The anniversary edition drops January 24 via ABR Records, packed with upgraded production from Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland, and features guest spots from Killswitch Engage's Adam Dutkiewicz and former ABR vocalist Josh McManness. Plus, the bonus track “Pride & Humility” gets a proper reimagining. Known for their tight musicianship, complex structures, and emotionally rich themes, August Burns Red has carved out a space uniquely their own — what Kerrang! once described as "thrillingly empathetic." Whether tearing up stages across the globe with Parkway Drive and Bring Me the Horizon, or dominating headlining tours celebrating albums like Constellations and Leveler, ABR has proven time and time again that they're built to last.

When Jesus opens the sixth seal in Revelation chapter six, John is given a brief glimpse of the end of time. The images John sees are consistent with the images spoken of by many of the Old Testament prophets. In spite of the unraveling of Creation, people from all walks of life foolishly believe they can hide from God's judgement. Anfang Mai erschien mit Path of Vengeance von Cavan Scott der zweite YA-Roman der zweiten Phase der Hohen Republik. Gleichzeitig handelt es sich dabei auch allgemein um den letzten Roman der zweiten Phase, wodurch das mit Path of Deceit begonnene Prequel nun auch im YA-Sektor abgeschlossen wird. Wo also viele Fäden aufgespannt wurden, sollen sie nun wieder zusammengeführt werden. Platz dafür ist bei über 500 Seiten genug, die Frage ist nur, ob das Autor Cavan Scott auch zufriedenstellend gelingt. I interview a friend who is an avid bike rider and cake maker. I realized after the interview, that I'm sticking with bread baking where you don't have to separate eggs, make a lemon curd, then the cakes, then cut them with a cake wire, then add the curd, then make and frost the actual cakes, putting it all together without having a cake slide. Oh, and they say learning to bake bread is hard. But maybe some of you are more adventurous than I and want to try your hand at cake baking. Aileen obtained the recipe from Bon Appetit magazine in 1994, so a vintage recipe that will never go out of style. Lemon Curd-3 cups of strained lemon juice, 2 cups of unsalted butter, 1/4 cup of grated lemon peel stove top medium heat until butter melts. In a separate bowl, whisk together 12 large egg yolks, 8 large eggs, 3 1/2 cups of sugar. Gradually add in hot lemon mixture whisking vigorously until thick and smooth about 5-10 minutes. Do not boil. Chill overnight and can freeze it too. Cake-preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line the bottom of 8 and 9 inch cake pans with 2 inch high sides with waxed paper. 8 cups of sifted cake flour, 4 tsp of baking powder, 3 tsp of baking soda, 2 tsp of salt-combine. Make in a separate container beat 2 cups of unsalted butter at room temperature in mixer gradually adding in 4 cups of sugar, then add in 10 large egg yolks one yolk at a time, beat in 2 Tablespoons of lemon peel, 1 Tablespoon of vanilla extract, then at a low speed, gradually add in the 4 cups of buttermilk. Beat 10 egg whites with 1tsp of cream of tartar until medium peaks form. Fold 1/2 of beaten egg whites into cake batter to lighten it, fold in remaining egg whites. Spoon batter into pans. Bake about 45 minutes. Cool 15 minutes before removing them from the pan. Frosting- 3 cups (24 oz) of cream cheese, at room temperature, 2 cups of unsalted butter at room temperature, 4 cups of powdered sugar, 1/2 cup of whipping cream. In dieser Ausgabe des JediCast dreht sich alles um Lydia Kangs Werk Cataclysm, welches als zweiter Erwachsenenroman der zweiten Phase der Hohen Republik die Geschehnisse aus Convergence und The Battle of Jedha fortsetzt und in Teilen auch abschließt. Bei diesem zugleich auch letzten Erwachsenenroman der zweiten Phase - auf den dann nur noch Path of Vengeance im Romansektor folgen wird - liegt der Fokus auf dem Pulverfass rund um Dalna und dem Path of the Open Hand. Was führt er im Schilde und wie sind die Jedi darin verwickelt? Wird uns all das nachvollziehbar erklärt oder wirkt die Kumulation am Ende zu kurios? Grund genug also, dass sich Ines, Florian und Tobias genauer mit dem Werk beschäftigen und dabei sowohl die Handlung als auch die zahlreichen Figuren dieses Ensemble-Romans genauer besprechen. Sie konstatieren dabei, dass der Roman unter dem Problem leidet, eine Katastrophe erzählen zu wollen, dabei aber die Lesenden im Dunkeln zu lassen, was diese nicht gespannt auf mehr, sondern eher enttäuscht zurücklässt. Zudem erweckt gerade die coverzierende Figur des Axel Greylark keine Freudensprünge, auch wenn eine andere Vertreterin des Familiennamens doch auch Begeisterung bei uns zu wecken vermag! Am Ende habe Cataclysm "definitiv mehr Stärken als die anderen beiden Werke zusammen, doch schlussendlich handelt es sich bei dieser Trilogie lediglich um eine Nebenhandlung, und ich muss mich doch wundern, warum Phase II nicht einfach aus einer Young-Adult-Trilogie bestanden hat". It's time for another spoiler-free book review from the High Republic era! This book is the last of the adult novels for the first phase; it's The Fallen Star by Claudia Gray! This book is set after The Rising Storm in the third wave of the High Republic's first phase, set at the same time as Mission to Disaster & Midnight Horizon (which Mike will be tackling in the near future)! In more detail, Mike begins by confirming where TFS sits in the High Republic timeline, as well as providing some background information to the book and Claudia Gray before providing his spoiler-free thoughts on the book. Mike then reads the blurb & crawl of the book and gives his thoughts on the themes & characters which features some minor spoilers, including some tidbits of information. After providing these thoughts, Mike finishes his review by providing more-detailed thoughts on the book, it's ending and confirming the general plot. This is a perfect review for anyone interested in the final adult novel of the High Republic's first phase; whether you are soon to read it, or have already finished it! The Fallen Star was released January 4th 2022 and is by Claudia Gray. For The High Republic, she also wrote the young adult novel Into The Dark (Phase 1, Wave 1). She also wrote the non-High-Republic SW books Master & Apprentice, Lost Stars, Leia: Princess Of Alderaan and Bloodline. Phase 2 will start in October 2022 and is set 150 years before the first phase. Mike has reviewed all books from the first & second waves of phase 1, which are Light Of The Jedi (reviewed March 2021), A Test Of Courage (August ‘21) & Into The Dark (October ‘21) and The Rising Storm (November ‘21), Race To Crashpoint Tower (February ‘22) & Out Of The Shadows (March '22). In the previous release of SWCIC (ep 92), Mike embarks on the finale of the High Republic comics, which is the third volume, called The Jedi's End - it takes place just before The Fallen Star. In these comics Keeve faces the true face of fear in The Leveler while Sskeer loses his connection to the force, plus Avar Kriss is relentlessly pursuing Lourna Dee at any cost. Amidst this story, Mike also gives additional information on the Frozian, Ugor and Latero species! These High Republic comics are set in 230BBY, in the first phase & third wave of the High Republic; all after Light Of The Jedi & The Rising Storm, with issues 11-13 being just before The Fallen Star while 14 & 15 are set during. The High Republic comics are written by Cavan Scott, with Carlos Lopez as colour artist & Jesus Aburtov on issue 11. The pencillers are Georges Jeanty on issues 11 & 12 and Ario Anindito on 13-15, with inkers Mark Morales on 11, 13, 14 & 15, Karl Story on 11 & 12 and Victor Olazaba on 11 & 15. This week Gabe and Matt dive into the world of August Burns Red with their Re-recorded version of the 2011 record "Leveler". Matt discusses Memphis May Fire and Gabe has his heart broken by Red Fang in this one too.

On episode fifty three of Holy Ghost Notes, Matt talks about the preparation that went into the August Burns Red: Leveler 10 Year Anniversary Live Stream event. The guys proceed to reminisce about their friendship in 2011 when Leveler was first written and recorded. Then Tim and Matt each share a video of a drum performance that has meaning to them and talk about the difference between performing live in front of an audience versus performing in a recording studio setting or at home practicing. They finish it out by taking on the topic of conviction and analyze what it actually means to be “convicted”.

In light of the new re-recorded Leveler album, the boys revisit the OG "Leveler". Live shows, deadly diseases, Kahlotus Washington history lesson, SALSA MUSIC! Stoked for the re-recorded stuff! With special guest Ryan Bordner!
