This exclusive interview with Patrick Jackson, an IT reverse engineering specialist who has spent years conducting groundbreaking research into paranormal phenomena and unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP). From the outside, number 30 East Drive in Pontefract looks like any other house on the street. It is a modest 3-bedroom semi-detached council house circa the 1950s. However, it has a sinister side hiding within. This house is the domain of a somewhat evil entity who has come to be known affectionately as ‘Fred' or sometimes ‘The Black Monk' or the Pontefract poltergeist. He is believed to be the most violent poltergeist in Europe, and he has been making his presence known for more than fifty years. Poltergeist Hauntings Poltergeist (German for "rumbling ghost" or "noisy spirit") is a type of ghost or spirit that is responsible for physical disturbances, such as loud noises and objects being moved or destroyed. They often include examples of punching, scratching and capable of the movement or levitation of objects such as furniture and cutlery, or noises such as knocking on doors. Foul smells are also associated with poltergeist occurrences, as well as spontaneous fires and different electrical issues such as flickering lights. Common Experiences Even after more than 50 years, the entity that lives at 30 East Drive is anything but dormant. The official website currently lists almost 300 ‘happenings' reported from visitors, but there are many more. It seems that few visitors leave without having personal experiences. Common types of reported activity include foul smells, disembodied voices, scratches and other physical attacks, unexplained light anomalies, nausea and shadowy figures. Fred's favourite party trick is moving marbles around. Not only will he roll them or throw them, but they sometimes appear to drop through the ceiling or appear out of thin air. Some visitors have even claimed to have had marbles appear in their homes and other locations after leaving East Drive. In this episode, you will be able to: 1. Lying within the country of England is an unassuming, normal looking house, which nevertheless has managed to go on to accrue a reputation as one of the most haunted locations in the nation. Here at this abode we have a rather volatile, frightening, and violent entity that has come to be known simply as the Black Monk. The year was 1966, and a family consisting of Jean and Joe Pritchard and their two children, Phillip, 15, and Diane, 12, moved into a quiet house on 30 East Drive, in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, England. It was not long after they had settled in that strange things began to happen around the home, starting, as these things tend to, rather innocently enough. The first main incident started on September 1, 1966, when the son Philip was staying at the home with his grandmother, Sarah Scholes, while the rest of the family was away on a trip to Devon.

En este domicilio, situado en el número 30 de East Drive, en West Yorkshire, Inglaterra, la familia empezó a sufrir agresiones de todo tipo. Se dice que la entidad responsable de tales ataques se trata del Monje Negro, un monje del siglo XVI que fue declarado culpable por la violación y el asesinato de una niña y que fue posteriormente ahorcado en las inmediaciones de la casa. Según el autor de libros paranormales Colin Wilson, comenzaron a aparecer charcos de agua en el suelo de la vivienda y el nivel de intensidad y de agresividad hacia la familia fue en aumento, hasta que acabaron por huir del domicilio. Jonathan Kuhn, director of Arts & Antiquities for the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, discusses the statue of Balto, a famous Siberian husky responsible for delivering diphtheria antitoxin to the town of Nome, Alaska. The glowing bronze of this statue on a rock outcropping near the East Drive at 67th Street reflects the loving pats of countless children and adults who recall the story of a heroic dog. In January 1925, the city of Nome, Alaska experienced an outbreak of diphtheria. At that time, Nome had a population of 1,429 people and there was only enough antitoxin serum in distant Anchorage to treat about 300 people exposed to the disease. A train line did run over 325 miles from Anchorage to Nenana, the station closest to Nome, but Nome was icebound seven months out of the year. Alaska's two open-cockpit planes were not safe in the frigid and windy weather.A relay of mushers and their dog-sled teams was the only way to deliver the fur-wrapped twenty-pound package of serum to the ailing community 674 miles from Nenana. The route followed the old Iditarod Trail used by mail drivers from Anchorage to Nome (now the route of the dog-sled championships). The 20 teams of over 200 dogs covered the frozen terrain at about six miles per hour, in blizzard conditions with temperatures of 50 degrees below zero. An international audience listened over their radios and read in their newspapers of the race to Nome. The last musher, Gunnar Kasson, and his team lead by Balto, a black and white Alaskan malamute, raced over the frozen tundra in only five days and seven hours - a world record time. Within days after the arrival of the serum, the epidemic, which had claimed five lives, was over.

You might not believe in ghosts, but it would be difficult to ignore all the furtive and orchestrated actions that were going on throughout the years at 30 East Drive, which continue to this day. Certainly, in some famous poltergeist cases, incidents could have been manipulated to gain attention for the prankster. However, unless you're contending that pre-teens have somehow gained Hollywood Special Effects level skills in every case, then some of the more bizarre and baffling examples of poltergeist activity would be worthy of investigation. Then what exactly, are the defining factors between a run-of-the-mill poltergeist and other types of spirit activity? Is a poltergeist more paranormal than supernatural? What are the rules? There are theories that poltergeist activity may be a physical manifestation of intensely directed energy emanating from people, mostly youth. As "fringe" as that may seem, then in some cases it might possibly be explained by science one day, that is, if enough scientists would be willing to endure the ridicule and ensuing damage to their reputations from their peers. However, the strange activity at 30 East Drive seems much more than that, not only because it continued long after the Pritchards left the house, but also because this energy appears to have a personality behind it, and there are indications that there's more than one spectral personality residing around the property. The quote, "Guests, like fish, begin to smell after three days" is attributed to Benjamin Franklin. We assume the esteemed Mr. Franklin was speaking only of human guests, but it could also apply to the subject of tonight's show. Because the uninvited guest of 30 East Drive in Pontefract, England would prove to be more than an annoying visitor oblivious to hints or uncaring that they'd overstayed their welcome, it would show itself as a threat to the family's safety and sanity. In the mid-1960s and 70s, the Pritchard family who lived at that address experienced a visitor who was not only unwelcome but unseen, a capricious prankster whose sense of humor was offset by its sometimes vicious and violent power. Human beings have an astounding ability to endure hardships they are powerless against and eventually, this poltergeist presence came to be somewhat accepted, with the mother of the family, Jean, giving it the nickname "Fred." But what was this force in supernatural terms? Was Fred merely poltergeist energy in the general definition, a collective of entities, a demon, or the vengeful spirit of a condemned man? A local legend that a 16th century Cluniac Monk was tried and executed for a horrific crime on those grounds is the source for that last idea. Some have seen a dark, shadowy figure wearing a black monk's robe around the property and it has reinforced that notion. England has no shortage of paranormal happenings. Countless locations in the English countryside are steeped in bloody histories and surrounded by local myth and superstition. Where you might expect many of the most haunted places to be ancient castles or foggy moors it is actually an unassuming house in East Yorkshire that claims the title of “The most violent haunting in Britain”. Number 30 East Drive on the Chequerfields estate has a paranormal history that spans 5 decades. From 1966 when the Pritchard family moved into the house, to 2016 when paranormal investigators claimed to photograph the incorporeal entity known as the “Black Monk”. This apparition is allegedly the cause of the many strange happenings that happened within the walls of Number 30 East Drive. A force which is described as malevolent and capable of seemingly shaking the very foundation of the home.
