Robert Montgomery, a former Arizona Republican elector, is fighting to have his indictment thrown out. His legal team argues that the Arizona Attorney General’s Office unfairly biased the grand jury by using the phrase “fake electors” over 250 times and failing to properly instruct jurors on key election laws. If the judge agrees, the case could be sent back for a new review. Otherwise, Montgomery and his co-defendants face a long legal battle, with a trial set for 2026. What does this mean for election accountability and future legal strategies? We break it all down. Episode 1022 Courts in Arizona and Florida have both ended abortion rights in very different (but both terrible) ways this month. Did Arizona actually resurrect a 160-year law passed decades before it was even a state? And how weird can it get when you go full originalist on a law that is younger than most people in Florida? Before we get there, Matt opens by sharing his experience with the OJ Simpson trial at the age of 14 and how it shaped his understanding of US criminal law. We then make sure to pay appropriate respects to the violent domestic abuser who (do we even have to say "allegedly" anymore?) brutally murdered Nicole Brown and Ronald Goldman on June 12, 1994. Also, two different countries have committed extreme and unprecedented violations of international law involving embassies in the past week. How does the Vienna Convention protect diplomatic posts, and what actually happens when these international agreements are broken? The first of the Trump trials will finally begin in New York in one business day! How does jury selection even work in a case where everyone on the planet has an opinion about the defendant? 1) Planned Parenthood v Florida (4/1/24) 2) In Re: TW, 551 So. 2d 1186 (1989) 3) Planned Parenthood of AZ v. In a recent series of events, a perceived head of a political faction in Arizona, namely Jeff DeWit, voluntarily vacated his position of Arizona Republican Party chairman this past Wednesday. This drastic step came right after audio contents purporting to capture him in the act of allegedly proposing a monetary deal to Kari Lake, a fellow party member and a U.S. Senate aspirant. Individuals leaning towards the right of the political spectrum in Arizona, Ms. Lake included, had not taken kindly to DeWit's conduct this week. This sentiment was revealed consequent to the audio content's release which was made widely accessible through a publication by the U.K.'s Daily Mail. As per evidences unearthed, the disputed conversation brought to light was reportedly recorded within a month of March the year prior. The concerning material appears to suggest Mr. DeWit extending an unsolicited offer to Ms. Lake. Further, the proposal involved a monetary settlement in exchange for a temporary suspension of Lake's political pursuits and her U.S. Senate campaign specifically, for a duration not less than two years. However, allegations flew high as DeWit held Ms. Lake accountable for the partial and ill-intent release of their supposedly exclusive exchange. He also alleged that this selective information sharing technique led to an unfair portrayal of events and was in fact, detrimental to the core values the Republican Party upheld. He categorically called out this act as being misleading, and condemned it for compromising the confidentiality of party leadership discussions. DeWit further claimed that he was the subject of a well-crafted scheme and suggested he was ill-equipped to engage in a battle with Lake's vast influence. He seemed to believe that the media uproar following the incident was a distraction from the party's core mission. Therefore, in an apparent effort to pacify Ms. Lake's demands and bring calm to the unfolding situation, DeWit declared his resignation from his post as the Arizona Republican party's Chairman. On the other side of the story, Kari Lake is known within party circles as a vocal Republican and narrowly missed her shot at the Arizona governor's position in the 2020 elections. She had openly voiced her expectations regarding DeWit's resignation a day before his actual departure. Another prominent right-leaning individual from Maricopa County, Craig Berland, who notably holds the position of Republican Committee Chairman, stated that if DeWit's purported actions held any truth, he should willingly step aside. The debatable dialogue between DeWit and Lake that emerged to the public sphere seems to have occurred during a face-to-face interaction. As per the recording in question, DeWit purportedly can be heard making an unusual ask he received from the east, which requested a company to place her in their payrolls with a motive to keep her away from the political scene. Lake, quick to respond, interjected to question the true intent of the proposition at hand: her availability for purchase. DeWit skipped a beat to suggest a brief hiatus from her political endeavors, with an assurance of resuming her normal course later. Lake, though, held her ground, stating that this was less a game of money and more a forward march for their country. In the course of that conversation, DeWit seemingly tried to rationalize his proposition for Lake to temporarily distance herself from the political stage for the 2024 run. The strategy put forth hinged mostly on 'the competence to amass campaign funds.' In response to this, she resisted making any compromises with the sort of entities that expected such trade-offs. For her, she implied that this was a struggle worth every sacrifice. DeWit had taken charge of the Arizona Republican Party just recently. His previous political accomplishments were nothing short of commendable: having served in the Trump administration as CFO of NASA, his expertise and dedication were recognized and bolstered by unanimous approval from the U.S. Senate. In addition to holding influential roles in a former presidential administration, DeWit was known to be an active participant in the presidential campaigns of 2016 and 2020. During the high-voltage 2016 campaign, he served as the Chief Operations Officer and Chief Financial Officer for the Trump ensemble. Moreover, he was right at the center of Trump's strategic push for re-election in 2020. He reprised his role as the COO, showcasing his commitment and service to his party. DeWit's political prowess was recognized early on. In 2014, he added another feather to his cap when he won the Arizona State Treasurer's election, lending further weight to his political portfolio. Despite these credentials, the recent events cast a shadow on DeWit's political career. His actions ignited a storm within his political fraternity and ended with an unexpected conclusion: his resignation. This high-profile resignation not only unseated a strong Republican leader, but also showcased the internal dynamics and workings of party politics. What lies ahead in terms of progression, dynamics, and future leadership of the Arizona Republican Party remains to be seen. As for Kari Lake, her steadfastness towards her political goals appears unaltered. The party's future course will undoubtedly take these developments into account, thereby shaping its steps going forward. The website DailyMail.com has publicized an audio recording that suggests a leading figure within the Republican party in Arizona might have attempted to influence Kari Lake, a prominent populist figure, to refrain from participating in the state's Senate race. It seems Jeff DeWit, a 51-year-old veteran and helm of the Arizona Republican faction, can supposedly be heard suggesting an undisclosed price for Lake, a strong supporter of former President Donald Trump, to remain absent from the political arena for two years. He vividly asserts that several influential individuals are keen on her timeout from the public sphere. The male voice in the audio tape, claimed to be DeWit's, engages in a conversation with Lake, a 54-year-old stalwart of Trump's Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement, and someone the rumor mill suggests as a potential vice-presidential candidate in 2024. In the conversation dating back to the onset of March of the previous year, the voice identified as DeWit shares his belief about Trump's potential electoral downfall and suggests it's time for a fresh face to take his place.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Musk got on all fours like a dog and begged, “Please Mr. Trump, sir, please return to Twitter”. Unfortunately for Elon, the only thing Donald covets more than other people's money, is other people's pain. Elon Musk only wanted to Twitter and chill, baby. Oh well, time to check out YouTube. Even as president, Trump wanted websites to offer only entertainment value. A Republican operative accepted Trump campaign money from Russians and pocketed three quarters of it. The only thing Trump could have against that, is that it wasn't him doing it. Middle Eastern governments should have guessed that once they invited Jared Kushner in, the rest of the Trump family would follow. Remember when Supreme Court leaks were a big deal? Now Samuel Alito has been unmasked as leaking anti-abortion decisions as early as 2014. This isn't the second leak. The Supreme Court leaks like dollar store pull-ups. We now enter the Marjorie Taylor Greene era of American governing. Who knows, Marge might give Donald a hand, but really, what's in it for her? Greene might need to think about moving toward the future. An Arizona Republican just elected became an election denier and will deny any job obligations until there's another election. A CBS reporter asked Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake about an attack ad that was made against her accusing her of being responsible for Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick's death. Kari's response to this question will blow you away. Also, Joe Biden's speech on ‘protecting democracy' was absolutely atrocious, but Mike doesn't air a second of it. Why suffer like that? Overall, the Left has become totally unhinged because they know that a red wave is coming next week on November 8th. A NBC historian actually suggested that Republicans want to arrest and kill children. You cannot make this stuff up.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Dear White Women
191: About That Voter Fraud

DEAR WHITE WOMEN  - About that Voter Fraud… If you saw the title and thought “oh, I don't believe voter fraud impacts me” or “oh, I live in an area where we don't hear much about that” - you may be very, very wrong. According to a recent analysis by FiveThirtyEight, 60% of Americans will have an election denier on the ballot. And for those of you who have only heard about election deniers since 2020 - it didn't start with Donald Trump. Hint: it started with our friend who rhymes with Schmeagan. HA! THIS episode is one you'll want to share with your friends & colleagues asap, because you want to make sure you apply the information we're about to share when you're filling out your ballot or heading to the polls next week - we'll tell you just how dangerous and pervasive this trend of alleging voter fraud is, which means *our entire system of democracy is at risk*  And THAT will affect all of us.   What to listen for:  Proof that Trump and his allies deliberately lied - in writing, under oath, to a court, and to the public - about so-called voter fraud numbers, via the Eastman emails.  Current examples of how voter fraud is being used to manipulate people and elections.  Example: Echoing the claims of Trump in 2020, Arizona Republican nominee for governor Kari Lake refused to say that she would accept the results of the upcoming election-- unless she wins.   This widespread, thoroughly debunked claim of voter fraud is a rejection of the whole premise on which this nation was founded: voters have the right to choose their leaders.  In fact, the Declaration of Independence states that governments derive “their just power from the consent of the governed.”  How none of this is new:  the Democrats caught onto the Republican “ballot integrity” initiative in the 1986 presidential election -- estimating that their plans could “eliminate at least 60–80,000 folks from the rolls” in Louisiana, and “could keep the Black vote down considerably” (blatant racism and that's real voter fraud there) – and counterattacked by expanding voting access.   That the Supreme Court's 2013 Shelby County v. Holder decision gutted the provision of the 1965 Voting Rights Act. How domestic terrorism is being used in places like Arizona, Nevada, and others to intimidate voters and election officials - leading to a large number of resignations, with the hopes that election deniers can take their place.   What we can do about it:  VOTE - have a ballot party to discuss issues with friends, meet candidates, and ask questions.  Volunteer to be a poll worker.   If you're an attorney and familiar with election law - please reach out. There are ways that you can get involved with FOIA requests to help the election officials be able to do their job. Share this episode with EVERYBODY so they get out and vote while being informed!

[00:30] The Tale of Two Elections (14 minutes) After three days of counting votes, the Associated Press has finally called the Arizona Republican gubernatorial primary for Kari Lake. In stark contrast, Fox News called Arizona as a Biden win on election night during the 2020 presidential election. In a moment of stunning hypocrisy, Morning Joe hosts said about Lake's election that “our form of American democracy is at risk if we start electing people who deny election results when their side loses”—the show's hosts and many others repeatedly argue that Donald Trump's first election win was illegitimate. [14:05] Dick Cheney Says the Quiet Part Out Loud (8 minutes) Former Vice President Dick Cheney stated in a political ad for his daughter Liz that there has never been a greater threat to the U.S. than Donald Trump, and that “there is nothing more important she will ever do than lead the effort to make sure Donald Trump is never again near the Oval Office.” This, of course, is the primary objective of the January 6 committee. [22:45] U.S. Economy Update (6 minutes) According to Rasmussen Reports, 62 percent of Americans think the U.S. is already in a recession. The Biden White House's economic decisions, budgets and spending plans have been disastrous for everyday Americans—but Pete Buttigieg believes electric cars will solve many of these economic woes. [28:25] Federal Bureau of Fabrication (12 minutes) During a Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing, FBI Director Christopher Wray refused to confirm that the Trump-Russia collusion story was a hoax—or that the Hunter Biden laptop was not Russian disinformation. Also, January 6 prisoner Sean McHugh wrote in a letter to Gateway Pundit saying that Ray Epps encouraged him to go into the Capitol. In his letter, he questioned why Epps has not been prosecuted, even though many of the people he encouraged to go into the Capitol are currently sitting in jail. [40:15] Keep Sin Out (14 minutes) The world today is filled with so much sin. God says our nations “declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not” (Isaiah 1:9). Though we live in the world, we should not be of the world. We must not allow the world's sinful ways to take root in our lives. It will take God's intervention to save our sick society, just like it takes God's intervention to clean up our lives. We must get sin out and keep it out in order to receive the promised reward.

[00:30] Election ‘Day' in Arizona Enters Day Three (7 minutes) Maricopa County is somehow still not finished counting votes from the Arizona Republican primary. What is going on? [7:55] The Investigation Is the Cover-up (12 minutes) The Justice Department has subpoenaed White House Counsel Pat Cipollone as part of its investigation into the January 6 “insurrection” and “efforts to overturn the 2020 election.” In reality, the investigation into the “insurrection” is meant to cover up the real insurrection: the 2020 election steal. [20:20] Salon's Truth Bomb (12 minutes) Left-wing Salon published an article titled “When Whistleblowers Go to Prison, We're on the Road to Tyranny.” The article describes the case of Daniel Hale, who is serving a 45-month sentence in a maximum-security prison for blowing the whistle on Barack Obama's drone strikes. The Obama White House routinely used the Espionage Act to treat whistleblowers like spies. This is why James Risen called the Obama administration “the biggest threat to freedom of the press in a generation.” [32:00] Orwellian Doublespeak (5 minutes) Guy Reffitt, the first January 6 protester to stand trial, has received a seven-year sentence for “threats of violence” and entering restricted grounds—another example of America's lopsidedly biased administration of justice. [37:00] Will Garland's DOJ Prosecute Donald Trump? (9 minutes) Earlier this week, American Spectator noted that the White House would love to arrest and prosecute Donald Trump because he gets in the way of their fundamental transformation of America. If this happens, however, it would tear the country apart. The Bible does prophesy of another civil war in the United States, and we must be spiritually sobered and emotionally prepared for what is coming. [46:25] E-Mail Feedback (9 minutes)
