FF: Talk vs. Action There is a big difference between what someone says and what they do. The legislators might tell you that they have saved you 3 billion dollars. They won't mention that this savings is spread over 10 years after they already increased what you pay over the last year by 3 billion. So did you really save anything? The Auditor might report that they do not have a backlog of tax disputes, but if there are 4509 complaints pending, how accurate is that statement? People can say that they want to stop government waste, fraud, and abuse, but are they taking actions to help make that happen? Today we talk about politicians, property taxes, Proposition 13 in California, and where our taxes go. We also talk about audits, accountability, and taking simple actions to protect yourself and make the world a better place! FF: Hedge Fund Houses Trump said he wants to ban "large" investors from purchasing single family homes. The idea is that because these investors are buying homes, the price is going too high. This ignores the fact of the large increases in things like property taxes, insurance, labor, and building supplies. This also is not looking at how small the percentage is of single-family homes that institutions are purchasing. They didn't even talk about what is a "large" investor. In Ohio, they had labeled this as any investor that owns 50 or more (which by statistics is still pretty small). We talk about the numbers, the background, how investors saved the housing market after the Great Financial Crisis, and the questions that the politicians aren't asking themselves. If this is passed, expect a loss of privacy without any real relief for home prices. Learn what you need to know by joining us in this episode! FF: Deficits DO Matter! We talk about holiday spending in the U.S. and Canada, which can add to the monthly deficit and overall debt for the consumer. Governments are continuously increases their debt and running deficits every year. While some may say that deficits don't matter or "in the long run, we'll all be dead," but the truth is that the only way to increase the monetary supply without inflation is to create enough value to account for the increase. That is not what is going on in the world today. The government deficit is added to GDP, but the government isn't actually producing anything, so the calculation for GDP is seriously flawed. The greatest trick the Fed ever did was to convince the world that 2% inflation was good. It just makes it take more currency to get the goods and services you need and steals your purchasing power. We talk about how you can plan ahead to make your world a better place! FF: Speculation vs. Investing Gold and silver are hitting all-time highs measured in today's dollars, but if we adjust for inflation, silver is still undervalued. One comment from the president about tariffs was enough to cause price drops in cryptocurrencies, although even after that drop, Bitcoin is still up 20% for the year. There is a big difference between Speculating and Investing. You need to understand the difference and learn how to invest. China and India are out of silver to sell, and if the London silver market freezes, the entire market will see the effects. You need to own physical metal - not ETF's. Use this information to help you buy more hard assets faster! FF: Forget About Price - Look at Value There is a big difference between money and currency. While people were fascinated by alchemy, you cannot turn lead into gold. That is one of the reasons that gold is money. Since you can't just make more of it, it cannot be inflated like currency. We go over the market caps of different investments and how they relate to each other. We also talk about IPO's, risk, and price expectations. Since the dollar can be inflated, it may be better to measure the cost of things in something that the government cannot just make more of, like gold. In the end, it isn't the price of something, it's about the value. We also discussed the benefits of local charity versus government welfare programs, concluding with ideas for real estate and precious metal investments. State Property Tax Burden Comparison Ohio ranks 8th highest in the nation for property tax burden. Eric discussed the growing frustration among Ohio taxpayers regarding property tax increases, highlighting how senior citizens are particularly affected. He emphasized the need for legislative action to address this issue, noting that while the proposed constitutional amendment to abolish property taxes requires about 400,000 signatures to get on the ballot. He also mentioned the potential for more tax foreclosures in Ohio and offered resources for learning about property tax sales. Local Charity vs. Government Welfare The group discussed the benefits of local charity versus government welfare programs, including a local community chest and how local businesses and individuals helped each other. Commercial Loan Maturity Peak 2025 Financial data shows that 2025 may be the peak year for commercial loan maturations, with over $5 billion coming due by October. Obtaining bank loans & the fees and interest rates involved as well as working with smaller banks for better service and deals. We explain how the "extend and pretend" strategy can lead to worse problems in the future. He detailed how commercial loans differ from residential loans and emphasized the importance of understanding loan terms and financial statements.
