Today in History: The memorial of Reverend William Hechler (of blessed memory), a Christian Zionist pioneer who died in 1931 CE (5691). Hechler was an Anglican minister who helped Theodor Herzl, the famous Jewish leader of modern Zionism. Herzl called him the “first Christian Zionist.” The two remained friends and Hechler recorded Herzl's last words, “Greet Palestine for me. Hey Mama, We know true peace can only come from the One Who Is Peace. If we want peace, we must seek God first. Trouble is, it is easy to become consumed by the busyness of motherhood and life. Maybe you want to spend more time in God's word, but then someone gets sick, or you over-sleep, or your carefully crafted schedule suddenly morphs into chaos. However, I have learned that no matter how busy my schedule, I can find at least 10 minutes each day to spend with God, and you can too. It's time to restore calm in chaos, one step at a time. If your home feels like it's constantly one step away from chaos and you don't have the time or energy for a full-on overhaul, this episode is for you. Today I'm sitting down with Emily Counts from Small Stuff Counts, and she is such a breath of fresh air when it comes to organizing real homes for real life. Emily is a working mom of two who truly gets the juggle, and she shares how small, intentional changes can make your home function better without chasing impossible Pinterest standards. We talk about why starting small matters, especially when you're overwhelmed or craving a fresh start. Emily shares practical ways to tackle the little daily annoyances that quietly drain your energy, from smoother mornings to easier routines, and why those tiny tweaks often make a bigger impact than trying to organize an entire room in one weekend. If you've ever thought you're “not organized enough” or that your house just doesn't work for you, I hope this episode encourages you. Emily reminds us that organization isn't about perfection, it's about creating a home that supports your family, your rhythms, and what matters most right now. This is one of those episodes that will leave you feeling inspired to make one small change and trust that it really does add up. Mentioned in This Episode:
Send me a textThis week I'm talking about why so many of us start Monday feeling confident… and by Tuesday we're already renegotiating everything. What you actually need isn't a stricter schedule. It's a realistic plan that works when life is doing what life does. The real reason your week falls apart isn't laziness or lack of discipline… it's decision fatigue from making too many choices in real time. So I'm walking you through three simple decisions to make before the week starts so you can stop carrying the mental load all day.Mentioned in this episode:

Hey Mama, Living in a fallen world means we will encounter circumstances and situations beyond our control. We will make mistakes and fall short, because we are human, and, inevitably, we will feel stress and anxiousness because we cannot control our husband, our children, or the events for the day. What we can control, however, is how we respond to these things. We can better respond to the stress of life by preparing our bodies, our hearts and our minds to receive and manage stress. Join me today as I share with you how I studied scripture during one of the most overwhelming times of my life, and learn how you, too, can study scripture to prepare your heart and mind to receive and manage stress in just three easy steps. Working nights and raising kids doesn't leave a lot of room for macros and meal prep—and that's exactly why this episode matters. We sit down with Kayla M. to unpack how she built sustainable habits while juggling night shift work, family responsibilities, and a life that rarely goes as planned. With guidance from Coach Kara, Kayla swapped the all-or-nothing mindset for a progress-over-perfection approach: flexible nutrition, compassionate self-talk, and showing up—even when it's messy. You'll hear how she navigates sleep-schedule swings, handles family events without derailing goals, uses coaching for accountability, and models healthy behaviors for her kids. If you're a working mom, shift worker, or anyone stuck waiting for "perfect conditions," Kayla's story is your proof that small steps stack into big change.
