In aflevering #1: migratie.
Luisteren dus!

Please speak to a healthcare professional if you feel like you would benefit from support with your mental health. ‘Most people just want to feel like they're being heard.'Anyone living with type 1 diabetes can tell you that it's not easy, but how do we transfer that awareness into diabetes care? The research that Maartje De Wit, senior researcher and principal investigator of diabetes and psychology, and her team are doing at the Amsterdam University Medical Center is providing a growing body of important and pioneering evidence that is not only increasing understanding among healthcare teams and people living with T1D, but introducing new models that are making a practical difference to people's lives. In this episode, Maartje discusses the latest findings from her research - including self-guided therapy, the balance between time in range and time in happiness, body image and the idea that ‘every person with type 1 diabetes has a disturbed relationship with food'. She reveals the importance of - and the challenges around - creating space for mental health conversations in routine diabetes consultations, and takes us through what the many emotional challenges of living type 1 diabetes look like on a day-to-day level.Although there is still progress to be made, it's so heartening that these discussions are on the table and this work is being done. This episode is validation for anyone who's ever felt frustrated by their type 1 diabetes, for any reason, or isolated by the emotional challenges that so many people with type 1 diabetes and their carers carry, often unbeknownst to those around them.PEOPLE, PLACES AND THINGS MENTIONED:Connect with Maartje on LinkedInMore about Beating The Blues - Online CBT programmeThe Amsterdam University Medical Center - Maartje's research publicationsThe MyREMEDY Trial - MyDiaMate Self-Guided App for Type 1 Diabetes and Mental HealthMore about the MyREMEDY trial (Dutch)The Diabetes Body ProjectJOIN THE TYPE 1 ON 1 COMMUNITY We've got an Instagram account! Chesterton schreef over vrijwel alles: politiek, maatschappij, religie én kaas. Tolkien (van 'The Lord of the Rings'), C.S.

After more than three decades, it seems Dorna is interested in selling the rights to MotoGP. But who's going to buy? Recent rumors are pointing at Liberty Media, owners of Formula 1. But how serious is Liberty Media about this, and what would the effects be for MotoGP? Is this the end of the grid as we know it, or a change long overdue? The answers involve money, lots of money. And because Peter and Mat are still pretty crap at that, we asked friend of the show and financial expert Dario de Wit to explain it to us. Bill Eigel.“I would have to have 23 votes and get 23 votes, I'll have to get some Democrats to vote for it and then I'll have to give up something big,” O'Laughlin said. “So….everything here is a trade off you know.”Soon after the remarks were reported on social media by The Independent, the door to the Senate Lounge, where O'Laughlin was speaking, opened and a Senate doorman said Eigel wanted to talk to her on the floor. Must be something in the water… sadly, in Iowa it might be poophttps://iowacapitaldispatch.com/2024/01/25/state-issues-several-fines-for-manure-violations/From article: The Iowa Department of Natural Resources recently fined several livestock operations and a manure hauler for infractions that ranged from failing to submit animal waste management plans to a manure spill that resulted from a train collision. The crash happened in June 2023, when an employee of Magnum Custom Hauling, of South English, was transporting up to 6,000 gallons of manure in Marion County.Employee Deal Keasling was operating a tractor that pulled a manure spreader on a gravel road south of Pleasantville when he approached a railway and noticed a train, according to a DNR order.“When he saw the train, he realized he wasn't going to be able to stop, so he basically floored it,” said Janet Gastineau, a senior environmental specialist for the DNR.There is a bend in the road at the railway intersection and wooded areas nearby that might have obscured Keasling's view of the train, which struck the manure spreader. Keasling's certification to handle the manure had expired, the order said.No one was injured, Gastineau said, but an unspecified amount of manure went into nearby Coon Creek. Magnum and Keasling were ordered to pay a $4,975 fine. The DNR also recently fined five livestock operations for failing to submit required plans to manage their manure, which helps ensure the manure is not excessively applied to fields: Missouri medicaid system seems to have been broken from the insidehttps://missouriindependent.com/2024/01/23/perfect-storm-missouri-advocates-decry-medicaid-application-delays-coverage-losses/Hannah Kaplanis applied to Missouri's Medicaid program nearly two months ago, but hasn't received any response from the state.Just shy of 18 weeks pregnant, she's in need of prenatal care and growing increasingly hopeless. Aside from a free ultrasound in November, she hasn't been able to access any care. She called Missouri's Medicaid helpline earlier this month but had to hang up after waiting on hold for 45 minutes, and she is unable to apply for other insurance until she is out of Medicaid limbo. “It feels like I'm doing motherhood wrong already, but it's out of my hands,” she said. “I'm at a loss. It's just a waiting game and that gives me anxiety.”Jim Torres, program manager for health insurance services at Samuel Rodgers Health Center in Kansas City, helped Kaplanis submit her application and has been checking its status. He said that he hasn't seen “any movement on her most recent application that was submitted on Dec. 4.” Kaplanis' struggles are not isolated. Missourians trying to enroll in or retain Medicaid — the government-run health insurance program for low-income Americans — report running headlong into the state's increasingly-strained system. Interviews with advocates, applicants, participants and experts reveal increased pressure on the state's capacity has intensified bureaucratic hurdles to accessing Medicaid, which include lost and missing paperwork, indecipherable state notices and marathon call center wait times.“I've been doing this with my organization for 10 years now,” said Saralyn Erwin, a marketplace and Medicaid coordinator at Northeast Missouri Health Council who assists with applications and renewals, “and this is the worst that I have seen it.” GOP Chair in Arizona Resigns After Evidence of bribe to Kari Lakehttps://www.nytimes.com/2024/01/24/us/politics/kari-lake-arizona-gop.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share&referringSource=articleShareThe chairman of Arizona's Republican Party resigned abruptly on Wednesday, a day after the publication of a 10-minute recording of a conversation between himself and Kari Lake, a former nominee for governor, in which he appeared to offer a bribe to persuade Ms. Lake to drop her 2024 Senate campaign. In the recording, which was published by The Daily Mail, Jeff DeWit, the chairman, tells Ms. Lake that there are “very powerful people that want to keep you out” of the race, and suggests he is passing on a message from them. He says he had been told to ask her: “Is there any companies out there or something that could just put her on the payroll and give her — to keep her out?”Later in the conversation, which Mr. DeWit repeatedly urges Ms. Lake not to repeat to anyone, he starts to ask, “Is there a number at which — ” before Ms. Lake interrupts, saying “I can be bought?” He replies, “Not be bought,” but instead wait a few years before running.Ms. Lake brushed off the attempts, repeatedly telling Mr. DeWit that she was offended by the approach. “That's immoral — I couldn't look at myself in the mirror,” she says, according to the recording. The Colorado House GOP has a new leader… wonder why?https://coloradonewsline.com/briefs/house-republicans-rose-pugliese-minority-leader/Colorado House Republicans chose state Rep. Sue Cahill, D-Marshalltown, stood and led the room in singing the “The Star-Spangled Banner” during her closing comments.Cahill said she sang because “our Capitol is the perfect place to show patriotism,” but requiring the singing of the national anthem in school classrooms each day is not the best path forward as it would be “mandating patriotism for students.”“I think that's something students choose and it's something that they learn and they'll learn it in other ways,” Cahill said.House Study Bill 587 would require students and teachers at Iowa public schools to sing at least one verse of the national anthem every day, in addition to singing all four verses of the song on “patriotic occasions” as well as at school functions or school-sponsored activities as determined by the district. Students and teachers would not be required to sing along, but would be required to stand at attention, remain silent and remove non-religious head coverings as the anthem is being sung.Private schools would be exempt from this requirement.Allred Alright For Texas? https://theheartlandcollective.com/2024/01/24/analysis-colin-allreds-chances-of-unseating-ted-cruz/Can Allred win? The state Republican Party is looking for a new chair after Jeff DeWit resigned because of a leaked recording of a conversation with Kari Lake. Our Friday NewsCap panelists analyze that and the rest of the week's top stories. Plus, a Valley musical ensemble tackles music from Wes Anderson films. That and more on The Show.
Lorna Romero Ferguson of Elevate Strategies and and Democratic strategist Tony Cani joined This Show to talk about Jeff DeWit resigning as chair of the Arizona Republican Party amid charges of bribery, a new state effort to deal with immigration and more.
The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (01/25/2024): 3:05pm- On Tuesday, New Hampshire held its Republican presidential primary with Donald Trump ultimately defeating Nikki Haley 54% to 43%. Meanwhile, despite not being sanctioned by the Democratic National Committee and consequently awarding no delegates, President Joe Biden defeated Rep. Dean Phillips 64% to 20%. Biden did not appear on the ballot—citing New Hampshire's prevention of South Carolina from becoming the party's first primary state—though his supporters did organize an extensive write-in campaign. According to CNN exit polling, 70% of the New Hampshire voters that cast their primary ballots for Haley in Tuesday's Republican presidential primary were not registered as Republicans—instead they were “undeclared” registrants. As the primary moves towards more conservative states, like South Carolina, will her support with independent-minded and moderate voters be enough to keep her campaign competitive? 3:10pm- Peter Navarro, former Director of the Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy, has been sentenced to 4 months in jail for defying a Congressional subpoena. Could Hunter Biden face a similar fate if he doesn't cooperate with his own Congressional subpoena? 3:15pm- Earlier this week, in a 5 to 4 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court determined that the Biden Administration has the authority to remove concertina wire erected by Texas officials along the U.S. Southern border—designed to prevent the unlawful border crossings that continue to plague the state. According to reports, Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) has continued to place “razor wire” along the border—arguing that the Supreme Court may have authorized the federal government to remove the wiring, but he remains legally permitted to use the wire when he deems it necessary. 3:20pm- On Wednesday night, United Auto Workers (UAW) President Shawn Fain announced that the union would be endorsing President Joe Biden for reelection during a conference in Washington D.C. During his speech, Fain referred to presumed Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump as a “scab” explaining: “If Donald Trump ever worked in an auto plant, he wouldn't be a UAW member. He'd be a company man trying to squeeze the American worker. Donald Trump stands against everything we stand for as a union, as a society.” 3:40pm- In a New York Times editorial, Clark D. Cunningham—a law professor at Georgia State University—explains the legal consequences for the alleged improper relationship between lead prosecutor in the Donald Trump Georgia election interference criminal case, Nathan Wade, and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. Cunningham writes: “Mr. Wade was very involved in both the special grand jury investigation and the current criminal case, despite an absence of obvious qualifications. Although Ms. Willis has defended her decision to hire Mr. Wade, his previous experience as a prosecutor appears to have been largely limited to misdemeanors. The amount paid to Mr. Wade so far is substantial yet Mr. Wade's billing invoices obtained by Mr. Roman's lawyer are not well documented and don't always offer, for example, itemized time worked in increments of less than one day. If Ms. Willis and Mr. Wade are dismissed by Judge McAfee, it will be up to a state agency, the Prosecuting Attorneys' Council of Georgia, to appoint a prosecutor to take over from Ms. Willis. And that's where things could really go off the rails. Take one precedent: On July 25, 2022, Ms. Willis was disqualified from prosecuting Burt Jones, who was then a state senator, after she hosted a fund-raiser for Mr. Jones's eventual opponent in the race for lieutenant governor. Eighteen months later, the PACGA still hasn't appointed a special prosecutor, and Mr. Jones, now lieutenant governor, has not even been indicted. Delay is not even the worst possible outcome for the case if Ms. Willis is disqualified. A special prosecutor could decide to reduce or dismiss charges against some or all of the defendants, including Mr. Trump.” You can read the full editorial here: https://www.nytimes.com/2024/01/24/opinion/fani-willis-trump-georgia.html 4:05pm- Despite endorsing Joe Biden over Donald Trump for president less than one day earlier, United Auto Workers (UAW) President Shawn Fain told Fox News that a “great majority” of his union members “will not vote for President Biden”—opting instead to vote with their “pay checks.” 4:10pm- On Wednesday night, United Auto Workers (UAW) President Shawn Fain announced that the union would be endorsing President Joe Biden for reelection during a conference in Washington D.C. During his speech, Fain referred to presumed Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump as a “scab” explaining: “If Donald Trump ever worked in an auto plant, he wouldn't be a UAW member. He'd be a company man trying to squeeze the American worker. Donald Trump stands against everything we stand for as a union, as a society.” Meanwhile, Biden bragged to the crowd about how he has made buying America and building America a priority of his administration. However, Adam Cancryn of Politico writes: “In swing states and factory towns, Biden is making a resurgence in domestic manufacturing central to his reelection pitch. He's highlighting a surge of investments across the nation as evidence that an economic agenda centered on reviving the country's industrial core is just starting to pay off. But 10 months out from the election, those new factory projects remain in their early stages—and have yet to generate an anticipated wave of manufacturing jobs. And after a pandemic-era rebound, industry hiring overall has turned stagnant: Manufacturers added just 12,000 jobs in 2023 amid an extended business slowdown.” You can read Cancryn's full article here: https://www.politico.com/news/2024/01/19/biden-manufacturing-factory-jobs-00136473 4:20pm- Has your own gross negligence led to a razor wire injury? Abbott, if Texas needs it. 5:05pm- Daniel Turner—Founder & Executive Director of Power the Future—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss new polling data from Power the Future and Public Opinion Strategies which “reveals that President Biden is bleeding Hispanic support in New Mexico, a state he won by 10 points in 2020. The agreement produced arrangements that drew concern from ethics experts…In total, there have been 10 buyers of the art, who have paid a sum of $1.5 million. Under their agreement, the gallerist received 40 percent of the sales while Biden took 60 percent. Three of the buyers have been identified, while the other seven remain anonymous. Howie bets you've never heard THIS rendition of the classic Tom Jones tune! Howie's got some great Brandon cuts as well as the latest on the very frightening call Kari Lake had with Jeff DeWitt (who has no wits).
After audio of his bribery attempt of Kari Lake goes viral, Arizona RNC chief Jeff DeWit plays a familiar liberal hand and pulls out the victim card. Little fish like DeWit being caught swimming in an ocean of filth has the UniParty spooked. Who was behind the bribe? And the gloves are off in Texas as the National Guard and Greg Abbott prepare for war with the Biden Administration. The bad news for Joe? Abbott's got the backing of 25 governors willing to send reinforcements to help. PLUS Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro proves the old adage - "never let a good lie go to waste" - even if it means you have to slander people. Podcast Production: Bob Slone Audio Productions
In a recent series of events, a perceived head of a political faction in Arizona, namely Jeff DeWit, voluntarily vacated his position of Arizona Republican Party chairman this past Wednesday. This drastic step came right after audio contents purporting to capture him in the act of allegedly proposing a monetary deal to Kari Lake, a fellow party member and a U.S. Senate aspirant. Individuals leaning towards the right of the political spectrum in Arizona, Ms. Lake included, had not taken kindly to DeWit's conduct this week. This sentiment was revealed consequent to the audio content's release which was made widely accessible through a publication by the U.K.'s Daily Mail. As per evidences unearthed, the disputed conversation brought to light was reportedly recorded within a month of March the year prior. The concerning material appears to suggest Mr. DeWit extending an unsolicited offer to Ms. Lake. Further, the proposal involved a monetary settlement in exchange for a temporary suspension of Lake's political pursuits and her U.S. Senate campaign specifically, for a duration not less than two years. However, allegations flew high as DeWit held Ms. Lake accountable for the partial and ill-intent release of their supposedly exclusive exchange. He also alleged that this selective information sharing technique led to an unfair portrayal of events and was in fact, detrimental to the core values the Republican Party upheld. He categorically called out this act as being misleading, and condemned it for compromising the confidentiality of party leadership discussions. DeWit further claimed that he was the subject of a well-crafted scheme and suggested he was ill-equipped to engage in a battle with Lake's vast influence. He seemed to believe that the media uproar following the incident was a distraction from the party's core mission. Therefore, in an apparent effort to pacify Ms. Lake's demands and bring calm to the unfolding situation, DeWit declared his resignation from his post as the Arizona Republican party's Chairman. On the other side of the story, Kari Lake is known within party circles as a vocal Republican and narrowly missed her shot at the Arizona governor's position in the 2020 elections. She had openly voiced her expectations regarding DeWit's resignation a day before his actual departure. Another prominent right-leaning individual from Maricopa County, Craig Berland, who notably holds the position of Republican Committee Chairman, stated that if DeWit's purported actions held any truth, he should willingly step aside. The debatable dialogue between DeWit and Lake that emerged to the public sphere seems to have occurred during a face-to-face interaction. As per the recording in question, DeWit purportedly can be heard making an unusual ask he received from the east, which requested a company to place her in their payrolls with a motive to keep her away from the political scene. Lake, quick to respond, interjected to question the true intent of the proposition at hand: her availability for purchase. DeWit skipped a beat to suggest a brief hiatus from her political endeavors, with an assurance of resuming her normal course later. Lake, though, held her ground, stating that this was less a game of money and more a forward march for their country. In the course of that conversation, DeWit seemingly tried to rationalize his proposition for Lake to temporarily distance herself from the political stage for the 2024 run. The strategy put forth hinged mostly on 'the competence to amass campaign funds.' In response to this, she resisted making any compromises with the sort of entities that expected such trade-offs. For her, she implied that this was a struggle worth every sacrifice. DeWit had taken charge of the Arizona Republican Party just recently. His previous political accomplishments were nothing short of commendable: having served in the Trump administration as CFO of NASA, his expertise and dedication were recognized and bolstered by unanimous approval from the U.S. Senate. In addition to holding influential roles in a former presidential administration, DeWit was known to be an active participant in the presidential campaigns of 2016 and 2020. During the high-voltage 2016 campaign, he served as the Chief Operations Officer and Chief Financial Officer for the Trump ensemble. Moreover, he was right at the center of Trump's strategic push for re-election in 2020. He reprised his role as the COO, showcasing his commitment and service to his party. DeWit's political prowess was recognized early on. In 2014, he added another feather to his cap when he won the Arizona State Treasurer's election, lending further weight to his political portfolio. Despite these credentials, the recent events cast a shadow on DeWit's political career. His actions ignited a storm within his political fraternity and ended with an unexpected conclusion: his resignation. This high-profile resignation not only unseated a strong Republican leader, but also showcased the internal dynamics and workings of party politics. What lies ahead in terms of progression, dynamics, and future leadership of the Arizona Republican Party remains to be seen. As for Kari Lake, her steadfastness towards her political goals appears unaltered. The party's future course will undoubtedly take these developments into account, thereby shaping its steps going forward. [00:30] Nikki Haley Gives Another Victory Speech After Losing (36 minutes) There were two victory speeches after both the Republican Iowa caucus and the New Hampshire primary: one from the real winner, Donald Trump, and one from the loser, Nikki Haley. A CNN exit poll indicated that most of those who voted for Haley in New Hampshire were probably Democrats who registered as “undeclared.” Rupert Murdoch and the “never Trump” billionaires still back Haley, but they can't slow down the MAGA movement—though the mainstream media insists that the New Hampshire win was “a very bad night for Trump.” [36:00] Republicans Tried to Bribe Kari Lake (19 minutes) Yesterday, the Daily Mail published a hot mic recording of Kari Lake rejecting a bribe from Jeff DeWit, chair of the Arizona Republican Party. The Republican fat cats sent DeWit to convince her not to run in the Arizona Senate race. Meanwhile, the New York Post indicated this week that Michelle Obama is likely working on her White House bid for 2024.

Failure of the party to acknowledge the bribe in a timely manner will continue to erode confidence in a party already void of leadership or a strategic plan...
The website DailyMail.com has publicized an audio recording that suggests a leading figure within the Republican party in Arizona might have attempted to influence Kari Lake, a prominent populist figure, to refrain from participating in the state's Senate race. It seems Jeff DeWit, a 51-year-old veteran and helm of the Arizona Republican faction, can supposedly be heard suggesting an undisclosed price for Lake, a strong supporter of former President Donald Trump, to remain absent from the political arena for two years. He vividly asserts that several influential individuals are keen on her timeout from the public sphere. The male voice in the audio tape, claimed to be DeWit's, engages in a conversation with Lake, a 54-year-old stalwart of Trump's Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement, and someone the rumor mill suggests as a potential vice-presidential candidate in 2024. In the conversation dating back to the onset of March of the previous year, the voice identified as DeWit shares his belief about Trump's potential electoral downfall and suggests it's time for a fresh face to take his place.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Steven Jack Butala: Today we are talking about two new Land Academy members who are completely set up for sex. Success. Set up for success. Jill K DeWit: Wow. Steven Jack Butala: Set up for success according to Jill and I. Jill K DeWit: I like the first one. Steven Jack Butala: I have a lot to say about that. And our second topic a little bit later in the episode is called Moving Through the 10 Step Process of Successful Land Flipping. Jill K DeWit: It's funny, I was watching somebody's show the other day, it was a YouTube thing, and I could see where they cut different things and they edited their stuff. We clearly do not cut and edit out bloopers. We go. The only cuts that you hear or see are when our team inserts a video, like when we do the- Steven Jack Butala: Something that's actually helpful- Jill K DeWit: Exactly. Steven Jack Butala: ... is added. Not cut, Jill K DeWit: But you know what I'm trying to Steven Jack Butala: Say. Jill K DeWit: My point is it's clear that we are not that professional and we don't do that. We sit down and we go, we don't even have take one, take two, take three. It's kind of, turn on the camera. This is it. You better be good. Steven Jack Butala: Why, Jill? Why are we not so professional? Jill K DeWit: Why are we not so professional? Steven Jack Butala: Because we're here to buy and sell land. Jill K DeWit: That's true. Steven Jack Butala: We're here to get rich. And create wealth for ourselves. Jill K DeWit: To have a TV entertainment show- Steven Jack Butala: We're not here to have a fully produced Thursday night sitcom/... I'm seeing more- Jill K DeWit: That would fun. Steven Jack Butala: ... and more and more I'm seeing on YouTube people being rewarded for fully produced, full-blown entertainment. And so if you're here to be entertained, if you're here to get wealthy- Jill K DeWit: This might not be for you. Steven Jack Butala: That's actually what this episode's about. If you're here to learn how to buy and sell land, or more importantly buy and sell land on top of an already successful career you have, you don't care about production value at all. Jill K DeWit: Yeah, it's true. Steven Jack Butala: You just care about our banter and- Jill K DeWit: Getting the answers. Steven Jack Butala: Yeah, getting the answers. Jill K DeWit: I understand. Steven Jack Butala: Each week on the show, we answer questions from our Land Academy member Discord forum. We review land acquisitions from our weekly member webinars and we take a deep dive into two land related topics by popular request. If you have or actually want a sneak peek of our Discord forum, go to landacademy.com, it's free. Jill K DeWit: Cool. Or if you just want to get some more information about how to get involved, be sure and send a note to my team via support@landacademy.com. So here's the question. Josh wrote, "Hi, I am a new member. My name is Josh. I live in Western United States. I've been a realtor for almost 10 years." Steven Jack Butala: Here's an example, because Jill has to edit her own- Jill K DeWit: "I grew up in the timber industry-" Steven Jack Butala: Whoever wrote this, it's me. Jill K DeWit: "I grew up in the timber industry and the rural land development world-" Steven Jack Butala: Development world. Jill K DeWit:
