(00:00-26:10) – Query & Company opens on a Hump Day Wednesday with Jake Query and producer Eddie Garrison discussing last night’s World Series game with the Toronto Blue Jays evening the series up at two games apiece. The IndyStar’s Joel Erickson joins the show to discuss some of the injuries the Colts are dealing with, believes that the secondary is a better group than the pass rush if both are totally healthy, lists a couple of things that the Steelers do well that could provide some issues for the Colts, and credits Chris Ballard for the job he’s done at maintaining one of the best offensive lines in the league. (26:10-38:48) – Pacers Head Coach Rick Carlisle joined the Fan Morning Show this morning and discussed adding Mac McClung, if he’s ever dealt with a shortage of healthy players like this before, and the center position. Jake plays what he said this morning and weighs in with his own thoughts. (38:48-44:51) – The first hour of the show concludes with Jake and Eddie highlighting all the injuries that the Pacers are dealing with ahead of tonight’s game against the Dallas Mavericks. Plus, they both believe they will see Mac McClung tonight after signing him yesterday. He explains the difference between a stress reaction and a stress fracture, tells Jake that it’s going to be some time before we start seeing Isaiah Jackson look more like the guy he was prior to his achilles tear, and touches on some of the injuries that players for the Indianapolis Colts are dealing with. (1:08:30-1:20:08) – Jake asks Eddie if he has watching Chad Powers at all, which leads them to talking to shows that they need to watch, or finish. They discuss Starting 5 featuring Tyrese Haliburton. (1:55:30-2:09:15) – Jake and Eddie share some of their initial thoughts on the Pittsburgh Steelers based off what they saw in their Sunday night loss to the Green Bay Packers. Jake also highlights a part of this Colts team that hasn’t received a lot of praise because of the success that Jonathan Taylor and Daniel Jones are having. (2:09:15-2:16:53) – Today’s show closes out with Jake, Eddie, and JMV discussing the top songs from 1982, the year Jake turned 10 years old. Historically Speaking Sports co hosts Dana Auguster and Charles Combs are both natives of Louisiana and also the southern part of the United States where college football is more than just a sport. On Saturdays in the fall it is the south's secular religion. In this edition of this podcast, Dana and Charles highlight teams they they consider the best college football teams they had ever seen. The teams that are highlighted are some of the best college football teams ever. Most won championships. Some came close to winning. A couple won despite of on and off the field controversy. One team made the list that had two losses on the season but in the process had a Heisman Trophy winner and rewrote the NCAA offensive record books. Later in the show we will send a Shout Out to pair of coaches that were major parts of the college football landscape and had some of the best players and some championship season but for whatever reason, they both had fallen through the cracks of sports history. We have all that and more coming up on this all new edition of the Historically Speaking Sports Podcast. To contact the show you could drop us an e-mail at Historically.Speaking.Sports@gmail.com.

The incredible, untold true story of the 1952 Dallas Texans-the most dysfunctional team in the craziest season in NFL history.Rattlesnakes on the practice field, barroom brawls between teammates, bounced checks, paternity suits, house bombings by the Ku Klux Klan, stadium fields covered in circus-elephant dung, one-legged trainers, humiliating defeats, miraculous wins, All-Pro quarterbacks getting drunk at halftime, strip poker with groupies, and even a future Hall of Fame coach stealing a cab.Nearly lost to history, this singular season in the most football-mad region of the world is a kaleidoscope of every larger-than-life, fictionalized Texas football folktale ever written or filmed, with one incredible twist: it's all true. Over a fascinating, ten-month rollercoaster ride in 1952, in the waning Wild West days of the NFL, before television turned the game into a corporation, the forgotten Dallas Texans would go down in history as one of the worst (and, wildest) teams of all time and the last NFL team to fail. But not before defying the Jim Crow South, pulling off a Thanksgiving Day miracle against George Halas's famed Chicago Bears and then celebrating with an even more infamous bender that would make Jimmy Johnson's Dallas Cowboys blush. A year later, the NFL buried all traces of the most loveable, dysfunctional, entertaining team in history by secretly rebranding the train wreck Texans as the wholesome, all-American Baltimore Colts, the team that would go on to save pro football.A Big Mess in Texas tells the Texans' tale with all the humor, drama, game action, colorful characters, villains, world-class athletes, civil rights trailblazers, and incredible plot twists of that legendary season.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.
