In the final installment of A New Contract With America, Professor Nick Giordano lays out the last two pillars needed to restore America's strength, prosperity, and legitimacy. Part Three focuses on achieving true energy independence, unlocking America's rare earth mineral wealth to fuel economic revival, and restoring trust in elections through commonsense reforms that ensure transparency, accountability, and confidence in the system. These are not theoretical ideas or costly government programs. They are practical, achievable solutions that strengthen national security, lower the cost of living, and reconnect Americans to institutions they no longer trust. This episode ties all ten reforms together and explains how they work in concert to build a freer, stronger, more fiscally responsible America. Episode Highlights How energy independence and rare earth mineral development can spark economic growth and strengthen national security Why election integrity reforms are essential to restoring faith in democracy and increasing voter participation How all ten reforms in A New Contract With America work together to create a more prosperous, free, and accountable nation

Have you ever caught yourself wondering, "Why am I always worried?" Maybe you've experienced persistent stomach pains, digestion issues, or find yourself always irritated with shortness of breath. These symptoms often accompany a worried mind. In this blog post, we will explore the impacts of worry on the body and delve into spiritual and practical steps to find relief. While I am not a doctor or therapist, I draw insights from scripture and personal experiences in hopes of offering you some guidance.Scriptural Insights on WorryingWhat effect does worrying have on our bodies? Various scriptures address the theme of anxiety, such as "be anxious for nothing" and "do not worry about what you will eat or wear," particularly noted in Matthew. These exhortations caution against letting worry overtake our lives. While the nervous system's response to danger is vital, prolonged states of worry can be harmful, a perspective informed by both science and faith.Personal Anecdote: The Fitness ClientThroughout my years teaching fitness, I encountered clients, like one particular woman, who found exercise sessions became another source of anxiety. This was due to underlying worries in her life that were not initially apparent. This experience taught me that addressing issues from a spiritual standpoint can significantly aid physical wellness. By integrating spiritual health, the benefits of physical activities can be magnified. The Physical Impact of WorryingWorrying signals to your body that there is a persistent threat, triggering the release of chemicals like cortisol and adrenaline. While these are beneficial in genuine emergencies, constant worry places you in a harmful state, known as survival mode. This state can lead to symptoms like stomach pains, exhaustion, sleep problems, and brain fog. Understanding these physical reactions underscores the importance of addressing chronic worry.Spiritual Perspective on WorryingWorry not only affects the body but also creates a spiritual wedge. Scriptures encourage us not to be anxious, arguing that worry doesn't add to our life span. Rethinking Healthcare for Christian Families: Faith, Finances, and Biblical Wellness (w/ Dr. Ian Day) - Ep. 169

Christian Parent, Crazy World

What if your healthcare choices could align with both your family’s budget and your faith? In an era where medical bills climb higher and insurance offers less, Christian parents are left searching for answers. In this eye-opening episode, Catherine sits down with Dr. Ian Day, a practicing physician of more than 25 years and the Chief Medical Officer of Medishare, to explore a radical, Christ-centered alternative to traditional healthcare. Healthcare is one of the greatest stressors for families today—unexpected bills, confusing coverage, and ethical compromises have made many believers feel helpless. But what if there was another way? What if solutions from the early church could provide both practical relief and spiritual support? Medishare is a not-for-profit healthcare sharing ministry, bringing Christians together to share medical bills and bear one another's burdens—both physical and spiritual. What You’ll Discover in This Episode: Healthcare Sharing Ministries Demystified: Dr. Day explains the mission behind Medishare, how Christian care ministry works, and why it’s more than just a “healthcare product”—it’s a biblical community modeled on Acts 2 and 4, where believers share both financial and spiritual burdens. What is Biblical Wellness? Discover Dr. Day’s holistic approach to wellness—caring for body, mind, and spirit—and learn how Medishare members are encouraged to prioritize spiritual health right alongside physical and emotional well-being. The True Causes Behind Skyrocketing Costs: Dr. Day breaks down exactly why premiums, deductibles, and medical expenses are spiraling, from prescription costs and hospital consolidation to administrative complexity and the lingering effects of the pandemic. Practical Solutions for Christian Households: Listeners get actionable advice on navigating the coming years, including the role of telemedicine, the importance of stewardship and lifestyle choices, and crucial tips for evaluating healthcare sharing ministries. Values-Driven Coverage: Catherine and Dr. Day wrestle openly with the ethical dilemmas of traditional insurance—funding procedures that oppose biblical beliefs—and celebrate Medishare’s commitment to supporting adoption, maternity, and life-affirming care while excluding services contrary to Christian values. Real Hope, Real Stories: Dr. Day shares moving examples of families whose lives were transformed by Medishare’s practical support, long-term care, and prayerful partnership—highlighting the difference a faith-based approach can make in life’s hardest moments. If you’ve ever wondered why your insurance seems to cover less and cost more—or questioned if your family’s healthcare can truly reflect your faith and values—this episode delivers understanding, clarity, and hope. Catherine closes with a reminder that believers are called to be the answer in a broken world, echoing the early church’s radical love and practical care. Why This Matters: As Catherine puts it, “For all the broken systems in our world, the church needs to be the answer. Believers need to be the answer.” If you’re a Christian parent wrestling with big questions about stewardship, wellness, and truly living your faith in every aspect of life—including those daunting healthcare decisions—this episode will both equip and encourage you. Parenting Takeaway: What steps can you take to model biblical stewardship, community support, and faith-driven discernment in how your family approaches healthcare—body, mind, and spirit? Meet the Guest: Dr. Ian Day is a dedicated leader in faith-based healthcare. Through Medi-Share, Dr. Day has championed a unique model where Christians come together to share medical bills and support each other spiritually, all in alignment with biblical values. With more than 30 years of proven service, Dr. Day has helped Medi-Share become the most trusted name in healthcare sharing, facilitating over $50 million in shared medical expenses each month. He is committed to providing Christian families with a compassionate, God-honoring alternative to traditional insurance, ensuring members are supported not just financially, but also with prayer and encouragement along their healthcare journey. The time reality check… we do not have a lot of it at all.Last year I hit a bit of a wall in August. I felt like I was doing everything right but I still just felt like I was on a constant hamster wheel with work, life, socialising and I felt like I was missing out on a lot.I sat myself down and spent 30 minutes mapping out all the things I was trying to fit into my week, including travel time, transition time and all those little tiny life admin things that stack up… and what I realised was that I was trying to fit in FAR more than I actually had time for, which meant things like my sleep, social life and down time was all taking the hit.I've spent the last year changing my working life, being more realistic on what I can take on and achieve in a week, and things are slowly starting to shift. As someone with ADHD, time blindness is something I struggle with, so this practice really really helped me get my life together a little more from a time management perspective. This is something that has also resonated a lot with the folk that I coach, so I decided to make a free resource so you can use the very same exercise that gave me a time reality check, to give you the space to do the same if you're currently struggling with your time availability for the basics like workouts, a grocery shop, chill time, social time outside of work.I really hope it helps, and. In this episode of the Edufuturists podcast, we talk to Kathryn McColl and Brogan Pierce from Hark about their Listen Up Report, which uncovers why confidence drops during key school transitions, who's most affected, and what educators and employers can do to close the gap. Nearly 1 in 3 young people in the UK lack confidence - a hidden barrier to learning, career opportunities, and life chances. This isn't just about shyness. It's about a systemic issue that shapes learning, limits life chances, and affects the future workforce. Together, we explore The “Unheard Third” - who they are, and why they're being overlooked, as well as why confidence often plummets during school transitions. We dive into how low confidence keeps young people from speaking up, joining in, or taking opportunities and what schools, employers, and communities can do to create emotionally safe, empowering spaces. Kathryn and Brogan share stories from the report, unpack the role of gender, background, and region in shaping confidence, and show how practical interventions, from classroom culture to early employer engagement, can change the game. Drawing from her own deeply personal experience and years of client work, Renee breaks down the emotional, legal, and logistical hurdles that families face, from probate pitfalls to the delicate “right-sizing” conversation. You'll learn how to prepare clients before crisis hits, build a trusted network of attorneys and service providers, and serve with empathy while still leading decisively. Whether you're an agent looking to better serve this growing market or a family member navigating these waters yourself, this episode is a must-listen. What You'll Learn in This Episode The Emotional Landscape of Families in Transition How emotions override logic in real estate decisions during difficult times Understanding the “brokenhearted, disgruntled, and disinterested” client types Legal & Financial Essentials Why wills alone aren't enough to avoid probate — and the one document that can save months of stress The critical role of estate, trust, and probate attorneys — and how to build a referral network Common mistakes families make when transferring property Right-Sizing & Housing Options Why Renee avoids the term “downsizing” and what “right-sizing” really means Exploring ranch homes, condos, multi-generational housing, assisted living, and memory care facilities How reverse mortgages can be a viable solution for funding care needs Practical Solutions for Overwhelmed Families Handling a home full of possessions: storage, donation, selling, or “as-is” sales The benefits of packaging a home sale for buyers willing to purchase with contents included How to lead group decision-making when multiple heirs are involved Agent Leadership & Empathy The balance between compassion and strong leadership in emotional transactions When to refer the listing to another agent (and how to co-list) Building lifetime relationships by guiding clients through one of the hardest seasons of their lives Resources & Links Mentioned Connect with Renee Velasquez: Facebook, Instagram, Email: renee@thersvpgroup.com, Call/Text: (330) 321-3339 HoneyBadgerNation.com – Events, merch, training, and resources for top agents StoryBrand by Donald Miller – Framework for positioning as a guide, not the hero CHSA/CHBA Systems – Increase perceived value and authority in every deal   "Comparison is the thief of joy, and I stopped comparing my business to everyone else's." – Renee Velasquez Connect with Us: Instagram: @johnkitchenscoach LinkedIn: @johnkitchenscoach Facebook: @johnkitchenscoach   If you enjoyed this episode, be sure to subscribe and leave a review. Welcome to our three-part episode covering the webinar series of the 2025 International Day Against Harassment and for Inclusion in the World of Work, an event organised by Rezalliance in partnership with FER Geneva, Narratives of Purpose, and Strukturelle. This first episode delves into the intricate relationship between workplace harassment, mental health, and organisational culture. The speakers, Dr. Makiko Kuramoto and Dr. Jennifer Fraser, engage in a profound exploration of how systemic issues within corporate environments contribute to the normalisation of bullying and harassment. They argue that such behaviours often symptomatic of deeper cultural flaws, including rigid hierarchies and a lack of accountability. The discussion highlights the neurobiological consequences of harassment, stating that such knowledge is essential for fostering healthier workplaces. Both experts stress the importance of leadership in modeling appropriate behaviour and establishing a culture of safety, respect, and open communication, thereby not only preventing harassment but also enhancing overall organisational performance. Speaking from both personal experience and years of coaching clients, Brad offers practical strategies to help regain control without sacrificing your social life. Why Bingeing Happens Bingeing often stems from emotional triggers, restrictive dieting patterns, and social habits. Brad explains that the feeling of “nothing feels as good as bingeing” is more common than most admit. While some binge on food and others on alcohol, the root issues often overlap. For deeper emotional causes, he recommends seeking professional support.Top Three Strategies to Reduce Food BingeingStabilize Blood Sugar with Protein and Fiber Start meals with psyllium husk, followed by protein and healthy fats. Choose low-glycemic carbohydrates like quinoa, brown rice, or whole grains to avoid sharp insulin spikes that lead to cravings. This approach keeps you fuller longer and less likely to overeat.Avoid the Restrict-Binge Cycle Don't punish yourself after a binge by skipping meals or drastically cutting calories. This slows your metabolism and sets you up for another binge. Instead, eat a normal or slightly reduced calorie intake the next day and focus on balance.Interrupt Your Binge Triggers Recognize what patterns lead to bingeing—whether it's late-night boredom, stress, or habit. Replace those routines with simple actions like taking a walk after meals, drinking tea, chewing gum, or preparing healthy snacks ahead of time.Top Three Strategies to Curb Alcohol BingeingCreate a Weekend Game Plan Plan your drinking for later in the day. Start with a healthy breakfast or protein shake, then fast until the social event. Use non-alcoholic drinks between alcoholic ones to cut down total intake. This alone can significantly reduce alcohol consumption.Eat a Protein-Rich Meal Before Drinking Eating before drinking slows absorption and helps avoid mindless snacking later. Brad often eats before going out so he's not overly hungry when ordering at restaurants or parties, which also saves money and calories.Identify the Emotional Root of Your Drinking Use journaling to understand why you drink. Is it for stress relief, social bonding, or just habit? Finding healthier replacements like CBD, adaptogenic drinks, or non-alcoholic alternatives can support long-term change.Additional TipsBring your own healthy snacks or proteins to parties or events.Prepare mocktails or low-calorie drinks in advance.Stay hydrated and include electrolytes when consuming alcohol.00:00 Introduction: The Struggle with Bingeing00:37 Understanding Bingeing: Food and Alcohol01:08 Practical Tips for Managing Binge Eating03:45 Breaking the Binge-Restrict Cycle04:34 Identifying and Breaking Triggers05:41 Top Strategies for Alcohol Bingeing10:43 Final Thoughts and Community SupportIf you're interested in online personal training or being a guest on my podcast, "Over 40 Fitness Hacks," you can reach me at brad@over40fitnesshacks.com or visit my website at:www.Over40FitnessHacks.comAdditionally, check out my Yelp reviews for my local business, Evolve Gym in Huntington Beach, at https://bit.ly/3GCKRzV

Terry's latest book, *Too Much: A Guide to Breaking the Cycle of High-Functioning Codependency*, serves as the backdrop for our discussion, providing a roadmap to understanding and overcoming the patterns that often hold us back. We reflect on the common struggle of over-giving in relationships—where we instinctively prioritize helping others often at the expense of our own needs. Terry poignantly articulates the tendency of high-functioning codependents (HFCs) to project positivity onto others, leading to frustration when the expected support isn't reciprocated. Together, we explore how this can create unbalanced dynamics, ultimately making HFCs feel as though they are not deserving of the care they so willingly provide to others. We examine significant societal pressures that have shaped these behaviors, particularly for women navigating the complexities of independence while managing emotional labor within their homes and relationships. Understanding the roots of these behaviors is crucial. As we discuss familial dynamics and societal expectations, we uncover the notion that HFCs might emerge not just from trauma, but also from a long history of conditioning—especially for those raised within patriarchal frameworks that undervalue emotional expression. Through shared anecdotes and personal reflections, Terry emphasizes the importance of recognizing our own boundaries and the necessity of allowing others the space to navigate their own challenges. #codependency #highfunctioningcodependency #HFC #mentalhealth #relationships #selfhelp #therapy #personalgrowth #mindfulness #anxietycoachespodcast #acp #GinaRyan Learn more about your ad choices.
