Hugs aren't just for happy occasions, and like Psalm 143, we see David being raw and real with God. This vulnerability allows David to embrace God. Notice that David uses the term 'Lord' to reference God. Like David, we are encouraged to ask Jesus to be our own personal Lord and Saviour. [00:36:23] Heather talks about their plans to have a range of different toys and products to cater to various needs in the market. [00:39:00] Andrew explains how their design provides a comforting, emotional experience beyond just sexual pleasure, leading to a deeper understanding of pleasure-based sexuality. [00:43:41] They discuss other companies in the market working on sex toys for disabled individuals, such as Hot Octopus [00:45:11] Andrew shares the importance of communication, consent, and sense education for disabled individuals, especially when dealing with doctors, medical professionals, and caregivers. Mikey Goldman is part of the over-prescribed generation directly impacted by the ease at which serious drugs were “handed” out to kids and teens before natural alternatives were even discussed. He grew up with a racing mind, always struggling in school to focus and sit still. Formally diagnosed with severe ADHD and math dyslexia (dyscalculia) in highschool, he was later prescribed Vyvanse in college which led to severe side effects that resulted in a snowballing of prescription drug use including daily prescriptions from his doctor of Vyvanse, Adderall, Klonopin, Ambien, and Xanax.Through a brutal withdrawal period, Mikey eventually got off all prescriptions, and sought to find a natural solution for his ADHD + racing mind. After experimenting with dozens (if not hundreds) of wellness products, experiences, and drug alternatives, Mikey was mesmerized by the benefits of Deep Touch Pressure and weighted technology, but like many people with ADHD, he found weighted blankets uncomfortable. Quiet Mind solves for those areas of discomfort with an alternative in the form of the first-ever Original Weighted Pillow, a convenient and reliable solution for people like me - and it's only the beginning. Prior to launching Quiet Mind, Mikey worked in marketing and social media in the tech industry for companies like GreenPark Sports, Insightly, and Zuora. On the podcast today is Colleen Kelley, Ph.D. University of Arizona. Her goal is to reach educators and kids to get them to try purposeful daydreaming before taking on tests and creative tasks. She makes a great point that letting it come to us is the answer and that pause allows us the time and space to get creative. The practice of using case studies in higher education has been an effective tool for teaching everything from medicine to law. These case studies are based on ‘real life' scenarios and are often framed as a mystery to solve. Dr. Colleen Kelley has embraced the use of case studies in her chemistry courses for the past few decades. She has used these in graduate level courses in medicinal chemistry and most recently in her 100-level course at UArizona. Dr. Kelley's students have found that the case studies enriched their understanding of chemical concepts and connect those concepts to everyday life. This led Dr. Kelley to ask the questions, “Could we use case studies, framed in an age-appropriate manner, to teach a much younger audience?” and “Can early eager learners master chemical concepts from carefully scaffolded chemistry mysteries?” She wanted to find out, so she began creating a series of chemistry mysteries in a comic book format for students ages 8 to 12. Please visit her online - https://kidschemicalsolutions.com/ As always, thank you for listening. I have a special page in my notebook that I treasure: Books I've Hugged. Yes. These are the books that I've loved so much that I did not want to let go of them when I turned the last page…so I didn't. I hugged them instead. Today, I'm sharing three of these huggable middle grade novels. And while they are perfect for the middle grade reader in your life, they are also perfect for the adult reader who needs a bit of a bookish hug, too. Here are the books mentioned: The Benefits of Being an Octopus by Ann Braden The Road to After by Rebekah Lowell How to Find What You're Not Looking For by Veera Hiranandani The Other Half of Happy by Rebecca Balcarcel Here's the blog post I mentioned on what adults should read children's literature, too! And here's an apology, too. Ed Mylett was actually the person who taught me that there are things that are caught, not taught. I read A LOT of personal development and need to be better at not mixing up my quotes. Chelsea's Motorvational Monday. The thought of the day is, "Start organizing with one shelf at a time." Yes, it's not necessarily about organizing your house, but it could be. It could be the garage, it could be something in life, it could be eating healthy, it could be reading more. It could be anything. Sometimes, when we think of things we get so overwhelmed that we choose to do about 20 other things besides maybe what we should or want to do. That just keeps downing us, and downing us. I am reading this book and says to start one shelf at a time. If you do want to clean up your whole house, don't think about your whole house. Don't organize and do fall cleaning. Start with one shelf. You want to start being healthier? Don't think of three weeks' worth of healthy food and three weeks' worth of workouts. Start with the next meal. You want to start reading more, but you're thinking, "Oh, how am I going to read a 350 page book?" Just start by buying a book and reading the first page. It's funny, if you just start with something with that one shelf or that one little momentum, you'll probably do two or three. The next day you'll do two or three more, and then you'll create your own habit of doing that and clearing that up. I've hopefully motivated you today to start with one shelf metaphorically in whatever it is you want to accomplish this week, this month, and the following months. Have a Huggable Day.
Chelsea's Motorvational Mondays. The thought of the day, quote of the day is, "Expectation leads to creation. What are you shining the light on in your dark room or someone else's?" Whatever we shine our light on, that's what's going to become more observant. More thought process to us, what we're thinking about. When you're going throughout your day and throughout your week, whether it's personally or for someone else, what are you shining the light on? Do you always shine the light on that little thing you, maybe, did wrong? But the other 15 hours you're awake, you did billion things right. Did you shine the light on something someone else did wrong? But the other 99 things, they did right. We just got to watch what we're always shining a light on because those expectations do become reality. We're going to find which we're looking for. When you're thinking about this week, let's look to shine that light on the positive of the week. The good that happens in the world, the good that's going on in Fredericton, the good in yourself. Everyone does fantastic things. And there's something in everyone that is fantastic and great. Try to find the good in yourself. You're probably a great person. You work hard, in certain aspects, is try to find that. Shine the light on the positive. I hope going at this week, you can maybe just create a little bit more positivity, more awesomeness by trying to focus on and shining light on those positive things, the good things, the healthy things. I hope we motivate you this week to do that. Have a Huggable Day.

We get deep into this one very early on! James and I connect at the very beginning of this recording as we went through a very similar situation with our parents divorcing when we were in our 20s.James continues on the family route by describing his relationship with his older brother, Jon. They're two years apart. Towards the end of the podcast, we actually circle back to his brother and discuss the business they started together a few years back.Since middle school, James has struggled with his body weight. He was always very active with athletics, but eventually, that wasn't enough to keep the weight off. He knew something had to change. From an early age, he learned to battle his weight with proper exercise and nutrition that led to healthy living in the present. We also briefly touch on how his self confidence was a direct correlation with his weight.Later on, we touch on how he found his passion for sustainability and how that led him to his current business that him and his brother co-found and own.If you're interested in learning more about James's business or want to have a conversation with him about more efficient energy at your house, you can get in touch with him through his website here: http://www.teamsolar.us/ He loves talking about sustainable energy, so don't be shy to reach out! Thanks again, James, so much for taking the time to record this on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. You are an absolute rock star with the world at your finger tips!
This week I have been talking to Jo Lomax, the inspirational founder of Huggable Heroes. Jo and her team produce personalised Huggable Heroes for those suffering from anxiety or separation. Inspired by her own experiences as a wife of a Marine, Jo started the company in 2015 and now helps all sorts of families with her Huggable Heroes. They are for children who are in hospital, for children with separated parents, for those struggling with dementia, and of course for our own Armed Forces Community – because everyone going through deployment does need a hug! This first episode of Series Two is very emotional and I cannot thank Jo enough for being so open and genuine when she shared her story with me. Don't forget to subscribe, write a review, watch the new YouTube Vlog series, and head over to www.theindependentspouse.co.uk to see how it can help your 'magnolia wall life' business.

Since the late 1970’s Jim Gilbert has been earning & growing a reputation as “Canada’s Huggable Car Dealer.” Along with his wife Dawna, Jim has built a family-run business that is a shining example of what it means to never be afraid of standing in your own truth and believing in the magic of possibilities. If you were to visit Jim Gilbert’s Wheels And Deals in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, you’d find a business – and, indeed, a business that sells pre-owned vehicles … used cars – that is a reflection of the values and the enormous hearts of the people who created and nurture it. Sitting on what they call “six acres of fabulous,” Jim Gilbert’s Wheels and Deals is much, much more than a vehicle dealership. It’s a destination. It’s CANADA’s Huggable Car Dealer. Of course, the irony here is that the magic sauce is not in some catchy slogan, marketing gimmick or promotional trick. It’s all in the consistent implementation of ageless principles of kindness, appreciation and integrity. Here are a few of the key things I took from my time with Jim: Working Weekends & Learning From the Customer – Listen for how Jim got his initial opportunities, and what he did to sell more boats than anyone else at the time. Shoot the Gun, Ride the Bullet – Jim’s become a master at “riding the bullet.” He’s learned to trust his intuition, take action, and figure it out as he goes. He Did What Everybody Else Did … Until He Didn’t – How he was “stuck” in the same rut as everyone else until he saw someone different he could model … and eventually surpass. He did this with his personal growth, too (listen for the Zig Ziglar tape story). This can only come from the curiosity of a growth mindset. © 2017 Kevin Bulmer Enterprises

Joe takes you into the week of 2/13/17-2/18/17 in WWE covering Raw, Smackdown Live, 205 Live, NXT & Main Event!
Listen to the sketch on YouTube here!: https://youtu.be/EmRV86iTXQc This week, we go back to the laboratory and try something different with the format of the show, as was suggested by friend of the show Jason Marshall (@jasonmarshall2) who he himself has a great podcast called “We Don’t Have Cookies” (URL) which Stuart has actually had the pleasure of being on (you can listen to that episode here: URL). So we are going to call this the Marshall Initiative and see if you like it better. I think it makes the most interesting parts of the show front and center and am pretty sure it will be a crowd favorite as well. We start off with the conversation between Alisha and Stuart. Stuart gets offensive in the introduction. Alisha went to the coast to a casino for her birthday played the inside and won! But still won’t put any money into the show. Stuart should never play craps because he causes people a lot of pain. Stuart is “huggable” and he wants to cry. Alisha and Stuart agree that Paul Rudd is the ultimate; Alisha talks about her dream Rudd hug and Stuart feels sexually confused. Dane Cook… that’s all. Stuart teases the new format of the show… and look what happened! It’s really funny that we talk about formats and are still trying to figure it out. Alisha was depressed for her birthday and then went to a Bernie Sanders rally and took it upon herself to annoy other people by trying to keep them safe. Stuart went to a massage-a-tois event… listen to get info. Stuart won’t go to a nude beach by himself anymore because he had a REALLY bad experience and now understands why women don’t hang out at pools and beaches by themselves. Alisha reminds Stuart of how lickable his balls are and it reminds Stuart of another flattering story about them. Warning: There is a story about Stuart going to the nude beach and things go awry. We talk scales, like how people would superficially judge other people, and Alisha ranks Stuart above average; Stuart smartly doesn’t even approach this subject. The two play the “essence” game, which is just as pretentious as it sounds like. The sketch: As if it could be possible to become MORE superficial, the brilliant minds behind the Tinder app somehow find a way to get the app even more addictive… regardless of the effects on your soul. When Ben and Zane passed by the pet store, they just couldn't resist the tabby orange cat in the window. Huggable and tame, the beast had just the right amount of gluttony, sloth, and pride, and the Cartonists had thought they found the perfect mascot. They were all ready to purchase, but then it turned out that there was no cat. Ben and Zane had just been talking to no one at all, unaware of their isolation, slowly growing more and more morose. Man, fuckin' mondays.
