In this episode of Naked Age, we journey to Sky Farm, the oldest continuously operating nudist club in America, and uncover its remarkable history. Founded in 1932 by a group of German immigrants led by Kurt Barthel and Bill Meyer, Sky Farm became a sanctuary for freedom and community. Through a rare archival interview and vivid storytelling, we trace its roots, the challenges it overcame, and the legacy it continues to uphold as a living testament to the naturist movement.Listen to all episodes of Naked Age at nakedage.co. My next guest on The Richard Robbins Show represented Canada at the 1984 Olympics and now leads his own real estate team inside the country's capital in Ottawa, Ontario. Bill Meyer, a 35-year veteran in the Ottawa real estate market, is the Team Lead of The Tulip Team, one of RE/MAX's top-performing teams in Canada. After the 84' Olympics, Bill knew he had to provide for his wife and young child. He jokes that it was the barrier of entry to real estate that really helped push him into the industry. “Go to Algonquin College for 6 weeks, get your real estate license and we'll hire you.” Today, and nearly 40 years later, he helps his team of 12 agents and 5 support staff service the Ottawa, Ontario area with real estate buying and selling. Bill tells me that his number one priority is helping others achieve success. “What can I do to help you be successful in real estate? Most people, when they get into this business, don't know how to build a solid foundation for their business and my job is to do exactly that.” As a former Olympic athlete, Bill brings with him the discipline, dedication and desire of an Olympian to his real estate business, and is able to apply that experience to the training and mentoring that he provides to his team. In this episode of The Richard Robbins Show, Bill shares his secrets for going for gold in every aspect of your life. He shares stories of training for the Olympics and how you can bring that same energy into your business and personal life. He explains how to eliminate attrition from your business, how to build commodore among your peers and how he plans to live until he is the ripe old age of 111.

Mental Health Summit was kicked off this year with a guided meditation led by William Meyer. We brought the recording here for you. It's a great way to start your day or take a mindful moment in the middle of your day. William Meyer is the author of “Big Breath” and “Healing Breath” - Calm your worries and build your bravery — or just relax during a busy day or wind down before bed with these two picture books. All day long, you breathe — in and out, in and out — without even thinking about it. But did you know that you can play with your breath, use it to take you on an adventure? All you have to do is find a comfy spot and close your eyes. Does your breath sound like ocean waves? Like the wind before a storm or a breeze at the start of spring? Can you feel it all the way down to the tips of your toes? By the time you open your eyes, you might just feel a little lighter, calmer, more relaxed. Bill Meyer is also the author of two adventure chapter books for kids. He also published a guide for meditation in the classroom called, Three Breaths and Begin. He holds degrees from Dartmouth, Harvard and has a PhD from NYU in Education.           More about the Host - Dr. Karin Jakubowski is an elementary public school principal and certified life coach. “I sit in the locker room…and am amazed at how everyone who’s a member of my club is an authority on turfgrass management.” (https://golfyeah.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/william-meyer-with-mag-glass.jpg) Dr. William A. Meyer C. Reed Funk Distinguished Professor of Grass Genetics Rutgers University School of Environmental and Biological Sciences New Brunswick, New Jersey The average golfer gives plenty of thought to the type of clubs he carries and the balls he uses, and pays very little attention to the surface that golf is played on…which is a significant factor in a golfer’s overall enjoyment of the game.  Well-maintained tee-boxes, lush fairways, and greens that are consistent and run true certainly require an investment of time and money. But what makes great golf courses possible is the many decades of turfgrass-related science and experimentation that have been the life-long passion of individuals like Professor William A. Meyer, who is our honored guest on the Golf Yeah podcast. It’s safe to say that few people in the world know more about turfgrass than Professor Meyer. The “short version” of his C.V. is 6-pages long, and here are a few highlights: He holds three degrees from the University of Illinois, including a B.S. in Horticulture-Turf; and a masters degree and a doctorate in plant pathology. Over the course of his long career, he has headed up research for two commercial turf seed companies; been president of his own turfgrass breeding company; taught at the graduate level in the Department of Crop Science at Oregon State University…and currently serves as the C. Reed Funk Distinguished Professor of Grass Genetics at the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences at Rutgers University in New Jersey, where he is also the Director of the Turfgrass Breeding Project at the Center for Turfgrass Science. (https://golfyeah.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Bill-Meyer-on-Hill-smaller.jpg) Professor Meyer belongs to just about every turfgrass-related professional organization on the face of the earth, ranging from the American Society of Agronomy to the International Seed Federation…and he is the recipient of scores of industry awards and recognitions…including life time membership in the Turfgrass Breeder’s Association. Dr. Meyer’s life-long mission has been to develop improved turf and forage grasses that have improved performance; greater seed production capacity; higher resistance to disease and insects; and increased tolerance to heat and drought. And he’s traveled all over the world – from Spain and Sweden to Inner Mongolia – in search of ancient breeds of grass that can help achieve those goals. Our mission over the next 30 to 40 minutes is to gain some insight into the turfgrass world, to see what’s going on at Rutgers Golf Turf Grass Management School…and along the way, to see if we can learn a few things about grass that might improve our appreciation of the golf courses we play on as well as our performance from tee to green. Show Highlights:   How and why grass is in the blood of William Meyer Dr. Meyer’s connection with football legend Dick Butkus Professor Meyer’s travels around the world in search of the best blue grass The history and cultural significance of turfgrass Why Johnny Miller is probably wrong when he says that a putt will break toward the water on a hole An overview of Rutgers University’s turfgrass management curriculum, faculty, and students The wide range of careers that students can pursue, related to turfgrass science Causes for turnover in the golf course superintendent profession The art behind the science of turfgrass breeding and management Whether or not it’s necessary to replace divots on the fairway Advice for people who are interested in a turf management career Mentors who influenced Professor Meyer’s career Notable Quotes:...

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed on The Bill Meyer Show, on KMED FM-106.7 & AM-1440, in Medfield, Oregon, on January 25, 2016, in response to to the news that the Brown v. Buhman ("Sister Wives") case was being appealed (January 21) at the US Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver, Colorado. Mark Henkel explained how the lower court had previously struck down the "cohabitation clause" and had narrowly limited the "purports clause" (to only applying to purporting to have multiple marriage licneses) in Utah's anti-polygamy state law - effectively de-criianlziing "de facto polygamy." Those polygamy-positive changes were then being appealed in the Tenth Circuit. After learning here that UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polgamy, only sought de-criminalization not legalization, the host seemed surprised being in agreement. http://www.NationalPolygamyAdvocate.com --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/nationalpolygamyadvocate/support

Nikolai DiPippa, Clinton School Director of Public Programs, sat down with Bill Meyer. While the power of mindfulness and meditation have become well-known in the culture at large, their use in education is just beginning. But teachers who incorporate moments of stillness, breath awareness, and calming images know how potent these practices are for creating focus and facilitating learning. “Three Breaths and Begin” is about practice, written by a schoolroom teacher who has shared these practices with students, teachers, and parents in a variety of real-world settings. Meyer details exactly how a teacher can use meditation techniques each and every day. From the very beginning of introducing the practice to students by creating a space within the classroom, to meditating on field trips, in sports setting, and in the midst of tragedy, he sets forth scripted meditations, with every aspect of conducting, running, and reflecting on the meditation considered.

A Word from Ms Chelly K: I am native Detroiter, my father Joseph Bell Norris, (or Geno, or Ditty some called him), worked at Motown and because of him I grew up around excellence like going over Marvin Gaye..s house or having different Temptations members come over, because he was there personal engineer and went on tour with them. I was five years old when I first started performing in Down town Detroit..s Kennedy Square, the Rita Bell show, bars that would let me and my three brothers in and out, after performances. I have had the privilege to perform great legends such as, the late great Rudy Robinson, late great Dr. Teddy Harris, and the late great Harold McKinney, and have shared the stage with Marcus Belgrave, Milton and Philip Hale, John Douglas, Ron Carter, Martha Reeves, Bill Meyer, Spider Web, Hubie Crawford, Raysee Biggs, Romona Collins, Sky Covington, Big John, Willie Jones of the Royal Jokers, and TP Coleman, Terry Thunder, Tonya Hudd, Cubie, Willie Wooten, Terry Wheeler, Altemese, Mike Jellick, The Matthew Twins, Ashaki, Ola Hemphill, Diva D, Terry T, and presently working with John Glover and the list goes on and on, especially down at Bert..s Marketplace where we have Jam sessions. I have opened for such great entertainers as Marlena Shaw, Marion Meadows, Temptations Review, The Spinners, and Background vocals for Luther Ingram, Melvin Van Peoples, and performed with great bands like Gordon Camp, the V.I.P..s with Jerry Moss, on the piano, and David Brandon on Drums, and John Bass on bass, and Jimmy Witherspoon, on sax, and Clarence Jackson, of whom I..m working with presently also as a featured vocalists. I want to work with as many talented people that will continue to encourage and educate, inspire, and help to make my dream come true, and that..s to be able to touch people internationally. Thanks in advance for so many comments, encouragement and pushes in the right directions.
