As we wrap up season 7, I was honoured to sit down for a conversation with the artist Kim McElroy. As you'll hear in this episode, I met Kim in 2007 through a series of synchronistic events, and was struck by her presence even then. I then had the opportunity to be inspired by her art as I regularly pulled cards from the Way of the Horse, her collaborative deck with Linda Kohanov. In this episode, timed for the release of her newest collaboration with one of my mentors Sandra Wallin, the Council of Horses Oracle deck, you'll learn about the almost 20 year journey from first inspiration for this deck to this moment, how Kim and Sandra chose which mythical and modern-day horses to include, what it meant to create a lasting legacy for many of the horses and herds included in this deck, and how art can be the deepest expression of essence, energy and emotion. Kim also unveils one of her original works of arts included in the deck, the Mythic Horse, which I've shared on my main podcast page. This chat was a walk through the past as it caught up with our present, and it was a chance for reflection on what a journey it has been for both of us! Definitely one of my favourite conversations to date, and as you can hear, I love the perks of this job, like being gifted a gorgeous horse oracle deck created by two women I hold very dear. I love the way this deck doesn't tip toe around the tough stuff - and the way Kim continues to be a fierce advocate for the horse. Kim McElroy has been drawn to horses since childhood, and as soon as she could hold a crayon, this manifested as her art. For more than thirty years, she has been known for her intuitive understanding of the sentient nature of horses and her ability to infuse her art with their spiritual energy. She distills this energy into expressions of the horses' quintessential essence in ways that transcend how they are traditionally defined. Through her incredible mastery of pastels, and her talent in writing about her visionary insights, she conveys the power and beauty of the horse's form—yet more than that, she offers us a timeless glimpse of its soul. Kim is the co-author and illustrator of The Council of Horses, illustrator and co-creator of Way of the Horse: Equine Archetypes for Self-Discovery deck and guidebook by Linda Kohanov, the author and illustrator of the Way of the Horse Journal, and From Heart to Art: A Chronicle of the Experiences, Philosophies, and Inspirations behind the Artwork of Kim McElroy In 2000, Kim and her husband, Rod, created SkyeLandeSea sanctuary in Washington State, where they provided loving forever homes to rescued horses and a menagerie of other animals. Now that their beloved horses have joined the Council, their sanctuary is home to a resident herd of wild but well-fed deer, and two capricious housecats. Kim offers studio tours by appointment. And with Southeast Asia's digital economy tipped to see gross merchandise value hit US$1 trillion by 2030, what opportunities lie ahead of the firm? Meanwhile, Fave is also seeing a number of exciting developments. For instance, Fave had in November last year said it was taking part in the Singapore Quick Response Code+ or SGQR+ POC (proof of concept) led by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. The initiative aims to enhance interoperability between merchants and QR payment apps. But what does Fave's participation mean when it comes to the dollars and cents? On Under the Radar, The Evening Runway's finance presenter Chua Tian Tian posed these questions to Hayley Pang, Head of Strategic Partnerships, Fave.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

My conversation with Kim made me feel like a kid again. It was a beautiful journey to explore the connection between our artistic or creative natures with the reality of working with horses and the help they can offer us spiritually. Our opening conversation links back to Linda Kohanov's interview (aired in Februar), as the two of them created a beautiful book and horse spirit card deck which I use regularly in my work with clients. For over three decades, Kim McElroy has been renowned for her visionary equine art. The horse is her muse, ever inspiring her to find new ways to awaken humanity to their healing gifts. Through her incredible mastery of pastels, and her talent in writing about her artistic insights, Kim conveys the power and beauty of the horse's form... yet more than that, she offers us a timeless glimpse of its soul.As humans, we have a natural inclination to seek out connection and belonging, and one of the most powerful ways to do this is by connecting to nature. In this episode, we will explore the deep connection between humans and horses and how it influences the way we choose a property for them. Welcome to another episode. In today's show, I wanted to replay my session which was part of my #BEtheDifference Summit I ran recently. I was one of 12 speakers specifically for Kingdom-focused Entrepreneurs, Truth Seekers & Rebels with a cause: How to champion REAL change in a culture of compromise with renewed unbreakable, unshakeable Faith & Courage My topic was: Breaking through Spiritual Strongholds that'll Keep you Stuck from Living out Your Kingdom Purpose I'm sure you'd agree that there are things being said and shared in the world today – that are in total contrast to what the Lord has said and what the Lord created. In this episode I speak about something I've recently heard and how it reminds us of the Bible verse in Romans 12: 22 where we are told: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approach what God's will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will.” I share more in this episode, while also extending another invitation to our upcoming #BEtheDifference Summit, where I will be speaking about how to break through spiritual strongholds that can keep you stuck from living out your kingdom purpose. Paul Hanges, CEO of JibJab speaks with Office Hours host Spencer Rascoff about how the L.A.-based digital entertainment studio has attained success beyond its viral videos by moving into the eCards space and using its unique blend of satirical humor to compete with rivals Hallmark and American Greetings. Founded in 1999 by brothers Evan and Gregg Spiridellis, the company first achieved widespread attention during the 2004 U.S. presidential election. Their video of candidates George Bush and John Kerry singing “This Land Is Your Land” became a viral hit. JibJab has produced commercials and short videos for clients including Sony, Noggin, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, PBS Kids, Sprout, NBC, Qubo and Disney before focusing on what eventually became their flagship personalized eCard and messaging services. They've seen surprising success with their animated sticker-making program which became a top App Store download. In 2019, JibJab was acquired by the private equity firm Catapult Capital.

Marcus Tober got his start by founding Ecards and More (now called Bonnyprints), which had around 180,000 unique visitors per day by the time he sold it in 2008. Since then, his focus has been on Searchmetrics, of which he is the founder and CTO. He’s an SEO innovator whose influence and insights led to him being named “Search Personality of the Year” at the European Search Awards 2016. He’s a regular speaker at conferences and has been quoted in journals and magazines, and after this conversation with him, the reason is clear: he has an incredibly deep understanding of the details of SEO and what it takes to create good content. To top it off, he gives clear examples that can illuminate a confusing concept in a way that will help you apply it to your own case. Find Out More About Marcus Here: Marcus.tober on Facebook@marcustober on TwitterMarcus Tober on LinkedInSearchmetrics In This Episode: [03:04] - Marcus responds to Stephan’s question about needing to base content creation on data (rather than just writing whatever you think your audience may want to hear). In his response, Marcus gives some great insight into creating content, all while explaining how Searchmetrics works. [08:17] - Marcus talks about the differentiation between coming up with a topic and a list of keywords. He discusses the relevance of intentions by using the example of hairstyles. [11:49] - We hear a bit about how Google’s changes mean that marketers should now focus on having happy users instead of good rankings. [13:04] - A lot of people still view content the old way in terms of creating throwaway content based around a specific keyword. [15:48] - Where is the future in SEO if we’re moving away from checklists? How should we be preparing today? [21:13] - Marcus tells us the steps we need to keep in mind for mobile searches and gives the concept of “mobile-first design.” [23:33] - Marcus clarifies what he meant in his reference to “AI first.” [25:12] - After Stephan’s suggestion that interactive voice commands (rather than the keyboard) are the interface to the web of the future, Marcus agrees and elaborates. [28:53] - Marcus talks a bit about the new ranking factors. He clarifies by giving an example about the length of pages by word count. We also learn about the extensive research his company has done through ranking-factor analysis. [33:28] - Stephan asks Marcus which SEO rumors he can squash. [35:20] - One of the myths out there is that Google is using your own analytics data against you, Stephan says. Marcus gives his thoughts, which is that Google doesn’t need to do that because they have enough data from Chrome and search behavior. [37:07] - Marcus talks about dwell time versus bounce rate. He points out that users in some areas are more likely to look for more results and points out how this can make the bounce rate a poor indicator in these fields. [39:02] - After every major Google update, Marcus’s company makes a report on the biggest winners and losers. He talks more about how that’s calculated and how they’re able to see patterns across pages. [42:29] - Marcus explains his thoughts on RankBrain and explains how it works. [45:00] - What are the next steps for someone who wants to work with Marcus’s toolset? The answer: if you go to searchmetrics.com/content, you can apply for a demo. [47:22] - We learn why Searchmetrics is being released this way, rather than simply giving it a large release. What a week! It started with my love/hate relationship with the Globes. Then I officially kicked-off my #MIH15by15 weight loss challenge to lose 15 pounds by my 15th wedding anniversary in May. And I got some amazing actor news (details coming soon!). Finally, I got to cap it off by making friends with a funny, down-to-earth mama named Anna Lind Thomas from HaHas for HooHas and The Anna and Susannah Show. Life is good ya'll! Anna is the creative genius behind HaHasforHooHas.com-a funny eCards website aimed at women. Honestly, dudes will probably love it too. It's full of genuine and relatable eCards, stories and content all moms and women will enjoy. She also recently launched a podcast where she shares her fun stories and interviews guests each week. Check out the recent show she did with yours truly! In this episode we chatted about the wonder of meat buffets, Sister Wives, and funny women we admire. All glorious and special topics in their own way. Plus hard-hitting topics like our admiration of Amy Schumer, how much sex we're having, and how much sex our husbands think we're having. Often, they are different numbers. I had so much fun talking to Anna and we have mutually decided that we are going to be friends for life. Thanks podcasting for bringing us together! You can find the HaHas for HooHas podcast on iTunes, Blog Talk Radio or the HooHas website. And make sure you follow Anna and her HooHa on social media to keep up with the daily fun.
