A deep investigation of mysterious geometric structures on the surface of Mars• Explores a wide variety of anomalous structures on Mars's surface that display a high degree of geometric and pictographic design• Examines sites such as the Elysium pyramid famously described by Carl Sagan and city complexes in the Nepenthes Mensae and Atlantis Chaos regions• Argues that Mayan creation stories of a Star War and Sumerian myths of the Anunnaki provide ancient evidence for the existence of a Martian cultureExploring evidence of a lost Martian civilization and its contact with Earth, investigator George Haas examines a wide variety of anomalous structures and geoglyphs on Mars's surface that display a high degree of geometric and symbolic design that reveal an ancient bond between Earth and Mars. He takes a closer look at Carl Sagan's famous pyramid of Elysium, including high-resolution images released after Sagan's death. Investigating a pair of city complexes in the Nepenthes Mensae region of the Red Planet, Haas shows how the settlements include geometric formations of a five-sided star and a hexagonal pyramid, along with geoglyphic formations representing a dove, a killer whale, and a bat.Examining the Libya Montes region, he reveals a keyhole-shaped formation identical in design to ancient tombs built in Japan. In the Atlantis Chaos region, he investigates the remains of an ancient city nestled along a dead lake, an urban-like array of gridded broken walls and shattered foundations. He then explores a detailed parrot-shaped geoglyph in the large-impact crater known as Argyre Basin that four veterinarians found to possess 22 points of anatomical correctness with terrestrial parrots.George J. Haas is the founder and premier investigator of the Mars research group known as The Cydonia Institute. A member of the Society for Planetary SETI Research, he has coauthored two books and six peer-reviewed science papers related to anomalous formations on the surface of Mars. He has appeared on Coast to Coast AM with George Noory and on the History Channel's Ancient Aliens, The Proof is Out There, and The UnXplained with William Shatner. He lives in Waterford, Virginia.https://thecydoniainstitute.com/Providing an ancient Mesoamerican connection to the civilizations of Mars, Haas looks at a lesser-known Mayan creation story about a Star-War that occurred 800,000 years ago. He reveals parallels between this story and ancient Sumerian stories of the Anunnaki occupation of Earth and Mars as documented by Zecharia Sitchin. Haas also shows how there is a direct correlation between the ruins on Mars and the art and architecture of Mesoamerican cultures, providing clear evidence of a long-disappeared Martian civilization that we are only now rediscovering.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/earth-ancients--2790919/support.
What does your family tree say about you? Maud Newton tackles this question in her new and powerful book, Ancestor Trouble. Through this project, Newton asks probing questions about a number of her ancestors, questioning family myths and stories along the way. Using her talent as a researcher, Newton uncovers the true stories of relatives whose lives were or are complex, fascinating, and at times, troubling. As we go along for the ride, Newton teaches us about genetic genealogy, ancestor worship, and much more. Part memoir, part social commentary, Newton's book is great to sit with as we head into the holidays. Trigger warning: We do reference sexual assault and domestic violence in the course of discussing the content of this book. Original air date: November 23, 2022
Season 4 Episode 2 of the Travels With Randy podcast is here! Lake Gitche Gumee - Ohio - Following Our Ancestors This week picks up exactly a week after last week! Yay, consistency - we did it! Lol. Randy migrated from northern Wisconsin across the upper penninsula of Michigan and down to Kentucky for a few days and is now in Ohio on the road towards Vermont. The fellas have a long conversation about tracing Randys ancestors back to his great great great grandfather and even further back to his ancestry landing in the US for the first time. Rancy's ancestors are scattered throughout middle America from Iowa to Illinois to Ohio to Massachusetts and Randy is on a mission to validate some of his theories about how his ancestors did that. They chat about the great lakes and just how different and massive they are, especially with the Erie Canal added in. Bubba hums parts of the The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald to come up with Gitche Gumee lol. Really, this week is just a good old natter between buddies. Enjoy it! It is not possible to speak Wellness, Well-being and Black women and not talk about African spirituality. Today, my guest and sangoma Nokulinda Mkhize Horwood discusses her profession, her own practice, her observations of changing attitudes towards sangomas over the past 13 year's since her initiation and some of the challenges she still faces in her work. Nokulinda is known as @noksangoma on social media and she's also well-known for her often sold-out talks, Gogo Speaks. Judging by the popularity of these talks, not only is she providing a much needed service, but she is part of the zeitgeist of the de-colonial movement of young South Africans. Her presence and visibility are both liberating and deeply necessary for her peers. Our discussion covers everything, from the role of family in spiritual well-being, alienation and anxiety in the city, capitalism-induced spiritual crises in South African urbanites, Covid-19, Nokulinda's own well-being and how it's changed her approach to life in general and her practice as a sangoma. It might all sound serious, but it's a fun conversation and we do get super silly at the end of the conversation. You will love it! You can find Nokulinda's book, Ancestory here.GLOSSARY OF TERMSIndumba - A sangoma's healing room, traditionally a hut. It is nonetheless a sacred space. Amatwasa - Initiates training to become sangomas Ukufemba - a healing process designed to trap and remove negative energies and/or evil spirits uMgidi - celebratory ceremonyAmasiko - cultural ustomsUbuntu - I am because we are Ubungoma - a spiritual calling

This information can be used to find family, discover your heritage, and much more. Most companies in the industry have big central databases. This presents many security and privacy issues. We all have a family tree. We all have people who have gone before us who have impacted our lives - some good and others not so much. We can't control what has been passed down to us, but we can control what we pass on to others. God uses imperfect people to accomplish His perfect plan. If you are in Jesus, then you are a new creation. You are not defined by your past, but by the One who loves you. Focus on Jesus this CHRISTmas season. Find your worth and value in Him, and then pass Him down to the next generation. It's all about Jesus!

RICH CELENZA talks about how the younger generation may not know all the sacrifices their previous family members may have made for them. A lot of younger people may not realize all the struggles and set back our ancestors went through to give their family members a better life. Sometimes we just need to sit back and appreciate all we have and have been given. Instead of us sitting around and bitching about all the things we don't have or haven't been given.

If you've ever been on Ancestory.com, you know how easy it is to start poking around, discovering this, attaching that, and before you know it, most of the day has blown by. A DNA test can also be a real eye-opener. Turns out I'm not as white as I thought I was. It's all fun, informative, and can be an important part of the legacy we'll eventually leave behind to our family members. My ancestry includes heroes, explorers, warriors, and more than a few scoundrels. In Episode 15, I'll talk about DNA, famous relatives and neighbors, and attempt to recreate a speech from one of my family's heroes, Patrick Henry. It seems fitting for my country's upcoming Independence Day this July 4th. Time will tell which category I'll fall into when my ancestors are digging into their family history decades from now. Legacy - it's a work in progress. Download.

Have you ever wondered if your kids like their information and pictures posted online? Today we have psychologist Elaine Kasket on the show to talk about sharenting and online privacy and how she learned the hard way that her daughter didn't want her life documented online! We live in a unprecedented time in technology and we have to make decisions that our parents didn't have to even think about. If you grew up in the 80's and 90's we didn't have little computers in our pockets that we now call cell phones, we barely even had flip phones. There was no Facebook, Instagram, Blogs, YouTube to post our information to. When our parents wanted to share pictures they would have to carry them around in their wallet, or mail our school photo or baby photo to our family members and friends. Elaine shares with us that our kids lives are being shared online before they are even born by posting sonogram pictures. Elaine tells us about her journey being online and how much she was sharing about her daughter from the photos to the funny things she would say. She found herself excited when people would give her positive feedback on a certain post, which then made her want to keep posting. I thought it was interesting when Elaine mentioned that she had to start questioning why she wanted to post stuff, was she feeling lonely and wanted to connect, was she simply bored, she talks about being intentional when it comes to the reasons to why you want to post information or pictures. She also mentioned that once you post stuff online it is very difficult to get it off. One topic that really stood out to me that I didn't even think about are companies like 23 and Me and Ancestory.com not only are you sharing your information, now your family line has been shared! She talks about how that could cause issues that people may not even think about. Hear what she says about this topic and more on the podcast. And the Moment of Um answers an age-old stumper: how are alligators and crocodiles different? Want to hear more about bees? Being a woman of colour in a predominantly white society brings with it a complex set of rules and expectations that are often not spoken about. Panelist will discuss A Mind to Stay - White Plantations - Black Homeland. This story researched and written by Sydney Nathans begins in 1844, when North Carolina planter Paul Cameron bought 1,600 acres near Greensboro, Alabama and sent out 114 enslaved people to cultivate cotton and enlarge his fortune. Syd Nathans is a historian and author of "A Mind to Stay," which tells the story of a white plantation that became a black homeland to formerly enslaved people. Based on decades of oral interviews with descendants, the book illuminates how African Americans got land and why successive generations fought to hold it for 150 years. Angela Peay is a Stagville descendant. Angela’s genealogy quest has traced her direct maternal ancestry to Durham, North Carolina’s State Historic Stagville Plantation Site. Her maternal great grandmother was born in 1863 which was right at the cusp of slavery’s end. She is pending lineage results from Ancestory.com. She currently works in the Pharma/Biotech field. Michael Williams is an eight generation Stagville Descendant. Since Michael’s 1996 Adoption Search & Reunion journey he has traced his direct maternal ancestry to Durham, North Carolina’s State Historic Stagville Plantation Site. Michael currently works in Healthcare and he is a genetic genealogy coach and presenter with Sankofa Genealogy Tech Seminars. Theresa Williams-Stoudamire is a retired healthcare administrator. Her undergraduate degree is in history. Upon retirement, she decided to explore her family roots. All four of her familial lines relocated to NYC during the Great Migration from the South. Her paternal lines both hailed from North Carolina. As she delved into her Durham family's past she discovered that her great grandparents were enslaved on Stagville plantation.

IN THE LAST 20 years, genealogy websites have attracted more than 15 million customers by promising insights into your past. It’s deeply personal, affecting stuff. But when your family tree contains thousands, millions, even tens of millions of people, it’s no longer a personal history. It’s human history. Recently, scientists from the New York Genome Center, Columbia, MIT, and Harvard scraped crowdsourced public records into family trees the size of small nations. Their analysis, which was published today in Science, includes the single largest known family tree, containing 13 million people. Your cousins Jeff and Anthony discuss this story. Listen to the sketch on YouTube here!: https://youtu.be/RGJQnvKXOVM This is one of my favorite all-time sketches that Alisha and I did, I think it is fantastic and really just well executed. Sometimes some of my favorite humor is when a character gets into a really uncomfortable or awkward situation and sees his or her way through it, this is not one of those cases. Also, the punchline on this sketch was perfect. So we have finished migrating the podcast over to the new service, iTunes has been updated and now you can actually see our delightful artwork in Apple Podcasts and hopefully everywhere! That has been a thing I have wanted so badly for so long! Also, I want to really quickly read a review from someone and urge you to jump onto whatever service you are using and give us a quick 5-star review. If you do, I will absolutely read one at the beginning of every episode! I would really appreciate this, I would like to get at least 100 reviews by the end of summer, so I need one a day… you could be the one! Also, do you happen to have an amazon echo? If you do that’s great! You can actually just ask Alexa to play “Sketch Comedy Podcast Show and she will totally do it! And now onto Alisha and my discussion about spider gender and feces… totally classy! We also record a sketch about our deepest, darkest fears…. Muahahahahaha-ahem… enjoy this week’s show. And don’t forget to stick around after the show to hear us improvise the actual sketch! Zootopia is a remake of a classic sci-fi movie. Stuart gets attacked by a spider and then Alisha and Stuart try to figure out the spider’s gender. This episode was out of the space-time continuum, and should have been released before last week’s episode but go check that one out too because Dr. Kiki! Alisha did something called Questival which is a 24-hour scavenging hunt; Alisha learns how to become a true a**hole about it. Alisha officiated a wedding and did not sleep for 39 hours so she could legally kill someone; Stuart ruined said wedding and would have been a good victim. Summertime is terrible because kids require things. The sketch is fantastic. Pooping is never an option while sexy time, but sometimes it might be better than trying to race home. A smorgasbord of feces ensued. Forks should never be the tool one uses for plumbing. Alisha and Stuart decide the best upgrade for any toilet is a blender. The sketch this week taps into our deepest, darkest fears… you know, like an unreplied-to text. Extreme Genes - America's Family History and Genealogy Radio Show & Podcast
Fisher and David Allen Lambert, Chief Genealogist of the New England Historic Genealogical Society and AmericanAncestors.org, open the show. They anticipate reviewing Roots Tech, the largest family history conference in the world, that is taking place over the weekend in Salt Lake City, Utah. David then talks about a remarkable discovery of remains under a bus station in Harlem, New York! Just whose remains have been discovered and what is their history in New York? David will tell you. David then talks about another discovery in Yorkshire, England involving Roman gladiators. He’ll share the incredible numbers and what has been learned from these recently found remains. Black History Month is in full swing, too, and David shares a special database related to African-American ancestral information from NEHGS. Fisher then fills in David on a unique app he found that allows any face to be placed over yours in photos or videos. You can even put your ancestor’s face over yours and then tell that person’s story! Hear what that app is. David also shares news about an exciting new audio app coming from MyHeritage.com. Fisher then visits, for two segments, with Nancy Douglas, a handwriting analyst with WriteMeaning.com. Nancy explains the various regions of handwriting and what they mean in learning about someone’s personality, and how she got started in this field. In the second segment, Nancy then reveals information on several of Fisher’s ancestors based solely on their handwriting samples. In this week's episode, Gretchen and Tabitha talk about a crime that is as unconscionable as it is frightening. This crime is the epitome of invasion of privacy and destruction of lives.
