Im ersten Teil dieser wahrscheinlich mehrteiligen Reihe widmen wir uns direkt den beiden größten Stars des Genres Sylvester Stallone und Arnold Schwarzenegger, die mit ihren Filmen, Figuren und One-Linenern ganze Generationen an Jungen, zu denen auch unser chaotisches Duo gehört, geprägt haben. Wie die beiden überhaupt in den Kontakt mit Filmen dieser Art gekommen sind, welche Streifen von Arnie und Sly ihnen am besten gefallen und wen sie so für ihre Nachfolger halten, erfahrt ihr im Laufe der knapp fünf Stunden, die unsere 157. Frohe Weihnachten und alles Gute an euch da draußen!Durch unsere kleine Verspätung haben wir es leider zwar verpasst, euch rechtzeitig zur Bescherung unsere letzte Folge des Jahres unter den Baum zu legen, aber Weihnachten ist ja noch nicht vorbei und somit holen wir das nun ganz gemütlich nach. Wir hoffen, ihr hattet bis jetzt ein wunderschönes Weihnachtsfest im Beisein eurer Lieben mit vielen tollen Geschenken, leckerem Essen und netten Plaudereien. Jetzt, wo sich Weihnachten immer mehr dem Ende zuneigt, wollen wir das Ganze auf diesem Wege nun abrunden. Wie schon im letzten Jahr nehmen wir euch mithilfe ausgewählter Katalogseiten der US Versandhäuser J.C. Penney, Montgomery Ward und Sears aus den 80ern und dieses Mal auch 90ern mit auf eine kleine Zeitreise, um in alten Erinnerung an unsere Kindheit und all dem tollen Spielzeug von damals zu schwelgen. Im Grunde bewegen wir uns dabei dann durch den Zeitraum von 1988 bis 1994, wobei wir ja noch einen vergessen Katalog vom letzten Mal aus dem Jahre 1984 nachliefern werden und dank zusätzlicher Katalogseiten aus dem britischen Hause Argos den einen oder anderen kleinen Zwischenstopp einlegen werden, um euch noch ein paar Besonderheiten zu präsentieren, die in den US Katalogen nicht auftauchen geschweige denn überhaupt dort jemals in den Handel gekommen sind. Als Zusatz zeigt euch Dennis am Ende, wie versprochen, noch sein "Masters Of The Universe" Magazin, das er damals 1988 aus einem Spielzeugladen mitgenommen und seitdem immer behalten und schön aufbewahrt hat.Damit Zwischendurch auch mal Zeit zum Luftholen da ist und mit neuem Schwung in einen neuen Abschnitt der Folge gestartet werden kann, heißen wir wieder ein Vielzahl an musikalischen Gästen bei uns im Gemischtwarenladen willkommen. Welcome to the show for May 2010. Our fly this month is a saltwater pattern created by Dan Blanton. Originally an adaptation of a West Coast salmon fly, Blanton created the original Fatal Attraction to serve as the fly rodders "rooster tail" all purpose attractor. Ward Bean, of Warm Water Fly Tyer reinterpreted the fly as a baby bluegill imitation. With the release of the "Firetiger" holographic flash, this pattern really has become a great imitaiton of a baby pumpkinseed sunfish, a ubiquitous warm water citizen.
