Lee is back with the second part of his look at the soundtracks and scores of the sex comedy genre, focusing on the more lurid side of things. This time everything has gotten far bigger and far hornier as he moves into the 1980s. Much like with slasher films, and other assorted cinematic junk food, the sex comedy genre exploded in North America during this decade, getting far raunchier and problematic that it had previously been. Because of the exponentially larger amount of music to put on the playlist, Lee put out a poll to the listeners asking them if they wanted this split into two parts or if they wanted a super-sized summer blow-out. Luckily they get along like sand on a hot dog to deliver choice comedic commentary on this move that didn't even TRY to be political commentary. Or anything of any sense at all. A 1960s horror film is not really a horror film but rather a bikini girl flick with a monster on the side. It is definitely a weird one. Is the monster real or is something else happening? Show notes available in the post at https://coyote.works/2021/Beach-Girls.html.
Es ist das Jahr 2010. Und ja... Staffel 5... Mmh... Also, ja. Diese Woche fehlen uns die Emotionen, um auf Staffel 5 von Keeping Up With The Kardashians zu reagieren. Aber das kann auch sehr entertaining sein. Versprochen! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Scream Addicts Podcast: Horror movies | Movie reviews | Horror
This week on Scream Addicts, Jinx and Paul forgo their weekly trip to the Hammer Pub to welcome Scott Foy back to the show! A Scream Addicts veteran at this point, Foy has chosen Jon Hall’s 1965 horror flick The Beach Girls and the Monster for discussion this week. Kicking off with a deep dive into the film’s shallow plot, the trio attack the film’s scant story elements, the dodgy writing and thing characters, and its absolutely bonkers ending. Afterwards, Foy puts forth an interesting theory about the film’s place in slasher film history, back up with a list of tropes from that very subgenre! After the main chat, the guys continue on chatting about such things as long movie runtimes, Lawnmower Man 2, the current state of the theatre industry, and…Freejack?! It’s a super fun chat with a great guest, and it’s one we hope you’ll enjoy! Be sure to subscribe to our show on iTunes, leave feedback, tell your friends about us, and give us a yell on Facebook and Twitter! We are: @Foywonder @PaulisGreat2000 @Jinx1981 @ScreamAddicts

Jim and Teal are back with more tales from the streaming service underground. A few weeks back, they discussed a couple of hidden gems, Buzzard and Los Angeles Overnight, both available to stream on Amazon Prime. At that time, Teal had not seen Los Angeles Overnight, but now he has, and the boys spend some quality time discussing this quirky low-budget Los Angeles Neo-Noir. Also on the program, Jim discusses another early 80s sex comedy, The Beach Girls. Is there a reason no one has ever heard of this Skinamax classic? Wait, what's that? Are Jim and Teal about to get into an argument over the new Joker movie? Let the sparks fly. Finally, get Teal's take on the second season of Mindhunter. It's all going down on this episode

A new voice on the podcast this week to talk about one of Derek's old favorites - 1965's The Beach Girls and the Monster (dir. Jon Hall). Karen Joan Kohoutek is this week's guest, and after she and Derek try their best to contain their gushing about Robert E. Howard, they get down to business and explore the film. Also, even though Halloween 2018 is behind us, Derek and Karen keep the Halloween spirit alive by talking about her novel The Jack-o-Lantern Box. Chris and Mike delve into another Crown International classic. And this one really is a classic. The Beach Girls (1982) is pretty much the perfect guilty pleasure - a movie that features two beach parties and pretty much nothing else. School just got out for the summer and Sarah has invited her two friends Ducky and Ginger to spend the weekend with her at her Uncle Carl's beach house. What ensues is two beach parties for the ages. Mike and Chris uncover some interesting information about the writer of this movie as well as what happened to some of the stars of the film. Crown was really firing on all cylinders with this film.
Lee and Daniel return for part four of a spring-long look at sex comedies from various eras. This time out we go straight into a flat-out softcore sex comedy with "Busty Cops" (2004), and then we return to another Crown International Pictures release in 1982's "The Beach Girls". We also play another round of Movie God and Lee briefly talks about seeing "Avengers: Age of Ultron". End music: "California Girls" by David Lee Roth.
