Drummer David “Bro” Lauser and guitarist Gary Pihl go way back—to the early '80s, when they laid down the thunderous drums and scorching guitar riffs on Sammy Hagar's iconic Geffen albums. Fast forward five decades, and their ALLIANCE is still going strong! When Sammy joined Van Halen in '85, Gary jumped over to the legendary BOSTON, where he's held it down on guitar for 40 years. And when Sammy launched his post-VH solo career, guess who was his first Wabo? His "Bro," of course!Out of that tight-knit musical (ahem) circle, "Bro" and Gary helped form ALLIANCE in the '90s with singer/bassist Robert Berry and keyboardist Allan Fitzgerald. In this episode, they join the Bo-Hosts to chat about their killer new album on Frontiers Music, Before Our Eyes. They also reminisce about recording VOA (and whether live footage exists!), the possible whereabouts of their "55" jumpsuits, dig into their recording process, speculate on a VOA band reunion in Cabo, and face off in a round of RedRocker Rapid Fire. This episode took some serious calendar-juggling to make happen—so crank it up LOUD and enjoy! For more on ALLIANCE:https://www.frontiers.it/artist/2216https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmkNfnqrJCgFor more on David "Bro"Lauser:https://www.davidlauser.com/index.htmlFor more on Gary Pihl:https://garypihl.com/"What is understood...NEED be discussed"Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100085582159917Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thebogusotisshow/?hl=enConnect with the Bo-Hosts:bogusotisshow@gmail.com
Harem Scarem, the Canadian melodic hard rock band formed in 1987, has built a legacy on polished songwriting, tight arrangements, and emotive vocals. While the band's early sound was rooted in the melodic glam-infused rock popular in the late '80s and early '90s, their progression over the years has shown a clear evolution in maturity and depth. Their self-titled debut in 1991 introduced audiences to their signature blend of melody and power, and albums like Mood Swings and Voice of Reason solidified their place in melodic rock history.Throughout their career, the band has shifted lineups but remained consistent in its core songwriting duo of vocalist Harry Hess and guitarist Pete Lesperance. Known for crafting thoughtful lyrics and hook-laden choruses, Harem Scarem became particularly popular in Europe and Japan. Despite briefly disbanding in 2008 after the release of Hope, the band reunited in 2013, re-recorded Mood Swings as Mood Swings II, and has since continued creating new music while keeping a foot rooted in their classic sound. The band's latest album, Chasing Euphoria, is a continuation of that legacy—a blend of melodic intensity and lyrical introspection. While Hess continues to balance producing and engineering for other artists out of his own studio, the band remains a creative priority. Chasing Euphoria is available now through Frontiers Music. Robin McAuley has built a legendary career spanning decades, establishing himself as one of rock's most enduring and powerful vocalists. Best known for fronting McAuley Schenker Group in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, his soaring voice became a signature of melodic hard rock. Collaborating with guitar virtuoso Michael Schenker, the group released classic albums like Perfect Timing (1987) and Save Yourself (1989), which featured hit tracks such as “Anytime” and “This Is My Heart.” McAuley's distinct blend of grit and melody set him apart in an era dominated by powerful vocalists.Beyond MSG, McAuley's career has been marked by his adaptability and relentless passion for music. He has worked with projects such as Grand Prix and Survivor, further cementing his reputation in the rock world. Over the years, he remained an in-demand vocalist, making guest appearances and lending his talents to numerous projects while continuing to tour. Despite shifts in the rock landscape, McAuley's unmistakable voice never faded, proving his longevity and versatility. In recent years, McAuley has seen a resurgence with the Frontiers Music label, releasing acclaimed solo work and forming the supergroup Black Swan alongside Reb Beach (Whitesnake, Winger), Jeff Pilson (Foreigner, Dokken), and Matt Starr (Ace Frehley, Mr. Big). Their debut album, Shake the World (2020), received widespread praise, proving that melodic hard rock still had a strong pulse. The follow-up, Generation Mind (2022), further solidified their chemistry, showcasing McAuley's still-powerful vocals and his ability to craft anthemic, emotionally charged songs.http://www.robinmcauley.com/

The Jeremy White Show welcomes Eric Bloom from Blue Oyster Cult! We talk about some famous concert bills they've been apart of, how Tony Iomi is holding up the release of the infamous concert they did together, losing all their vintage gear during Hurricane Sandy, how GHOST STORIES was recorded and made from vintage analog tapes and so much more! He also tells stories of some bands that weren't neccerasily that nice to them over the years... all of that and more! After the resounding success of their 50th Anniversary celebration, BLUE ÖYSTER CULT is eagerly gearing up for an exciting new chapter in their storied career with the upcoming release of 'Ghost Stories.' This highly anticipated album marks a fitting finale to the recording legacy of one of rock's most iconic fixtures from the past 50 years. In a thrilling partnership with Frontiers Music, BLUE ÖYSTER CULT is set to captivate fans with a collection of reimagined and newly completed songs that span from 1978-2016. These musical treasures, long considered 'lost gems' by BLUE ÖYSTER CULT enthusiasts, were originally recorded between 1978 and 1983, except for one track from 2016, "If I Fell." Also included is the only known studio recording of their concert classic “Kick Out the Jams” (MC5 cover). Some of the material is from sessions workshopping material for an album, some is from performance rehearsals. All were recorded once in the hopes that someday they'd see the light of day. George Geranios, the band's original audio engineer and an integral part of the band's golden years, co-produced the original 1978-83 recordings along with BÖC. All were originally recorded on reel-to-reel analog tape. They were later transferred to digital audio, which is when modern AI and magical musical talents met and the collection of vintage multi-track recordings was de-mixed, re-mixed, and produced by Steve Schenck and Richie Castellano to become 'Ghost Stories. Work in the studio for the album was completed by Richie Castellano along with remaining original members Eric Bloom and Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser, both Albert Bouchard and Rick Downey appear on drums with additional overdubs recorded by Joe Bouchard. All these original lineup members appearing on 'Ghost Stories,' create a musical journey that traverses decades. To celebrate this exciting announcement, the band shares the single "So Supernatural" along with a new music video that has a super cool blend of classic rock and modern AI. Robert Berry is an American singer, bassist and all-around multi-instrumentalist and record producer, best known for his work with Hush, 3 with Keith Emerson and Carl Palmer, Ambrosia, and Alliance. He was previously with The Greg Kihn Band, and as of 2022, he is with progressive band Six By Six, a super group composed of musicians Ian Crichton from Saga and Nigel Glockler of Saxon.Berry came into the spotlight in 1988, when he teamed with Keith Emerson and Carl Palmer (of Emerson, Lake & Palmer fame) and formed the band 3. Their only album, To the Power of Three saw the group gain some commercial success with the 1st single “Talkin' Bout” as it reached #9 on the Billboard rock charts that year. 3 disbanded in 1989 after a successful tour supporting the album. Berry also has contributed songs to a number of film soundtracks, including the Anthony Michael Hall film Out of Bounds. In 1999, Berry produced and performed on The Wheel of Time, an album billed as a soundtrack to the Robert Jordan fantasy series The Wheel of Time. He also works as a record producer and owns a state-of-the-art recording studio in northern CA.In 2015, Berry and Emerson signed with Frontiers Music and began working on a follow-up to To the Power of Three as 3.2. The project was shelved following Emerson's death in March 2016, but Berry would finish the project himself and release it in 2018 under the 3.2 moniker as The Rules Have Changed and then followed that up with “Third Impression” in 2021.Since then, Berry's focus has been on Six By Six as the band had world-wide success with their debut and are currently writing album #2 for release in 2023. Berry is also in the planning stages of a new Alliance album too so while we wait for those new records please enjoy Robert's conversation with The Jersey Guys!

West Bound is an in-your-face five-piece hard rock band from Los Angeles, California. Their unique brand of entertainment fuses powerful bluesy vocals, hard-hitting guitars, a tight rhythm section, and a touch of keyboards which has had them compared to classic bands like Led Zeppelin, Whitesnake, Aerosmith, and modern rock bands like Rival Sons! The band came together after vocalist Chas West (the Jason Bonham Band, Foreigner, Lynch Mob, Tribe of Gypsies) was contacted by Serafino Perugino, President of Frontiers Music srl, about doing a solo album. Perugino loved Chas's vocals/ideas on the self-titled Resurrection Kings record (with Vinny Appice, Craig Goldy, and Sean McNabb) and wanted to do a solo record with him the following year. Serafino wanted him to work with a producer/writer...West was on board and reached out to his old bandmate, friend, and co-writer—the renowned guitarist/producer ROY Z, (Tribe of Gypsies, Bruce Dickinson, Rob Halford, Sebastian Bach).

The Pipeman interviews Joel Hoekstra. The idea was from The Frontiers Music srl. It was put together by the label for a new up and coming artist named Nathan James. The new single is called No Where to Run. Brings that 70-80s style music. It starts with Joel coming up with guitar riffs. He would send it off the get arranging. After that it went to Nathan to write lyrics on it. June 17th Second Skin gets released from Frontier the label. It's a constant record. Its hard to pick the best song on the project so Joel enjoys every song. He's about to go out on tour a lot and looking forward to touring next year. The last couple years ended up becoming busier for him during the pandemic. He would teach lessons, produce, write and cameo during the pandemic. He really didn't take time off. It was a different type of busy. It about being productive every day. Early at the beginning of the pandemic he took a moment to take some time off but got right back into it. You can connect with the new music on all social media platforms. You can stream wit on all major platforms. JoelHoekstra.com you can get his work there. Rock and roll doesn't get much more old school than Scottish legends Nazareth. The band is still going more than 50 years since releasing their first album. Their 25th album, Surviving the Law, is coming out in mid-April, and bassist and founding member Pete Agnew was kind enough to tell me how this fresh new take on the Nazareth sound has come about. Pete and I also spoke about his introduction to music, switching from guitar to bass out of necessity, and (of course) that classic album Hair of the Dog. You can learn more about Nazareth at the band's official website (https://www.nazarethdirect.co.uk/website/) or their Facebook page, and you can order Surviving the Law on colored vinyl or cassette from the Frontiers Music webstore. Terry Ilous isn't exactly a household name but he's an artist that has had some success across multiple genres. He fronted his band XYZ in the late 1980s and early 90s, spent more than eight years as Jack Russell's successor as the lead singer of Great White, and has done a lot of Latin-influenced and Flamenco-type music as well. Terry's new project, Land of Gypsies, released its self-titled debut album Dec. 10 and it pays tribute to some of the great bands of the 70s, such as Bad Company, Humble Pie, and early Foreigner and Whitesnake. Terry was gracious enough to talk to me about the making of Land of Gypsies, his time in Great White, the status of XYZ (new music coming?!?), some of his solo work, and more. You can learn more about Terry at his website and you can order Land of Gypsies from Amazon or Frontiers Music or on the digital services. Britain's Chez Kane is an 80s Rock songstress who studied at the feet of Vixen and Pat Benatar, but who, through a terrible twist of fate, was frozen in her early 20s in a cryogenic sleep chamber for the last 35 years. In 2020 her long lost cryo tube was discovered, and Chez was defrosted and awoken by the lead singer of Crazy Lixx just in time to bring the world an album full of much needed hopeful, energetic, totally fun 80s Hard Rock. Signed to Frontiers Music, Chez Kane is optimistic and effervescent about her debut solo album in this new era. I spoke with Chez, and the day after this interview, Chez Kane's self-titled debut album charted in the UK. Two days after that, it landed on the Billboard Hard Music Albums and Top New Artist Albums charts in the U.S., proving that Rip Van Winkle 80s songstress Chez Kane and songwriter Danny Rexon have tapped into a universal desire for fun, light 80s Hard Rock.
