Before being appointed by Governor Kim Reynolds in December of 2024, she represented Clinton, Jackson, and Scott counties in the Iowa State Senate. First elected in 2018, she chaired the inaugural Technology Committee, from which she wrote and managed the legislation making Iowa the sixth state in the nation to protect consumer data legally. She was also Chair of the Education Budget Committee and Vice Chair of the State Government Committee. She sat on the Education, Natural Resources and Environment, Transportation, and Ways and Means committees. We will discuss her transition from the Senate to the position of lieutenant governor. She also serves on Empower Rural Iowa, the Iowa STEM Council, and the AI Task Force and represents the Governor on the State Fair Board. When asked for advice to share with our listeners, Lt.
