This week I'm beginning my supposed ‘break' from reading.There is still an episode, however, and it's a doozy. You may be glad to hear I've put down the books for a short while, ‘cos my guest is a huge name from the cinematic aisle of the horror world – Craig Engler, GM of Shudder is in the house!!He joined me for a conversation back in October, when we were both in the throes of the Halloween build up. Now, listening to this weeks later, you can hardly hear the strain in our voices at all. We talk about Craig's creative life and work – from his role in the show, Z-nation, to the helm of Shudder. A subsidiary of AMC Networks, they have over 1 million subscribers across North America and Europe, and have recently expanded to Australia and New Zealand. Joining in 2018, Craig previously enjoyed a long-standing career as a writer and TV network executive, spending a successful 15 years at Syfy. In this in-depth interview, Craig talks through the journey of their successful original series ‘Creepshow,' when an “amazing series of coincidences” brought the show to launch, working with an array of Hollywood A-List talent including Stephen King, Kiefer Sutherland, Justin Long and Giancarlo Esposito; tackles critics who say the streaming market is saturated, and explains why “finding ways to surprise and delight members” is helping making Shudder “not your only streamer - but your favourite streamer;” and shares the creative process involved in bringing the hit TV show ‘Z Nation' to the screen as writer and producer.

It's not often you get to talk about one of your favorite movies with one of your closest friends, but I managed to do just that AND get it all on tape for you lovely people. One Cut Of The Dead is one of the most unique and original movies to come along in years, and if there is one person on the entire planet that loves this movie more than me, it might just be Jeremy. It's the kind of movie that just gives us that nice warm feeling down in the cockles of our hearts, and we had an absolute BLAST sharing our favorite moments, asking each other questions, and just laughing hysterically at stuff in the movie, as well as our own insane lives. It's my first podcast with a fellow movie fan, and, while I always love speaking with writers, directors, and actors, I think I may work a few more episodes like this in because it was just so damn fun to geek out about stuff and get wasted for an hour.
