WHAT ARE THE FREE COMIC BOOK DAY HIGH REPUBLIC STORIES? In ep 143, Mike delves into the 2021 & 2023 Free Comic Book Day High Republic stories surrounding characters from the High Republic Adventures comics from Phase 1, primarily Lula Talisola. The 2021 story takes place just after the Race To Crashpoint Tower book while the 2023 story takes place after all issues of the phase 1 Adventures comics. Mike talks about these stories as well as Ram Jomaram, Zeen Mrala, Qort, Starlight Beacon, The Nihil and more! Both stories were written by Daniel José Older, with Harvey Tolibao as artist. Rebcca Nalty was the colour artist for the 2021 story (Attack On The Republic Fair) and Michelle Madsen was colour artist for the 2023 story (Starlight Coda). FCBD21 was released in May 2021 and is in the trade paperback for volume 1 of The High Republic Adventures comics by IDW Publishing in February 2022, while FCBD23 was released August 2023. Both stories are within the THRA Phase 1 Omnibus, which was released in August 2023.
