Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The Idiots have a great talk with film critic Scott Phillips. Ted realizes he's secretly in love with Angela Basset. The guys are hoping Kid Rock and Lauren Bobert have twins. One to rule the world, the other to destroy it.
Of course with the high amount of stress presented at HQ, we understand what it like to be down in a funk. Unfortunately, that's not enough to convince HR to give paid vacations. [School of Movies 2024] It's always a risk, setting a sci-fi dystopian movie only a few years from filming. You're going to make predictions about how the world might look and operate, with new technology or sociological and political upheaval within a time period so immediate that it's the difference between the launch of the Sony PlayStation and the PlayStation 2 But we are currently living in a dystopia increasingly left to the devices of the dumbest of AI, and many of us are wondering "How the hell did all this happen between the PS4 and PS5?". Plus, the writer/producer of this one warned us about Skynet before. James Cameron here teams up with director (and occasional wife) Katherine Bigelow to deliver a grimy neo-noir that failed abysmally at the box office when everyone wanted Batman Forever. A disregarded cult favourite with a mysterious and twisted psychopath murdering people in truly stomach-churning ways, the same year Se7en was a massive smash hit. The tech is effectively Virtual Reality, only it's recorded, first-person real life experiences that go way beyond mere visual immersion. There are riots on the streets of Los Angeles as a terrifyingly militarised police force close in, and as the clock ticks towards midnight on New Year's Eve in the far-flung year of 1999 a young and twitchy Ralph Feinnes and a statuesque goddess, his long-suffering protector played by Angela Basset find themselves caught up in a dangerous world. This show was commissioned by Greg Downing, and we had a blast delving into it.

For the second year in a row, Angela Bassett did the thing. This time with Regina King. This week, we circle back to Katt Williams' interview and the fallout from Claudine Gay's resignation from Harvard and the emerging anti-DEI culture war. In politics, trans youth in Louisiana are suing the state over their ban on gender-affirming care. In Am I A Bad Queer, we talk friends with benefits vs. dating apps (and the limitations of vibrators) and if having an LGBTQ+ family member you respect prevents you from being homo/transphobic. Are lesbians who intentionally try to "turn" straight women a service to the community or problematic? Is Lil Nas X the most disrespected young superstar of all time? We answer in Bad Queer opinions. Well, it's Oscar season…again. The Academy is trying really hard to get people interested this year by nominating some huge box office successes, but do popcorn flicks & comedies really have a chance of winning? We're going to speculate on that while making predictions for each of the 23 award categories on this episode of Baconsale. And with Golden Corral on the line for the winner of these golden statue forecasts, the stakes have never been higher. Zack plays the odds again, Joel tries to keep us sad (and not mad), Kent has fun with puns, and Angela Basset does the thing. Will Elvis be king of the 95th Academy Awards? Will The Banshees of Inisherin make a lot of noise? Will it be All Quiet on the Western Front for epic war remakes? Will Everything Everywhere All At Once take it all? Press play to roll out the red carpet to your ears and find out. And visit Baconsale.com to fill out our official ballot for the 2023 Oscars for your chance to win one of two prize options.
