Scott talks with Jim Bovard about the recent acquittals in the Michigan Kidnapping case and FBI entrapments in general. Bovard explains how the Supreme Court changed the definition of entrapment which allowed federal agents to take more active roles in organizing the plots they would later use to arrest and charge participants. Bovard and Scott discuss how the FBI really kicked up these operations to target young Muslim men after 9/11. Now as the government pivots to so-called domestic terrorism, there's no indication that the tactics have changed. In this podcast description, we're going full meta for Kenan & Kel's final main series episode. In honor of this clip show enjoy these clips of our best episode descriptions. "Kenan tries to make lemons out of lemonade. The lemons are an ill-placed screw in a can of tuna. The lemonade is 10 million dollars." "Kel loves orange soda. Is it true? Mmhmm. He do, he do, he do-ooo! But when Kel's beverage consumption turns his insides more orange than a Nickelodeon logo, Kenan challenges him to quit cold turkey. And quit drinking orange soda too." "Between school and work, Friday was shaping up to be the worst day ever for Kenan, until he started scheming. Now, aiming for the best day ever, Kenan & Kel's game of hooky starts with a little bank transaction. But before they can withdrawal, trouble makes a deposit." "It's Thanksgiving at the Rockmore household and Roger has another bird to baby. Unfortunately, Kel's supernatural appetite ruins their dinner plans and it's up to Kenan & Kel to stave off a Ravenous Uncle Remus, a narcoleptic nana, and a manly aunty. Can they score a Turkey Day touchdown or are their schemes half-baked?" "The Big Comic Book Convention is back in Chicago (no, not that one) and Kenan & Kel are ready to geek out. The only thing standing between Kenan and the fabled issue of Skunkator #6 is his commitment to onboarding the new Rigby's employee, Sharla. Can a clever comic cosplay con Chris certainly?" "Reincarnation. Haunted Photos. RC Cars. Empathic Intelligence. The Entrapments of Teenage Employment. Pictionary. Minor League Baseball Game Concession Stands. All of these are discussed on this episode where Kenan & Kel find a rat in Rigby's." "Kenan grapples with the identity of his birth parents who may not in fact be Roger & Sheryl. His entire sense of self hangs in the balance as he explores his true lineage. Kel grapples with a knight's helmet." Many of you may know that we launched a new course in December of 2019 called FAKTR Peripheral Nerve Entrapments or FAKTR PNE for short.Just three short months later; COVID-19 hit hard in the US and we made the decision to transition the FAKTR pne course to a self-paced online 8hr course. Today's format is a bit different than a typical episode. First, we feature an interview Dr. Todd Riddle, our Director of Education had with FAKTR PNE course creators, Drs. Mike Olson and Spencer Lindholm and then transition into a training on the adhering evidence-based guidelines when assessing and treating peripheral nerve entrapments.Topics discussed on today's episode include defining PNE—what it is and how these entrapments occur, common patient presentations, and the evidence-based medicine “triad.”If you're confused about what peripheral nerve entrapments ARE, you're in the right place—if you're in clinical practice, you might encounter them all of the time and not realize it. If you are a pro at treating PNE, then you're sure to enjoy this discussion…I'm sure you'll pick up some clinical pearls along the way. This Episode is Sponsored by:Today's episode is brought to you FAKTR. Dr. Brock Reiter discusses hand and upper extremity nerve entrapments and the connection with neuropathy including; carpal tunnel, cubital tunnel, radial tunnel, and tennis elbow. Neuropathy often causes pain and numbness as a result of damage to the peripheral nerves, the nerves outside the brain and spinal cord. Carpal tunnel syndrome is numbness and tingling in the hand and arm that is caused by a pinched nerve in the wrist. Cubital tunnel syndrome, also known as ulnar nerve entrapment, occurs when the ulnar nerve, which travels down your neck into your hand, becomes compressed or irritated. Radial tunnel syndrome is caused by pressure on the radial nerve, often at the elbow. Tennis elbow is inflammation, irritation, or sometimes microtearing of the tendons that connect the forearm muscles on the outside of the elbow. About Brock Reiter, MD Dr. Brock Reiter is a La Porte City, Iowa native who attended Iowa State University for his undergraduate degree and then traveled to Chicago Medical School to complete his graduate degree. His residency and fellowship were both in Indianapolis at Indiana University and the Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center respectively. Dr. Reiter specializes in hand and upper extremity fracture surgery and soft tissue reconstruction, as well as shoulder arthroscopy & arthroplasty, elbow arthroscopy, arthroplasty, complex wrist and hand surgeries for trauma or arthritis, and nerve disorders including compressive neuropathies (carpal or cubital tunnel syndrome) and associated traumatic nerve injuries. An avid cyclist, Dr. Reiter once rode his bike from San Francisco to Washington DC (over 4,000 miles!) as part of a charity team to raise funds and awareness for people with disabilities. All of America saw the exact same sham show trial, trying for the 4th time to impeach Pres Trump. Yet we are still divided about this great man. We who love babies in the womb, love police, love soldiers, love capitalists, love the border wall, love school choice, love freedom, and love Jesus (with our hearts, not just our lips) are very likely to see Trump as innocent. They who hate these things, but prefer a top down system with people like them running our lives, still want to claim President Trump was guilty. Not much has changed. Enjoy this SHORT video. Patients with thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) may have undiagnosed pain and symptoms into their shoulder, arm, hand, scapula, head, face, upper back, axilla, chest and anterior clavicle. With a number of potential sources of pain in these areas, TOS patients commonly have a delayed or incorrect diagnosis, followed by unnecessary and unsuccessful surgery. Further complicating matters, imaging and nerve conduction studies are often clear or inconclusive. Studies show that on average, patients with TOS have an average of 5 years of symptoms and see 6 doctors before receiving an accurate diagnosis. What tests and questionnaires will help guide your diagnosis and intervention? When are patients suitable for Physiotherapy and conservative management? When should you refer on for a surgical opinion? In this podcast with Jo Gibson (Clinical Physiotherapy Specialist), you will discover: What is Thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS)? Commonly reported symptoms of TOS Three different types of TOS The most common type of TOS with around 80% of all TOS patients Why imaging and investigations are often clear, and don’t match up with symptoms 3 key causes of TOS The relationship between TOS and hypermobility syndrome Criteria for diagnosis in the latest TOS diagnostic consensus statement Differential diagnosis (DDx) - Cervical NR compression, and peripheral nerve entrapment Common subjective findings that guide you towards a diagnosis of TOS A questionnaire you can use to assist cervicobrachial diagnosis What information is gained from imaging, including MRI and MR Neurography & nerve conduction studies What are the limitations of imaging? What is the difference between small nerve fibre and large nerve fibres, and how this impacts diagnosis QST - Quantitative sensory testing - Pin prick (Neurotip) and Thermal testing - warm and cold Simple QST test using a coin Objective testing What tests do you need to perform in patients with suspected TOS? What is the elevated stress test (EST)? What information does an upper limb tension test (ULTT) provide? Does a negative ULTT test exclude TOS? How are nerve blocks used? What is the best way to perform a nerve block? How effective are nerve blocks in assisting diagnosis? Who should we refer on for early medical or surgical management? When should you get an early surgical opinion? Which patients are likely to benefit from conservative management? Welcome to the Elevator World News Podcast. Today’s podcast news podcast is sponsored by elevatorbooks.com: www.elevatorbooks.com ELEVATOR ENTRAPMENTS KEEP RICHMOND FIREFIGHTERS BUSY Firefighters in Richmond, Virginia, have been called out for nearly 500 elevator rescues over the past two years, with many of the units being repeat offenders, WRIC 8News reports. Since 2017, the Richmond Fire Department has responded to 23 calls at Johnson Hall, on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). “It’s kind of normal, actually, just to see fire trucks and people getting stuck in the building,” said VCU freshman Samantha Griffin. “Basically, for the whole month of September, at least once a week, I could recall that somebody got stuck in the elevator.” VCU is responsible for its elevators, but a recent radio dispatch call noted that the nearest available elevator technician was several hours away. Other elevator problems have been reported at hotels and apartment buildings around the city. A tenant in one building said its elevator "shakes a lot" and frequently mislevels. Firefighters said the troublesome elevators often have past-due inspection certificates, with one unit showing its last inspection was in 2015. Welcome to the Elevator World News Podcast. This week’s news podcast is sponsored by elevatorbooks.com: www.elevatorbooks.com REPORT SHOWS INCREASE IN ELEVATOR ENTRAPMENTS IN NASHVILLE A new report shows Nashville has an increasing problem of people getting stuck in elevators. An investigative story by WSMV looked at the 911 calls for the city from 2017-2019. There were 158 calls of entrapment in 2016, 231 in 2017 and 373 calls since the beginning of 2018. The area with the highest concentration of incidents was the downtown corridor. With a booming construction market, the city gets more elevators each year, and according to Steven Hawkins with the state department of labor, newer elevators have a “settling in” process and work more reliably after a few months. The building with the most elevator entrapments since 2018 (10) is the Public Square Garage on Church Street.
