On todays Zero Limits Podcast I chat with Scotty Mac former signals operator from 126 Signals Squadron that supports the 2nd Commando Regiment.Scott enlisted into the Australian Defence Force in 2006 first enlisting as infantry soldier during basic training at Kapooka he transferred to Signals Corps. After completing basic and initial employment training Scott had the desire to post to a unit that supports special forces and with hard work he was posted to 126 Signals Squadron which supports the at the time 4RAR soon to be renamed 2nd Commando Regiment Australian Special Forces on the East coast of Australia.Scott deployed on two SOTG rotations supporting 2CDO on operations in Afghanistan in Romeo Platoon Bravo Company and with November Platoon Alpha Company. During his deployments Scott encountered multiple life changing scenarios including calling in a medevac for KIA Brett Till, WIA Damien Thomlinson and the when Scott Smith was killed by an IED.In recent years November platoon was falsely portrayed and defamed in the media more specifically by the ABC network portraying that the platoon was involved in war crimes also most recently altering gun shots of a clip with Heston Russell and Scott the soldier that fired his weapon in a helo during a 2CDO task. The ABC lost the defamation case against the platoon commander Heston Russell and the ABC denied actions of editing audio and suggested it was an editing error.  www.3zeroscoffee.com.auInstargram @3zeroscoffee Discount Code 3ZLimits Website - www.zerolimitspodcast.comInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/zero.limits.podcast/?hl=enHost - Matty Morris www.instagram.com/matty.m.morrisSponsorsGatorz Australia - www.gatorzaustralia.com15% Discount Code - ZERO15(former/current military & first responders 20% discount to order please email orders@gatorzaustralia.com.auGetSome Jocko Fuel - www.getsome.com.au10 % Discount Code - ZEROLIMITS

On this week's podcast we speak with former 4RAR Commando / SASR Veteran Jordan McCallum. Jordan served 19 years within the Australian Army, starting as an infantryman and first deploying to East Timor in 2003 with the 1st Battalion Royal Australian Regiment. Shortly after returning he passed the Special Forces (SF) barrier test for 2nd Commando Regiment (originally 4RAR) getting his first taste of SF.   Jordan spent six years at the 2nd Commando Regt (2 Cdo) and deployed twice to Afghanistan within Special Operations Task Group (SOTG). Both trips were life changing for Jordan in many ways and only grew his appetite for Special Operations.   He also served two rotations of TAG-East on Domestic Counter Terrorism Duties (DCT). During this time, he conducted numerous Personal Security Detachments (PSD) to the Middle East providing protection for the Minister for Defence, CJOPS, and CDF. This experience gained was pivotal, and his time spent at 2Cdo was cherished, and it was extremely hard to leave the unit behind in 2009.     In 2009, Jordan attempted and passed the elite Special Air Service Regiments (SASR) Selection Course and was chosen to begin training. Over the following 18 months he qualified to become a member of the elite SASR, earning his Sandy Beret. He spent 6 years within the unit, deploying another two times to Afghanistan and another rotation within DCT, this time within TAG-West.   Jordan's time serving within the SASR was unfortunately, cut short due to burnout and physical injuries. It was at this point that was the hardest decision to date to leave the SASR after so much blood, sweat and tears.   Jordan spent two years posted to the 16th Royal Western Australian Regiment (RWAR) on a low tempo posting, teaching Army Reserves basic soldering skills and running short courses for their development.   His final three years within Defence was with the 1st Intelligence Battalion involved within some specialist roles.  This is where he discharged in 2020     Presenter: Adam Blum Guest: Jordan McCallum Editor: Kyle Watkins Investigative Consultant: Adam Holloway

On today's Zero Limits Podcast I sit down for a chat with Damien Thomlinson former 2nd Commando Regiment Operator, Author, Actor, Speaker and double amputee IED survivor. Inspired by the military history of his Grandfather, Damien joined the Australian Defence Force and at the age of just 24 achieved his dream of becoming a Commando. This elite group is tasked with the most physically demanding, mentally challenging and dangerous roles in the armed forces. He joined the Australian Army in 2005, It was while serving in Afghanistan with the 2nd Commando Regiment that Thomlinson's life was changed forever. In April 2009, whilst on night patrol in Southern Afghanistan, Damien's unit drove over an improvised explosive device planted by the Taliban. Damien suffered horrendous injuries in the explosion, which resulted in both of his legs being amputated. The damage to his body was so severe his medical team claim it is a miracle he wasn't killed, and there were many times throughout his immediate treatment and beyond that medical staff did not think he would pull through. Let's GO!Support the show - https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=9LG48GC49TW38Website - www.zerolimitspodcast.comInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/zero.limits.podcast/?hl=en

On today's Zero Limits Podcast we chat with owner of Origin K9 former 3RAR and 2nd Commando Regiment operator Thomas Brown. Growing up in Sydney Tom set his sights on joining the army which he decided he'd join the reserve forces. After two years he realised that he wanted more and want to transition to the fulltime army as an infantry soldier. After the career transition he was posted to the 3rd Battalion Royal Australian Regiment and deployed to Afghanistan as an infantry battalion in 2012. Upon return to Australia and unsettled on his career Tom decided to transfer back to the reserves and do some traveling. After seeing special forces soldiers working in Afghanistan the seed was planted where he decided to attempt 2CDO selection which he passed and soon completed his reinforcement cycle to be badged as a 2 Commando special forces operator. During his posting he spent time in the Tactical Assault Group East ( TAG E) and then was deployed to Iraq on operation okra in 2016. After returning from Iraq and having a relationship breakdown contributed to a mental breakdown which Tom attempted and acted on self harm. With seconds to live he decided not to go through with the self harm attempt however the Police were called and he was admitted into hospital under watch. Moving forward he is now the owner of Origin K9 a company providing K9 solutions to a wide market and he is also the host of the Origin K9 podcast which can be found on many platforms talking specifically about the K9 industry.
