The problem with understanding the Bible for just about all of us is that we all come to the Bible with our OWN way of thinking. We've already decided what God is like and what we are like. Unfortunately, it is usually a very wrong assessment. In the gospel of Luke, Chapter 15 the Lord Jesus Christ tells a story that we know now as 'the prodigal son'. But there is more to the story than the son who left home for a far country and later returned to his father. You see, the Lord Jesus was telling the story to a group of self-righteous Pharisees. Yes, the prodigal son certainly needed forgiveness all right, but so did the religious congregation. You see, they ALL needed a 'change of mind'. They needed to look at reality the way that God reveals it to us in His Word. And so do we! I trust that our message today will help YOU to align your thoughts and reasonings to what God wants you to know.

Amisha went to Canada for hospitality management and spent 13 years before moving to India and currently living in Ahmedabad. She got married 10 years ago and her husband is not at all interested in returning to India. Amisha talks about her background, what made her go abroad, and struggles in Canada as a student. So many great thinkers were experts at rationality and logic who didn't realize that the rationality they were applying to this world was as if the world was real and as if the world had some meaning in it. But when you use rationality to meaninglessness, it goes nowhere. Some of us have tried. We've tried to be rational creatures in an insane world. And, at times, wondered; This is ridiculous. How am I ever going to find meaning in such an insane world? So Jesus has helped us out. He tells us this world is backward and upside down. And he tells us that we will never find our true identity in this world. A veil is drawn over the truth to blind us from the truth and he's permitting us to drop it. Drop trying to find meaning and understanding in the world. The kingdom of heaven is within you, and he was pointing us toward prayer and meditation. Spirit of God, show me the truth. Everything I perceive with my five senses has not taken me to the truth, but there is a way; there must be a way because you said knock, and the door shall be opened. Today we look at just what repentance means and what it looks like. Derek explains the Greek and Hebrew meanings, drawing them together into a picture that can be seen in the parable of the prodigal son. When this prodigal son, in his misery and broken state, came to himself, he was able to repent and return to his father's house in humility.
